Great food, beautiful views. Outside area which look out over the river.

Food was delicious! It appears a bit pricey, but for the quality of the meal it is good value. Also a lovely harbour view from there windows.

Lovely meal in a great location if you enjoy views of boats. Wiltshire ham and eggs got a 'very good' from dad and my Greek salad was excellent, full of olives feta and the side of potatoes with a delicious dressing. You can access a short walk on the front, but of course not in the marina itself. The wind protection and a sunny day made outside dining a delight. Parking adjacent was easy, although we are out of main season. I'd emailed ahead to see if indoor eating with the dogs was possible, but didn't get a reply, in the end it didn't matter as the weather was fine. They happily provided a bowl of water for our dogs. Live music was advertised for a number of forthcoming dates.

We stumbled to this place by accident as we were looking just for something to eat and to wait for our ferry back to Mainland. We didn't have reservation on Sunday afternoon but they have managed to find us a table, we had our almost 6months old baby with us. Staff was super friendly towards us and a baby as well. We both went for roast dinners, mine was vegetarian nut roast and my partner had beef I believe. Tbh so far it was the best roast and gravy I have had for a loooong time eating out, my partner enjoyed his as much too. It was nice to see a place thats buzzing and have full staff and you don't wait for ages to be served nor for food either. It was really nice surprise and we will definitely be back whenever we visit and we will be recommending this place to anyone who comes to IoW through East Cowes. No picture of food as we were quite hungry and it was too good to stop eating! Thank you!

Went for the Friday night two for £24 specials, really good would certainly recommend to all

Very accommodating staff... we arrived on a Saturday evening with no reservation and two dogs and they still found us a table. Great food and service, wasn't cheap but wasn't ridiculously expensive like many of the trendy yottie places. Will definitely come back.

Attended a funeral wake. It was an ideal venue, food was excellent, just not all to my personal liking. I would highly recommend it both as a pub , restaurant and venue.

Always good service, but shout-out to Emily today, who made our dinner extra special by making sure all the allergies and intolerances were covered. And that's without even having a reservation. Excellent service, going the extra mile with a smile on her face. Thanks a million!

I had lunch today at the lifeboat inn . I came in the summer last it was very busy . Today not so busy I sat outside because the sun was shining plenty of table it was just warm enough bright peaceful . If you want a winter lunch and meet up it s a perfect place with view of the harbour food served perfectly and the taste as good as the last time I was there

Food was lovely as always, and although busy they were able to accommodate us as a walk in.

Great breakfast! I judge a full English on the sausage and this was excellent- firmly packed and perfectly seasoned. The bacon was also better than supermarket standard. All the rest was very good and served quickly and on a warm plate. Service was efficient and friendly in a very nicely decorated pub. Highly recommended!

Popped in to try, after reading your reviews. The pub is well situated, good parking, nice views. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is lovely, laid back, good music and comfortable lighting. We both decided on the chicken curry, although the menu offered a huge choice. The dishes were well presented, served with a poppadom, onion, and mango chutney. The curry was hot in temperature, and very moreish. We really didn't want to leave. Well done fantastic hospitality.

Booked a table for 16. Orders taken soon after, all the food was brought to the table soon after piping hot. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Staff were fantastic. Highly recommend.

Lovely place to eat, with views of hustle and bustle of harbour life. Food not too shabby either! Busy 2nd visit, food took a while but when it came - superb.

Visited 3 times whilst staying on a weekend break at the East Cowes Marina; leaving today. Breakfast was good on both occasions. The only downside which is a key point; was once you're served. you literally never see the staff again?? No-one ever around to ask is everything to your ĺiking? etc. The usual customer service one would expect in my opinion! I have to say having read the most recent reviews. I thought I had visited a different place!! As they say "there's always room for improvement" if this is indeed a privately owned venue as the reviews mention, hopefully this will assist with staff training.

This was a restaurant we stumbled across by simply following the signs towards it. The welcome, the service and the food was faultless. Specials offered in addition to the expansive menu, privately owned, brilliantly motivated workforce displayed fully by their can do attitude. You won't be disappointed but try to book, they get very busy, they have car parking and is dog friendly, oh, it overlooks Cowes bay....crikey, I'm off, need to go again. Tony Perrin, West Sussex.

