Thank you very much for the great service today, for the best squid I have eaten in the UK and, above all, for the honesty. When it turned out that we had paid the bill twice, me and my friend, the bartender followed us after a while and gave us the money back

Popped in as right in the main area and fancied a pizza. Good buzzy atmosphere. Ordered our drinks, then had to attract attention of staff to order food. Shared a pizza and side salad, pizza possibly one of the worst ever had, soggy base, literally no topping and covered in BBQ sauce, absolutely awful. Side salad consisted of soggy lettuce & couple of old olives. Gave feedback when they cleared plates but no gesture of goodwill to compensate for poor meal. Would not recommend for food, maybe a cocktail sitting outside when weather permits.

We went here before checking into our hotel for a bite to eat. They were advertising a full menu outside but when we went in they said they were only serving pizza and that the kitchen would open in half an hour (didn't make sense as there were lots of staff standing around). We ended up ordering a pizza to share as there wasn't time to go anywhere else. The pizza was thin, the topping was a bit sloppy and half the base was a bit burnt it was stonebaked so we assumed this was normal. Wasn't a nice experience maybe it will be better next time.

Visited in mid August and we’re presently surprised as the place has changed a lot since our last visit a few years back. Full choice menu and reasonably priced drinks! Added bonus we were able to bring along our small dog! We will be back again and would throughly recommend.

Had a delicious lunch here today with my family, My son has a Margarita Pizza, partner the big Quhuna burger and chips and mango mojito mocktail Myself - Steak sub with goats cheese & onion relish came with chips and a fruit punch mocktail. Food was absolutely delicious and well worth every penny. Ordering system so easy each table has a QR code. Sign into the WiFi, scan the QR code then choose what you want from the virtual menu and pay..food and drink then delivered. Minimal effort, great food well worth a visit

An employee stared at my girlfriend stupidly

I have never realised steak can be so small and thin, I think the cook got inspiration from a slice of bacon. The place is for mass tourists visiting Bmouth pier, eating the whatever-food and never returning. Rightly so.

Close to where we were for the day, it's a decent spot just to grab something quick and easy. It was not the best service as we had to ask different staff just to get more cutlery and sauces

We had a lovely time at hot rocks, the food was amazing and we had excellent service from Chloe who was lovely. Will definitely come back next time in Bournemouth

Stopped off for a break here after a touristy afternoon. 2 of the family went for a swim after a quick drink, the other two of us and Martha (our dog) waited for them at a table outside. Great drinks, AMAZING pizza - some of the best I've had in years - and really good attention to detail in terms of gluten from the point of view of the family member who has coeliac disease. Her chicken wings went down a treat! Excellent chilled out atmosphere, superb friendly service and a cracking location made for a lovely end to a week away. It's a shame we don't live nearby!

Really good service, very friendly and attentive staff. The menu was really varied and food was great. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu! Cocktails were good too.

I found this restaurant disappointing from start to finish. Where to start ... well lets start with getting into the place. Even this was poor - we arrived and they had a weird 'VIP rope' to allow people in and out. So we stood and waited for someone to let us in, in spite of there being numerous tables free. Finally we got let in and seated and went about ordering. Staff seemed friendly enough, but our waiter was not that clued up about the menu and allergies. I asked if I could have a burger but just remove the cheese. This was not possible ..?! Never heard of that ever before. So I ordered something else. The quality of what I ordered was really basic / average to poor. For the cost, I was pretty disappointed. I ate it as I was hungry and had a 5 mile walk home to our holiday let, but would never go back. My friends food was equally below par. We ate and left reasonably quickly. I would not go back again in a hurry I am afraid.

Great ambience, very friendly service and the food was fantastic. Fresh ingredients, beautifully prepared, a real treat! We'll definitely be back.

Good value, tasty food, friendly and efficient staff

I had been to this restaurant recently and must mention that it was great experience. Amazing service, delicious food and great ambiance. One of the best restaurants in and around beach. Must visit during summer.

