Sunday lunch the word that comes to mind is absolutely delicious plenty on the plate and very reasonable priced, always welcomed Very homely and very relaxing and the landlady is amazing

Such a welcoming and lovely place to eat/drink. Food is amazing and everyone is constantly happy. Sunday dinners are unreal!!! W just had a little portion today which they were more than happy to put together for us

We stayed at the B+B which is a caravan right next to the pub it was a horrible experience and I would not have wrote this review only my wife put a review on booking .com and the landlord decided to insult me so my good sir your caravan pans and utensils are filthy with grease, the bed was lumpy the hole site is a mess and if you think that's worth a £100 per night you live in a dream world your pub is nice which i said to you on the night of our conversation unfortunately you seam to have turned on me yet the review my wife wrote was as much to booking .com because they say you do food and you dont only in summer had we known that we would not have booked and if the booking was returnable i would have not stayed there the minute I set eyes on it.

Lamb was to die for!!! 100% recommend. Land lady and staff are amazing :) No better place for a Sunday dinner. Lovely and local which makes it better x

Came for tea had steak pie and mash and gammon and chips it was spot on!!! Service was very good and a nice welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

We came here this evening for the first time as it was a half way point between us and some of our foster sons family. From the minute we set foot in the door, we were very warmly welcomed by the two ladies there. They were incredibly accommodating, chatting to us regularly throughout our time there and socialising with our 3 children. The place itself had a good old fashioned pub vibe and was lovely and warm with the log burner going. Home cooked food was great and enjoyed by all 7 of us. Again staff were very helpful with the birthday cake. Relaxed and homely feel. Can’t recommend enough, will definitely return. Thank you very much. 😊

My sister and I stayed at The Jackdaw for 2 nights when attending a wedding nearby. Lovely big caravan, 2 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) 2 toilets and separate shower. Stayed self catering BUT with free breakfast - fridge was stocked with all you'd need for a full English breakfast!! Plus bread, butter, milk, tea, and coffee to get started. The owners, Lillian and Andrew are friendly as are the pub locals. We had Sunday lunch to finish our stay - beautiful, freshly cooked and large portions! A couple at a nearby table had dessert and shared one portion! We will definitely be visiting again! Thank you Lillian, Andy and staff for making our stay happy and relaxed.

Walked in from the cold to a lovely cosy pub with the wood burner being topped up regularly. Great crisp pint and the dog was treated like royalty, what’s not to like!

We went for Sunday dinner and as always the food was lovely hot and tasty, it was busy but all the staff had time for you and nothing was any trouble. I had the lamb and husband had beef and we both enjoyed our meal

Had Sunday lunch at the Jackdaw with my family. Wow Lil did not disappoint. Heard good things about this place and yes it definitely lived up. The lamb was so succulent and all sourced locally. Lovely, friendly, quirky pub. We went as a table of 9 and called before hand to let them know and they arranged the table for us. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious, nice selection of meats (pork, beef and lamb) and amazing Yorkshire puddings!

Great local pub with a warm welcome from Lil. There’s also a good selection of ales on draught and hand pull at reasonable prices.

IT was my 60th birthday yesterday ,we called at the jackdaw on our way home ,lil always makes us feel so welcome, she put a birthday song on the juke box it was a perfect end to a lovely day ,thanks Lil and staff you are ace .

Went for Sunday lunch today with my son's, daughter's in law and my Granddaughter. The staff were very attentive and really made our visit very enjoyable. The food was excellent and they provided a dish for us to take away our granddaughter's left over dinner, (the portions were big). Great drinks and reasonable prices. Had a delightful Sunday lunch today. Warm and friendly welcome and nothing seemed too much trouble....We chose a small roast option and so pleased we did....the plates brimming, plenty for us. Deserts sounded wonderful sadly we didn't have room. We will certainly return the our youngest as I know desert will definitely be eaten then! Thank for a very pleasant experience. We called into the Jackdaw for Sunday lunch we had beef and lamb it was delicious the vegetables were all fresh not frozen and homemade yorkshire pudding staff were friendly and the landlady was there to ensure everything was ok. We will be returning soon

What an amazing bar, the owners can't do enough for you, plenty different tipples, to suit all and if you like a wee game of bingo, get yersel along on a Tuesday night, the banter's brilliant. The food is amazing, what brilliant cooks they have and their Sunday lunch, is not to be missed, the portions are plentyful and it tastes amazing. So if you're in the area, get yersel along to the Jackdaw, you won't be disappointed. I look forward to my next visit, from a very happy Scotsman.

Very tasty pub food, friendly team members and a 'Mr Whippy' ice cream machine. For toddlers and young children there is plenty of play equipment, including a bouncy castle and inflatable slide in the garden and there is a reasonable baby change station inside the toilets. We were made to feel very welcome.
