Run by mother and son! Very homely and very clean and comfortable rooms. Teresa a very good hostess and Zak a good cook.

I will most definitely be staying here again.

El personal era muy amable y acogedor.El único punto negativo sería que las horas de apertura presentadas fuera parecen diferir de las que encontramos en línea, lo cual fue un poco confuso.

Nice environment and good food (just didn't like the sausages)

I have been here numerous times as I used to live down the road. The food and decor are nice, but orders take a long time and a number of times the manager has been standoffish. We have been sent away curtly when approaching the 3pm closing time, and talked down to when we didn’t realise they only serve sandwiches after 2pm. This has put us off coming back now

My mum and I stayed here while attending a jewellery course nearby. We really enjoyed our stay we were made to feel very welcome. The room was fab had a big shower and comfy beds. Breakfast was exceptional, a great choice more than your big standard full English or continental. Sweet treats on the landing were a lovely touch too. Will definitely visit again!

Muy buena selección de tés, muchos de los cuales nunca antes había escuchado. El té de la tarde era muy agradable, y era un poco diferente a la norma. El té sabroso era enorme y tenía una gran selección de comidas. Lo recomendaría y volveré de nuevo. Agradable encontrar un lugar un poco diferente.

A hidden gem in Bournemouth. It's not very central but the place is just perfect to have good coffee time or even a yummy breakfast. I'd only recommend to have more variety of breakfast.

This place does the most amazing breakfast / brunch. Superb quality food with an interesting and varied menu suitable for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Lovely outdoor seating area, very nice decor inside. The service was very friendly and professional. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and want breakfast, brunch or afternoon tea.

We eat here off and on for breakfast or brunch. The rooibos loose tea is great as is the coffee. Almond milk is always available. The banana pancakes are exceptional. We tend to visit on a Sunday when we have time to enjoy a quality newspaper. Teresa and Zac always have time for a chat however busy they are. Teresa is my style guru and my husband always enjoys some political repartee.

This is a secret gem! The food and service are TOP of the POPS!The Bhaji stack is a legend that will one day rule the world in breakfast cuisine - a must!The delightful teas and coffees are refreshing and so English...This little gem is a delight!

Love this place - have visited twice for breakfast and it's great. Quirky decor, very friendly staff - but the best thing is the menu. The most interesting breakfast menu I've ever seen. Loved the food and wish there was a place as good as this in my home town.

Nice place and reasonably priced. It feels likes it's in the middle of suburbia, but just a 5-10 minute through a nice park brings you out at the beach. The room was comfy and clean. The owners were pleasant and welcoming - and the full breakfast was very good.

The Tea Room has an interesting range of breakfasts/brunches. I would advise booking a table. Hot food is only served until 2.00pm.

We were staying at friends in Alum Chime and decided to come along for brunch. We were not disappointed with what we had at all. Catering for Gluten Free was a big bonus. So accommodating and very friendly. We would certainly come again and if we wanted somewhere to stay this would be our first choice. Thank you so much.

Best quality , freshly made, melt in your mouth - sandwiches and scones and cakes. The watermelon ice lolly was a welcome, different addition (on a hot 29^ day) .A vast selection of teas also available. Currently £14 pp. Went with my daughter, for a belated Mother's Day treat - hopefully we will return with the extended family, as the food was soooo good.

Quirky and fun, great for breakfast

The food was excellent! The coffee was lovely! But, the service was incredibly slow, and we felt distinctly ‘in the way’

Warm welcome upon arrival & sat outside because it was full - luckily it was a sunny day so sitting outside was ideal. The chairs & tables definitely need replacing with something more comfortable as they were really old & rusted (and I don't mean the trendy/vintage type). Service was good/friendly. The cooked breakfast was nice & the menu had it's own twist on things which is always welcomed. What makes this place great is that it's so close to the beach & sits in a residential area all on it's own.

We stayed with family and friends for the night of our wedding and coulnt be better - cosy comforting and above all lovely rooms!

Can’t stop coming to this fab on-trend place. Delicious food. Can’t beat it. Brunch followed by American pancakes and perfect coffee. The decor never fails to impress, the atmosphere is always good and the staff are lovely.

Didn't look like much from the outside but with antique style and friendly staff, I will be heading back! We came for breakfast and we may have muddled up our times, they went out of their way to reassure and accommodate us. The choice for breakfast was spot on and options I've never been given at far more expensive places. All of our breakfast choices were delicious and I'd go so far as to say one of the best I've ever had. Coffee of good quality and plenty of staff to assist. Nice outdoor spot is a sun trap late morning.

