L'Atelier Du Vin Wine and Cocktail Bar in Brighton and Hove

Went for cocktails. Bar and atmosphere is nice, staff friendly. We ordered two cocktails and olives. Both cocktails were a bit underwhelming, especially when you pay £13 for one, and one of them missed an ingredient which was added after a I had already taken a few sips. Staff forgot our olives but we didn’t bother to ask for them again as only wanted one drink.

Had a fantastic experience today at this hidden gem!. Ethan was an amazing host and was friendly, welcoming and really made our visit even more enjoyable. What a fabulous place! We have already shared the details with friends and will be back again soon.

The hidden gem of Brighton. Great charcuterie and cocktails....ask for the necromancer cocktail which is not on the menu. The mixologist creates original cocktails that you won't find anywhere else. Ask and you might find there's a cocktail you never thought you'd discover!

Very nice place for some wine and cocktails. Had the cheese platter with the wine and it was delicious.

Now a beautiful cafe as well as a wine bar. It’s like stepping into a old school traditional Parisienne cafe The new owners are lovely and have top notch coffee, pastries and fantastic fresh sandwiches/baguettes loaded with fillings for all diets. They also bake their own amazing cakes.

Cool place, but struggled a bit with the spiral staircase! We just had drinks. Great wine selection.

An gorgeous cocktail bar, with high quality crafted cocktails, wide selection of wines, served by a very professional staff in a cosy environment. Prices above average but well worth it.

A really special find. Lovely wine and a really good platter with lots of selection. The service was excellent too. My friend and I had a really pleasant experience.

Really quality wines here, it's definitely high end. Not a cheap place nor particularly atmospheric, but everything is top notch.

Excellent wine, good charcuterie but terrible service. The female waitress was simply rude, they closed without telling us they were 3 hours before closing time and then implied we didn't need another drink when we asked the bill. You judge!

My go-to bar when looking for cocktails or wine in a relaxed yet spirited environment! Very dog friendly. The team are always friendly, chatty and professional - really knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations. Can usually walk in for a table if there are 2-3 of you but better to book for weekend evenings.

What a shame. I went here with my partner a few times, really liked the place (the one in St George's Place); nice wine and cheese and vibe, but my partner left her hat and gloves behind when we went once, so I went back to try and find them for her, but the woman working there refused to look for them. Very odd behaviour. Anyway, she then said she would call me if she found them, which she subsequently did. I said I'd be in in the next few days, but when we returned, they had thrown them out! Even though we had said we were going to return within a week (which we did). Quite frankly this is appalling customer service and so they won't be getting any more custom from us. Very disappointing. We'll be demanding that they pay my partner the cost of the items, one of which was a treasured beret from France.

Sorry to say but I found it quite disappointing. The cocktails were bland and flavourless, not what I expected for the very high prices. Brighton BYOB drinks were a much higher quality. The place looks good though and the staff were friendly.

Excellent service, high qaulity wine and great cheese board. Friendly knowledgable staff, an extensive choice of liqueurs and some quite rare, atmospheric decor and my personal favourite mixture of jazz. One of our favourite wine bars.

Cosy and friendly little bar with an outstanding and imaginative cocktail list. They fitted in every demand of our private party and dealt with an adjustment of numbers easily.

Wow! What a great cocktail bar! Brilliantly decorated with a speakeasy feel. The cocktail menu is laid out brilliantly with clever titles. Would visit Brighton again just to come here again!

Disappointed in the service, they had a long list of cocktails on the menu, but margarita was not one of them. They had a huge amount of spirits at the bar so we asked if they could do 2 margaritas given the huge amount of spirits on offer. They did but they charged £12 for one and hid the card machine when we paid so we were unaware of the price. We asked for a very basic cocktail, one that was a lot more basic than those on the menu but for some reason it costed a lot more, just because it wasn’t on the menu? Would not return.

Lovely little wine/cocktail bar alot of choice

Wonderful high-grade cocktails in Brighton. Though pricy, you get what you pay for with these delicious cocktails and friendly professional staff. They were so accommodating with a friend’s allergies and we were able to enjoy cheese and crackers with no problems!

My go to place for quality cocktails. Favourite one the one on Grand Parade. Hugo is just brilliant

A small and quaint prohibition era-esque speakeasy, with a lovely wine selection. Only thing keeping me back from 5 stars is the fact that we live in a Coravin world, more wines should be made available by the glass.

Hugo is an incredible mixologist; the very reason we came back! Great conversation, even better drinks and also an impressive venue. I recommended to all those reading to visit for high quality cocktails and a relaxing atmosphere.

I saw the owner of this place buying the meat for the restaurant from the Aldi bargain bin… very naughty.

Pre supper drinks, great service, cocktail list almost to many to choose from , attentive service without being overbearing, great playlist for background music, all round positive vibe Definitely coming back

The wine is good but don’t go here for food! My boyfriend and I shared the charcuterie board which was £21 and it came with 4 pieces of meat (probably from Aldi) and 3 piddly cheese slices. Not worth the money.

