Really nice here food is fab nice atmosphere just havin some work done there used to call there years ago when we popped in there recently we knew nearly everyone there 😀

Went for breakfast on Monday after seeing numerous posts about it on Facebook and we were NOT disappointed. We had the regular breakfast which consisted of 2 thick bacon, 2 sausage, 2 eggs, beans, fried mushrooms, hot cherry tomatoes, black pudding, little hash browns (which were to die for), toast and a cuppa all for £7.95. The presentation was spot on and served in a cast iron pan. Can't wait to return for breakfast and to try the other meals available throughout the week! Well done Lewis Arms 👏🏼

Absolutely thrilled to have this as my local. The Lewis Arms has always been a little Gem . I grew up local to the establishment and I have worked there in my early teens and enjoyed many occasions as a customer also. Tonight, I wanted to watch some sport. Most pubs were not showing The boxing and I have to say I'm so thrilled to have gone to The Lewis Arms. It was absolutely fantastic. Ken Strelly , thank you for firstly having the boxing on, secondly taking me back to my teen years and most importantly employing staff that I can admirably commend. Zoe was amazing very accommodating. Cant thank her enough. , all were welcoming, staff and locals. Many thanks for an enjoyable evening. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Booked a table of 4 for Sunday lunch . It was quiet but waited 20 mins before a waitress approached us . Ordered 2 course lunch and dessert, food was ok nothing special after lunch we sat for an other 30 mins for waitress to get our dessert orders we all got fed up of waiting as the waitress we’re sitting at the bar talking ,we payed for our 1 course Certainly won’t be back

Beautiful food (chips were 🤤), amazing and friendly service from everyone there. I didn't get the ladies name who served us all day but she was an absolute gem! Very reasonably priced drinks and great entertainment in the evening would highly recommend if you're in the area!

A wonderful wood burner, a very modern and bright pub, staff fantastic, we had dogs with us and made us all really welcome. Food is delicious and very reasonable, would highly recommend this pub, everyone is very friendly.

First time here for Breakfast after reading reviews. The breakfast bustgutter was as advertised Me & my nephew tried but unfortunately beat us both. Definitely be back next Saturday

As a huge meat eater I have to say that the meat wasn't good quality but I have to admit that the waitress was very good and helpful.

What stunning meals we had, 2nd visit within a week, homemade chips, reasonably priced, this will be our new "go to" place for quality homecooked food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, ohhh the lasagne is spot on, I would recommend that dish Highly recommend 👌

Had dinner on Monday night for a family Birthday and the food was so fabulous we went back for Sunday lunch. By FAR the best Sunday roast we’ve ever had in a pub. Food was delicious, lots of it too and the Yorkshire puddings were the size of a small car! :) Sticky toffee pudding was also devine. Staff are friendly and courteous, really made us feel welcome. Will definitely return.

Popped in for lunch. I had the fish finger baguette, and my husband had the gammon. It is not a criticism, but I like my bread buttered, and so it would be nice to have some on offer. Real chips and nice chopped salad. Lovely young lady serving behind the bar and the very nice chef served our food. Would definitely again. Bet it looks nice when decked out for Christmas. X

What a surprise, i was recommended to visit here for a coffee while I waited on my car getting an MOT, and upon walking in, I instantly felt a peace and ease, great staff and the atmosphere made me feel really welcome. I will definitely return here to try out the food !

Not a comfortable place to eat atmosphere was cold. Food was very basic.

Decided on spur of moment to vist LEWIS ARMS in Bynea.My wife had sirloin steak whilst I had rump with scampi (surf and turf).Ordered onion rings garlic bread and peppercorn sauce as extras.Really tasty food.New chef there, really good.Highly reccomend you book .we were there at about 530pm At 6 another 4 tables full.The onion rings were in batter and I think they were homemade and garlic bread was a whole ciabatta. See us soon!!!!