For the past 7 years we've eaten and drank at hot Rocks (sometimes more than once a day lol) for our annual cheer weekend. Staff are absolutely superb, nothing is too much trouble and they go above and beyond to make you welcome. Brilliant food and THE BEST cocktails around, there's a reason it's our favourite spot in Bournemouth. Friendly warm atmosphere and guaranteed a wonderful experience, always! We only wished we lived nearer! Huge thanks once more to Di, Carlos and the amazing hot rocks. See you next year!

We’ve been going to Hotrocks as a group for the last 7 years whilst our girls compete at the international cheerleading competition at the BIC, we book on with Di for the Saturday night and very much look forward to eating & drinking here. Di was as accommodating as ever, we were waited on by Carlos who was brilliant, super friendly and keen to make sure we were all happy, all the servers were happy & helpful, the food and drinks were well priced. I highly recommend anyone to visit here when in Bournemouth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The place is great with an outdoor sitting area, the pizzas are Neapolitan style which gave a nice difference from the locals. Drinks were refreshing! Recommended.

Went in for a drink. Did not dine. Sat outside as lovely day. Ordered drinks, arrived 10 mins later. Waiter did not have a steady hand with his tray of drinks. When we got ours about 30% of what we ordered was spilt on the tray...! We sat next to a family with young kids. The 2 adults decided to smoke in front of their kids as well as people eating close to them. We requested to move tables as the smoke was blowing in our direction. I'm a smoker but I never will smoke in front of kids or people nearby as I respect other peoples rights not to breathe in my smoke. Why they let this happens is not right.

A very enjoyable family meal. We visited previously (before the fire a few years ago) and then again when it was in the process of reopening with a limited menu. Its great to see Hot Rocks fully functional and busy again. Friendly and efficient service and delicious food. Generous portion sizes. Our children enjoyed their mocktails! Lovely, relaxed vibe throughout.

Where can I start. Went onthe weekend to this place. The service was absolutely diabolical and the food was stone cold. When I complained the manager arrived and started being extremely aggressive - shouting and bawling. Could believe he was acting like this. It’s a good job my partner never saw him perform - or he would have been in the floor. Give this place an extremely wide birth and avoid like the plague. Way overpriced and junk food. The manager should never be in a customer facing role and would be better suited making the cold food in the kitchen. Never left poor review before - but this place certainly deserves it.

Pizza was great 5 years ago. Now, no spices, very little sauce, and toppings just thrown on at the end. Not cooked. No flavour. A disappointing pizza from previous.

Service was very polit e and prompt everyone had a smile. The food was excellent we had buffalo wings chilled beef in taco shell and mussels. Worth it.

We went in here after leaving a nearby fish restaurant (due to terrible service) and were pleasantly surprised - the food was good, the service was top notch and the price reasonable, if you're on the Bournemouth seafront and want a quick bite to eat - I couldn't recommend enough.

We walked up to the bar trying to figure out a way to get in - was just after 12pm on Tuesday 25th June. It was me and my partner and I’m pregnant. We saw a red rope next to the entrance sign and unclipped it to walk in - the indoor and outdoor areas were very quiet. A staff member walked up to us (young girl, brown hair, clumpy mascara) and said ‘ did someone let you in?’ That was our welcome. We shook our heads and she said, abruptly ‘ugh you’re supposed to wait for someone to let you in. So what is it you want? Do you want drinks or food or what?’ We replied ‘drinks please’. She started walking off and said, very dismissively well you can sit anywhere but not at these tables’ . Unsure where we could sit and thoroughly shocked and appalled at our treatment we just turned and walked out. I have no idea what her problem was. We barely said a word to the girl. That was our first encounter of service in Bournemouth. Really shocking.

It was the worst food I've ever eaten in my life. I insisted that I didn't want any spices because I was allergic to the food, but the food was spicy, and then a rude and rude man came and said hey it's just paper just paper.. I think his can't think and understand what's the allergies.. Terrible place, terrible food, rude employees. Also, the worst pizza I've ever eaten in my life, ready and poor quality ingredients, raw tomato sauce made me nauseous.

