The Little Dessert Shop in Wiltshire

I've got to be honest, the hot chocolate looked very very light in colour and tasted very very weak..... Sat in here almost on our own for 30 minutes before working out that we actually had to order at the table rather than having a waitress or waiter...... Let's be honest, they only have one thing to do. Serve coffee, ice cream and puddings. You would have thought they would have a more snappy service and a happy attitude at the till....... Answer bringing my hot chocolate to the table. It would slam down with such force that after the chocolate covered the table. See pictures...... I really couldn't recommend this place at all.

Food was nice, did taste a little raw but overall food was really nice, delivery however took over an hour. Took them over an hour to make chocolate covered strawberries and 2 waffles.

My friend ordered a waffle, chocolate cake and ice cream (which were all overpriced) and got food poisoning not even kidding, how do you mess up pudding that badly?! You basically pay to get diarrhoea here

Ordered the sharing platter £25 and was both disappointed and grossed out. Eating this I placed a one of the strawberry's and stopped eating immediately. Massively disappointed especially as this was ordered for an event. I called the restaurant but as I ordered via an app they were less then helpful. Very disappointed.

It's an absolutely amazing place... the food is fantastic and the service was brilliant. It's definitely worth a visit

The cakes were nice well the sides that hadn't gone dry and hard. Quite disappointing.

Waited 40 minutes for two items. Every single table in the place had people who had been waiting for over an hour. Food was good when came. But not worth the wait.

After opening doesn't make massive progress, waffle undercook , portion ice cream so small , Staff could be more welcome One extra star for nice new decor.

We were a party of 4, desserts arrived as follows. 1.5 and after 10 minutes the second half of 1 dessert and the other 2. The ice creams with 2nd flow of desserts was wrong and when asked to provide the right one they came over and said it had been served with the first dessert so no( that ice cream had melted). The mistake was theirs and they shouldn't have refused.

Cheese cake was nice but warm and the hippo on top was stale cookie dough was good but took a long time to come out and the red velvet cake was not a red velvet cake at all was very red but not a hint of chocolate and was hard in places not sure what it really was if I’m completely honest disappointing

Absolutely shocking! It took 30+ minutes to serve our table of 4 (with only one other table there), blaming it on “being so busy” when we had to remind the waiter of missing items. Instead of bringing our table’s items together, they were brought out 1 by 1, with about a 5 minute gap between them. Pistachio cheesecake and hot chocolate didn’t taste of pistachio, and the mud pie cheesecake tasted old. Cookie dough was okay, but very sweet.

Me and my boyfriend came down for the evening , lovely desserts , all I can say is that the portion sizes are way too big , very filling but good for the price I guess … I’d say if you’re going to get a dessert here you’d be best sharing most of the desserts here as they are big especially for people like me and my boyfriend who do occasionally eat a lot !👍🏽🙂 Also id like to add I am gluten free and didn’t get asked about dietary when shown to a table and staff need to scan around the room more as when we walked in we got put on a table of 4 because all the other tables were messy !!

One of the items we ordered was the chocolate COVERED strawberries but I kid you not, a small drizzle around the plastic cup was all I was given for £7!!!! I can buy two large punnets of strawberries from the supermarket for that (Pics attached). We ordered a biscoff cheesecake that came FROZEN. The only slightly decent thing was the pancakes but even then I wouldn’t say it’s worth the price. Overall so disappointed, Ubereats gave us a refund of £8 which doesn’t even cover the cost of the missing items. Couldn’t even get hold of them to call and say about the missing items, as the phone number on the website doesn’t exist!! Please do not go here and waste your time. I am livid.

Wish i could give less, had a really lovely experience when they first re opened from the unforunate time they closed due to the health rating however just ordered today for collection, the server was very rude and when we got home to eat the crepes were rock hard and the icecream was a joke, they added at least a table spoon of icream into the pots and that was it. Terrible experience.

Everything came out different times, forgot the person who I was with food.

Ambience was really nice, I went on a Christmas Eve and there was a nice decorated Christmas Tree. But very much disappointed with my order. Speculoos Milkcake, the cake part of it was frozen and same with the cream. It was hard and the sauce was very watery and tasteless. I came all the way from Swindon as this one was nearest. But didn’t even get to sit and eat. So I had to get a takeaway and have it in my car. I am not sure about other desserts, but atleast what I ordered was terrible. Driving all the way for this wasn’t worth it.