We booked the Livingroom for afternoon tea for my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary,we booked for 16 but two of our friends were unable to come so we cancelled two spaces so there would be 14 in total (two of those children ) When we arrived the table was set for 12. I asked the owner if she could please add two more spaces she was extremely rude to me! all I was asking for was the table was laid for the correct amount of places! She rudely ask me to calm down! I was very calm and very polite.The atmosphere in the place seemed very tench and uptight . We orded two bottles of Pressco on top of tea I must say the young girl working was very sweet and was very polite. After we drank our tea and a few people wanted another pot ( as we only had two small cups per person) we asked the young girl and was shocked at her response she said if you want just hot water to top up your pot it's free if you want another pot it will be £4!!! This seemed very petty! The sandwiches were lovely and so were the scones, but we had to ask 3 times for a top up on jam and cream as each time we were given a stingy amount!!!! As we went to leave and looked about as we wanted to thank the young lady, not at any point did the owner come and thank us or say goodbye!!! We did have a lovely afternoon as we were with our loved ones. But the owner really does need to change her attitude!

Comimos aquí con un grupo de 6 amigos, muy buena variedad en el menú. Gran sabor, personal amable. Recomiendo encarecidamente este tesoro escondido, si no sabía que estaba ahí te lo pierdes. Nos sentamos afuera y era precioso, no puedo opinar sobre estar adentro, pero parecía muy guay. Definitivamente volveremos pronto.

Have been here a few times for Breakfast and lunch with friends really enjoyed The pancakes with cinnamon Butter and Maple syrup my friend had poached eggs on Granary bread with Bacon always nicely presentated Staff are very pleasant love the relaxed feel of The living room There is also a hotel above well situated close to westbourne and Bournemouth Town center great to meet friends no catch up over a coffee

We had wanted to find a new and interesting place for Sunday breakfast and this is exactly that, the menu offered a plethora on interesting dishes, and the staff were very helpful and attentive. The decor in this eclectic dining room was very unusual and welcoming. We would recommend booking as it got very busy.

Cosy quirky and you guessed it living room style dinning space with an extensive and unique breakfast menu. All delicious, I know this not because I've eaten it all but because they accommodated myself and 8 friends, we pretty much tried it all between us. I was told the Egyptian was great and I myself loved the corn fritters and avocado.

Utterly on trend, this place delivers that warm, cosy experience. The staff make you feel well looked after. Fab Corn Fritters, Polenta Rosti, Middle Eastern Shakshuka, Chilli Jam. Warm buttermilk pancakes are a dream. Another rare treat is Kombutcha - a fermented drink.

It's so lovely clean and very welcoming place. Breakfast such a good range and cooked to perfection. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Even when we turned up much later than planned. Still made to feel welcome. Cannot wait for our next trip already booked x

This is hands down the best place to have breakfast or brunch in Bournemouth and Poole. The food is incredible, very unique and a taste sensation.The staff and friendly and welcoming and very personable. I booked my parents into the B&B and being in hospitality themselves they were very impressed. If I ever have a friend visiting, or someone suggests brunch, this is the first place I think of.

Absolutely love this place......fabulous food, coffee and first class service. I have visited The Living Room on numerous occasions when visiting my friend and always had a wondering experience.I would suggest that Swapna S would be more suited to dining at the local Macdonads!

The Living Room is a wonderful cafe and B&B, with staff who really do make you feel like welcomed guests in their own 'Living Room'!My whole family (16!) enjoyed an amazing breakfast here after staying overnight in their beautiful B&B rooms. The food, service and banter from the staff was all spot on and I cannot wait to get back down to Bournemouth for another gorgeous breakfast and weekend!Could not recommend it enough - definitely the place to go in Bournemouth for the best experience all round!

I lived in Bournemouth for a few years whilst studying at university and can honestly say that this is one of the hidden gems of the area. It has a lovely rustic feel with a menu that has plenty of variety and options for everyone! There's a reason it has so many regular customers!I was introduced to The Living Room by my uncle and his friends who regularly eat there. I can honestly say that on each occasion I have visited, the staff have been absolutely lovely and attentive throughout and the food has always been of excellent quality. In the past, we have even stayed in the rooms upstairs when our (quite large) family gathered in Bournemouth for a weekend. The rooms themselves are gorgeous and each decorated with individual vintage flair so this really was a lovely stay. Breakfast for a large party went well in the morning and the staff were attentive throughout with great service and food! I last visited for brunch on a trip to Bournemouth for a week near the end of last year and intend to go again as soon as possible!I would honestly recommend The Living Room to anyone living in or visiting the area; small groups or large. It is somewhere very special that is well hidden away but definitely worth finding.

