Cosy Club in Chelmsford

The Cosy Club feels like a premium dining experience. It's the best I've been to in Chelmsford. I always bring visiting family and friends here and they leave happy too. From being greeted and shown to the table to paying the bill the service is top notch. Table water provided. Staff are always professional, helpful and courteous. I've tried most things on the menu, currently the Spanish chicken is a favourite. The art deco style is unique in Chelmsford. Big fan of The Cosy Club, if you hadn't noticed!

I have been here a few times and it's always been good but came for breakfast for the first time. The bubble and squeak with bacon was delicious, the service was great and everything prompt! It's also a really nice atmosphere

Can't praise this place enough. The service was impeccable, great ambience and food was delicious. Had two dogs with us, so I was initially worried if we could relax.. but we were made to feel comfortable and welcomed the whole time we were there. My son can't have gluten, soya and certain dairy. We usually feel embarassed asking about different food ingredients and most places won't cater for his intolerances nowadays. Once again, they were amazing checking everything and we weren't made to feel awkward at all. Very reassuring. My son enjoyed his meal and did not have any issues after. What a gem of a place. 😊

Clean,Resonable Priced,Great Service, Awesome atmosphere

Me and a friend came here for breakfast this morning last minute decision and we were blown away. Our server Chris was super friendly and attentive he was fabulous with my friend who has some allergies All of her food and milk for the tea was marked with stickers for her allergies But the best bit was the food! She had a gluten free standard breakfast and I had the butchers breakfast and everything about it was stunning! Super fresh super good quality and enough of it! Top notch, amazing, will be returning

True to its name, it has a really comfortable atmosphere with fantastic decor and space. The staff are very helpful and attentive, with good systems in place that means service is smooth and effective. The drinks are inventive and worth the price. Food is usually very good but can be hit and miss, especially with steak, however the staff are quick to rectify this. Well worth a visit for any occasion!

Myself and friends came to Cosy Club with our partners for the first time for some drinks at the weekend prior to Valentines Day. The venue is very well presented and is extremely nice, clean and tidy. From what we saw, the food being served looked absolutely amazing. We will definitely eat on our next visit. The venue has a great atmosphere and ambience and the staff are very friendly and helpful & extremely attentive. We loved how all the staff wore similar colours which suited the style of the premises. We would also like to compliment your security team who were working on the night we visited. We have to say that the two guys were very welcoming, it was also refreshing to see that they were also dressed accordingly to suit the needs of your beautiful venue. Just to say that your security team is definitely the best we have ever seen at any licensed premises. It is so easy to see why you have employed the two guys. They are charming, witty, and so friendly. You can also sense they enjoy their job. They have a great aura about themselves. Can't fault it - great service and food

The restaurant is comfortable and the decor is great. Food is good, but let down by the service. The staff are friendly, but clearly overworked. Several customers ended up wearing their meals, where staff were in such a rush. After our main course, we were pretty much ignored by the staff, until a waitress asked, in a questionable tone 'Do want anything else?' Like it was a liberty if we did. After another long wait, we paid the bill and left. Could have been a good meal out, but it wasn't. Sad times.

I arrived to be told there wasn't a booking for me (table of 5) ... MY error! 🙄 Graham the Manager was amazing at accommodating us, despite the restaurant being very busy plus, which included my 90 year ol mum who had so been looking forward to our family lunch. If you read this Graham, I can't thank you enough 🤗🙌. Lovely waiting staff, great food, atmosphere and decor. Will definitely return, without me driving, so that I can have more than one Mango Colada .. preferably during the time frame when you can buy 2 for 1 😋

Good friendly service,nice food.

It was a bit like sitting in a holiday camp canteen. All you can here are loud voices. The food was mediocre, it does make me wonder how they manage to cook it so quickly, the food wasn't overly hot either.

Absolutely top notch service from Kane, matt and Alice, cannot fault them despite being very busy! This bar team is a brilliant part of your team, well done to them they deserve praise for their attitude towards customer service even though very busy, smashed it guys

I like this a lot for a Sunday brunch. Its our goto in town. Might try ot as a bar one night..

Such a lovely venue! And great service too. Would be a good place for gatherings, parties and even wedding parties! Try it, you won’t regret it.