Nice place for a dessert treat and coffee. A little slow but it's a comfortable setting so not too much of an issue. Costs are average, don't charge for oat milk which is good.

Ordered a couple of custom waffles to take away. Waffle itself was very good, brownie bits were very tasty, strawberries were fresh and the pistachio sauce was amazing. There was a short wait for them but was very relaxed in there so was not a problem. Gelatos and desserts in the display cabinet also looked very good wouldn’t mind trying the pistachio dipped cheesecake - or any of them!

Wish I could score 0, reject my delivery order even though I order way before it closes, when I’ve picked up previously food was missing yet no one answered when I tried to call.

We waited half hour for 3 Scoops of ice-cream and a crepe , there was only one table waiting for their order when we sat down. The toilet door was wide open for the restaurant to see all the toilets, there were 4 uncleared tables, but I counted 4 members of staff! When our order arrived the crepe was undercooked and very thick and doughy and the presentation for the ice-cream was non descript and was put in a take away pot. We won't be going back!

We stopped by here after having a meal in one of the restaurants. So many delicious desserts to choose from and such a large menu. The desserts were amazing.

The desserts are always great , the customer service is impeccable I cannot describe how lovely their service is I 100% recommend this dessert shop to all the readers of this review .

Closed a few months ago for a deep clear after a 1 star hygiene inspection and place has not reopened.

Terrible service. 3 out of 5 orders wrong. Ordered a Vegan chocolate ice cream and started eating. Then to be told it wasnt the Vegan one but full dairy. Wouldn't be an issue but I have a dairy intolerance and was very sick later that day. Staff would come up and just place orders on your table, say nothing then walk away. 2nd issue was that when my friend ordered a large they put it down as a half and wouldn't swap or issue a replacement but would have to pay full price all over again. Hygiene. Not one member was wearing any gloves, hairnets or aprons. I found it very hard to watch my order being made thinking about hair being in it or when the last time they washed their hands.

I think this place has so much potential, but it's spoiled by the lack of hygiene and dirty toilet etc

Didn't have much available that was on the menu. Waited quite a while for the food and staff not overly friendly or welcoming.

Would not normally write reviews but had to here. Came here Friday night with son and his mate as a birthday treat after the cinema. They wanted some milkshakes. I don’t know where to begin, but I’ll try: The service and lack of verbal communication and not understanding basic English by 3 different members of staff. Being pointed at a dirty very stained sofa to sit on by a young girl in scruffy clothes, no uniform, menus that were brought over to us one at a time over the space of a few minutes. The chaotic dirty food prep area, the very dirty windows, mirror, tables, water leak stain and hole in ceiling, toilets was just shocking and unbelievable!!!!! Needless to say we didn’t sit and stay, the boys took away their milkshakes when they were eventually ready. We stood and waited by the door. Would have personally just walked out but the boys really wanted to wait and have their milkshakes they’d ordered. Will Not be returning and unsure how this place hasn’t been closed down due to the serious lack of hygiene. What a shame.

I was very disappointed with my Service when I took my kids there for my daughters birthday the management was poor!! My 4 year old daughter wanted bubble gum ice cream but we didn’t relies it had bits in it thought it was plain bubble gum and she wouldn’t eat it on her birthday as she hates anything with bits!! When I asked the manager really nicely could I please change what she’s having as I couldn’t see it had bits and the label on the tub don’t say anything about bits he refused to exchange the ice cream and made me pay full price!!! After I spent over 30pounds in there on 6 kids and two adults he wouldn’t change just the birthday girls ice cream!!!!

I had the birthday pancake, it was excellent!

The food itself was really good but there was a real lack of service. On arrival we were asked from behind the counter to get our own menu and sit down and order at the till. At the till we found out they didn't have any ice-cream but vanilla. No music made for a really dull atmosphere. Might desert another time but I would get takeaway rather than eat in.

Came in on the 7 of January and had 4 amazing dishes with friends no faults or anything food was honestly delicious but serves a bit slow but that didn't doubt the food xx

82 minutes to be delivered and without one of the desserts and now won't pickup the phone so that the order can be rectified...truly awful

Ordered two apple crumbles which came to a staggering £13.50. As a company who specialise in deserts I was quite excited to receive what I thought would be an indulgent apple crumble.. However to my disappointment what I got was a sprinkle of oats and 3 bits of sliced apple! Tried to phone them for over 10mins but surprisingly nobody answered.. As if they knew they would receive a complaint. Shortly after they set their deliveroo service to closed, even though they were still open for the another 4hrs. Very disappointing. Won't be buying from here ever again and neither should you.

