I wouldn’t stay again. Hopefully the pub is alright but the rooms just don’t do it for me. Cobwebs on the walls, dirty hand prints around the light switch, crumbs on the floor. Pillows were maybe as old as me and had no substance to them and whilst the bottom bed sheet was clean there was no top sheet, just a duvet which I felt had not been washed since the last guest, it didn’t smell fresh. At under £40 for a single room it could be considered good value but it’s not a place I will return to.

Can only comment that inside looked a lot better than out, which was fine. It was lunchtime but young bar man was friendly and cider was good. Shame there was no food being served but all in all a decent experience

I have never had such a bad experience at a "hotel" Very loud music in the bar meant not eating there. We had a double room that you had to enter one person at a time. Rip/hole in the duvet cover, Bedding that was a total mismatch. Curtains hanging off the rails. Very musty smell in the room which we later discovered was because there was no ventilation in the shower room. No plug for the sink. Only one cup in our double room. A family member decided to make a cup of tea in his room but when he used the milk from a sealed carton it had gone solid. No idea how long it takes for that to happen. Terrible place pretending to be a hotel.

If you don't mind noisy football supporters, watching Sky Sports or BT Sport then this is a good place. Large open area to rear of main bar and saloon bar in middle of building. Has rooms on the upper stories for night. Food is basic and good value for money. Is close to Dorking Station if you mean to tour the area and buses travel to the surrounding area and further afield. Is kid friendly as well.

The Lincoln Arms is very handy both for Dorking Town and Dorking Deepdene Stations. The pub serves very wel kept real ales. We had Taylors Landlord and Tillingbourne Hop Troll, both excellent.

Friendly pub with pleasant staff, good service and friendly atmosphere to suit all tastes. Pleasant sitting area out front, nice bar and a more relaxed and casual rear lounge with large screen and games tables. Found it funny that half the customers watched the screen with international rugby while the other half sat around tables playing poker or some such tournament. Full of locals and pleasant atmosphere.

I went in here a couple of weeks ago for a pint and a bite to eat. So I was at one side of the bar and said hello- ignored and the server walked away. I saw another waitress the other side of the bar, so I walked around as she was serving a group of 3. Again I waited for attention- but she walked out the back after serving them. So after 5 minutes of circling the bar looking for service trying to be seen- I walked away. This is a pub aimed at blue collar workers, so if you want to get served dont go in her dressed in a suit and tie otherwise you will be invisible.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon, and I think I was the only female in there. It's a large pub, and probably fit for purpose being so close to the station. There were some guys playing pool, and others (probably regulars), sat at the bar. I did feel a bit sorry for the fish in the overcrowded fish tank... I think if you're in a group of blokes or a male commuter then it's probably a handy pit stop. I wouldn't personally go in there on my own as a lone female.

Down to earth pub with excellent staff, good food, accommodation, a range of real ales all at reasonable prices. If you drive, there is a good car park, if not Dorking station and bus stops only a few yards away. There are two pool tables and a dart board for those of us that remember what real pubs were like. An ideal place to stay and explore the Surrey Hills, it does not get much better than that.

My wife described this place as 'blokey' and it's a favourite haunt of mainly male commuters getting off the train at Dorking station after a hard day as a wage slave in the big smoke. The beers are well kept, the food good value and the staff friendly. It's a bit of a barn of a place when it's quiet but there's free wifi and comfortable seating.

First of all I am not going to write a review based on The Lincoln Arms as a hotel. My review is based on what this place does best, beer, food, football and friendly staff. I have been based in Dorking for 6 months haveing moved down fron Glasgow in October and was introduced to the Lincolm Arms quite early on in my stay here, and pound for pound this is my favorite place to visit in Dorking and it has served me well for the last 6 months. Good choice of beers and ever changing ales....check Plenty of TV screens for the football....check Tasty, good value for money food...check Friendly bar staff....check Free pool....check Outside beer garden....check As I said, I am not here to reveiw this place as a hotel, only for what I think it does best. It offers a nice friendly astmosphere to go for a few beers with your mates, and if you're hungry don't forget to try the (in)famous 10 piece Lincoln Platter, a deep fried platter of heaven!

Met with several work colleagues for an hour lunch break, 2 of them had ordered their salad for the specific time, myself and remaining colleague ordered nachos on arrival, The salad took 40 mins to arrive and nachos 45 minutes. These were greasy, covered in what can only be described as yellow plastic slime allegedly cheese and what also appeared to be tinned mince. a dollop of sour cream and a chili chopped on top. The service was so slow I did not even bother to complain as lunchtime ran out. I left a good proportion of them, just as well as I was suffering from indigestion for the rest of the afternoon, I will not eat there again total waste of money.

I've visited this establishment quite a few times while on business nearby. On my most recent visit, the staff were chatty and helpful (as normal) and the chef produced a fresh and tasty salad for lunch, great value and very satisfactory.

Yo trabajo cerca, así que la ubicación era un factor que me trajo aquí. Tuve una muy saludable, pero bastante deliciosa chili, patatas y queso. No es exactamente un buen por las arterias, pero como un regalo, era precioso.

Ate in here twice, food totally vile. Thought first time was unlucky. Burger Worst quality anything between disgusting bread ever. Equal only to something unknown I purchased once on a Ryanair flight to Italy one morning. Plus side some of the bar staff are friendly.

In viaggio dall'aeroporto di Gatwick per il Surrey ho fatto sosta in questo pub di Dorking per il pranzo. Una piacevole sorpresa. Piatti molto abbondanti e gustosi, buon servizio e ottimo rapporto qualita' prezzo.

This one has an Old English Pub feel but the place is not clean, especially the toilets. The friendly hostess at the reception made all the difference with her agility and proactive help. Ideal for a brunch thought I have heard the lunch is quite an experience. A humble commercial landmark in Dorking indeed. Ideal to start your walking tour round the historic place. And much better than hyped up places like The Air balloon and Smooty Fox.

The Lincoln offer a friendly place to eat at such great value. We go there regulary on a Sunday for lunch which costs only £10 for two Roast dinners which includes extra gravy and plenty of fresh veg and roast potatoes! We can't rate this highly enough, a real treat! You can relax and read the papers and enjoy the friendly atmosphere or watch the football if you want. I would recommend this pub whole heartedly.

Closed Permanently. I live nearby and sadly another idyllic venue closes. The Volunteer is tucked away forever now I’m told. Sold to a property developer who’s ideas are not to reopen or refurb as a pub.

After changing many landlords, trying to be a posh restaurant, a pizzeria, a sports bar and just the village pub-which is what this establishment was most successful at (in particular during lockdown it provided a welcome chilling opportunity with its large beer garden and kids area) … this longstanding local pub has closed down. Bookham locals will miss its familiar band nights and outdoor summer time drinking
