Massively gone down hill under new ownership, used to be a great chippy. Food now very poor and customer service non existent.

Chips were small and only thin sections not the normal chip shop chips. But the rest was great

I’ve used here for 14 years but will not go again. Waited 35 mins for 2 fish and 1 chips so could’ve cooked it faster myself. When we got home the fish was raw in the middle and batter just fell off the fish and was soggy and grainy. I phoned to complain and was told that there was nothing wrong with their fish! Ok fine, but I’m not eating it and won’t be back!!

Traditional chippy. Pristine premises with excellent food and open Sundays.. it is located opposite the pub and petrol station

Great fish n chips, they taste like they used to taste. Great price too… Only reason for four stars is that it’s never open… 😞

Gets my vote for the best fish and chip shop in the area . First time we’ve used them tonight since they have been taken over and will definitely be returning. Staff really friendly which I like as great customer service is important. The cleanliness is 5 star . And the food was absolutely delicious. Well worth the money , great size portions and I cannot fault anything . It’s great to find a shop that ticks all the right boxes . Highly recommend

Went in for a battered sausage and chips. The food was delicious, as good as anything I can recall having from a fish and chip shop. The new owner was really friendly and I was impressed with his plans for the Lobster Pot. Highly recommended and I’ll be going back very soon.

Decided to try as recently reopened. I was disappointed with our order of cod, haddock chips, and curry sauce. Batter thick and tastless as we're the fish. Curry sauce grainy in texture. Chips OK, but not great.

First time getting chips from here, I can honestly say they were the best chippy chips I've had in a long time and the 2 young lads serving were really great

I recently had cod and chips, it was amazing freshly cooked, hot and massive portions, best fish I have ever eaten lovely friendly customer service, I will only go to this fish and chip shop

Second time going under the new owners. Cod & Chips, Pineapple fritters and Curry Sauce. Price was there or there abouts same as other Chip Shops feeding 4 people. Food was great, everything that you would want. Service was great, really nice guys. All in all can't fault them.

Under new owners so decided to give it a try and we weren’t disappointed. Good size portions and really nice food. Will definitely go back

Undercooked chips and jumbo sausage still pink Polite service but atrocious cooks. Would give0 stars if I could.

Chips was white and tasted undercooked and dry, my sausage was right next to some cod bites which has stopped me from eating it as I'm allgeric to fish I know I should of told them to keep it separate but didn't think at the time. They should know at least he used different tongs.

Went in last week and the chips wasn't the best but, tried again this week and things are much better, great chips and nice size portions, fish really nice and crispy, will be going back, they even take cards as well, was only cash before

Saveloy was freezing cold not sure was even cooked!!! Chip butty wasn’t great

Ordered haddock , large chips , scampi, curry sauce and mushy peas. Total £22.50 Haddock very thin and batter not cooked (pale , thin and soggy) . 4/10 Chips - small portion and not great (hard, not very thick and possible refried), in my opinion any chippy should be able to do proper chippy chips. 3/10 Scampi was very good though, nice flavour, hot and soft . 8/10 Curry sauce was standard . 5/10 Mushy peas were also ok but no different than what you can by from supermarket. 5/10 Definitely wasn't worth the money. This is my honest opinion and at the moment there are better chip shops locally. I hope it does improve as I would hate to see the Lobster Pot disappear from our high Street. Just recently reopened so should be on top of the game.

Just reopened. Batter not cooked (soft,white and soggy) and thickest part of my large cod was stone cold, needs cooking a bit longer. Chips were dark brown and greasy, reminded me of school dinner chips. Not great at all this used to be the best chippy in the area. Been living here for 4years and always went here. Maybe they should try abit of what they’re selling. Might not be going back.

Excellent fish and chips! The cod, haddock and plaice are all very tasty. Thin a crispy batter on the fish which is perfectly cooked.

Chippy of our choice despite a couple nearer to home which kind of says it all 👍

Really nice fish & chips that's saying something my husband being a northerner he said best in waterlooville ,he loves this place and plus doing scraps over chips yummy chips remember 40 years ago my mum and dad getting our Friday night tea from lobster pot the queue going down the road nice to see haven't changed lobster pot too much

First time visiting tonight, A real friendly family chippy! Met the guy that served me before in a past life! Decent conversation you just don’t get anymore, The fish was beautiful crispy light batter and the chips were amazing! The gravy is very tasty! We’ve all come away very happy. This isn’t your average greasy outlet! Give them a go you won’t be disappointed, This is now our new regular keep up the great work!

Was OK. Changed hands a few weeks ago. Now absolutely rubbish. Other than chips, everything cooked to order only. The chips are refried. Very slow and unfriendly service. Goodbye from me.

Great fish and chips. Have been coming here for a couple of years. Not my local but worth a travel. The chips are amazing! Best chips I have tried from a fish and chip shop. I ordered 2 medium cod and a large chips with curry sauce. Curry sauce was super nice too. Cod was a good portion but I knocked a star off as it was a little greasy. Apart from this I would still continue to come here. Staff friendly and nice too and a good price.

First visit for a while, Friday early lunchtime. very chatty, helpful lady serving, freshly cooked cod and plenty of chips. I took the meal home to eat and thoroughly enjoyed it. The fact this business has been trading for decades tells you a lot as well

This is the best chip shop around here by far. Real chips cook well and always fresh, not over prices like some others. Its just a good old chipy like we used to have.

Fantastic if you want mouldy food

The service is very fast and the food is relatively cheap but it has a great quality. I have been a regular visitor for years now and the staff are friendly and very chatty. The menu is varied, selling chicken nuggets to Pukka Pies. Portion sizes are very generous and good value for money and they taste lovely. There are two parking spots at the front of the takeaway, but they are usually reserved for the owners so your best chance is to park in an opposite side road, not as convenient but not that much of a bother. The only thing that I could improve would be the interior, as there are only a couple of seats to sit down in and there is nothing to do to pass the time, such as magazines or newspapers. Overall this is a lovely place to purchase your Friday night fish and chips minus a few negatives.