Small Family Gathering.. 8 of us. Excellent Service and food was of equal quality and standard. Table was roomy without anyone feeling 'on the end'. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning at our next Island visit 💕 Parking on both sides of the building plus fabulous Terrace. Dog Friendly too 🐶

really good value for money. Food is very good, If anything the portions are too big. The staff are all very friendly. We found that they would also change the recipe eg noodles for rice and adding Quorn to the dish without any fuss. Well worth trying. 2nd March 22 just had a lovely meal again. Lovely oriental stir fry 27th sept 2023 and still value for money and brilliant service. Thank you all at the lifeboat 👍👍👍

Great place, food & service. It was really busy when we went to this pub but found a table outside and ordered at the bar. Food arrived really fast, we were very impressed. The loos were spotless. Staff were super helpful -and the food was great!! Can’t fault this place at all and will definitely be going back when we next pop over to the island. Highly recommend The Lifeboat.

Went for my birthday most recently but been many times and will always recommend here, beautiful place, lovely staff and gorgeous food!

I wild camped on the coast of Hamble and sailed my Dinghy accross the island, this lovely pub is situated right next to The marina as you come in to the island, I was able to catch there breakfast, I was really thirsty and they give you unlimited orange juice. I ordered a tea and they give you a home tea pot. The haddock and chips was fresh and delicious. After a night of camping and a early morning of sailing it was a nice experience getting my breakfast here, good food cheap price

Great place, great food & chilled atmosphere, the only thing that let's the lifeboat down is the really slow bar service, never enough staff for the amount of customers & you can wait a ridiculously long time with just a few people waiting, needs sorting out.

Great Riverside pub,tucked away on the marina.Great deck to dine or drink on. Happy buzzy modern pub. Happy staff and a good choice of meals.Good value. Worth finding.

Lovely family pub with great food and exc service

Stopped in for a light lunch and the food and drink was really nice and staff were friendly. Nice views of the marina in the outside seated area.

A couple of nice pints of Goddard's Fuggle-Dee-Dum. The food here is girt lush too!

Delicious food, the portion size of which won’t leave you hungry at all. I had the whitebait (about 18-20 pieces) with chips, salad and homemade slaw; my son had a fully-loaded burger; daughter had scampi; wife and her friend both had the halloumi salad. Happy diners all around. Taste the local ales, enjoy an outdoor table as the sun sets, and leave with full bellies, all for a snippet of some of the prices you pay elsewhere.

Easy parking ,beautiful location, had not booked .staff initially friendly and helpful, but when I declined to give my phone number or email ,it changed .unlike others had to order at the bar

I hate writing bad reviews for hospitality venues because I myself know what it is like working under pressure of peak summer in a tourist town. However the service was utterly terrible when I visited the Lifeboat last night for my friend's 20th. I ordered a 'ginless tonic' which, according to their menu, should have come with strawberries, raspberries, and blackcurrents- yet it came as a disappointment, plain with a chunk of lemon squeezed inside. For the price of the drink, I was upset that it didn't come as described. When I brought this problem to the barmaid she seemed irritated by my request to sort this out and acted as if I was bothering her, saying the barman was 'new' as if I was annoyed by the issue and needed an explanation. She did add the berries into the original drink and I apologised for any inconvenience. This would've been fine however my food order was also then made incorrectly and when I raised an issue the waitress took back my meal and after ten minutes brought it back out, again wrong. After all this waiting around I didn't want to make a fuss and seem like an annoyance so I ate it and did really enjoy the food! However my order was still wrong and I even paid extra for this! I was very disappointed by my experience at the Lifeboat and would advise them to listen to their customers properly in future. I expected my meal to be at the least discounted, or rather on the house, for the inconvenience and mess ups! Again, so sorry to leave such a rant but the service was very disappointing. The waiting staff seemed very young and I didn't want to place any blame on those individuals.

Extremely quick service especially since we had to relay a large order because we couldn't pay on the app. Got it all in probably 10 minutes, which is incredible. Food was very good as well!

Lovely dog friendly family orientated place to eat. Recommended

We popped in here on a rainy sunday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. Slightly bummed they don't do a sunday roast, but otherwise, the food was excellent. The desserts are also tasty, especially their signature sunday (so much ice cream!). Best to book, but it's a lovely little spot and I think were it not raining, I would have loved to sit on the terrace outside and enjoy the view of the river.