Stylish restaurant with delicious food!

Came here before and it was awful. Went last night and it was much the same. Poor and slow service with an empty bar. The cocktails were vile and a disgrace to the name “cocktail”. Mixologist needs firing or the staff training 😂. Will not return

This place is situated right next to the beach and had a cool vibe to it. Me and my husband visited it without putting much thought into ‘where to eat dinner’ and were pleasantly surprised by the taste and the quality of the food. The person who owns the place is also polite and friendly. It’s definitely better worth than some of the pizza places in our town. If you’re a tourist visiting Bournemouth, try this place! We first ordered hot chocolate as the cool breeze nearly froze our face. It was served with a lotus biscoff biscuit. We also demolished our Pizza and Cheesy Garlic Bread and hence didn’t take any pictures. Lastly, we ate Tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious.

Bought a takeaway pizza which should have had BBQ sauce on it. The pizza tasted completely tasteless with no BBQ sauce. I took it to the hotel and couldn't go back to exchange it. I called the place up and ended up on answer phone. One of the worst pizza I have eaten. Not worth the money or time

So many beachfront cafes are just plain rubbish. This is surprisingly good, clean, well prepared and had healthy choices. The service was very friendly and the sun shone! What better!

We popped in for a drink on a rainy day and ended up staying for food. The restaurant looks quite new inside and is fresh in its decor and style. We was made to feel very welcome even though we had 2 pushchairs. The menu choice was vast for drinks which was most welcomed whilst our children slept ☺️ We both had a pizza which was made fresh in their pizza oven which were really good. The service was attentive but not rushed. The value for money was great, we would definitely recommend.

We asked for a table for two, the gentleman who let us in, did not smile and shoved us in a corner, cramped under fake plants on a lovely day when other tables were free. We are seniors, maybe he didn’t want us there? It worked we didn’t stay. Won’t go back. Went across the road to another bar and were treated with dignity.

The bathroom is clean and tidy. It's easy to eat. 😊

Didn't eat in here but just walked in to have a drink with ny girlfriend and i was told to scan the barcode to order so i did they wanted name surname email phone number so that just put me of i ask one of the staff if i can order on the bar he very rude told me NO with a non friendly tone .but this is not all on the next table was a famiy with little kids and they moving round. I heard the manager or someone in charge telling them of or they not going to get served.i walked out very disappointed

Customer service is appalling. The staff don’t even speak to you when you say hello. Have to wait about 30 minutes for one cocktail I would avoid at all cost do not come.

NEVER EVER EAT HERE! my family and I ate here yesterday we were all Violently sick the whole night. The worst poisoning we've ever had. A minus 5 stars would be generous

This review is just for what I saw while waiting to be served. A bar staff refused to serve a young black family because there children where walking round the table which is very normal for the children there age. I listened to the which looks like one of the children's dad explained that his been waiting for a while to be served and staff just refused to serve his kids the dad clearly stated that all he wanted was for his 3 maybe 4 Yr old daughter to be fed and he refused to serve the girl which I from where I was seated couldn't see why this was I then got up and left the restaurant.

Nice place by the beach, we stopped there just for a drink, but the service and atmosphere were cool.

Staff manager questions why our kids are walking around n would refuse to serve us and when we tried to order I was refused to serve us. The only reason I could see was our kids of colour and when I looked around I saw other kids which happened to be white and I noticed that he didn't say or approach there parents the same way of the kids of colour. Very bad management and I wouldn't recommend this place to eat just for the fact of the way we was approached.

Nice and chilled. Staff are friendly and on point. I order bbq Chicken wings, I must say they are the best Meaty Wings I've had un a while, and very tasty. Can't believe I haven't eaten here sooner. They are also Pet Friendly...u could also bring ya kids; as long as they're well behaved 😂

Had my Mum's 80th Birthday lunch in Hot Rocks, there staff were fantastic, the food was great. The staff singing happy birthday were slightly more tuneful than the family but the effort was appreciated. Highly recommend 5*.

