We enjoyed a delicious lunch in this charming tea room served by friendly & smiley staff. Best pot of tea I’ve had in a cafe for years - served in pretty china. We’ll definitely return when passing again.

Dawn and Faye are back!!! Food and service upto the usual high standard. Calling all those who before Covid and the ‘lockdown’ became regulars at the little teapot tearooms... they’re open and service has resumed (allowing for Covid compliance). Just had a fantastic BLT breakfast (although it was almost midday), I’d cycled over 6mls to get there, so was in need of that cuppa ☕️ Took away a couple of Dawns special cakes for my afternoon tea when I finally got back home. Well done girls, nice to see you back.

The lady who greeted us (didn’t catch her name but she was wearing a head scarf) was perfect, found us a good seat, pulled the table out for me (a nice kind touch), talked us through the menu options, explained everything…so often you go to little cafes and it’s not clear how to order etc but she was spot on. We had jacket potatoes which were cooked to perfection. A quirky little spot, very clean and welcoming. Price was very reasonable and again the lady (and all the rest of the staff) wished us a safe journey home. So glad we stopped there! Thank you beautiful smiley scarf lady!

What a find by chance. Quintessential Traditional Tea Room in a former Schoolroom. Homemade Sandwiches, Salads and Quiche. Lots of Cake. Most importantly The Tea is served in proper fine bone China. The Garden is a delight in Summer. Friendly and welcoming Staff. Highly recommended. (If I could find any fault the decorative outside Chairs and Benches need Cushions..... Just a little hard to sit on. Otherwise Perfection ).

What a fabulous find thanks to Google. I don’t know the area and was meeting up with a friend for a birthday cake and cuppa and we found this little gem. Super friendly, smiley ladies running it, a lovely bright and light room with plenty of space, and off road car park spaces. The best bacon, Brie and cranberry toastie I’ve EVER had, and this is my usual choice wherever I go so I’ve had many, and a very tasty, fresh side salad and crisps on the plate too. The cakes......wow. Deliciously generous portions, and after a saying I’d pay for my friends cake for her birthday it was surprisingly delivered to our table by all the staff singing happy birthday and her cake had a candle in it. What a lovely touch. I’m so pleased we got to enjoy our whole meal before Sherburn was plunged into silence with the power cut. I hope trade didn’t suffer for you. We loved our visit and will be back. Thank you.

What a beautiful building hugging a wonderful tea room. We had jacket potato and homemade coleslaw and salad...all faultless and so yummy. A toastie. Just brilliant. PROPER tea and flapjack and lemon cake - served on vintage crockery in such a pretty room. The staff / owners were so lovely. You saved Valentines for a grumpy old man. ❤

Similar to previous reviews this is a gem of tearoom based in a newly converted village school which acts as a community centre .Its excellent decor and plenty of light make This a lovely place to eat drink and chill. We had cakes yum yum and drinks served on china plates and in china cups in keeping with decor .However I maintain whilst everything was really good its the Owner and Manager and her daughter who took on this enterprise who are the stars .Cheerful, welcoming and attentive. Its a great advert for the whole project of reuse of facilities and what can be done to provide attraction for village and visitors. I hope locals know how good this is an support .We will definately return when in area .

Well what a lovely surprise we had this lunchtime. We had originally decided to sit out front on the lovely patio above the flowerbeds because we had our two wee dogs with us. A lovely young lady set up a table and chairs for us because they had been taken away due to high winds. Then she arrived out with a bowl of water, for the dogs, without us needing to ask. We then noticed the rain clouds approaching and decided to eat inside leaving our dogs in the car. What a treat that was. The decor is simply lovely. I had a delicious carnation chicken sandwich and my wife, a lovely prawn in Marie-Rose sauce salad. I had a gorgeous mocha with my sandwich. The service was lovely and attentive.Next time, and there will be many next times, we will have cake they looked sumptuous. What a gem! Simply wonderful in today's fast-paced society.See you soon!

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch time treat for my daughters birthday. We were a party of six and where given two tables to spread out, ideal with three children. The staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We were allowed to take as much time as we needed and the food was excellent! My prawn salad was enormous, the daily special,(BLT) was very special and the children's meals and drinks were super. We had beautiful cakes all round and the GF carrot cake was a real treat for me. All this food and such a reasonable bill it was hard to believe.Thank you everyone at the teapot for a lovely lunch, we'll be back!