First time there, lovely outside seating area right on the marina, food and service was very good. Excellent menu and drinks choice with specials and also offer drink flights to go with or without your meal

Very nice pub restaurant over looking a beautiful marina, lovely place to visit,I would never have found it without a satnav ,but defiantly worth a visit,it gets very busy so it's best to book, dogs are welcome too which was perfect for us , nice food too x

Excellent meal today and excellent service by Emily, also good to see the manageress out front directing things. Would have given 5 out of 5 if the dessert choice was a bit better. Definitely will be returning

Don't waste your money.... Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience here... Here is the list which I hope they work on but feel they won't... -Was told we shouldn't change our table as we had a very nice view, ended up seated in the middle without any view. -They took a long time to take orders and overall food was 1/10, barely ate any of it. -They didn't take starter plates away and brought out the mains and was chaotic at the table I had to reorganise it for them. -We found out after there were specials we weren't offered and millionaire slice at the bar not on menu or offered. - we were told at the time it was table service but no extra drinks were offered after the first round or service. - on booking told it was for a birthday and requested something special and they did nothing. - went to the bar to pay and queued, then when we got to the front the lady walked away without acknowledgememt. Then we asked someone walking past and she said sorry someone else does that. I felt so unwelcomed at this establishment we had to question ourself whether we were being judged for the way one of us looked or dressed or something we did. We walked in so happy and cheerful for a birthday meal, ready for a good night and left feeling so upset and regretful. Don't waste your money.

Fantastic service - warm, friendly accommodating and welcoming. Food came quickly, was great quality, very tasty and healthy portion size. The pub it’s self felt modern and fresh and yet still had a lovely old English pub feel. Beautiful outside deck area that over looked the marina. Toilets were clean and well looked after. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced - highly highly recommend to all!

Excellent place to eat and relax by the water. Ordering via the app was easy and there was a wide selection for all tastes on the menu. Staff were friendly and efficient, will definitely be popping back when we next visit the island.

Food was good, had the hot as hell burger and it was fairly priced, decent portion and tasty. Beautiful setting, really good suntrap as well. However, I ordered a Guinness from the app (draught menu). When I got my Guinness it looked like it had been canned, after tasting it I was correct, it tastes fizzy like it does out of a can. So, I went to the bar to ask if my drink was canned or draught. The lady behind the bar very abruptly just said "draught" and then literally walked off that instant without letting me saying anything in response. I then pulled one of the young lads who was serving our table and he rectified my issue and was very apologetic, also agreed with me... such a shame.

What a brilliant find on the Isle of Wight! The restaurant and outside seating is next to the Marina to give a perfect location for a meal or few drinks! The service was good, food delicious and cocktails sublime! Definitely going back again !

Really great food (shared calamari starters, sirloin steak in a Stilton sauce, whitebait and more with great service from Kirsty and crew. Great outdoor space and decking fit a sunset meal. One of the best spots on the island if you're looking for something a little different o in a great late afternoon setting.

Roast neal very good. Please no frozen oven chips with fish & chips, absolutely tasteless.

Lovely setting, very rapid service, although quite pricey, (we ended up on the sangria jugs) the menu had plenty of choice and the outside is just perfect in the sun. Will definitely be back.

Not too welcoming on arrival. The waterside steps are blocked off by brutal metal barriers giving an otherwise attractive waterside patio an old Eastern bloc look. We were going to eat but the next table left their food so we skipped it. The local beer was well kept & the inside of the pub was OK

We have eaten here a lot, but our recent family visit was a big disappointment. (8 x adults, 1 x 8 months old) We ordered our drink, one drink was totally wrong order, 1 drink missing, the girl serving us said that's what the order said and walked away. My drink, I asked for gin and tonic, no added extras arrived as a gin with grapefruit peel in as a cocktail, I have an intolerance to grapefruit!! The 2 drinks took a further 20 minutes to arrive. We were finally asked for our food order, which arrived at 8.10 (we arrived at 6.30 for our reserved table). We were given a free bottle of wine whilst we waited. This was ok but should never have been needed. A face to face apology eould have been nice. We sat there waiting to watch other tables get their food and drinks who arrived long after we had. This is down to more management, not training staff correctly. We will go again, hoping this was a one-off, but yes, on this occasion, you deserve negative feedback.

Good quality food with a dog friendly area indoors as well as on the patio. Good selection of beers and ciders, usually. 2022&23 Just as good food and beer-wise. Isle of Wight beers, Yates, and Mermaid gin available. The hot dog was recommend to us and was very good. The lamb burger and cajun chicken were also excellent. The chocolate fudge cake was excellent and very well presented. Service was prompt and the staff were quick to clean tables after customers left. The glass screens around the patio from the covid time are a nice addition if it's a cool evening.