We have been to cosy club a few times and the things that attract us to it is the atmosphere is very nice, service is good, food quality is good and just the right price.

Could rate this any worse , the setup is good love the photos and vintage feel But drink menu , and food is diabolical My steak was tiny and terrible cold taste

Loved the decor and the drinks were very nice. The prices were more what you would expect in London though.

Great venue, good atmosphere, excellent bar staff, brilliant service. I must also mention that your security team are extremely professional at their job, they look great in the Peaky Blinders attire (love it). They are very welcoming, positive, courteous and respectful. They greet everyone with a cheerful smile & a verbal greeting, which is a good start. As the first port of call to the venue, they are impressive and refreshing to see (unlike other door staff in the vicinity of the premises). I always look forward to seeing the two guys, for the banter, happiness and joy they bring to Cosy Club Chelmsford. They are an asset to your venue.

We had our christmas party there well presented good food and good service

Greeted quickly and our waitress was lovely. The mocktails were really nice. Crayfish roll was a bit dry and annoying that you all have to get the festive menu if one person wants it. Why? I work in a restaurant and it makes no difference to the kitchen... Busy for a Wednesday lunch which was good. Big sized coffee! Food was fine. Liked the separate vegan menu!

Alice and Kane were absolutely incredible at the bar, the small plates were unreal which were suggested by leah who done an amazing job in the restaurant aswell as tending to the bar area, these 3 people deserve big praise as well as the kitchen

Came here for the first time today, have been wanting to visit for a while and it will definitely become a regular favourite. Lovely food, ambience and staff. Would highly recommend.

We visited for breakfast. It was way better than “Bixx” but similar price. I would prefer original baked beans than the one with bacon. Overall it was outstanding!

Great ambience. Very vintage, jazzy yet touches of modernism. Food is excellent and very amicable service. Will always go there again and again. I will say one of the best service in town

Went for Sunday brunch, hadn’t visited before so decided to give it a go. Service was excellent and we didn’t have to wait for a table. Good atmosphere. But unfortunately the food let it down. Our toast was cold and poached eggs overcooked. However the food was presented nicely and the coffee was good. But due to the food we would probably choose somewhere else next time.

What a lovely little restaurant hidden in this area of Chelmsford. Food tasty (we had the steak which was beautifully cooked) and well presented, staff attentive, polite and helpful without going over the top, very much appreciated. Loved the decor and all the pictures on the walls. Highly recommended.

I am obsessed with this place! It's too beautiful not to rate it! It is indeed really cosy with plenty of seats, delicious food and an extended list of mocktails/ cocktails/ drinks etc.

The place is pretty and the food is ok but serving 2 croquettes for 7,25£ is just ridiculous. I’m sorry I just thought it was a joke when they brought it.

We tried out the Cosy Club for the first time after a Christmas shopping trip. As per the previous reviews we both chose the dirty chicken burger (with a seasonal variation for Christmas). It was splendid and good value. The seasonal additions made for some interesting flavours. The restaurant wasn't busy on the late Tuesday lunchtime that we visited. The atmosphere was nice and we would certainly look it up again if in the area.

As it says on the tin, it's a very cozy bar! Huge range of drinks and beautifully decorated.

Puddings were the best I had. (Sticky Toffee and Apple Tart). So recommended. Staff friendly. Service was slow and I had to chase the next course and the bill. 60-90 mins between main and pudding ( which was well worth the wait) but far too long await for me. Great place to go on a date. I would go back

Really great atmosphere, lot's of choice of draught lagers and cocktails were superb! Decor is really cool and gives an air of Art Deco, looking forward to going back to eat there in December. Staff were very good, efficient and courteous. The bar was fairly busy but plenty of chairs/stools, the bar itself was sticky and wasn't wiped over at all! The toilets were clean regularly checked. The door staff were also friendly.

I love this place and go there quite a lot, not just for food but also to drink. The atmosphere is good, and the staff, especially Kane, are very professional, competent, and extremely knowledgeable.

Brilliant place to eat great staff

Amazing food, I would highly recommend the Spanish chicken as a main. The sour cherry whisky cocktails are very smooth yet fruity in addition to complimenting this.

Was recommended this restaurant from Reddit and it truly lives up to the hype and its name.