My friend had a Christmas Gift Voucher for Afternoon Tea for Two and took me as her 'other' half! I am so glad that she did. What an amazing experience! The atmosphere is terrific, the welcome both friendly and welcoming and the 'afternoon tea' absolutely fantastic. There are literally not enough superlatives to describe this experience. On top of all this the Old Girls School is being used and not knocked down to be replaced by houses - as so many other buildings are nowadays. The sandwiches were presented on brown and white bread and had four different fillings plus salad, tomatoes and peppers - all arranged on the stand so that there was no difficulty in working out what belonged to who! The scones above were in two halves and both adorned with jam and cream. There was then a cake of you choice - all very fresh and beautifully decorated, which we decided to take home as we just could not eat anything more! Added to this was a tea or coffee (of your choice) - I had a cappuccino and my friend had an Americano. All in all a delightful experience and one that we are certainly going to repeat (with or without a gift voucher)!

My self and three friends attended a brilliant willow weaving workshop held in The Old Girls School. The Little Tea pot Tearoom is also in the venue. What wonderful service, so that our lunch could be expedited we were able to pre order lunch at our morning break, this was then ready bang on time, no wasted time waiting meant we could enjoy the full 1/2hr break for lunch. The array of home made cakes on offer was very tempting, I took 2 pieces of date flapjack home which both my husband and I enjoyed immensely. For lunch 3 of us chose the mozzarella, peppers and tomatoes panini, this arrived with a lovely salad that included a tasty home made coleslaw and a side portion of crisps. The atmosphere is light and bright, modern yet vintage feel to the decor with a cosy and welcoming atmosphere. The Little Teapot is to be recommended not only if you are at the venue for one of its many uses but also if you are in the area and looking for an outstanding tea room in terms of atmosphere, service and tea room menu choice of good quality fare

On a cold damp day we called for coffee. The welcome was friendly but we were only people in and it seemed a bit flat. Perhaps it will be better when it becomes better known as it only recently opened.

I've been there three times recently. It has a lovely atmosphere, and a vintage appearance . Super Christmas decorations at the moment, with lovely back ground music but not too loud so you can easily hold a conversation. The homemade cakes are really delicious and a huge out of tea. Prices are extremely reasonable and the place is spotlessly clean. Staff are super friendly and very obliging. There's nothing about it that isn't good. Will be visiting again to sample their scones and other lovely treats. Have yet to try their breakfast and lunch goodies.

A small, very welcoming café, located within the Old Girls School, Sherburn. Homemade cakes and scones, hot paninis, breakfasts, sandwiches - lovely and fresh and served with a smile. This new café provides a friendly environment in a lovely old school setting and is within walking distance for locals or provides a car park for those who need it. Open 5 days a week (not Monday and Tuesday) a real asset to the village.

Had the big breakfast two eggs, sausage, bacon, black pudding, toast and one of each mushrooms, beans and tomatoes. Quality wise all good but sausage could be better. 8.95 including tea or coffee. I personally think this should be priced at 8.00 which seems to be the going price. Overall the breakfast was good and served quickly with no grease.

I LOVE the Jack Daw, visiting whenever I'm in the area. It's such a great, friendly, local pub - a nice atmosphere, comfortable seating, friendly service, traditional pub decor, really good selection of (Tadcaster, of course) beers, AMAZING food and great value! The food is really exceptional - the landlord takes real pride in serving good quality, tasty meat/ fish/ veg, very generous portions, quickly brought to your table with a smile. There's also a separate room with a pool table and a nice outside area. As well as activities/ events throughout the week (Bingo Tuesday anyone?! Live music?) If you're anywhere near Tadcaster, this is THE pub to visit. Everyone's welcome here - children, grandparents, even (well behaved) dogs. Come and experience a true taste of Yorkshire!

Unfortunately we were let down at another pub who were meant to be catering for us for a family party of 14 people. At the last minute the Broken Bridge were able to accommodate us. Everyone said how nice the food was and the staff were lovely and really helpful.