We had a large family get together in Bournemouth (16 of us) and following a recommendation we booked the whole B&B for the stay, to celebrate a special birthday. Wow we really were impressed.The location is brilliant, off road parking, lovely rooms and decorations and the staff were wonderful allowing us to take over the place and giving us the privacy to all sit in the living room area during the evening.The food was great and they catered for our group giving us a Sunday morning breakfast and managing for a group that size can't be easy but it was faultlessly achieved.I would recommend this venue without hesitation both as a place to stay but also for somewhere to eat or even just pop in for a snack.If the weathers nice there is even a garden area you can sit in whilst having a drink and cake.We will be returning

As a regular customer of The Living Room Cafe I have to say the food and service is always consistently of an excellent standard.To the reviewer below, Swapna S, I was in the living room myself when your large party arrived.It was a joy to be sat near such a loud and noisy table.I particularly enjoyed waiting while despite the fact it was patiently explained to you that with one chef, they would do their very best to accommodate your requests but politely asked for your understanding with timings.I also enjoyed waiting and listening while every single member of your 11 strong party ordered off piste, chopping and changing your minds and asking for things that were not on the menu.I am pleased you recognised that the food served was indeed of superb quality as was mine, after I had waited about an hour while your party was served with all your food delivered at the same time in a friendly and professional manner.I could not believe my ears when one of your party started complaining and refusing to pay to the service charge (as stated on the menu) It's a shame you didn't feel it appropriate to treat the staff with the same respect and courtesy they afforded you.A little consideration goes a long way.

Lovely quaint restaurant, decor and setting was delightful. We'd pre-booked as a party of 10 but were seated on 2 tables (4 and 6) which was absolutely fine and were dealt with as separate tables. We ordered drinks and then food which we'd made some minor substitutions to (e.g. swapping halloumi for a sausage) which were taken down without any issues. Drinks came quickly and were lovely - I had the chai latte. We waited about 40 mins and had finished our hot drinks but none of our food had come out yet so we asked if it would be much longer but the response was that we'd made substitutions so therefore our food would take a lot longer and that our food was holding up the entire restaurant which was quite frankly very rude to say. If minor substitutions such as swapping a piece of halloumi for a sausage was such a problem, they should have stated that when taking the orders. They had one chef cooking for the entire restaurant and we had booked our tables in advance so they should have planned for that (maybe get another chef to help on busy days and don't blame your customers!). We were told our food would be out next, but a table behind us who came in after us were served first and finished their food and left before we finally got ours. As my plate of food was served to me, the waitress/manager decided to yet again voice how my substitution of halloumi for a sausage was the reason the food was delayed and continued to do so whilst walking away from the table which again was really rude, especially since I'd not even said anything to her! The food was alright, nothing spectacular unfortunately. The waffles were really hard to cut, not at all fluffy. Since we had terrible service from this one member of staff (the waiter who took our order and waitress making hot drinks were both very pleasant!) we didn't feel happy paying the service charge after being spoken to so rudely on multiple occasions. The waitress/manager told us that we should be grateful that they took our booking and that she had learnt her lesson and wouldn't take a booking like ours again! She even turned her back to one of our group who was trying to speak with her and told us to leave. I've never experienced such disgusting behaviour in a restaurant before and would therefore never recommend visiting The Living Room.

Menu here is amazing and worth a visit for something a little quirkier. We had 3 waitors/waitresses and two of them were very pleasant. The coffee/tea were all amazing, we had a group where a few of them swapped parts of their order, which didn't seem an issue as you can pay for extras and the waitors who took our order did not say there was an issue. We ended up in a uncomfortable situation with the manager who kept saying our order took ages due to the changes. When we asked to remove the service charge, which is our right, she told us that we were ungrateful and told us to leave. Quite surprised by the situation and think they should add please don't make changes to the order as it seemed to throw them over the edge. It's a shame as there positive aspects to the place. Also don't get the waffles, they were far too tough! Sourdough toast was much better apparently.

My daughter took me here for lunch and I have passed it many times but did not realise you could pop in for lunch or breakfast, (you can also have afternoon tea but need to book this). The food is excellent with different unusual choices of food, the also cater for gluten free and veggys. Everything is home made and truly delightful, I have been back since with friends and they will be telling their friends all about it.

I took my Nanny here to celebrate her and my birthday today and it was wonderful! Lovely service, beautiful setting and the best food. Really thought out and tasty treats, highly recommend!

I visit The Living Room as much as possible, the staff are absolutely brilliant and have me laughing every time i go. The food is second to none and i would eat there everyday if i didn't have to do such things as work. I am torn between telling people this amazing place exists and keeping it to myself as i don't want to share the food. Anyone who wants to eat a delicious and relaxed brunch should come here.The afternoon tea is fabulous, there is so much choice and everything is made from scratch. My friends and i have been to many places and we would rate this afternoon tea at the top of our list. I will be bringing my Mum and Grannie her soon as a treat.

We came across the Living Room by accident, just driving around looking for a place to eat with parking. T.he Living Room is quirkily decorated, with a mixture of styles and design. We order the Afternoon tea, but we're told that this has to be ordered in advance. So we settled for Sandwiches and a Cream Tea. Both were served on a timely basis, by very attentive and helpful staff. The food was excellent, and I would certainly visit again, if in the area.

A decadent delight with four small sandwiches, four mini cakes and a coupe of small scones with jam and cream. It was beautifully presented and served in lovely surroundings. There was a fine selection of tea or coffee to accompany the food. It's a bit expensive to have regularly, but as an occasional treat it's wonderful.

Really excellent food. My favourite is the veggie brunch, so tasty even as a meat eater. Wonderful staff and atmosphere.
