Three of us had a Luau chicken, a pepperoni and a Margherita washed down with 3 pints of Pepsi. Good food and excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere on the terrace.

We went here for a drink and lunch the atmosphere was great staff was really friendly let our two small doggies in we spotted the pizza wood burner so we ordered a pizza and can tell you me and my partner both said was the nicest pizza we have ever had we got a margarita the outside area is also nice too bad we visited in the cold

Good place for a quick bite at Bournemouth Pier. Famous for their pizzas, which was good. Also tried the Fully Loaded Barrel dog, which was spectacular. Good experience

We had an amazing experience here (Halloween night) only had Pizzas for a family of 4, but the service, ambience, music and food were second to none, big shout to the waitress, smallish lady with dark hair who was a force of nature 10/10 thank you

Day out with family and found this place on a Google search. Excellent food. Good price. Dog friendly. Lovely atmosphere with music playing. Free fast WiFi. We sat outside but inside is also lovely. Would definitely visit again.

The restaurant is located right in front of the beach, so it is easily accessible. You can taste food from various countries.

A friend and i popped in here for some lunch. I had a pizza and my friend had the mussels. Both were delicious. The service was attentive and the setting was lovely. We sat inside due to the weather. Highly recommend.

Forgot to engage brain. Ginger waiter was rude and racist. There were two tables for two and there was not enough brain cell friction to join the tables to seat us together. Food was disgusting

Thank you very much for the great service today, for the best squid I have eaten in the UK and, above all, for the honesty. When it turned out that we had paid the bill twice, me and my friend, the bartender followed us after a while and gave us the money back

Update 2024 - still amazingly tasty but simple traditional pizzas with the best flavours and ingredients. Lovely staff too. We come back every year if we can. 2021 - Great service and nice atmosphere. You can see the sea. Pizzas are amazingly authentic- very light and crispy base. Cocktails also very good. Will be back (again 👍🍻)

Popped in as right in the main area and fancied a pizza. Good buzzy atmosphere. Ordered our drinks, then had to attract attention of staff to order food. Shared a pizza and side salad, pizza possibly one of the worst ever had, soggy base, literally no topping and covered in BBQ sauce, absolutely awful. Side salad consisted of soggy lettuce & couple of old olives. Gave feedback when they cleared plates but no gesture of goodwill to compensate for poor meal. Would not recommend for food, maybe a cocktail sitting outside when weather permits.

We went here before checking into our hotel for a bite to eat. They were advertising a full menu outside but when we went in they said they were only serving pizza and that the kitchen would open in half an hour (didn't make sense as there were lots of staff standing around). We ended up ordering a pizza to share as there wasn't time to go anywhere else. The pizza was thin, the topping was a bit sloppy and half the base was a bit burnt it was stonebaked so we assumed this was normal. Wasn't a nice experience maybe it will be better next time.

Visited in mid August and we’re presently surprised as the place has changed a lot since our last visit a few years back. Full choice menu and reasonably priced drinks! Added bonus we were able to bring along our small dog! We will be back again and would throughly recommend.

Had a delicious lunch here today with my family, My son has a Margarita Pizza, partner the big Quhuna burger and chips and mango mojito mocktail Myself - Steak sub with goats cheese & onion relish came with chips and a fruit punch mocktail. Food was absolutely delicious and well worth every penny. Ordering system so easy each table has a QR code. Sign into the WiFi, scan the QR code then choose what you want from the virtual menu and pay..food and drink then delivered. Minimal effort, great food well worth a visit

Went here last night and it was excellent, the food was lovely and ar a reasonable price comparison to other restaurants in the area... only one thing is my friend wanted mussels but they were out of stock but next time hopefully they'll have them in. The staff were really friendly and helpful but the best thing was the atmosphere of the place on a nice summers day with lovely music playing was great and will be returning.

The BEST pepperoni pizza EVER!! Oh my god it was awesome. We went back three days on the bounce 🤣 Fabulous choice of music and the wine glasses were huge 🙌 fabulous atmosphere outside and loved the palm trees . Well worth a visit

Beware 12.5% service charge is added to the bill,without any prior warning. Steak was very thin and not much of it.Special instructions not followed dor the burger meal. Wont be returning anytime soon.

guys are stressed out no proper service the food came before the drinks by the time i waited for drinks food was already cold. on the menu it says neapolitan pizza but pizza was undercooked i had got my girlfriend with me she has put her braces so she asked for the steak knife to cut the pizza but they were so rude and acting as if asked to give free food but it’s jus the knife because butter knife was not doing the job. but they were shocked because they judging people without knowing the problem why we asked the knife it’s a real disappointment never coming back

Whilst I wasn't a customer for food or drink, I visited here asking where the best place to get a taxi was. Chloe was really kind and said she would happily order a taxi for me and my family of 5. Avoiding the storm that was on its way. Great member of staff with a customer friendly attitude.