Just had some pizza and there was 12.5% automatically added to the bill. Didn't realise until after we left when we thought the bill was high. We left a cash tip not realising. We were regulars here but won't be back.

Feeling ripped off, I've never been to a restaurant that adds vat to the bill after the price on the menu

We went here for a family lunch. The place looks good from outside but it's a bit weird that you have to wait outside for a table. Once inside all was good. Good service (a bit confused as I ordered in the app but ordered drinks from a person, all went well though). I had the hot dog which was not only massive but really tasty.

Really enjoyed our lunch here, so much so came again the next day! My partner and I had some Subs with chips and they were super tasty and a great portion. Fair price too. Was a little wait for food and one of our group had their pizza served and had almost finished it by the time the rest of the tables food arrived, but overall really good grub and would (and did!) go again.

We visited for an early dinner, the atmosphere was buzzy and fun. We started by sharing a camenbert which was out of this world! An absolute must if you like cheese! We then had a mixture of pizza and curry dishes. Staff where really friendly and helpful, allowing us to tweak topping on pizzas etc. Just couldn't do enough to help. Highly recommend Sanjha Masala! We washed food down with cocktails, (and mocktails) fantastic yummy! Definatley worth a trip

The only plus was getting a table within 5 minutes. Waitress couldn’t remember our order of 3 different pizzas. Two arrived , then the third after about ten minutes. Another was brought over ten minutes after that. We didn’t accept it, one because we hadn’t ordered it and two, they were so awful we definitely didn’t want any extra… Thin base , overcooked with charred, bubbly dry crust. Just horrible. Overpriced because of beach location. My partner asked what starters were available… Waitress looked blank and said they didn’t really do starters but we could have the bread and olives…. More dry pizza crust with no seasoning or butter and a large bowl of soggy, canned olives. Don’t do it. Stick with Pizza Express……

We ordered via the app luke they ask for. Drinks came very quickly. After 40 minutes if waiting for food, I spoke to the manager to find out he cancelled the order because they ran out of pulled pork. What they failed to do was actually inform us of this, nor carry on and order the other food! He did say he would refund the food and gave a reluctant apology. I'm sure our experience would have been better if the manager was better at his job!

Visited today for nephews birthday. Large group of adults and young children. We had a great area to ourselves which was ideal with the children. Staff could not have been more accommodating and welcoming.Nothing was too much trouble, fantastic service and so fast with drinks and food. We were a large group and all ordered separately with our lovely waiter, who I believe was the manager. Was no problem to split the bills and all pay separately which was ideal. Food was good we had pizza, burgers wraps which were all delicious and kids enjoyed their chicken nuggets and chips. Overall a great experience, would highly recommend.

First visit here since covid. Can't comment on food as we only had drinks, but this is still the nice place I remember. Ordering is easy via QR code at the table. Atmosphere is nice - a slight view of the sea, but segregated enough behind glass panels and potted palm trees. Some nice relaxing music being piped through the speakers. Prices are about average (£9 - £10 for a large Sav Blanc). Will be back.

We only stopped for drinks. The pizzas look very tasty and are Italian style so no American deep pan (thank goodness). The staff are friendly and efficient.

Went here for lunch with members of my family to celebrate a birthday. Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent pizza but far too much so took some home. My pina colada went down a treat! Recommend Hot Rocks. Thankyou to you all for a very pleasant first time experience.

Found the staff unhelpful and unapologetic for the lacanau steak frites(flattened steak and fries) which was tough as old boots. As soon as I tried to cut into it,I had to ask for another steak knife as this one seemed to be blunt. With the response from the Manager that that was the sharpest one they had, then walked away. I tried to wade through some of it. When mentioned politely that the steak was tough again, no apology or amendment to the bill. So I was basically charged £17.95 for a plate of chips. I would have given 1 star, however my Husband and Aunt enjoyed their pizza.

The girl with long dark hair and hoop earrings earlier this afternoon has a disrespectful attitude towards people with disabilities and learning disabilities clearly needs some equality and diversity awareness training. Didn’t engage with us merely grunted about our order. Looked down on us making myself and my brother feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. . Very reluctant to go again will be telling all my friends about this experience.

