Not been to what was a lovely little lunch spot for some time but what a price hike! Prices online did not reflect those on the menu. Lemon cake dry & brick-like despite cream & fruit. Tiramisu very rich & sweet, unable to finish either. Coffees very expensive too. Very disappointed that practically all lunch options £10-£20 at least!!

This is a great family run restaurant which has an early evening offering. The food is home cooked and delicious, a nice selection of drinks and a warm cosy atmosphere. Would definatley come again the owners were so welcoming. Steak was juicy and well cooked as was the chicken escallop. Pasta and lasagna were coked with great flavours and we couldn't fault anything. Good value for money

We had lunch at this lovely friendly cafe, more like a little bistro restaurant. The staff were welcoming and helpful and we felt every well looked after. The atmosphere was happy and buzzing as it filled up for lunchtime. We could easily hear each other over the other diners. The food was filling and delicious. I recommend the Spaghetti alla carbonara and home made Tiramisu! My husband enjoyed the lemon drizzle cake very much too. We will definitely be back. Thank you for turning a normal lunch into a lovely occasion 🤗

Popped in here for a coffee and ended up staying for lunch after spotting a delicious looking home cooked lasagne fresh out of the oven. In the end I chose the chicken with a mushroom sauce which came with an interesting and unusual combination of vegetables and salad. My husband had spaghetti which he was extremely happy with and other customers were served delicious looking jacket potatoes and eggs bendedict or attractively presented sandwiches with ample accompanying salad. The staff were friendly and attentive and you felt that your enjoyment of your meal really mattered to them. We didn't have room for dessert but the Tiramasu looked fabulous. Another time! We will definitely be back!

This place is very expensive and was shocked to see a bill for £27.20 for two coffee's and three deserts. Although the coffee's and deserts were lovely, in no way were they £27.20 lovely and you can have the same for much cheaper elsewhere. The service was fine so no complaints there so unless you have deep pockets I sadly can't recommend this place. Way too expensive.

My husband and I found this place by accident whilst having a walk around Chelmsford and so glad we did! We ordered eggs benedict for our breakfast and we were amazed by both presentation and taste. The owners (husband and wife) were very friendly and attentive. The owner said that they are now open until 10 on Wednesday-Saturday so we cannot wait to return at the end of this week for some home made pasta dinner. Yum!

What a find! Looking for a place for coffee and cake before a pediatritian appointment for my daughter and stumbled upon this gem. Super warm welcome on entering, the staff were so kind and friendly to my daughters it was like walking into a friends kitchen! This changed hands about a year ago and it’s now a delightful Italian cafe / restaurant. Today I had the most wonderful roast vegetable salad that was beautifully presented. Roast vegetables on a dressed leaf base with large pieces of basil, dill and flat leaf parsley and a balsamic dressing round the edge of the wide rimmed bowl. The roast vegetables were slightly warm; not the fridge cold veg you so often get. Very welcoming service made my quick work lunch a real pleasure. A family with a small child was welcomed and I’m sure they had a lovely time. I look forward to visiting again as soon as possible. And they make their own biscotti!!

Lovely little restaurant situated in Moulsham Street just a short 3 minute walk from Chelmsford High Street. Quite cosy and intimate inside, great attentive service with tasty food. However it is a little cramped, which means you will clearly hear the conversation on the table next to you. Similarly, I'm not a fan of kitchen smells, and the cooking and dining area are all in one room. Tasty food, great service, all at a very fair price - will definitely return.

Our first visit today. Lovely welcome on arrival, drinks arrived quickly and it was very relaxed. We both ordered pasta dishes - arrabiata & neapolitana. Really delicious food! The decor is clean and fresh with a second room to the rear. It was just us two eating in although a couple of people came in for takeaway. The cafe does not have a drinks licence but you are welcome to take your own and they do not charge corkage. However they are only open during the day so perhaps this is not an issue. We will definitely visit again.

I visited the Lemon Tree for lunch whilst travelling for work. I was pleasantly greeted and the cafe was clean and tidy. The salad I was served was excellent, with a really wide variety of fresh and cooked veg and fruit. It was exactly what I was looking for and was a generous size. No Gluten Free cakes were available, which was a shame as this was why I tried the cafe in the first place, but you can’t win them all! I will definitely be returning when on business in Chelmsford.

