Had breakfast in here was delicious and the service is spot on would highly recommend coming here

Came in to meet our daughter for lunch what can I say about John he was absolutely amazing his helpless and friendliness was absolutely 100percent the place was so clean the lad never stopped your an absolute credit to the company and by the way only ordered 2 bacon on toast and a tuna jacket but the food was absolutely lovely and good value for money it's our daughters birthday next Wednesdayso can't wait to meet up in her dinner hour and come to the Liverpool for lunch John is simply the very bestxxx

I am almost blind and upon arriving at the Liverpool was told by the door staff I was too drunk to go inside. Wow I needed assistance to get around and I was with my friends who couldn't believe what they heard.

Called in tonight for food. Barman didn't know what pie of the day was but we ordered it anyway along with scouse. The pie had exact filling of the scouse with mash on top and potato and carrot. Seasonal veg was peas overheated in microwave. The meat in the scouse had no two pieces the same the potato and veg had been frozen in fact imo it was a mix if leftovers frozen and defrosted and served as required. My crusty roll was a half of ciabatta toasted. Steer clear!

We always call in here when we are over in Liverpool, it's a cracking atmosphere and all the people that work there and go there are decent ....top marks

Breakfast great value, excellent service. Tried to go in the Wetherspoons opposite initially 'The Captain Alexander' but was packed, noisy. The Liverpool was ideal for us with a good atmosphere.

A bit of a let down this time. We have been before and it was always good. This time we order and got our hot drinks but waited for over 40 mins for our food. They apologised and we got our food which was ok apart from the toast which was not toast it was bread which had been shown to the toaster very briefly. We did get another hot drink free. I would say get a better system so customers are not forgotten oh and toast the bread.

Called in for a drink during my sisters Hen Night Out had a lovely time. The singer made her night! Thank you to all who contributed to making our time here great

Guy on the bar really couldn’t care that anyone was there. We were ignored for a long time then he was utterly miserable and rude when there was an issue with payment (his mistake). We ordered food and got some very questionable tomatoes which I would never have served and a coffee made with milk that was sat out the entire time we were there. Woman who served us from the kitchen (blonde) was the only one who was helpful.

Food was quite tasty, atmosphere was friendly.

Was interrogated by the "door staff" as if I was a suicide bomber because I had a backpack on. I carry a backpack with a collapsible walking stick as I damaged my knee six weeks ago and need it after walking long distances. He then harangued me over the fact I had a bottle of mineral water and a restaurant would take issue with me bringing my own water so implying I shouldn't be bringing a bottle into a pub. I had already been to a restaurant and another pub with A:the backpack and B: the bottle of water with no problems whatsoever. If this was a joke I don't find it funny. I have not felt this unwelcome in decades and certainly will not recommend your establishment to friends or family.

Usually a lovely pub with good food and good atmosphere, but on my recent visit,pub very quiet and no food on the tables.I ordered a bowl of Scouse, which shortly came out in a small cereal bowl with some of the ingredients missing, very disappointed and did get my refund. Furthermore the kitchen staff were drinking alcohol and appeared drunk.If the staff don't shape up, then they are going to lose their customers.

Usually a great pub with great breakfasts..today was just plain dissapointing. Bar person appeared "affected"...lets just leave it at that.

Great food, freshly cooked Sunday Roast. We ordered through just eat which was very unreliable on delivery. This bears no fault to the pub whatsoever and they kept in touch with us regarding updates on our order.

Went in on Wednesday Ordered double pink gin and lemonade bottle becks cheese square crisp £23.30 paid on my card then questioned it. Girl said she didn’t normally work the bar she normally works the kitchen. so had overcharged £6.15 a extra bottle of becks 6.15 refunded given (not yet revived ) So £16.98 for a double and sprits a larger and crisp £16.98 on a Wednesday afternoon Good help a weekend So while I was at the bar a women was complaint about something id missed but I know the 2 barmaids said The next round is on us Make what you wish

Popped in after shopping with a few minutes to spare before our next train home. 2 hours and 15 trains later . . . Great door staff, great bar staff and a truly excellent atmosphere created by the lady MC and local stars of the show. Two words sum up The Liverpool. Talent and character.