Go there early as they appear to close when it suits them. Closing time supposedly 11pm on Sunday. We turned up before 10pm and already roped off.

The pizzas are excellent!! The Italian pizza itself!!

The meat of the burger is extremely uncooked, we asked it to be changed and they sent us someone to try to convince us that is was okay, quite pricey for what you get.

Popped into Hot Rocks while visiting bournemouth Beach. Have to say the service was first class. From walking up and being show our table to the service we received. Staff were amazing and food was first class. I went for the Big Kahuna, fancied a bit of beef, and my wife had the Shark Island vegi option. Children opted for chicken nuggets and fries. If you’re in bournemouth beach would definitely recommend going to Hot Rocks.

The nice staff was Lucia because she was so help full and consistent with the customer service, unlike some other staff that was not helpful and rude but Lucia was so nice and always walking out with a smile on her face The general manager was also good and said he would have a word with the rude stuff

From the moment I walked in with my friends the service was amazing. Dimitri was more than professional, really nice and helped me chose my food by considering my preferences. All the other staff were supper nice and provided amazing service as well. All the food was extremely tasty (the best calamari I have ever had). The drinks were also really good. I am super happy with my experience there and therefore writing this review. I strongly recommend the place.

Really good food, one of best burgers ever had and really nice pizza too

As a completely spare of the moment choice to visit HotRocks to eat during the evening, we was not disappointed. We were sat quickly and ordered our drinks and food without any hassle. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food came out without a length of waiting for it. Omg the burger was amazing! Background music, with the evening sun disappearing, we felt relaxed and comfortable. Definitely eat here again!

My husband and I ate wonderful chicken and potatoes outside. something wonderful for the palate. Yes, you have to wait. But if you want to eat something delicious, you have to wait. Nice and outstanding service. My husband and I recommend it

Went there with a group of friends. Nice atmosphere (we sat outside with a nice weather) and the food was decent but the service from some of the waiters was very dismissive. Took us 3 waiters just to finally get some tap water and sauces… not sure if I’d come back.

Lovely food and cocktails at Hot Rocks with a great view too. However, the best thing was the service, especially from the lovely Chloe whose bright and jolly demeanor and friendly check ins were absolutely spot on.

Had a table outside for some beers and when we pulled up another chair for one of our group we were told we had to move to a table in the shade as the table wasn’t for 5!!!..we refused to move and had to leave as the manager became very surly and unreasonable ..there were loads of tables free so absolutely no need to move us but I suppose he just had a problem with us having a nice time..I have never been asked to move before and am gobsmacked at the utterly reprehensible customer service..l will never waste my time and money going back there again You should do the same

I have never realised steak can be so small and thin, I think the cook got inspiration from a slice of bacon. The place is for mass tourists visiting Bmouth pier, eating the whatever-food and never returning. Rightly so.

Close to where we were for the day, it's a decent spot just to grab something quick and easy. It was not the best service as we had to ask different staff just to get more cutlery and sauces

Stopped off for a break here after a touristy afternoon. 2 of the family went for a swim after a quick drink, the other two of us and Martha (our dog) waited for them at a table outside. Great drinks, AMAZING pizza - some of the best I've had in years - and really good attention to detail in terms of gluten from the point of view of the family member who has coeliac disease. Her chicken wings went down a treat! Excellent chilled out atmosphere, superb friendly service and a cracking location made for a lovely end to a week away. It's a shame we don't live nearby!

I found this restaurant disappointing from start to finish. Where to start ... well lets start with getting into the place. Even this was poor - we arrived and they had a weird 'VIP rope' to allow people in and out. So we stood and waited for someone to let us in, in spite of there being numerous tables free. Finally we got let in and seated and went about ordering. Staff seemed friendly enough, but our waiter was not that clued up about the menu and allergies. I asked if I could have a burger but just remove the cheese. This was not possible ..?! Never heard of that ever before. So I ordered something else. The quality of what I ordered was really basic / average to poor. For the cost, I was pretty disappointed. I ate it as I was hungry and had a 5 mile walk home to our holiday let, but would never go back. My friends food was equally below par. We ate and left reasonably quickly. I would not go back again in a hurry I am afraid.

I had been to this restaurant recently and must mention that it was great experience. Amazing service, delicious food and great ambiance. One of the best restaurants in and around beach. Must visit during summer.

We’ve been going to Hotrocks as a group for the last 7 years whilst our girls compete at the international cheerleading competition at the BIC, we book on with Di for the Saturday night and very much look forward to eating & drinking here. Di was as accommodating as ever, we were waited on by Carlos who was brilliant, super friendly and keen to make sure we were all happy, all the servers were happy & helpful, the food and drinks were well priced. I highly recommend anyone to visit here when in Bournemouth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For the past 7 years we've eaten and drank at hot Rocks (sometimes more than once a day lol) for our annual cheer weekend. Staff are absolutely superb, nothing is too much trouble and they go above and beyond to make you welcome. Brilliant food and THE BEST cocktails around, there's a reason it's our favourite spot in Bournemouth. Friendly warm atmosphere and guaranteed a wonderful experience, always! We only wished we lived nearer! Huge thanks once more to Di, Carlos and the amazing hot rocks. See you next year!