We went to The Lewis Arms for my grandson's 7th birthday for a family meal. The landlady is just amazing with the children and gave a warm welcome to the family. We were told that the menu was new as was the chef. There were 9 of us 6 adults and 3 children, 2 adults were vegan (including myself) this was not an issue at all. The food we were served was absolutely beautiful. My daughter and I were offered no less than 5 vegan options and we chose the wild mushroom tagliatelle which was on the menu as creamy but they made it vegan for us and included a Mediterranean tomato and veg sauce instead of the creamy sauce. My son in law had a full rack of ribs and I've never seen ribs like it. He often chooses ribs when eating out and he told us that they were the best he's ever had, the portion was huge and every bit was devoured. Apart from my daughter and I everyone else ordered different dishes and all plates were clean going back to the kitchen. We couldn't find fault in anything and the prices were really reasonable. There is a beer garden attached to the side of the building. The place is really clean and nicely decorated.Would we go there again, yes we certainly will be returning. We visited The Lewis Arms tonight for the first time.A lovely warm welcome awaited us, cosy log fire... Much needed on such a cold evening. Lots to choose from and also a "special board" after taking advice from Samantha I chose the ribs. I wasn't disappointed, cooked to perfection by the chef. Thank you all we had a great time and we will be back. Diolchyn fawr xx a

Fantastic food and atmosphere. First time to visit for a couple of years, and what a lovely surprise. Greeted warmly and found it decorated beautifully for Valentine’s Day. Had the four course set menu as it sounded so delicious, they told us we could have ordered from their normal menu too. Waitress was very friendly and attentive despite it being so busy, food came out timely, hot and fresh. Every course was delicious, especially the homemade cheesecake , glass of prosecco and some truffles to finish. We had this in the main bar area, nice comfy seats and a real fire. Such a lovely friendly atmosphere and made some new friends. Will definitely be calling again, highly recommend.

Great food and pub! Staff are friendly and cannot do enough for you. Tucked away just of Loughor Bridge an ideal spot to call in and have a great meal ! Great experience it's a must.

Food choices aren't great, and very limited on a Sunday as its carvery day. Quite cramped. Took a pram there and struggled to find room for it. Staff during my visit were not particularly attentive, but it had just opened and were perhaps a little inexperienced? Will probably return as I know some locals.

We went with 4 friends on saturday afternoon at 3pm for steak meal .Between the 6 adults and 1 child we ordered a variety of food 2 t bone steak 1 rump steak 2 rump with chili prawns 1 sausage egg and chips.Everything was great .All food cooked as ordered.We also ordered garlic bread and cheesy garlic bread as well as peppercorn sauces.FANTASTIC MEAL.Ordered cheesecakes and simply ice creams to finish.We will be back again!

The Lewis is close to where we live do we decided to walk over last night for food and a couple of drinks. Good was excellent. Perfect steak. Next the drinks. It was going to be a quick visit. We got there by 7.30 possibly home by 9.00. We staggered in at 12.30 smiling and laughing . Really appreciate the welcome from Sam and her family . If you're driving past and you need something to eat I'd recommend the Lewis.

Excellent food and great staff with a family feel in the atmosphere of all rooms.. Excellent service a clean crisp pulled pint in clean glasses.. cheapest pint in gorseinon with meals in the sports bar cooked fresh and daily.. karaoke/disco on a Sunday in a really smooth couples /party atmosphere.. great night great sound and mostly great fun karaoke/disco from 7.30 till 11.30 ..(Sunday open hours)

Heard that the people who had red 10 were now in lewis arms Bynes.My friend had t bone there last week ,so we decided to try if ax good as red 10.I ordered bone whilst my wife had sirloin.Both steaks were LOVELY.ordered pepper corn sauce as well.Home made chips nice salad mushroom and onion rings.Thanks YOU WILL SEE US AGAIN!

What a lovely evening celebrating Dads 70th Birthday with all of the family. Warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, food delicious. We wish you well! Xx

Called in for a quick lunch. Chose the club sandwich from the light bites menu. Absolutley stunning! Fresh thick cut bread toasted with bacon slices that were more like gammons and freshly cooked warm pieces of chicken. Lovely salad with coleslaw but best of all HOME MADE CHIPS!! £7.95 worth every penny . Highly recommended. Staff are great friendly and welcoming and a roaring fire lit in the hearth.