If you like tiny portions and apple crumble with no apple included, look no further! If not, it's probably best to avoid it. Couldn't phone through to discuss with the shop as nobody answers the phone unfortunately.

Would love to say how nice the desserts were but the service (or lack of) was so bad we did something we hadn’t ever done before. We left before we had even ordered. The reason, we’d eaten lunch at one of the other restaurants and thought we’d try a dessert as we’d seen it on the way in. At first we thought it was shut as no people about or obvious signs of life. Then we saw a sign saying use a side door not one at the front. We walked in and could see a lot of counters of cakes, ice creams and desserts and two people at the far end talking and possibly cleaning. We walked around, up and down the counters, we could see and hear the staff but they didn’t notice us. We picked up some dog eared sticky menus and sat down and had a look at it. We sat at the table for a while and still no attempt by the staff to interact. We felt uncomfortable and unwanted so we walked out. It looked like they wanted to be shut, maybe even permanently, they carry on like that and maybe they will get their wish. VERY surprised and disappointed.

don’t pay their workers their holiday pay when leaving the job which is against the law. You contact the boss and he will ignore your messages for months knowing that it’s your right and money.

Lovely Desserts Little Tip Don't Eat Before You Visit

Disappointing. It is very expensive and loads of things were not available. No crepes, no pancakes, the cakes we wanted were not available. The children didn't enjoy their chocolate sundaes either. Shame!

Not very nice at all. Very bland and no taste to there ice cream. We won't be returning.

Went here just before going to the cinema and had some really yummy pancakes. I didn’t manage to finish it all as it was a sugar overload, but this is a great place to go with kids or friends for a nice treat!

The food here is usually brilliant however last night I ordered some ice cream that came to over £18 and the driver turned up with 1 portion not 2 and zero explanation he just walked off, I want something done about this, it was half melted and half portion this is a joke absolute daylight robbery!

The waffle was amazing. Brilliant flavors. My only complaint is that I wish the servers who put it together, wore gloves and didn't touch our food with their bare hands. 😕 kind of puts you off. Health and hygiene should be more of a priority!

Really disappointed. We used to go there all the time and would always look forward to it. We went this evening and I ordered cookie dough, which came on a frayed wooden cutting board, with the cookie dough cooked on a square white plate, completely different to how it is normally served. This would've been fine, but the vanilla ice cream that came with it tasted like it was gone off. I physically couldn't eat it. The cookie dough was ok but very thin and overcooked compared to their usual cookie dough. I also ordered a classic mojito which I couldn't drink as it had no sugar. My cousin ordered cheesecake, which also came with the sour ice cream. I don't normally care too much about presentation, but wish I took a picture of the food as it was not at all on par with their usual standard and it made the overall experience even worse. It's a real shame as this was a place we would really enjoy going to. I'm not sure if there's been a change in management, but this is overall very disappointing.

I don't recommend anyone to eat there anything....so disgusting food and not fresh. Taste was horrible.

Lovely, decadent desserts but very limited for allergies or intolerances. I couldn't have the dairy sides so asked to swap them for vegan ice cream and charged me for 2 desserts!

I went there despite the bad reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. Staff was smiley and ice cream was tasty.They have very nice cheesecakes too, I'll definitely go back.

A real shame - we had been looking so forward to visiting the little dessert shop. We arrived 2 hours before closing time and were told we couldn't sit down, we had to order our food and take it home. There were so many tables free, but it seemed like they were trying to clear the place out? We sat and waited for our food and it felt as though the employees who worked there were starring and talking about people in the dessert shop. Just a cold atmosphere, which is a real shame because they do great food and the interior is very quirky.