First time we had visited a Cosy Club, and we weren’t disappointed. We had breakfast and the food was amazing, lovely fresh produce, and cooked to perfection. Our waitress Christa was very polite and very attentive. The dining area was very relaxed and had fabulous decor. Well worth a visit, we certainly will be back.

Fast becoming my favourite place to visit in Chelmsford. I can never decide what to have and our waitress Lucy guided without being overbearing. I had the dirty chicken burger and F me it was incredible! Amazing venue, staff and food. Genuinely cannot fault the place.

😃 Didn't even know this place existed. Popped in for lunch (party of 5). Seated immediately and served promptly. The house burger was lovely. A lovely selection of food. Every one in our party thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Will I come back..... 100% yes... can't wait 😁👍.

Good ambience. Absolute rubbish breakfast. Smallest possible Cumberland, burnt bacon, stale bread and the hash brown not sure what it was. Please do not have breakfast there. Worst ever

I have been to other Cosy Clubs, but this is the best. A lovely atmosphere. Beautifully decorated, and very comfortable casual seating as well as dining. Food was very good. Different dishes selected by our fairly large group, including children, served by pleasant staff. Would recommend.

We discovered Cosy Club in Canterbury and loved it. So when we found out there was one in Chelmsford we were really excited to give it a go. We came here Saturday. We ordered two drinks. These drinks did take a while to be delivered. Partner ordered flat iron steak medium. It came out well done. I saw it immediately as the steak is cut up and was totally brown. A lady said "sorry the wrong food went to the wrong table". Few minutes later a manager came over and said "sorry about the well done steak it was ordered wrong ive taken it off the bill" two conflicting stories there. When the mains were originally brought out we had no cutlery. When partners replated steak came over It was swimming in juice, no garnish just with fries. Looked like it had been slapped on the plate and thrown out with no care. Again no steak knife given with the new steak. I had finished my food by the time his food had arrived. I appreciate the steak being taken off the bill, i realise also that mistakes can be made, I dont however appreciate that there was barely an apology given. We just paid and left.

Good service, good food, not expensive.

We went there for lunch the 4 of us. Got a table no problem and service was quick and welcoming. Menus had a lot of variety even the gluten free options for my wife. Cocktail list was impressive and some great twists on classics that tasted great my favourite was the cherry bakewell. Food was very tasty and presented well with speedy service all in all great place to eat.

Came hear last night for some dinner the food was amazing, at a fairly good price, the waiting staff were really good to disint need to wait long before getting asked if we needed a top up for drinks or anything like that the waitress we had I didint get her name, but she was very friendly, with a big smile every time she came to our table, so a very big thanks to her.

Really stunning interiors and lovely balcony for summer drinks! It is huge and probably doesnt need to be as there are a lot of empty tables. More sofa seating areas would be great for the evening.

Great experience. Nice warm welcome, good ambience and nicely decorated with quirky little touches. Friendly and attentive staff, good food at reasonable prices. For those with mobility problems there is a lift to take you up to the restaurant. Would definitely go here again. Probably best to book as I would imagine it gets very busy at peak times.

My Niece joined me from Manchester and loved it so will be going to the Manchester Cosy Club asap. Evie, Leah & Ed were great. Booked in again with friends tomorrow 👍🏻

A great spot which I wish I had more time to enjoy! We were a small hen party group who were warmly welcomed (despite being a bit late for our reservation). I was presented with a congratulatory glass of bubbles on the house as the bride which was a lovely touch. The food was divine, a decent wine list added to this and service was efficient and outstanding. I will definitely be back to enjoy a more leisurely dinner when we aren’t rushing off to a nightclub after!!