Not playing songs from us...even spending a lot ...why so Indians are spending a lot to their turnover...I am having dissatisfaction really not goog...no happiness...no togetherness...no brotherhood...don't go and water your money

Went at lunchtime on Friday food was lovely, tasty and hot.

I don’t leave many reviews but give this place 5 stars. A proper pub. - Home cooked pie and chips. The best I’ve ever had. - Live music - Sport on the tv (with sound off). Rugby on one, footy on the other. - Friendly bar staff -Good crowd with a lively atmosphere (Saturday night).

Went for a drink always felt welcome drinks good service good, a vulnerable male came in Alex who was amazing and a member of staff who wasnt even on shift Nicky noticed straight away he was delerious needing help. They gave him a bowl of scouse and a hot drink attended to his needs straight away and all night. They put him in a taxi home and looked after him, this was noticed and as a member of the public it wasnt there duty but feel this is outstanding customer service and making sure he was okay. Amazing service and will definately be back thank you for a lovely night and for providing someone who was clearly in need with help this wasnt unnoticed by your customers

First of all, the food arrived with more than 15 minutes apart, leaving some of us waiting very long for our food, and others in our group finishing before we even got our food. Me and my brother ordered Cajun chicken wraps, one came in almost tasteless. It had chicken and stir fried veggies in it. The other one came in without any stir fried veggies, and looking like they dumped the whole spice jar in the food. It was around 3 tablespoons of dry spice mix in the wrap that I took out from the wrap, it was not edible. On top of that, some of the things on the menu were not available, which was very unfortunate. The staff were pretty friendly. Way too loud music, like most of the places in Liverpool. Couldn’t talk to each other without yelling in order to have a conversation.

Was in last Wednesday 20th 2023. Had a cracking laugh here. The elf doing the karaoke was a scream. Only called in for one and spent 3 hours there lol.

as busy as ever safe fun atmosphere. 1st singer left a bit to be desired.... (second much better thank goodness) and I had to wave at the barman to come over and serve me!, but I'd definitely go back.

Super pub….. well worth a visit! The beers are tip-top and I have always had a pint of any particular brand which is well-presented and palatable. All the staff are cheerful and friendly - hard to do on a weekend when they’ve been on the feet for hours - nonetheless they make people welcome. The food quality and service are also five-star: place your order, give your table number and it arrives on time and with no fuss. A former sailor’s pub, previously known as the ‘Mona’, the ‘Liverpool’ engages with the city’s booming tourist industry - very forward thinking of them. Of the pub’s atmosphere, well, you could go in at most times and find it very convivial. Any pub, of course, doesn’t have to be packed to be convivial. But unlike a previous Tripadvisor reviewer who downgraded due to not being able to watch his favourite team on the pub’s television, well, the unwritten law of pubs is that you accept whatever game is being shown at the time in favour of others - this said reviewer really should get out more. Found this place by chance and was so glad we did, excellent atmosphere everytime we went in, always busy staff helpful and friendly, would definitely be going back next time o visit Liverpool

Visited for family tea and watch football match. Kids (13 and 16) made welcome. Food came promptly and all v hot. My curry arrived with chips rather than 1/2 chips and rice. Didn’t matter but waitress insisted on bringing the rice. Best veg curry ever had. Reasonably priced. May return for breakfast tmw. All staff v friendly. Place kept clean and tidy. Thanks

I visited the Liverpool pub recently I was truly impressed. I suffer from various food allergies, I spoke with Chef about my options I asked if they had Gluten free Bread, she said no….But offered to go and buy me some….I asked if their sausage was Gluten free, Chef said No , but she went out for bread and came back with Gluten Free Sausage too. Very impressed with The Liverpool Pub, James Street *****

Went for breakfast this morning and what a smashing breakfast I got with great coffee. Everything was cooked to perfection. We asked for the eggs to be turned and they was just fab.

Very nice pub. The beer s lection isn't great, but it's still a good place to enjoy a pint or two. Food good and very English, Sunday roast is on the menu. Worth a stop.