Arrived to a miserable lady who decided to sit 3 of us at a table for 2. Moved chairs over myself and handed menus. Nobody said we have to order at the till so we sat for 15 minutes not knowing if someone was coming to take our order. I went up to the tills and waited a further 10 minutes to place the order with a man who was doing all the takeaway orders by himself. The two ladies working at a snails pace just kept looking at me not one came and asked if I was ok or waiting. I places the order finally and sat down. 10 minutes later we got our drinks. Then we sat and waited. 3 tables came in and got their food before us. A whole hour later I asked where our order was and the man said it had gone to the wrong screen. He didn’t offer any means of apology at this point we had to leave. I asked him to refund me and he charged my account the amount he was meant to refund. Another massive inconvenience. All through the time we waited the two useless employees didn’t think to ask why we were sat there with nothing given to us for a whole hour. Even though they walked past several times. I got my refund and left. They need to get their staff some serious customer service training. Absolute joke!!!!!

we turned up because we had never heard of it before and wanted to try it. the service was absolutely appalling, we stood for nearly an hour waiting to be served an not word was said to us not even "i will be with you in a minute", it was absolutely disgraceful. we eventually walked out because we did not want to wait to be served any longer. should not have to wait an hour to be served, it wasn't even busy!

What an absolute shame that they provide such lovely food, you just can't bloody order it!!!! Their website is impossible to navigate, can't get into your order basket let alone change anything or even place an order to collect. Advertising just eat but don't use it, deliveroo stating 80min wait. No wonder their Google stars are so low. Obviously no interest in changing that. Oh well, I'll order something else.

Very poor hygiene don’t use gloves to prepare food or put hair nets or beard nets on and when they do it’s only covering a small part of hair, also no uniform and I saw one of the males whipping his hands on his bum and continued to prepare food

No staff kids playing around with the chain curtains and the coffee could have been hotter they should have closed

Been twice now and first time was alright as i didnt sit in but on friday i say in with my missus and sister and we werent happy with how some of the staff acted, especially the one with bright orange hair who stared at us the whole time and didnt have an manners

amazing place! stopped by here with my autistic cousin as a treat. we ordered 3 ice creams to take away. we didn’t use any amenities or sit down at the store. but the girl behind the counter was lovely. we were the only people in store and the girl gave my cousin the time of day to let him decide and choose his own flavour of ice cream. it was a new place for him so he was taking his time choosing. she was so lovely about it. when my cousin asked what cookies and cream was like she offered a small sample so he could taste it. it was a hit and now a very firm favourite. when my cousin dripped ice cream on the floor and i asked for a cloth to clean up she insisted she’d do it for me. great little place!

Second time, we were told again that we can’t eat in because the dishwasher was broken (even though there was already other people sitting in there eating). Rude staff both time. Stale cake. Won’t be fooled a third time.

We arrived at 1230 (google says they were open at 0800 to find a sign in the door saying they were open on Sunday at 1300. Oh well, half an hour to kill. We got back just before 1300 and as I walked past on my way to the door I see the 2 young women who work there out the back, smoking. While wearing their aprons so I am sure it’s them. They eventually open at 1302 due to “technical difficulties”. I point out to them that they were out the back smoking and they ignore that. They have a sign indoors saying they’re unable to serve hot drinks, milkshakes, mocktails or smoothies. Ok, no drinks then. The young lady at the till (still wearing the apron she’d been wearing while smoking) took my order and this seemed to go ok. Nope, a few minutes later we’re told they can’t do the double choc cookie dough but do have milk chocolate. Ok, whatever. At this point I’m pretty much regretting my choice to come here and just want something to show for it. The food, when it came was nice but the shop is so bad and the service is really not good either. Are there not hygiene concerns about wearing the apron outside to smoke?!

I had a drive of 80 miles to come here , on the internet it said that dine in is from 1:30 to 9:30 , I went there and they told me that they can’t serve us because they didn’t have enough time to clean the plates , I’m sure they could because they served people after refusing us , this is disgraceful, don’t recommend. Very bad staff.

Have been here a few times, never been disappointed by the food. Unfortunately today the staff were openly swearing behind the counter in front of children inside the restaurant. Was also offered kitchen roll as they had run out of toilet roll. Toilets were dirty and the cleaning schedule posted up was from February!

Delicious food with good service! I will come back again! I wish they would bring back the salted caramel cookie dough and the waffle that had the popcorn on it though!

Building was falling apart and the service wasn't the best. Polite staff. Ordered a crepe with custard (not in picture) and raspberries- which were moldy. Last time I came it was in good condition but has deteriorated since.

Delcicious food but we waited 5 minutes to be seated then over 40 minutes for our food. And as soon as the boss came in they started working a lot faster. So either fire them or set up cameras to watch their extremely slow service and them not even being polite. However, the boss was very nice.

