Tafarn Tanerdy in Carmarthenshire

Lovely atmosphere, extremely friendly and helpful staff, excellent food. We visit Tafarn Tanerdy every year to have our mother/grandmother's memorial meal. The staff are always wonderful, as is the food and drink, with plenty of vegetarian choice. Child and dog friendly as well, with menus for both. We are never disappointed!

Pub almost empty only one ale on .food very basic , The server told us they had lost the sauce for the steak and were doing another. Waited till half way through meal for it to turn up . Had a burger that was well scorched with very little in it and a hand full of chips thrown on the plate . Garlic bread soggy and not great. This is the second poor review i have left for a marstons pub, shame as venue is nice.

Food was amazing and fairly priced. We were served Ally who was so nice and welcomed us straight away. Food came out fast and we had desserts which was to die for. Couldn’t be happier, would highly recommend. They are also family and dog friendly!!

Came on Sunday for a fantastic Sunday lunch food was spot on and the service we received from Jennifer was fab we had a fantastic service from her and the banter was fantastic. The kids enjoyed the sweets she gave them too . Thank you Jennifer for a top afternoon. We will be back for another meal very soon

Had a fabulous visit to tafarn tanerdy today. We were passing through and stopped in as we haven’t been for years, we were not disappointed! Great selection of food and drink, even for the picky eaters of the family!! Staff couldn’t do enough for us, friendly and efficient even though it was quite busy. We were served by Conor, Peter and Jess. will definitely be returning soon!!

Outstanding place staff are very helpful food is amazing plenty for the kids there is play area for them and a pool table and darts board as well recommend this place to anyone who looking for a very good place to eat with family and friends 5 Stars well done to all the staff team for every they do to help the public.

I had 8oz Aged Serloin asked for medium TOUGHEST I've had for a long time never had Serloin with grisle running through and round before, by the time i cut i off 8oz went to 5oz. I have bought Aldi staek much better and edible. I'm sure that the Cheff/Cook could do real chips and not frozen. The tables were so sticky we had to put menus on the table to avoid the stick.

Plenty of space, not too busy when we visited. Quick and efficient service. Food was enjoyed by us all.

Fabulous pub with an even better beer garden, you can order on the app to save time queuing at the bar, staff are very friendly and polite, Conor, Michelle and Nicky take exceptional care of you!

The food has always been very good and excellent value for money, with a gluten free option if desired. The 30% off mains makes it even better! We have never received less than an exceptional service from Connor and his team. They are so warm and welcoming, love going to Tanerdy. There are practically no beer gardens in the area, but Tanerdy offers a well maintained garden, far enough from the main road with a well kept safe children’s play area. Plenty of sunshine in the garden with shaded areas if you prefer. Indoors in clean, warm and inviting.

Very friendly, attentive staff. Always such a nice environment. Food was lovely and fresh/hot, and not much of a wait on food considering it was quite busy. The park and garden area is always an added bonus to keep the children happy - always happy to return :-)

The staff was lovely and friendly however the food was much to be desired for, the Sunday roasts were cold/ lukewarm and the deserts were still frozen in the middle.

We.allways come to tanerdy for food at least twice a week. Walk in and no issues at all. Even at busy times Recently we been trying to go for meal.a couple times and been turned away. For beeng fully booked with an empty restaurant. Even told backlog in the kitchen. They seem to be really understaffed

Burger was burnt. Even the cheese was burnt so bad it was black. Won't be returning any time soon.

Below average food, I keep thinking this time it will be better but have been disappointed on multiple occasions now, wont be returning.

We as a family recently visited Tafarn Tanerdy. A lovely warm welcome on arrival. We had an excellent experience. The staff could not do enough for us. We had a variety meals which were all delicious. Highly recommended

Was welcomed by staff and they were really friendly. Placed an order for 4 meals and drinks and were able to open a tab, which was great! Food came really promptly and was piping hot and cooked nicely. The child’s portion was excellent (curry and rice) and was a great size. All other mains were well presented and tasty. Good pub grub. Desserts and hot drinks also were quickly prepared and equally delicious. Again staff were friendly and helpful when paying the bill. Was a good meal and will be back next time in the area. Good tasty, filling, delicious pub food!

Just on the off chance after shopping in Carmarthen, decided to go for food. Looked to see what was about on Google maps. Decided on the Tafarn Tanerdy as we like the menus in the Marston chain pubs. A lovely welcome from Shanua explained the way things worked. Nice to have cask beer on the pull a nice pint of Rev James also Cruzcampo the wife favourite. Food didn't take long, a lovely Steak cooked to my liking with Diane sauce, and a fish and chips with mushy peas. It was more like a whale. Both well cooked meals. Great service nice atmosphere and nice and clean and tidy. Will definitely go there next time we visit Carmarthen.

I recently visited Tafarn Tanerdy, and I was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern comfort. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely fantastic – each dish was cooked to perfection and packed with flavour. The portions were generous. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

I haven’t been to Tafarn Tanerdy for a while but I will definitely be back. The staff were extremely friendly professional, and although we were there only for drinks, we will definitely be having food next time. The food looked and smelt divine.

Love this place. Always a warm welcome, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Good selection of beers wines and spirits. Also has a nice beer garden, maybe not for this time of the year though.

Visited today for a meal for Valentine’s Day. Food was delicious and the service was top notch! Can’t fault our visit at all and will make sure to return when next in the area!