The place is great with an outdoor sitting area, the pizzas are Neapolitan style which gave a nice difference from the locals. Drinks were refreshing! Recommended.

Went in for a drink. Did not dine. Sat outside as lovely day. Ordered drinks, arrived 10 mins later. Waiter did not have a steady hand with his tray of drinks. When we got ours about 30% of what we ordered was spilt on the tray...! We sat next to a family with young kids. The 2 adults decided to smoke in front of their kids as well as people eating close to them. We requested to move tables as the smoke was blowing in our direction. I'm a smoker but I never will smoke in front of kids or people nearby as I respect other peoples rights not to breathe in my smoke. Why they let this happens is not right.

A very enjoyable family meal. We visited previously (before the fire a few years ago) and then again when it was in the process of reopening with a limited menu. Its great to see Hot Rocks fully functional and busy again. Friendly and efficient service and delicious food. Generous portion sizes. Our children enjoyed their mocktails! Lovely, relaxed vibe throughout.

Where can I start. Went onthe weekend to this place. The service was absolutely diabolical and the food was stone cold. When I complained the manager arrived and started being extremely aggressive - shouting and bawling. Could believe he was acting like this. It’s a good job my partner never saw him perform - or he would have been in the floor. Give this place an extremely wide birth and avoid like the plague. Way overpriced and junk food. The manager should never be in a customer facing role and would be better suited making the cold food in the kitchen. Never left poor review before - but this place certainly deserves it.

Pizza was great 5 years ago. Now, no spices, very little sauce, and toppings just thrown on at the end. Not cooked. No flavour. A disappointing pizza from previous.

Service was very polit e and prompt everyone had a smile. The food was excellent we had buffalo wings chilled beef in taco shell and mussels. Worth it.

We went in here after leaving a nearby fish restaurant (due to terrible service) and were pleasantly surprised - the food was good, the service was top notch and the price reasonable, if you're on the Bournemouth seafront and want a quick bite to eat - I couldn't recommend enough.

We walked up to the bar trying to figure out a way to get in - was just after 12pm on Tuesday 25th June. It was me and my partner and I’m pregnant. We saw a red rope next to the entrance sign and unclipped it to walk in - the indoor and outdoor areas were very quiet. A staff member walked up to us (young girl, brown hair, clumpy mascara) and said ‘ did someone let you in?’ That was our welcome. We shook our heads and she said, abruptly ‘ugh you’re supposed to wait for someone to let you in. So what is it you want? Do you want drinks or food or what?’ We replied ‘drinks please’. She started walking off and said, very dismissively well you can sit anywhere but not at these tables’ . Unsure where we could sit and thoroughly shocked and appalled at our treatment we just turned and walked out. I have no idea what her problem was. We barely said a word to the girl. That was our first encounter of service in Bournemouth. Really shocking.

It was the worst food I've ever eaten in my life. I insisted that I didn't want any spices because I was allergic to the food, but the food was spicy, and then a rude and rude man came and said hey it's just paper just paper.. I think his can't think and understand what's the allergies.. Terrible place, terrible food, rude employees. Also, the worst pizza I've ever eaten in my life, ready and poor quality ingredients, raw tomato sauce made me nauseous.

Stylish restaurant with delicious food!

This place is situated right next to the beach and had a cool vibe to it. Me and my husband visited it without putting much thought into ‘where to eat dinner’ and were pleasantly surprised by the taste and the quality of the food. The person who owns the place is also polite and friendly. It’s definitely better worth than some of the pizza places in our town. If you’re a tourist visiting Bournemouth, try this place! We first ordered hot chocolate as the cool breeze nearly froze our face. It was served with a lotus biscoff biscuit. We also demolished our Pizza and Cheesy Garlic Bread and hence didn’t take any pictures. Lastly, we ate Tiramisu for dessert and it was delicious.

Came here before and it was awful. Went last night and it was much the same. Poor and slow service with an empty bar. The cocktails were vile and a disgrace to the name “cocktail”. Mixologist needs firing or the staff training 😂. Will not return

Bought a takeaway pizza which should have had BBQ sauce on it. The pizza tasted completely tasteless with no BBQ sauce. I took it to the hotel and couldn't go back to exchange it. I called the place up and ended up on answer phone. One of the worst pizza I have eaten. Not worth the money or time

So many beachfront cafes are just plain rubbish. This is surprisingly good, clean, well prepared and had healthy choices. The service was very friendly and the sun shone! What better!