There were 6 of us having the Sunday carvery, there was nor one complaint. We all had a great quality meal. The staff were attentive and felt very comfortable. Would definitely go again and am looking forward to trying the daily menu.

First up, staff really friendly, but no great selection of gin apart from Gordons and no proper gin glasses.Meals were both hot, but were brought to the table separated by a 5 min gap! Really unacceptable for 2 simple meals when there were only another 2 customers in.The steak was nicely cooked, but the gammon a bit thin and overcooked.

Best food I've had in a long time & nice friendly staff well worth a visit folks

Well what can I say superb Sunday lunch choice of meats with all the trimmings, good choice veg and mash potato, lovely gravy.followed by Apple crumble and custard. Good service and great friendly welcome from new owners.we will return.well done all u will be very busy.

Great opening night at the Lewis Arms last night, family friendly, dog friendly, family run pub. Serving food from early October once kitchen refit completed.

Gutted. Saw reviews and opening times. Arrived after long walk and closed with a to let sign. Sorry to see yet another pub go

Top class food. Best ever. A huge well done to the new landlord & landlady of this wonderful pub. A very good job done. Can't wait to come back here soon. I live within 5 minute walking distance of this pub.

Came today for Sunday lunch. Two adults and 1 child. Service was quick but not very friendly and professional. Very eager to clear away before toddler had finished etc. Veg was good. Meat was not. Myself and my son had beef. Very chewy and not tasty. Other half had all three meats and said they were all tough and chewy. Desserts were mediocre too. Banoffe pie still frozen!! Waitresses smoking rich in the doorway of the pub not a nice welcome with young children. Very unlikely to return

We arrived with a party of 10 after a close relatives funeral, we waited about an hour and a half for our food to be served, the food was terrible and served cold with cold plates with old salad leaves, chicken pasta was bland and very un-appetising served without a salad!. I happened to see the chef outside having a cigarrette and told him he needs to go to South Africa or Australia to learn how to cook and serve food!!.Paul

We arrived got taken to our table quick enough had to ask to have our order taken, did not have wines we requested or items on the main menu as sold out it was only 6pm, lasagne was tasteless potato dish was still hard, child's pizza not fully cooked , a chicken wrap dish sold as ultimate had crispy chicken strip with a slice of cheese , I will say on a positive the steak was very good plenty of pepper sauce. I would not visit again.

I stopped by to meet up with friends and ended up being around for both lunch and dinner. It’s a small local pub but they offer a wide variety of food, including vegetarian and vegan. The cuts of meat don’t match the low price tag and I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. The staff are friendly and happy to have a chat, they are also family friendly.

I dont ask for much from a pub - just that they serve me a drink with maybe a smile. I asked for 2 cokes with ice and lemon, one appeared to be slightly less full that the other so I politely asked for it to be topped up (which seemed to create a bad air). Its a hot day - why should I have to ask for something as basic as being given a full/normal measure of drink? To make matters worse the old barfly decides to take the mick and asks to see the 2 pound coin to see if its genuine. (hope you are still laughing now). Its a pity as the Landlord seems like a nice bloke - service with a smile is important for passing trade. Sorry but I will never visit this place again. Locals only pub and very unfriendly.

Shocking food and service found a fly in my baguette absolutely disgusting

Visited with my husband and son, only I had a starter which was loaded meaty fries...awful and they brought the main dishes out before I'd finished my starter!! My son had the ultimate burger which he said was ok, husband had the mixed grill but the pieces of meat were just too large to have as a mixed grill ( pet dog didn't mind) and I had the lamb shank which is the smallest lamb shank I've seen and it was swimming in a very very watery tasteless gravy with peas with dauphinoise potatoes which were also tasteless, didn't bother with a dessert! Should have complained but just wanted to get out of there as the service was so bad. Asked twice for the bill and then had to go to the bar to pay.

