What a delightful place to go for breakfast , we wandered in mainly because everywhere else didn’t open until 10am , We were very warmly welcomed , unfortunately I didn’t get the ladies name who looked after us , but she was friendly. Quirky nothing was to much trouble and the full English was freshly cooked ( we were told that because the sausages were freshly cooked there would be a wait ) Delicious local ingredients, the bubble and squeak was amazing . Wonderful coffee

The coffee, ethically sourced from Peru, was the best and smoothest I've ever tasted. Ambience friendly, we felt we'd stumbled upon the real Totnes. A couple of strangers were engrossed in a game of chess. Menu original and very reasonably priced. I chose garlic mushrooms with peanut butter and parsley, while husband had excellent spinach and brown rice burrito with jalapeños and salad.

Came upon this cafe one Sunday morning, looking for a fry up. Turns out this place serves the best full English you could ask for. Great ingredients including top quality pork products, bubble and squeak and proper bread. All cooked by someone who knows what she's doing. The eggs Royale were superb too.

Amazing lunch- I had the best burrito I have ever eaten! Staff were so friendly, cosy little place with games to entertain the family. Food took a while to come out but all was freshly made and delicious. Worth the wait!

A very cozy space, beautifully decorated with fairylights, teapots and games to play. The two members of staff were so friendly and made us feel welcome. Food not very quick to arrive but it was definitely worth the wait!! I had the best poached eggs I'd ever had and it was all cooked perfectly!! There was a lot of choice on the menu (which we were very happy with as vegetarians!) as well as lots of juices, smoothies and hot drinks. I would definitely recommend to other families.

. We always have brunch somewhere at the start of our return journey having holidayed in an area. We booked a table for 1100 at The Lighthouse, when we turned up the owner was whimsically setting up, placing flowers on the table and chatting to her assistant. We found our own menus on an adjoining table and then asked how we ordered, were served. We were told to order at the counter which we did. We got our drinks about 15 mins later. After nearly an hour we got our food, Luke warm and slightly burnt. Yes the coffee was delicious, but don’t go here for quick service, in fact any kind of service. Go if you want to watch customers being ignored and to listen to the owners incessant chatter. This place may offer care in the community, mainly for the owner, but not customer service.

Can Really recommend the Lighthouse cafe and juice bar in Apple Lane.. Popped in yesterday for the best goddam coffee tbh I can remember having… and a gorgeous homemade brownie.. such delights.. My friend who came with me and is Dartmouthian thru and thru said he would definitely be back partaking of the fabulous homemade blondie with coffee.. As far as I know it’s all organic as much as possible.. truly delicious, looking forward to trying out a breakfast next time.. as Andrea the lovely hostess says the cafe is for vegans who have carnivore friends or vice versa.. and I think the coffee is certainly award winning! Yum plus some lovely artwork to buy or look at on the walls.. bonus !

What a great hideaway cafe, to escape the world, relax and chill out, while eating great food and meeting the lovely staff there. This is a true Totnes cafe, hidden from the street vibe and noise and playing calming sounds. The coffee is excellent also. I recommend every with a soul to go there and try it.

Excellent wholesome food, described by the lovely hostess as "vegan, but catering for meat eaters, and gluten free, but catering for wheat eaters". Portions were big, food was fresh, home cooked and delicious. Cakes were amazing. Down to earth, friendly vibe, and very reasonable prices. We've had lunch here two days in a row and will be back! What a little gem of a cafe! My wife and I had Eggs Florentine with smoked Salmon and fresh spinach with a hollandaise sauce. All home made and the best we have tasted in a long time, all served with a great cup of tea. Will be back for sure.

Had a cooked breakfast and an oat milk latte. Quantity and quality of food easily the most generous and best tasting in town. Coffee super strong and delicious and Andrea is a wonderful host. See you soon and often for more of the same 😁

Don't judge a book by it's cover: the humble appearance of this cafe belies the delicious food served. Firstly, who doesn't love a place that serves breakfast all day? The breakfast I had was excellent - everything was delicious. The beans and bubble & squeak were home made. They actually serve decent gluten free bread, which is about as rare as unicorn poo. The owner and staff are very friendly and chatty. A fair price for an excellent meal - I will be back!

the best tasking breakfasts that any of us have had. I am not a vegetarian but one of our number had the veggie breakfast and the sausage was one of the tastiest that I have ever had. Absolutely excellent fresh food. In an arcade which sells fresh fruit and vegetables. We all thought that the quality of the food was the best that we have ever had, cannot recommend it highly enough.

Popped in for Lunch whilst visiting Dartmouth and glad we found this Bistro The food was excellent and reasonably priced I had mixed seafood and it was lovely very nice place and pretty busy & we offered to shared our table with a couple of strangers and soon good chatting and having a great time, The owner appreciated us sharing the table as brought in a couple more customers who would otherwise have gone elsewhere, nice if others do the same - you never know you may get on and meet some lovely people will certainly return here the next time we go to Dartmouth

The made-to-order take away sandwiches from here are made with quality ingredients, and very well filled, probably actually overfilled. The issue I have with them though is they are sometimes not made with as much care as they could be, even in the quiet season. It seems to me that the staff are instructed to put a certain amount of, say, salami in, etc, but this is put in straight from the packet without it being separated so you find yourself biting through a slab of meat rather than it being nicely separated and spread throughout the sandwich. In a similar way the cheese (especially the brie) is often sliced too thickly. I genuinely think that less could be more, with the sandwiches being better for having slightly less filling but made with more care. A win-win for customer and owner is there for the taking.