The food absolutely lovely! We popped in with my 2 younger nieces for a quick couple of pizzas to share before heading to the wonderland! Food all good, the lad who cleared our plates said he would bring me the bill once I asked and he was polite and brought the bill. Then the girl decided we were paying immediately. At this point I was stood at the next table with my 2 nieces whilst they said hello to the cutest dog, my teenage daughter was at the table. My daughter called me, the waitress stood and stared at me with card machine in hand with the vilest look on her face. I said I’ll pay in one minute and she carried on standing and staring until I felt obliged to pay. I hadn’t finished my drink and my daughter wanted to pop to the loo before we left. She said not 1 word to me, just an awful look on her face like I was a piece of dirt! She paced the receipt across the table and swished her pony tail as she walked away. We waited outside for my daughter who still needed the toilet, felt so unwelcome. The girl had dark hair, hooped earrings and an accent. She needs some really training in customer service as hers is abysmal!

We had a good meal here. The cocktails we had were all really nice and the food was good too. The pizzas were good and so was the service. It was good to be able to take the dogs too

Had been here once before, years ago, and was delighted to see it still there! We had come to the coast for a get away. Warm friendly welcome, lovely staff and fab food! Thank you Manoj for looking after us!

We only stopped for coffee and sat outside, patio heater was turned on whilst we were there which was lovely. The young man who welcomed us to the establishment was very friendly and checked in on us a couple of times, i ordered from him and then later on via the app which was so simple to use, just take a photo of the table QR code and rest is simple. Also, used the bathroom whilst there and I was pleasantly surprised with how clean they were. Well done, a lovely restaurant, wish we hadnt eaten earlier as the pizza smelled delicious

Some unusual flavours to cheer up standard burger fare; that turned out great; very good pizza. Water more expensive than pop drinks (i hate that); 12.5% service charge added automatically (i hate that too). Oh, allergens should be clearly marked on the menu

I must say the ribs at hot rocks are the best I have ever tried, if you’re looking for ribs then hot rocks is the place to be!

My husband and I had a meal here on 15.09.23 We went for our 18th wedding anniversary. We had the best meal and the staff were brilliant so friendly our waitress was fantastic and left a well deserved tip. It’s absolutely beautiful inside and out and I would highly recommend eating there.

Food is not tasty at all. Don even bother to order dessert because that was an even bigger disappointment. 🤢🤢🤢did not finish my meal neither dessert 😐I not sure what I paid for. 4 years ego was much better something had changed...however service is Okey and atmosphere is very nice, but not worthy because of food 🤢

Delicious Neapolitan pizza, particularly the capricciosa. Thin, with toppings which render weight to the pizza, flavoursome, great size. Array of cocktails is wonderful, not too sweet Service is speedy, polite waiters, clean location and surroundings. There’s a vast selection on the menu, for those who don’t only want pizza. Good price.

We been kick off bicouse was as 10 people. Even after please them to sit separately. Never again. They were rude. We been waiting one hour to be open.

Absolutely amazing my partner has the kahuna burger & I had the beef chilli food so delicious. Staff very friendly we sat outside it was amazing. Thankyou for making our trip to you a pleasant one we have been a few times & its always been amazing we will see you again nxt year can't wait xx

Was a little unsure of stopping here for food as in my experience any thing that close to the beach can be expensive and disappointing Actually a really nice relaxed atmosphere and staff where friendly helpful and really seemed to enjoy working there Wakeem and Kelly where especially nice professional and helpful The noodles I had where quiet nice and a really good amount of prawns but the pizza was exceptionally good Very pleasantly surprised would definitely recommend and go again

Would not recommend at all. Bad,cold food on top of bad service. After paing the bill they bringed us the receipt just to see that we ve been charged "discretionary 12.5% service charge" without being asked. So i've asked the staff what is that charge and they replied what? Is somethimg normal to be charged tips without being asked. Like I was some kind of fool. So would not visit again and would advise to be specific if you wish to give tips or not otherwise you are good to pay.