I really wanted to love this visit as really excited about it being taken over and open again. I am so very sorry but it was awful. The wine was awful and was left I had a red and asked to change it and that was just as bad, I never leave wine!!!I asked for the children’s meals to come out with the starters and that was a shambles, they brought my ten year old daughters out, which consisted of ten shapes of pasta and my three year olds was no where to be seen. When the food came out my 3 year olds meal was still not brought out. At this point the manager bar manager did apologise but I really don’t think this went far enough. Food was mediocre and disappointing which I hate to say and I feel robbed that we had to pay for our food, I was so cross I sent my husband to pay for the bill as I had been back and fore to the bar 4 times. I will not be visiting again. All in all awful wine and mediocre meals, the two young girls bringing food out were very apologetic but that is the only nice thing I can say.To add my daughter said the chips were nice! But we had pay for extras as her meal was so small!

We call in yesterday for a quick bite to eat. Food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly. The kids loved the play area and beer garden. This will definitely become our local from now on.

Won't go there again food was greasy and tasteless there was a young so called chef there that couldn't cook pompodoms. .on the up side nice pint

Under new ownership and the place looks fab and very family oriented. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced!

The pub is under new ownership from 11th May 2018. We have just visited for the first time since re-opening and were really pleased. Meal was tasty, service excellent, friendly, reasonably priced and we had a warm welcome. We sat outside in the sunshine and chatted to other customers as we enjoyed our meal. The pub interior looks fresh and clean with new carpets. We will definitely be calling regularly. Good luck to the new owners.

We visited tonight have not been here for a few years , I had the pie which when it arrived was rock hard the chips were home made but had been standing for a while , I complained , they gave me a freshly micro waved pie and chips with gravy which still had the granules floating in it hadn't even given it time to dissolve ,my wife had the chicken melt which wasn't anything to write home about, had money taken of the bill but that wasn't what we wanted how do you over cook a pie they did apologise but it was a meal spoilt don't think we will be returning very soon

Our visit here on a Saturday night was typical of many of the reviews I have already read. We were a family of 4 booked for 7.45pm. We were shown to our table almost immediately and I observed that many of the tables were occupied. A large party were just ordering so I anticipated a slight delay in the food. Our waitress took our order at 8.10 and my son’s first 2 choices of food were unavailable, chicken melt and sirloin steak so he ordered a rump instead. I watched as other people were getting their food and noticed how the food was nicely presented with home cooked chips in modern wire baskets. After a hefty wait, our food arrived at 9.40pm and by now we were all starving. The only waitress on duty apologised and offered us a round of drinks for free as well as the garlic bread as they had run out of the cheesy bread which we had ordered. In fairness, our steaks were all cooked to our liking and were tasty, however, the chips were skinny over cooked fries, onion rings over cooked and tomato, again, over cooked. We were all too hungry to send anything back and my 2 teenage sons were too embarrassed for me to make a fuss so we just ate what we could. I mentioned to the lady behind the bar how unhappy I was but stressed that the waitress was not to blame and if anything, she is put under undue pressure having to serve everyone and bring out extremely late food. She did apologise but it won’t encourage me to return here anytime soon. A few members of my family had never been here before and were keen to hear how we enjoyed, they too will now not bother trying.

Delicious Sunday Lunch. Choice of 1, 2 or 3 courses. Tasty starters. Excellent selection of beautifully cooked veg, Choice of 3 tender meats. Creamy mash. For dessert we had homemade apple pie and lots of piping hot custard. Service friendly and efficient. Extra veg offered. Can't recommend this venue highly enough. We'll definitely be back!

We telephoned and booked a table for 6.30 and explained we would have two young children with us. No probs with children dining in the pub there was was plenty of other kids dining there too. Hubby got the drinks at the bar and the waitress gave us the menus. The waitress was the only one in the dining room and the poor thing was rushed off her feet. It was awhile before she was able to take our orders. It was another hour before the food arrived!! Desserts took awhile too.But we had no complaints with the food. My steak was delicious. I think perhaps they need more staff, both in the kitchen and in the dining room.

