Cosy Club in Chelmsford

Our waiter, Zak, was excellent & front of house member of staff, Kane was very friendly. Both had a great sense of humour. A good time was had by all!

Nice and quiet but it was mid week breakfast. good food but be careful about ordering tap/ bottled water.

My girlfriend and I have gone for 2 dates here (one being new years) and wow the food is incredible. That pulled ox pasta dish is just perfect, a tad small but tastes absolutely stunning. Oh and of course the atmosphere is incredible, c'mon now it's cosy club.

We visited with a friend who had recommended Cosy Club. An amazing space, the decor and overall atmosphere. The food was great, great wines and the menu was very varied and I loved the interesting vegan and vegetarian options. It makes me want to return to try more from the menu! The staff were very friendly and Graham, the manager, was so attentive and helpful. You can totally see why this place is so popular. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here.

I enjoy a Cosy Club in general, and so because I’ve visited a few locations I wouldn’t usually feel the need to leave a review. HOWEVER, our server Amy at this particular Cosy Club was genuinely the highlight of our evening meal & potentially of our entire weekend in Chelmsford. From the first second she came to our table she was friendly, accommodating, funny, & generally a fantastic waiter. Thank you, Amy :)

Popped in on sunday, atmosphere was lovely and relaxed, food was great, had the vegan burger and my only complaint is i wish it had more pickles! We were looked after by Henry who was brilliant, super speedy and so friendly, cant sing his praises enough Definitly be returning when im back in the area!

Third visit since September 2024 with 2,3,4 diners, so not a big party. A large open "L" shaped area with formal dining tables up against the windows and an area round the bar area for more casual drinking. The venue has a wooden floor, shutters on the windows, pictures on the walls, and an external first floor seating / dining area. A lift service from ground floor entrance up to the first floor dining floor if required. Everything thereafter is on the one floor. The atmosphere feels rather colonial as if it were set somewhere hot and exotic rather than Chelmsford and I look forward to visiting when the balcony and windows are open. A full table service for the diners. The place manages to create a respectable distance between drinking customers and dining customers even when it is busy. The ambient noise can be high because of the hard floors and walls. There are no partitions at all in the venue and when we dined on a Saturday evening I found it hard to hear what my guests were saying especially with the music turned up and the noise of the busy bar. The younger people in my party did not have my problem. If my experience could be improved in any way I might suggest some moveable / demountable partitions which would give individual tables a sense of privacy and damp out some of the ambient noise. They will not affect your ability to adapt the room for different party sizes or affect fire routes as they can be moved about as you wish. They would only need to be as high as the diners heads so staff and security can still see what is going on at the tables, just the diners would have a more secluded experience. Maybe. The lunchtime sessions have so far been my most enjoyable as the music was low and the ambient noise was low. There were fewer casual drinkers and about 80% capacity dining. The experience felt a lot more exclusive and expensive than was reflected on the bill. Food and service good on all 3 occasions, even when busy, with a 2 course meal costing under £30 before drinks. Courteous service from all we met from the duty manager on the front desk through to Amy who served us.

Terrible service - was ignored for 15 minutes then took 20 minutes to get drinks that were just left on the bar - never had a dedicated server - seemed to be on a table between zones - wouldn't go back.

A very chilled bar in Chelmsford town centre. Serves food but I haven't tried any so no review on that. Good selection of beers, wines and spirits. Very comfortable seating areas and a small outside balcony for the summer.

Ok as a Pub, but Restaurant, NO. One and only visit.

Can get really noisy, and they let kids in which makes it worse.

What a find! Googled Vegan Restaurant and this came up as having a vegetarian menu.amy places were closed as it was boxing day, but this was open. Just the feel of the place when we arrived was excellent. Feels exclusive and special. Staff were excellent, food was great and menu had enough veggie or vegan options for a few repeat visits. I gave it 5 stars, if scored out of 10 I would have given 9, be aware there are cheaper places to eat. We couldn't go here often, but the extra money is well worth it.

We were in a few weeks ago on a very sad occasion and I have only just remembered to leave a review. The staff were very attentive , the food perfect and the surroundings stunning. Very much a vintage expat style. A hidden gem in a busy city where care and quality is still to be found. My now go to place, that I have already shared with friends and family.

Just had the best night at Cosy Club on New Years Eve! What a perfect venue for celebrating New Year. All the team went above and beyond, from the very busy Manager, Graham, who was such an amazing host, to all the bar and waiting team. Fabulous Cocktails, delicious food and spot on service. We will be back very soon.