We popped in for a drink on a rainy day and ended up staying for food. The restaurant looks quite new inside and is fresh in its decor and style. We was made to feel very welcome even though we had 2 pushchairs. The menu choice was vast for drinks which was most welcomed whilst our children slept ☺️ We both had a pizza which was made fresh in their pizza oven which were really good. The service was attentive but not rushed. The value for money was great, we would definitely recommend.

We asked for a table for two, the gentleman who let us in, did not smile and shoved us in a corner, cramped under fake plants on a lovely day when other tables were free. We are seniors, maybe he didn’t want us there? It worked we didn’t stay. Won’t go back. Went across the road to another bar and were treated with dignity.

The bathroom is clean and tidy. It's easy to eat. 😊

Didn't eat in here but just walked in to have a drink with ny girlfriend and i was told to scan the barcode to order so i did they wanted name surname email phone number so that just put me of i ask one of the staff if i can order on the bar he very rude told me NO with a non friendly tone .but this is not all on the next table was a famiy with little kids and they moving round. I heard the manager or someone in charge telling them of or they not going to get served.i walked out very disappointed

Nice place by the beach, we stopped there just for a drink, but the service and atmosphere were cool.

Staff manager questions why our kids are walking around n would refuse to serve us and when we tried to order I was refused to serve us. The only reason I could see was our kids of colour and when I looked around I saw other kids which happened to be white and I noticed that he didn't say or approach there parents the same way of the kids of colour. Very bad management and I wouldn't recommend this place to eat just for the fact of the way we was approached.

This review is just for what I saw while waiting to be served. A bar staff refused to serve a young black family because there children where walking round the table which is very normal for the children there age. I listened to the which looks like one of the children's dad explained that his been waiting for a while to be served and staff just refused to serve his kids the dad clearly stated that all he wanted was for his 3 maybe 4 Yr old daughter to be fed and he refused to serve the girl which I from where I was seated couldn't see why this was I then got up and left the restaurant.

Just seen a very rare racist 😳 behaviour in this restaurant wouldn't be coming here again wouldn't advise as people get treated differently due to the colour of there skin extremely bad management

Nice and chilled. Staff are friendly and on point. I order bbq Chicken wings, I must say they are the best Meaty Wings I've had un a while, and very tasty. Can't believe I haven't eaten here sooner. They are also Pet Friendly...u could also bring ya kids; as long as they're well behaved 😂

Had my Mum's 80th Birthday lunch in Hot Rocks, there staff were fantastic, the food was great. The staff singing happy birthday were slightly more tuneful than the family but the effort was appreciated. Highly recommend 5*.

Just had some pizza and there was 12.5% automatically added to the bill. Didn't realise until after we left when we thought the bill was high. We left a cash tip not realising. We were regulars here but won't be back.

Feeling ripped off, I've never been to a restaurant that adds vat to the bill after the price on the menu

We went here for a family lunch. The place looks good from outside but it's a bit weird that you have to wait outside for a table. Once inside all was good. Good service (a bit confused as I ordered in the app but ordered drinks from a person, all went well though). I had the hot dog which was not only massive but really tasty.

Really enjoyed our lunch here, so much so came again the next day! My partner and I had some Subs with chips and they were super tasty and a great portion. Fair price too. Was a little wait for food and one of our group had their pizza served and had almost finished it by the time the rest of the tables food arrived, but overall really good grub and would (and did!) go again.

We visited for an early dinner, the atmosphere was buzzy and fun. We started by sharing a camenbert which was out of this world! An absolute must if you like cheese! We then had a mixture of pizza and curry dishes. Staff where really friendly and helpful, allowing us to tweak topping on pizzas etc. Just couldn't do enough to help. Highly recommend Sanjha Masala! We washed food down with cocktails, (and mocktails) fantastic yummy! Definatley worth a trip

The only plus was getting a table within 5 minutes. Waitress couldn’t remember our order of 3 different pizzas. Two arrived , then the third after about ten minutes. Another was brought over ten minutes after that. We didn’t accept it, one because we hadn’t ordered it and two, they were so awful we definitely didn’t want any extra… Thin base , overcooked with charred, bubbly dry crust. Just horrible. Overpriced because of beach location. My partner asked what starters were available… Waitress looked blank and said they didn’t really do starters but we could have the bread and olives…. More dry pizza crust with no seasoning or butter and a large bowl of soggy, canned olives. Don’t do it. Stick with Pizza Express……

We ordered via the app luke they ask for. Drinks came very quickly. After 40 minutes if waiting for food, I spoke to the manager to find out he cancelled the order because they ran out of pulled pork. What they failed to do was actually inform us of this, nor carry on and order the other food! He did say he would refund the food and gave a reluctant apology. I'm sure our experience would have been better if the manager was better at his job!