A group of 8 of us are here Saturday night for a friends birthday. Haven't been in 20years so didn't know what to expect,we weren't disappointed! Food took longer than expected but when it arrived we understood why. All home cooked ,fresh and outstanding. At reasonable prices as well. And above all the Service was great as well. We made a night of it and the polite and friendly barmaid made us feel so welcome,offered us another round of drinks even though we were the only ones in there and she could have closed up early. A great night was had by all and will definitely be returning. This lovely pub should be so proud of its staff!

The food is out of this world! All homemade from locally sourced produce and such a talented chef. Every mouthful is a taste sensation....very friendly and helpful staff - a most enjoyable experience ..highly recommended 👌🏼

Went for Sunday Lunch today, absolutely lovely. Choice of three meats, I had pork which came with crackling, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, stuffing and then the vegetables came in separate bowls.I highly recommend The Lewis Arms for Sunday Lunch and they also cater for your needs.

I went to the Lewis arms after a friend had recommended it to me. I was not disappointed. The meal was all home cooked and very tasty. The steak was spot on. I think the only draw back with this place is the decor is a bit dated, but I will definitely be returning.

My wife and I went here for a quick meal after work .Waitress/barmaid was very pleasant.Food was quite slow coming seeing as it was quiet at 5pm, we both enjoyed the food, fish and chips and steak pie , portion size was good .I would have given 4/5 if the food arrived a bit quicker. Price wise it's about the same as any other pub/restaurant.I would go back.

Called on the off chance for a meal at the Lewis Arms and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Had to wait a little as everything is cooked to order and cooked perfectly. Looking forward to returning.

As part of a bus tour from the States, we were treated like Royalty by the owners Catherine and Robert Evans. They set up a party room complete with an American Flag and banners. Th staff was very attentive to our needs and the food was excellent. Mathew, the chef, impressed us all with his culinary skills. When we left the restaurant, the whole staff lined up outside to wave goodbye. It was very touching, and a very memorable experience.

This facility was well run and served a three course meal to 39 travelers (ordered in advance) in a timely and efficient manner. The meal was easily the best I've had in the British Isles. Well prepared and beautifully presented by Chef Matthew. Add to this the full line up of well crafted Felinfoel ales and you have a real winner! Owners Catherine and Robert Evans have a right to be proud of their establishment.

Wow!!! What an amazing traditional three (3) course Welsh dinner. From the planning stages to our departure, Catherine and Robert were fantastic. Catherine accommodated our group of thirty-nine (39) brewery tour enthusiasts from the U. S. and Canada on Saturday; May 13, 2017. The atmosphere of the Lewis Arms couldn't be better. The service was fast, efficient, and extremely friendly (our meals were ordered ahead of time). A CAMRA member would be proud to stop here as the local Felinfoel Brewery rep completely stocked the bar with ALL of their products. An yes, real ale is the norm here with the condition spot on. Chef Matthew: I'm not sure that I'll be able to find the words to describe our dinner, but some that come to mind are: fantastic, incredible, savory, maybe even divine. Matthew your food was incredible. You are a diamond in a rural pub. Our main meal choices were beef ladder braised in Felinfoel Celtic Pride Ale, poached sewin, or panfried chicken supreme. Follow up after the trip had all indicating that this was...by far...the best meal of the entire trip! The local patrons in the pub were extremely friendly; we're sorry we turned your pub into a busier, louder place that night, but you were the quintessential hosts. I don't know when, but I will DEFINITELY get back to the Lewis Arms for another supremem meal accompanied by the perfect Felinfoel pint. You want something different but very tasty this is the place

Everything was excellent, been in the day for lunch and evening for main menu, would not eat out anywhere else now, this is the best place, you will wait slightly longer than other places for your food as it is all cooked fresh, but i prefer to wait than have food served from a microwave.