Lovely food, service and atmosphere, but really let down by the wi-fi. Maybe nothing to do with the pub owners or staff - probably more to do with the brewery (Marston's). Yes, there's wi-fi and it may be good, but to register to use it, you have to enter your date of birth (not unreasonable) but to do that, you have to swipe backwards through each individual month from the current date, back to your birth month. No option to enter the date, or go back a year per swipe. Even for a recent 18 year old, that's 216 swipes, but for me... let's say it's considerably more. Sure, you don't go to the pub to surf the internet, but some of us have jobs we need to keep in touch with. The venue say the option is there, but if I can't find it, it needs to be made more prominent. Marston's (or pub proprietor) - if you don't want customers to use your wi-fi, just turn it off. Oh, and let me know when it's done, so it's worth visiting again.

Second to none. Super food, very quick too. Lovely attentive service. Huge thanks to Shauna for a really lovely lunchtime family get together. Always love coming here. Will be back soon.

An extremely pleasant evening. We've only lived in the area for just over a year and wanted somewhere to go on Christmas Eve. My husband found Tafarn Tanerdy. We thought we'd give it a go. The food was good quality, flavoursome and hot. We had the lasagne snd gammon. The staff is friendly and hardworking. The people lovely and sociable. It was a very enjoyable evening. The tribute singer presented ABBA Her name was Lisa Starlight Baker, and she was outstanding in her delivery of the songs. It was free to watch, too. We will definitely go again and take family, too. .

We went for lunch, the food was lovely and the staff were really nice and friendly great choice of food , my only problem was that the toilet facilities were not clean and didn't reflect on how good the main area was it was like chalk and cheese, if you went into the toilets first you probably wouldn't have had any food there

The meal (turkey dinner) was overall very good, especially the roast potatoes. The turkey was not dry but the veg was overdone for me but that's a personal preference. Could have had one more slice of turkey, two wasn't quite enough. But the meal was tasty and hot and complemented by good gravy. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pud with ice cream, it was delicious. The staff were all very friendly and the overall meal was very enjoyable with nice Christmassy decor which helped get us all in the spirit. Thank you Tanerdy.

The experience is great and we visit here often the staff are brilliant but the only issue is we rush you round change the menu.

Every month, my friends and I, we enjoy the food, the drinks and the atmosphere, all at reasonable prices!

We have been without warm food since Saturday night (storm darrah), so when I say food was terrible you must belive me, dehydrated fish, over cooked mushrooms, and hardly any heat in the place, i was asked if everything was ok with the meal but I said it was fine as we were so cold and hungry. Won't visit again.

Booked for a Xmas party for 40 staff. Function room was spacious but self-contained enough to allow conversations around all our tables. Service was impeccable from the moment we arrived through the door. Food was fresh and all tasted great. We had a few drop outs due to weather warnings so we were provided with takeaway boxes for excess. Everyone left Xmas party full, merry and wanted to book again for next year!

Have had a lot of OK meals here over the years. This week we were served quite possibly the worst pub grub we’ve ever had anywhere.Had to send one meal back as it was cold. Returned having been blitzed in the microwave and inedible. Chicken and bacon sandwich served with dry bread, luke warm chicken and hardly any bacon. Chips burnt, or a poor attempt at triple cooked! Pub was really quiet (lunchtime) so no excuse. Not a word of apology.

Having a lovely family day (dog included) in the beer garden, beautiful day, lovely view across the Towy valley. Thought I give the app a go to order from the table. Brilliant, quicker than going to the bar, payment all sorted immediately, no fuss or bother. Will definitely use it again.

Staff seemed confused on some of the till processes. Food wait was 40 minutes. The staff were polite though and very apologetic about the wait. Food was fine which is about all that can be said about it.

Good menu choices, very polite staff. On leaving, the car wouldn't start so I returned inside and a gentleman who I presume was the boss was so kind, brought his car round and we used jump leads. He didn't hesitate. Extremely grateful to this very kind man. Lovely friendly place overall, they even have a doggy menu!

Our 1st visit and we were welcomed brilliantly along with our dog. 🐶 Beers for us and a bowl of water for Wilf. Drinks and meals 🍺🍛 followed with a chicken and gravy meal for Wilf which is a 1st for him. I think he loved every mouthful. 😁 We were treated exceptionally well by the attentive staff and will definitely call back again before the end of our hols. A*****

Short of time when we got there, when we got there nobody at bar, waited 15 minutes without any service so we had to leave without ordering, as we travelled from Swansea, normally we have good and quick service very disappointed this time.

Had ale pie with mash and gravy The gravy was gravy granules lumpy!!! The mash was out of a packet chef hadn’t mixed it enough I could taste the flake powder. Thrown together Also got our drink order wrong. Second time I have been there giving the benefit of the doubt. Will NOT be returning.

Absolutely shocking I stop going for food years ago because it was terrible but started going again recently and it was ok but after my last visit I will not be going back and I’ll warn friends and family not to waste money, I spent nearly £70 what a waste of money, if this is the standard you should close the business for good.

A fantastic Sunday lunch. The beef was gorgeous with plenty of veg. The manager Conor was so welcoming and was fab in helping my gluten free partner. Will be back!

I’ve come here a few times with my boyfriend and I’ve never had a bad experience. The staff are lovely and attentive and the food is always top notch. Yes, we were 4 guests at Tafarn Tanerdy for lunch. We ordered individual meals which were cooked in a timely manner. The quality of the food was excellent. Everyone ordered different choices of food and were very happy with the meals. Staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the whole experience. The cost of the meals was very reasonable compared to some local restaurants or pubs. I think if you require quality, quantity, and value Tafarn Tanerdy is a very good choice. Plenty of parking available.