My wrap (Grilled Med Veg) was bland and tasteless, it came with a few tortilla chips. I wouldn't recommend it. They said their delivery of coronation chicken wouldn't arrive until the following day, which I thought was odd as assumed they made it on the premises. I guess the Earl Grey tea was OK but the whole place felt cold and sterile. There weren't many nice looking cakes left (it was only 12.30 when we arrived) The place was clean but the toilet seat had a big crack in it! After a long illness I've been doing my best to become more active - which means that, when I have the energy, I like to pop into town for no particular reason... except to find somewhere nice for a cuppa and a salad or a slice of cake. When The Lemon Tree popped up as a suggestion on my Facebook feed I decided to give it a go, since my husband was taking me into town for the afternoon anyway. What a lovely little nook away from the bustle! A pot of English Breakfast for two was swiftly delivered, in an oversized teapot accompanied by oversized teacups (the best way to drink tea, in my humble opinion). My husband opted for the chicken and ham wrap whilst I ordered a slice of the carrot cake that I'd heard such good things about - and a very generous slice it was too! Also very light and fluffy; I'm a keen baker and would be envious of the quality if I hadn't been too busy enjoying it so much!I shall definitely be stopping in again; worth crossing town for.

Popped in while waiting for an appointment elsewhere and had a lovely tuna cheese melt sandwich with a pot of tea. Reasonably priced. Quick service and freshly made to order. Had a little spot to read my kindle and relax while waiting for my lunch. Very pleasant and hope to return in the future.

I have visited here a few times both for drinks and lunch and have always found it a joy to visit. Good selection of drinks and homemade food on offer and reasonably priced. Small place but buggy friendly when they have the room.

This is a small coffee shop on the other side of the Parkway, across from the Main Street shopping area in downtown Chelmsford. It is a coffee shop that is well worth the visit. The coffee is good, the cheesecake incredible, and the service is friendly and caring. It is a place worth re-visiting!

My OH and I called in to Rossini's on Friday evening for a quick bite to save cooking. The restaurant is in a cordoned off section of the Two Brewers Pub, and although the pub itself seemed quite busy we were surprised that there were no other diners in the restaurant area. The restaurant area is decorated with artificial plants, vases and pots, and photos of Italy - it's not really flash but feels cosy and like a little authentic Italian family neighbourhood restaurant. Service was excellent, both of our servers were friendly and chatty, and despite being the only diners we didn't feel uncomfortable or unwelcome which can sometimes be the case. Food was first rate, again nothing flash but authentic and reasonably priced pasta, pizzas and main course grills in good sized portions. My OH had Arancini for a starter, I tried it too and we both thought it was very tasty. I had a spicy chicken, bacon and tomato penne and it was very spicy but lovely, my OH had the house pasta which he declared very good. We were both too full for desserts but next time we will save room! I do hope Rossini's gets more customers as they deserve to succeed, it is so nice to have an authentic and well priced Italian in Chelmsford instead of all the chain restaurants and over priced 'special occasion' restaurants.

Earlier in year we held my mums 'wake' all staff were caring/helpful/understanding.We could have balloons/photos/films show..the buffet was very good, the rooms gave it a 'softer' feel . for a sad occasion.lowers on the tables. most guests complemented us on our choice/poshness of all ,,, we had been for meals before, & I'm sure would be a good hotel to stay in ….so thankz to all it would have pleased my Mum

Last year I was doing hospitality and catering level 2 and I was waitering in this restaurant so I know what it’s like. Then I thought why don’t I just see what’s it’s like as a customer? Came today and OMG! I love it. Food was brilliant! I ordered a scotch egg (it was really filling but it was lovely), sweet and sour pork with fried rice (this meal combined brilliantly!), and profiteroles (the choux pastry was good and cream and chocolate was amazing). The service was good but as I learnt last year how to do posh waitering you have to serve from the left and clear from the right and you have to do de-crumbing e.t.c. They didn’t do de crumbing or the serve and clear as they forgot. I understand that. But even though I absolutely loved it (it did feel awkward as I was a waiter before here but you can get used to it! 😂) Definitely will come again! Thank you princes room restaurant. And well done to the waiter! 😁😁