I’m not one for writing reviews normally, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever written one but I felt today was worth the effort of writing a review. I had come into cosy club this afternoon just as I was passing with family and had I read the previous negative reviews I would not have. However I am glad I did. Initially myself and my family were served by a young guy, seemed like he was trying to be happy and attentive but came across as careless and borderline rude. Soon after a waitress came over and explained she’d be taking over our service, and brought us water and took our order. a young girl in a lovely tartan dress (I think the recipt said Lona?). The restaurant was bustlingly busy and she was by the seems of things the only waitress, being supported by an equally lovely tall man who seemed important. She brought a wonderful aire of happiness to the restaurant and despite bei my run off her feet, to every table she appeared extremely polite and kind and nothing was too much for her. She had a wonderful relationship with the other man working (I think she referred to him as her manager) and it was lovely seeing a young person have so much respect for authority but also having a great bond together. It made us feel so so welcome and honestly turned our experience around completely. I had the Huevos ranch as did my friend, and I can’t remember what the others had. The fish finger sandwich was recommended to us for a filling lunch but not a whole dinner and my sister who had that thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall an excellent experience thanks to the glorious food (my thanks to the chefs) and our brilliant waitress. Don’t listen to negative reviews, this place is amazing and I will be back. Only negative which didn’t affect us was that tables were taking a while to be cleared so the restaurant looked a bit messy but the staff worked so hard I don’t blame them.

Service was shockingly awful. The breakfast reminded me of something from a can . Sorry but I could not come back . Hollow building that was Argos apparently. Surprised I did not have to have order from their catalogue. We won’t be back . ;(

Lovely brunch today at the Cosy Club Chelmsford. Lovely setting and well decorated first floor venue. Lovely servers for our table and a generous bottle of bubbly to help celebrate a wedding brunch. Food was well prepared and presented but just a bit cold considering the venue was not busy at all. However overall a graat place to stop by for a but to eat. We all loved it. Well done guys.

Recently enjoyed a delightful bottomless brunch outing with friends. The food - a scrumptious smashed avocado on toast with a perfectly poached egg - was a winner. A "Cosy Royal" cocktail was a pleasant surprise. The ambiance was relaxed; the music didn't dominate the conversation. Visited on a Thursday afternoon; there was no crowd. The balcony setting was lovely in the sun. Dress code: anything goes during the day. Had the vibe of a decent chain. Almost got startled by the bill however, due to a menu misunderstanding - normal drinks vs. brunch menu. Initially, a £145 surprise, swiftly corrected by a server's prompt action after a discussion. Ended up paying a reasonable £94 for a table of three.

The food & the cocktails were lovely, we had a really nice meal here. We came here as a result of a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint. Staff were also really friendly and were great at recommendations when we were between menu choices. It’s also worth mentioning.. the apple pie is DEFINITELY worth that little bit of an extra wait!

Only had cocktails we didn't eat, but they were great, twists on classics. Service was quick at the bar, we found some comfy seats to relax in, nice atmosphere in there for an evening weekend drink.

Had a lovely family early evening meal here. It was my first time visiting here, and it won't be my last. Loved the whole ambience of the place. Loved the decor and relaxed atmosphere. Service was very good, quick and efficient. We were never rushed, so we felt relaxed enough to take our time. We had booked a 5.30pm table on a Monday. Perhaps a later booking time and on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday may have been a busier period.

Only had one quick drink here. Good setting, unusual, interesting decor. Would like to go back for a longer visit and some food maybe.

Neither "cosy" or a club, just a generic space, with the same predictable format in every venue they have,Their "bar" area consists of impractical high stools, I tried to sit in the dining tables, but was told off. It is a Monday, you have a restaurant area that is completely empty, but unnecessarily removing cutlery it too much hassle, I am forced to sit somewhere else. How do you think my experience of your business was this evening?

Stunning decor, great service from smiling, helpful and attentive staff, and wonderful food from their extensive and varied menu, which was great value. Nothing was rushed or too much trouble. Highly recommended, I look forward to my next visit.

I organised a surprise birthday breakfast for my girlfriends 40th birthday. From start to finish staff were amazing especially Chris who dealt with my booking and took in the cake we had origanised. Meg who was our waitress on the day gave fantastic service and was very attentive throughout. You both went above and beyond. Thank you.

It is cosy and I was very comfortable and well served during my visit. The atmosphere is fantastic. The menu does not offer the types of food I like to eat, so I am not basing the rating on food. This is definitely an impressive place to visit and to meet with friends. I'll be a returning customer for sure!

8 of us sat around a table for brother in law’s birthday. All had different meals and although mine was great, the full English looked even better! Very good service especially from one young man, and when he heard it’s Paul’s bday he surprised him with dessert/candle and we all sang of course! Lovely atmosphere and decor (classy) thank you
