Very good quality and traditional fish and chips shop. Run by a couple for a couple of decades now. Well worth some visit.

Been going here recently for my lunch while working in the area the lady in here is a gd pleasant member of staff and I presume owner the food is great and extremely well priced I will for sure be using them again when in the area and recommend anyone local to try them for yourselves

Have been in here a few times for a lady I visit close by.. and always been okay.. todays chips were awful and we couldn’t eat them.. definitely reheated as was the sausage in batter.. disappointing..

The best fish & chips I've eaten in the Brighton and Saltdean area. The quality of the food is great and the owners are wonderful. We enjoyed our meal on the edge of the cliffs with a great view of the sea. I highly recommend this takeaway restaurant.

Cash only! Great prices, wonderful staff, would highly recommend! The best way to enjoy fish and chips is to take them down onto Saltdean beach or eat on a bench overlooking the sea.

Legendary local chippy. Food is consistently good, pricing is generous, and service is friendly. They only accept cash payment , which is frustrating though.

Love this place, great range of fish etc, in different sizes for different appetites. Crispy batter and generous chip portions, and the prices just can’t be beaten locally. Be warned that they only take cash payment (or did the last time I went), so visit the cash machine up the road first if you need to!

After a day hunting fossils, we wanted fish and chips for supper. Looking around Peacehaven, the shops were expensive and smelled of old cooking oil. Tried the Lobster Pot and we were pleasantly surprised. Medium cod and chips x3 for £20 or so. Chips were good and the fish very tasty. A slight hint of lemon was present and most refreshing. Premises are dated but very clean. The shop was staffed by an older East Asian couple. The strongly accented lady on the till was helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Best fish n chips is here not the over priced best fish n chips in peacehaven !! This is fair priced and quality go try it !!!

First time visiting The Lobster Pot after hearing good things. Initially feared portions looked quite small but actually a decent size. Not the best cod and chips I've had but still very tasty and a nice mid-week treat. Apparently prices have gone up recently but still think they were very reasonably priced. Would definitely get a takeaway from here again

Not bad food and definitely cheaper than most places these days. But at the cost of portion size and quality.

Been going here since I moved to the area 15 years ago. Through all this time this establishment has been run by the same people who are always consistent, the shop is never unexpectedly shut and they are always welcoming and friendly. The place is kept clean and they remember their regulars. Over the fifteen years there have only been slight price increases and they are still very affordable now. When I go in with my children they have sometimes offered sweets for them. I don't go weekly, I only get a takeaway once in a blue moon but they recognise me and I have never had a bad fish and chips yet and prefer this shop to others in my area.

The Prices are cheaper compared to other places around. However, I ordered a large Cod but was very disappointed with the quality I received as the fish was undercooked and the cooking oil tasted like it has not been changed for 5 days. It is best to avoid coming on Saturdays. There is an extra charge if you request things like sauce, lemon or a proper fork.

The staff here are so friendly. It's a welcoming place and the food is very tasty. Will definitely be coming here again.

First thing first, the place is the cleanest possible. The lady behind the till is super friendly and helpful. The food was fresh, packed nicely and a good portion as well. Prices are very good or better say cheap compared to other places around. Definitely a must try to everyone

Been using this shop for years, but I don't know what went wrong today 1pm So should be fresh, the chips tasted like they were from last night... and refried at least 2 times more... No moisture left in them... Awful threw them away..

Service poor as waiting in the shop for ages yet people could be heard out the back chatting. Food very mediocre, very oily and barely warm. Don't think I'll be returning

Lovely fish and chips after a stroll down the the beach from Rottingdean. The fish was cooked absolutely spot on, and the batter was crisp and tasty.

Nice place shame I have to wait over a hour for food. , not the worlds quickest place need some staff Had to wait over a hr for food Not good. For a fast food place. Defo wouldn’t go again

Best value takeaway in Saltdean. Basic fish and chips, but place is spotlessly clean with all relevant hygiene certificates and best of all the service is very friendly. A lovely family business, much loved by locals.

I really should give this place a 5* Rating, (my own opinion), but rating so highly often disappoints others who might then expect "perfection" - it's not! BUT!!!...this shop has been there since before I moved into this area over 20 years ago, so that in itself speaks volumes! 95%+ of the time, their fish 'n' chips, and other products, are delicious and quite ample portions...and just about the CHEAPEST AROUND! If I buy X amount of meals from here, it's up to FIVE POUNDS cheaper overall, than buying from any one of four other shops in (or within 5 mins drive) of my local area. Plus, the service is friendly and pretty fast, and it's VERY popular! Recommended.

Been going to this place for years and after moving to london and exploring the fish and chips there i can confidently say this is the best! Consistently tasty, decent portions and cheap!

Pretty good food even though it was pre cooked. The lady could also do with listening more carefully when taking orders as she got a very simple order wrong even when I double checked with her when receiving my change as it looked like I'd been undercharged.

This fish and chip shop is the absolute best in the area of Brighton and Hove and further afield! No joke it's absolutely perfect! If I could give a 6 star I would! The staff are very friendly too and accommodating when we decide to eat in the actual cafe'. DELICIOUS!!!
