Costa in Mole Valley

Served by a very friendly young man called Alfie...makes the best Chai Latte in Dorking...thanks Alfie.

Usually good service but arrived at 17.30, when meant to close at 6, for a takeaway coffee, but was told they were closing, and staff proceeded to tell people sat down they had to leave. Of course I understand that sometimes shops close early, however to be turned away earlier than closing time when customers are sat (and then told to leave) isn’t right.

Basically an office for internet home workers. Tables upstairs piled high with trays of dirty crockery and left for hours as the staff can’t be bothered to go up and clear it away. Downstairs it’s difficult to move away from the servery as the tables are too close and there is no room to walk through - whilst holding a tray of hot drinks!

Oh dear. This place is in decline. We've been coming here for years and the last year you will find one of the following issues:-Opening lateNo bread for toast Only one person serving- long queCold coffeeRun out of marmiteYou don't receive what you orderedNo NewspapersDoes this place have a manager?? If they do then I think they need training.Sadly we now go to other coffee houses in the area. We will try Costa again in 6 months where I will update my review.

My wife and I called in after a meal elsewhere... we found the shop very dirty with litter on the floor... we were going to sit in but decided to take away!... it looked understaffed as well so that might explain the state of the tables and floor...unusual for a Costa outlet...

Aways a brilliant costa! Great staff, service and food. Atmosphere of the cafe is great and will return soon.

Good tasting coffee and service was good, not too slow. Staff were happy and a good atmosphere. A pleasure to sit down and drink my americano.

Had a coffee with friends. Boiling hot day walked into air conditioning it was great. Quite a nice modern building. Coffee was ok service too. Mixed up the order so had to wait for 3rd coffee but no big deal. Huge cups with double handles. Cute. Dorking great market town.

Sine colleagues and I stopped here before a meeting. It split onto two levels with a large fronted front giving a feeling of light, space and airy. Clean with friendly staff no what you expect from a Costa.

My wife and I are regular visitors to Costa Coffee shops wherever we go but before we got to order any coffee or snacks we discided to about foot and walk out.This establishment was so dirty and untidy with dirty crockery awaiting being cleared that customers were clearing their own space to find somewhere to sit.I have emailed Costa to register my comments.

First visit to this Costa - a quiet Sunday morning - so service was fairly quick and efficient. Unusual conversation (for those interested in construction/architectural features)There are steps leading up to the entrance but there is a platform lift.Otherwise the usual drinks and eats!

OK - everyone knows Costa Coffee's offerings. I would suggest that there are other, better, places for coffee in Dorking. However, it has one clear benefit - it stays open longer. Whilst most cafes close around 4.30 / 5.00pm, Costa remains open until 6-00 pm. Other cafes take note!

The service here was brilliant so fast and friendly.

I am in here often. The flat whites are delicious and some of the cakes are good too. Its a great place to meet friends for a coffee.

Used to go here regularly. Unfortunately the top floor has been taken over by those with their laptops, making use of the wi-fI, sitting there for ages but not buying anything. Ground floor has become a meeting place for mums with their little ones so there is not much room amongst the buggies. Ambience and space was much better before the refit but I guess they had to change the spiral staircase. A lot of people just walk in, go upstairs and use the loo!

I have just been in to the shop this morning and was appalled by the customer service that I just received.

I have spent more time than I can imagine sitting in this cafe. Enough time to get bored of the food, but that’s not a bad thing, the food is good, just doesn’t really change much. The coffee is top notch, too often I’ve had Costa from other places that simply doesn’t taste right, here, they always seem to get it right. Cafe is clean and well presented. Air conditioning is present. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Location is central, easy parking in Sainsbury’s with a short walk down an alley to the left of the cafe for access. If you are a fan of Costa, this is a decent cafe to visit and probably the best coffee in town in my opinion.

I went for a coffee and pastry one morning and found the man behind the counter quite rude. He didn't say please or thank you and couldn't even crack a smile. A friend told me she had had the same experience. She thought he might have been the manager. I hope not as he's not a very positive roll model ! Coffee was nice though.

Every weekend I'm going thers for coffe and small muffin! Staff is very friendly especially Maciek - chatty and happy person. Maybe little bit messy thw toilets but otherwise place is great @ xx

Coffee and cake were lovely as usual but service was terrible. Took 3 people to make a coffee cooler and a few of the staff were grumpy and arrogant. Definitely expect better when you pay so much!

My partner and I have been going to this Costa for two years. We recently went for a coffee on a Sunday and realised how much this place has changed. The staff did not speak a word of English. It was difficult to place the order as the person behind the counter was not fully trained on all the products. The order had to be repeated several times and then it had to be pointed out on the blackboard behind her. They were also playing extremely loud music which felt as if we were in a bar and not a coffee shop. It's a shame, this place never used to be like this and if it carries on, they will lose loyal customers.

If you like Costa coffee then you'll be happy with Costa in Dorking. There is a bright glass atrium at the front of the cafe - perfect for watching the world go by. Table and chair seating inside on the ground floor and then bench seating and chairs upstairs. Well proportioned and airy environment. On the whole maintained well and kept tidy.

In my experience some staff members in coffee shops can appear to view customers as an interruption to a conversation with a fellow work mate. In this particular branch of Costa the staff were welcoming and diligent. After getting my drink and sitting down I asked one of the girls what was in a particular smoothie. She went to the counter and brought one back, premixed to show the ingredients. The shop had a nice atmosphere and was busy.

We always go to Costa as we find it the most reliable place for a good flat white! Excellent coffee. Comfortable seating.

Always a clean and tranquil environment to enjoy a coffee and a snack. the staff are friendly and offer good advice when having difficulty making choices.

We visited this establishment for the first time and, as we are both disabled, were amazed and fascinated by the lift outside the premises which is available at the press of a bell, said bell bringing a member of staff to activate the lift For the non disabled there are steps up to the cafe. Once inside there was plenty of room for my mother's walker and staff are able to provide table service for customers who are not able to queue up. As well as toilets on the upper floor there is a disabled toilet on the lower floor which requires a code to access it, thereby ensuring that non disabled people do not misuse it. There were plenty of staff on hand to provide access. The tea was hot, soya milk was readily available and it was clean and welcoming. We wish more organisations in the UK would take a leaf out of their book when it comes to providing for the disabled and the elderly. Well done Costa.

This building started life as a bank. There used to be a forecourt with steps up to the ATM. This now has a glass roof and is a really light and open seating area. There are plenty of tables and the staff here are very good at keeping the premises clean and clearing the tables quickly.

We visited here yesterday for a quick sandwich and drink. We were offered one napkin between two, so had to ask for another one - that kind of thing makes me mad! The floor was filthy and the tables were sticky, it really put me off. I won't come back here. They really need to up their game. The whole place is a turn-off.