Waited 40 minutes for a bowl of soup and a ham sandwich. Served a table of 6 people who weren't even in when I ordered. Obviously not logged my order but when I asked about my food I was told that I was next. The place was not crowded.

I hired this venue yesterday for a works party. The staff were amazing big thank you to Helen, Karen and DJ Alex. We had a brilliant time. The food and service provided was 10/10. I would highly recommend this venue. Look forward to booking for our Christmas event. Thank you SSCL

Called in for a drink on way to our hotel? decided to have a snack. Couldn’t have picked a better place for both. Brilliant staff, excellent service Good value food, big portions. Breakfast was booked and was again excellent. Would definitely visit again.

I bet for those who party hard all week it should be thrilling, but as business owners it's your duty (and humane) to make sure you insulate your noise properly. It's exhausting to be accommodated in the hotel next to this, with or without a kid, and have to put up with shaking floor and windows on a Tuesday night. I cannot understand what's going on, since I've been here through the weekend and we've had no iasues with this before. Then all of a sudden, Tuesday came. 8 pm. Then 9pm. 10 pm arrived, still vibrating floor and windows. Like what the... Why can't you just be polite?! It's past 11 pm and still going. Congrats. They're supposed to be closed by now, too. Glad someone is having fun. Wish it wasn't on the detriment of 20 other people trying to sleep.

Hi I'm coming from london to Liverpool to visit family I was wondering what time children are allowed to stay in the pub?

Great food we had both Sunday lunch and Breakfast there while staying. Staff were excellent can't thank them enough for looking after my phone with all mycards when I left it on the table had a absolute heart attack when I realised but they'd kept them all safe. Thank you so much!

Didn’t have food, so I can't comment, but what I saw going to other tables looked nice. Some of the chairs are very shabby with ripped upholstery. This surprised me given that I thought it had been recently refurbished? That said, this is a nice pub which makes a change from the swanky and more pricy bars in the same area. I telephoned prior to our visit to check it had reopened after the refurb, the member of staff I spoke to was polite and helpful as were the bar staff during our visit.

Waiting time for food was over 40 minutes and the pub was not at all busy. Food tasteless and poor quality and quantity. Salt pepper chicken just sprinkled with flavorng not cooked. They apologised saying it was a new chef , that was not cooked by a chef more mushy peas on plate than size of fish never go back for food loads of places in Liverpool to choose.

Long waiting time even though not busy. very small portion of salmon and pasta for a high cost and a bit dry and not very hot. First time visiting prob last as most basic dishes are expensive. Quite disappointing 😞

This pub is a little gem close to the city center, we were staying at a hotel close by, it was clean and the staff were very polite friendly and nothing was too much trouble, especially as we had dietary requests. We also had our evening meal there as well, i can't rate it high enough give it a try, even the chef came and asked us if everything was ok with the food, to top it off they did peppermint tea was a game changer, will be back later on in the year,

Great bar very friendly staff good variety of beverages and also good food menu at very competitive prices would highly recommend.

This pub was a great spot for meeting up with our visiting Canadian relatives (ex-Liverpool) staying close-by. We were made very welcome by Paula who personally introduced herself as running the family owned pub and explained the history of the pub being named after the ship and it being in her family for over 30 years. The food was great, homely and enjoyable, the drinks kept coming and we had a fantastic time reminiscing. Several visits followed during their stay so many thanks for making us all so welcome.

We have just come back from another 5day visit to your great city,and this time we found time to visit your pub, absolutely fantastic we visited mid,afternoon the atmosphere was great everyone chatting,laughing,and having a good time,on my count they were. Around 60 people in.think that speaks for it's self, we hear it is closing for a re-furb. How they can better what we experienced we don't know.Kathleen,And David.

The Liverpool is an authentical-feeling pub a little ways off from Liverpool One. It's rather central location makes it a great place to stop for a "real" English pub experience, especially for tourists. It's not too pricey - but note that their drinks (specifically their daiquiris) come pre-mixed. The seating is rather nice and there's televisions on the walls to watch the game. The bartender was friendly and overall we had a great time!