Last weekend we had a family get together here, lots of food and lots of drink. Food was lovely and arrived in a timely fashion, bar and floor staff were amazingly accommodating. Everyone (30+) had a great time and said how well it went. Thank you so much. Lovely venue, even great for a dog walk pit stop as dogs welcome.

Really poor experience, booked a table and arrived on time. Was told by the host they were behind and would be 5minutes. 20minutes later was told again it would be 5minutes. 5minutes later there was still no table and walked out

We came over from Belfast to visit my sister, while we were over in Sheffield we were scammed by an unfortunate event. There was a few tears shed, my sister recommend this place. When we arrived, OMG the place was alive with happy faces and great music and decor. We were quickly seated, the menu was expertly created by clearly a gifted chef, then we met Jake, this man deserves a raise and so much praise, he was going from table to table with a smile and proffesionalisim. The waitress at the end was also so lovely ! I’ve worked and ate in some of the finest restraunts and this has topped them. The service from Jake, the food, the buzz, the drinks, Absolutely top notch. This made our trip memorable. Congratulations to the owner, to Jake and the chef and bar staff. GO HERE AND EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC ! Much love from Belfast.

Pleasantly surprise by this place. We had a delicious brunch there. Totally recommend having a Shakshuka! Kids’ menu is a good value. Great flat white for parents. Did I mention the decor? If you are fond of art deco/30s and 40s style, you’ll love the ambience.

Everything is amazing about this place. We have been served by wonderful Amy, she was so attentive which made our visit memorable and from now on this is our fav brekkie place!!

The atmosphere and cocktails are lovely in here. However the food is quite overpriced and my vegan burger was burnt. Would go back to try the food again though and give it a second chance.

I like it here good food and atmosphere and quick service, bit I have noticed the cost has gone up a fair bit since I came when it forst opened.

Arrived for a spot of brunch and greeted by a lovely young lady named Alice. Really cool, she made suggestions from the vegan menu. I thought the food was totally delicious my wife was of a mixed opinion on her dish, but I thought that was tasty too. 😋 Not fully sold on the matcha and ginger tea, but the matcha and vanilla was nice. The place itself is great, a lot to take in and some brill artwork. Would deffo recommend checking it out. Wish I got more pics, but the artwork in the picture I attached was a one off piece. I spent a while studying it. A little pricey but a good treat once in a while. Gotta spoil ourselves from time to time. Really cool!

Absolutely perfect dining experience. I have a lovely waitress named Amy who was very attentive and kind throughout my whole stay. I had the Asian fried chicken and Truffle fries which were delicious. Along with a strawberry lemonade which was also perfect. Would highly recommend cosy club it’s excellent.

Second visit to the cosy club, now our favourite place to eat. Lovely relaxing surroundings and decor and a cosy ambience. Food is always tasty and faultless, lovely friendly staff. Had a 3 course lunch with prosecco, wasn't rushed and will definitely return soon and highly recommend.

We had amazing customer service from Amy. She made us feel very welcome, was very attentive to us and had great manners, we enjoyed our visit and will sure to be back again.

i came into cosy club for the first time and was honestly amazed, the venue was so beautiful the staff were so friendly. i came for drink with friends and managed to get to know a lot of staff specifically: Kai,layla, maddie, lucy and nathan were so lovely, they made my experience so good i loved every second because of their hospitality and welcoming personalities, constantly checking in when our drinks got low and just were amazing people would recommend 1000% i love cosy club chelmsford

My sea bass main was food with a pot of salt added. I sent them a review which they did respond to quickly and have sent me a voucher. I didn't know at the time but on the day my daughter's meal was over strong in garlic. Chef a bit zealous perhaps?

Really tasty food, pleasant ambiance and delightful service from the staff. They even are dog friendly although restricted to the bar. Would highly recommend.

First time visiting this afternoon. Lovely air con on a hot day, this place is really light, airy and has a great ambience. Decor and music is on point. Special shout out to the club sandwich - best I've ever had! Will definitely return.

Great restaurant with a good selection of food and drinks. I had the ravioli with garlic bread and it was fresh and tasty. The staff are all very friendly and accomodating. The decor and atmosphere of this restaurant is also really nice. We had to wait quite a while for our food, but otherwise we really enjoyed this place and would come back again

We went here on father's day, we hadn't booked and wasn't expecting to get seated as there was 8 of us, but we did. I'd like to say how good the staff were on this day, they were polite, well spoken,welcoming and friendly. The food and drink was very very good too. I will definitely be returning.