Such a wide variety of cocktails, each one freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. The décor and vibe inside as well is perfect for drinking top of the line cocktails!

The place is great, delicious cocktails. A little on the pricey side, so it's definitely a treat, but you get the quality you pay for. The 4/5 review is due to the lack of staffing, one guy running about like mad, trying to cover all the tables. We were there 2 hours but only got served 3 times.

Beautiful little cocktail and wine bar, really authentic feel. Cocktails are well worth the price for the uniqueness, some weird but always wonderful. Would highly recommend.

House red is excellent. Also a pleasure to find somewhere that stocks Muscadet. Boeuf Bourgignon is a perfect accompaniment.

Matty knows what he’s doing. Madon! Tell him what you like and he’ll spin something beautiful out for you. If you like bitter drinks (amaros, campari, etc.) he’ll make you something spectacular

Excellent little speakeasy with very knowledgeable staff about cocktails and wine, which are the two main points of this place. Outdoor and indoor seating. The road next is closed for private cars so it's nice and calm outside. They serve the Finnish gin Napue, extra points for that. Garnish with a rosemary twig and frozen cranberries.

Lovely mixture of good quality drinks, friendly knowledgeable staff, and well organised theme. Would definitely recommend.

Good wine, good environment but overpriced

Great service, cocktails, atmosphere and chat. Matty, the bartender who was serving the entire venue by himself, still managed to find time to welcome myself and my partner, talk us through the menu, and even make a load of classics that were off the menu. Fantastic service, and honestly a brilliant talented bartender. Highly recommended! Thanks again Matty x

Stopped at L'Atelier in St George's Place in the afternoon for coffee and delicious carrot cake. Met up with some old friends and made some new. Love this place.

This place is the wine bar you have been waiting for. It’s very Parisienne. The wine snug upstairs gives you cosy comfort, with a wonderful vista of the bar and street beyond. The wines are delicious, the service attentive and the cheese board offers inventive selections we hadn’t heard of which were a real delight. We might have to become frequent visitors.

Cosy welcoming. Nice staff and delicious wine and nibbles.

A hidden gem. Great wine, great cheese and meat boards. But above all the cocktails are AMAZING. They focus on traditional/prohibition style so expect it to be delicious, but strong, classics not modern alcho-pop style mixes.

This place is a real gem. So pleased we discovered L'Atelier during our day trip to Brighton today. Kevin warmly welcomed us. After settling upstairs he helped me picked the best red wine I've ever tasted (add a photo)! We shared a selection of tasty cheeses followed by another round of wine. Already signed up to their mailing list for a wine tasting session in the new year. Make sure you add L'Atelier to your list when visiting Brighton.

An absolutely beautifully designed cocktail bar with some food options in London Road Brighton, close to the Royal Pavilion. Beautifully designed and an amazing ambience if you just want a great place to relax. They specialise in prohibition cocktails as well as a great choice in Champagne cocktails and an excellent choice of wines. Prices are high but worth it for that magical atmosphere. I really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and if you want a blast to the past, this is the place! Highly recommended.

The most extensive wines and drinks list I've ever seen in any bar in the world. The cocktails are elaborate and creative but no gizmos, just good drinks. Although I very much dislike how they close their curtains and restrict the view, it's still definitely worth a visit.

Top secret place - really like it here. Top cocktails and a wonderful, full wine list. Usually need to book... but call to see if you can get a seat. Upstairs is super cute....

Early days for this incarnation of this cocktail bar, but you've got to hand it to a barman who rushes out to buy the eggs for an amaretto sour. Nice old school touches on the decor in here. Good vibe. Probably a nice place to come on a date or for a celebratory cocktail.

Intimate, quirky and another hidden gem.

Really nice rooftop place to visit especially in the summer. Cocktails are nice, service can sometimes be a bit slow.

As a few other reviewers have commented, the service is not great here. We popped in at the weekend with some visiting friends. We asked for a table on the roof terrace (surely the key reason to visit here) and the guy looked at us as if we were mad. He looked quite stressed and then said he could probably find us a seat there in 10-15 mins. The main bar area was practically empty so we (not he) suggested we'd have a drink inside and then take a table on the terrace when/if available. Quite quickly the waiter returned and said he could actually accommdate us on the terrace, but in an igloo-type structure on the roof terrace - we accepted. Ordering four G&Ts took ages and, whilst there's an extensive gin menu, there's just regular and diet tonic on offer, not a wider range - and no advice on any of the gins. From our igloo we watched the terrace empty a bit and other people take up vacant tables...only for the stressed-looking waiter to return and move them back as appareantly the tables had been booked (no reserved signs to indicate this). My advice would be forget booking the tables on the roof terrace and relax - then focus on serving the customers well, and quickly. And get rid of the igloo as you could fit a few more tables in.

Food was lovely and has great selection of wine and champagne. Service was very slow and lacked any attention. Ok price. Good for quick lunch or after work gathering. Avoid for special occasions