We went here yesterday I ordered crushing on you crepe it was the best crepe I have ever had. Looking at these reviews I don’t know how people are put 1 stars this was an incredible experience I will definitely be coming back! Great customer service they were so caring and kind!

My husband, daughter and I visited today. My husband and I had a tea and a coffee and my daughter had half a waffle desert which all came to about £12. More than I would like to pay but as it was a treat we don't do often it was ok. I have given a medium score because the toilet facilities were horribly unclean. There was a sheet on the door for daily cleaning to be marked off which was dated 18 Jan (11 days ago!). The tiles were dirty, the floor was filthy, the sink and toilet were stained..... If this is how dirty things are that customers can see, what is the cleanliness like that can't be seen? 😬

I ordered by phone to this exact place, agreed to collect it in 10 minutes. when we got there I had to wait in a queue for 15 minutes (without acknowledgement) and they claimed I never called and that I hadn't ordered anything and that I MUST be wrong and called the wrong location despite me using the phone number registered to this location. Never got any food in the end.

I won't be returning. This was my 2nd visit with friends and overall... It was pretty stomach churning. I had a really poxy apple crumble (not worth the money) that looked like sick on a plate and my partner had a white choc & raspberry waffle. However, all of the raspberries on top had to be picked off as they were so mouldy. Sad really as if the staff took more care, this would actually be a nice place to eat. Better off saving your money or going to Mrs. Potts Chocolate House, for a better experience.

Very disappointing. Waited 20 minutes to try to get a seat, got fully ignored despite the fact there were only two other customers in the store and three members of staff. Chose a table myself in the end, went to order. Got ignored at the counter for 10 minutes, so walked out. Lesson learned, use the competition if you actually want to get some food.

Can I leave less than a one star rating? I would go on to write about the horrendous service, had I received any. “Please stand here and wait to be seated” sounds fair, until you’re waiting 20 minutes without a single acknowledgement. Whilst I appreciate the staff are super busy serving all 2 other customers in the store, whilst there is only 3 of them working (sarcastic obviously), we decided to seat ourselves to relieve the pressure for them, to then order at the till and continue to be ignored. They may not have noticed my 6’5ft boyfriend standing there. Save your money, save the hassle & go elsewhere. Kaspa’s & Creams do banging waffles btw and you actually get served. Shocking, because apparently not all businesses work that way.

I thought the experience was atrocious. Environment is awful, and the waiting time was ludicrous - I waited over 50 minutes to get one single waffle to the table. Brought me a milkshake 5 minutes in and then haven't been served a waffle yet. Absolutely ridiculous that this is how customers are treated. Service is sub par and employees ineffective, either fire them or train them up. Certainly not worth the price.

Really liked the desserts here.My wife had the apple and custard waffle and i had the chocolate one.They are massive,we couldnt finish them.Much better here than kremes.

Fantastic place for children/teenagers. Good ice-cream etc but mass production foundation ingredients rather than artisan. I'd go again, it's a nice atmosphere and clean. The service was well intentioned, they were short-staffed but a little panicked as a result.

From first month after lockdown was amazing but now unfortunately getting worse stuff rude quality of good very poor , hair in food and cleaning quality very bad . Don't waste money

We were excited to visit as part of a weekend away. The menu is huge and a bit overwhelming and with no real descriptions. The staff were not only unfriendly but had absolutely no idea about what gluten free options there were. They couldn't find the allergen information sheet and didn't attempt to help in any way. Gluten free is not exactly difficult to accommodate for and I was shocked to see that the menu doesn't give any indication of gluten free items, instead we were asked to go to the counter, only to be told that they didn't know anyway! There didn't seem to be a manager to ask either. The service was poor and without a smile, but the hot chocolate and chocolate brownie bites were delicious. However, we won't be returning

Extremely slow customer service (with 2 customers inside 🙈), ice cream overpriced £5 for 2 scoops, when in Bath Spa delicious Italian ice cream cost £3.60 (for much bigger portion) . Staff don't look happy to be there. My first and last visit in this...

Very fast service, friendly staff, amazing food that is great value for money as you get so much, and the shop is very pretty with lights and colours everywhere.

Great menu, fast service, very nicely decorated, you definitely get what you pay for plus extra would highlyrecommend to dessert lovers