As not 1 staff member acknowledged us stood at the barrier waiting to be seated, (even though none of them were doing anything,) after 10 minutes of being totally ignored, , we gave up and went elsewhere, not before 1 member of staff said bye!! (Sarcastically rude) Shame as we’re locals and will not recommend to anyone! Your loss 🤷🏼‍♀️

Only came for drinks however the food did smell amazing. Lovely atmosphere, nice out door seating where you can over look the sea. Order drinks via a QR code and service was quick. Only down side was the price, just under £20 for two cocktails. Although they were nice the price definitely put me off. Maybe if they did a happy hour or a 2 for 1 deal it would have made us order a few more rounds. Other than that a lovely place.

Very disappointing. We went there to dine in and there was just the 3 of us. They said there were no seats available in the inside part of the resto and the seats outside are wet since it was raining which that is understandable. After we left, they let 2 groups inside who were coming from the rain as well. I guess they assumed that we were soaked since we have a towel over our head since its raining. But were completely dry and just covering our heads with a towel. Very discriminating and what a lousy staff. Didn't even bother to ask or explain and pretty much they just assumed. There were two of them we talked to and that just very unacceptable.

First day of our holiday and stopped off at Hot Rocks. The burger was amazing! Chips were good too. The service was quick and staff were very friendly. Would definitely recommend. Empty plates and happy customers!! 😊

I have been to Hot Rocks several times as my parents live nearby and it’s their favourite restaurant, for which I can see why. The foods are delicious plus it feels like home as it’s friendly with wonderful staff. I am so happy it has re-opened, they have been through a lot and I feel proud for them to have done such a good job with the beautiful recovery of what was always a delightful place. A new idea they have had is special cocktails which are rather magical and fit in well with the special touches that this places provides. Thank you all 😄

Disgusting service and also massive attitude towards my 82 yr old father who struggled ordering on App … we live in Bournemouth and will not be going there again

Beautiful decors and interior. Nice pizzeria, cocktail bar and restaurant. Situated in a really good location near Bournemouth Pier, it gives access to all the surrounding areas right in the middle of the seafront. Pizzas are stunning 😍 and cocktails are great too. Highly recommend a visit. Summer vibes 👍🏻😊

Couldn’t have had a nicer afternoon. The mussels are AMAZING! Great Beaverton IPA on tap and wonderfully strong long islands. Good American pop chill music! Oh, and beautiful servers. (MEN and women 🙃) I came twice in between rainstorms and they found me a table both times. (It was just me, so that makes it a little easier 😃). Highly recommend this spot.

Food came and was disgusting. Chicken wings were tasteless, not fresh. We also ordered kata noi: the rice was hard, pompadour were soggy. Whetherspoon does better Thai food than this place. To add up to the experience, I went to speak to the manager (28/07/23)...

Went to this spot on 8th July. Food was served late as we finished our drinks way before the food arrived, but the food was nice. Service was terrible, and the manager rudely asked why we wouldn’t pay for the “discretionary 10% service charge” and...

Went there on busy Sunday morning. Food wasn't that good for the price I've paid. Coffee nice. Staff was overstretched, seeing all the drama around going on, with wrong food send to wrong table, some customers not served for ages and so on... it killed all overlooking and relaxing feeling.

We weren’t waiting long before being seated. Staff were friendly and helpful. Pizza was unreal! Served quickly and fresh , super flavourful and reasonably priced. Mock tails were delicious and refreshing on a hot day and you MUST try the lemon posset 🤤 So glad we popped by!

Location is their calling card. Stood on the other side of a barrier waiting to be seated, but was there about 5 minutes without even being acknowledged. Was finally seated, and couldn’t get the QR code ordering to work. After ordering at the bar, received my drink and food quickly, but no napkins or utensils were provided. Several failed attempts at getting a server’s attention to get just a napkin, and here I am leaving a 3 star review. The sandwich was okay, and the beer was cold.

Lovely Red Thai and veggie patty. Great margaritas..