I don't feel this place is nice place because got served while standing there for long time and there wasn't busy and I notice that some off staff starring us very strange wired and I can stand a nice person but nasty place as I do go yo other places and no one get that look you like this place mainly the manager it self wired experience but I can go have good time somewhere aslo with aut starring from staff and manager it self I will avoid for sure thanks fir starring

Had lunch on the sunny balcony. View is over the river so very nice for such a central location. One of th best chicken burgers I've ever had and the drinks we're all lovely as well. Looking forward to returning for cocktails when we aren't driving

We really enjoyed our lunch here. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Also the uniforms were smart. The menu had a good variety and the food was delicious. We really liked the atmosphere; the paintings and furnishings make it feel classy and the background music wasn't too loud. Look forward to coming here again

This is a nice venue, modern with plenty of space. The staff are very friendly and there are no delays in getting service. The food is okay, I ordered a fillet steak, medium rare, however the quality of meat was not great and was probably one of the chewiest fillet steaks I have had for a while. The truffle fries are worthwhile and the brownie is a very nice dessert.

This excellent visit started with a friendly welcome from Graham and then two glasses of prosecco. We were very well served by the lovely Lucy who was both professional and engaging. The food was service promptly and was very tasty, while there was a really good range of drinks that we did our best to work through. Being a Cosy Club the decor was also opulent and luxurious. When the bill came we realised what good value for money it was too, so a large tip was added.

The Cosy Club feels like a premium dining experience. It's the best I've been to in Chelmsford. I always bring visiting family and friends here and they leave happy too. From being greeted and shown to the table to paying the bill the service is top notch. Table water provided. Staff are always professional, helpful and courteous. I've tried most things on the menu, currently the Spanish chicken is a favourite. The art deco style is unique in Chelmsford. Big fan of The Cosy Club, if you hadn't noticed!

Went for a birthday lunch with my husband and friends. Warm welcome. Great table. When they found out it was my birthday they surprised us with a glass of bubbly. The staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely. The cocktails were amazing. We had a great time.

I have been here a few times and it's always been good but came for breakfast for the first time. The bubble and squeak with bacon was delicious, the service was great and everything prompt! It's also a really nice atmosphere

Can't praise this place enough. The service was impeccable, great ambience and food was delicious. Had two dogs with us, so I was initially worried if we could relax.. but we were made to feel comfortable and welcomed the whole time we were there. My son can't have gluten, soya and certain dairy. We usually feel embarassed asking about different food ingredients and most places won't cater for his intolerances nowadays. Once again, they were amazing checking everything and we weren't made to feel awkward at all. Very reassuring. My son enjoyed his meal and did not have any issues after. What a gem of a place. 😊

Me and a friend came here for breakfast this morning last minute decision and we were blown away. Our server Chris was super friendly and attentive he was fabulous with my friend who has some allergies All of her food and milk for the tea was marked with stickers for her allergies But the best bit was the food! She had a gluten free standard breakfast and I had the butchers breakfast and everything about it was stunning! Super fresh super good quality and enough of it! Top notch, amazing, will be returning

True to its name, it has a really comfortable atmosphere with fantastic decor and space. The staff are very helpful and attentive, with good systems in place that means service is smooth and effective. The drinks are inventive and worth the price. Food is usually very good but can be hit and miss, especially with steak, however the staff are quick to rectify this. Well worth a visit for any occasion!

Myself and friends came to Cosy Club with our partners for the first time for some drinks at the weekend prior to Valentines Day. The venue is very well presented and is extremely nice, clean and tidy. From what we saw, the food being served looked absolutely amazing. We will definitely eat on our next visit. The venue has a great atmosphere and ambience and the staff are very friendly and helpful & extremely attentive. We loved how all the staff wore similar colours which suited the style of the premises. We would also like to compliment your security team who were working on the night we visited. We have to say that the two guys were very welcoming, it was also refreshing to see that they were also dressed accordingly to suit the needs of your beautiful venue. Just to say that your security team is definitely the best we have ever seen at any licensed premises. It is so easy to see why you have employed the two guys. They are charming, witty, and so friendly. You can also sense they enjoy their job. They have a great aura about themselves. Can't fault it - great service and food

The restaurant is comfortable and the decor is great. Food is good, but let down by the service. The staff are friendly, but clearly overworked. Several customers ended up wearing their meals, where staff were in such a rush. After our main course, we were pretty much ignored by the staff, until a waitress asked, in a questionable tone 'Do want anything else?' Like it was a liberty if we did. After another long wait, we paid the bill and left. Could have been a good meal out, but it wasn't. Sad times.

I arrived to be told there wasn't a booking for me (table of 5) ... MY error! 🙄 Graham the Manager was amazing at accommodating us, despite the restaurant being very busy plus, which included my 90 year ol mum who had so been looking forward to our family lunch. If you read this Graham, I can't thank you enough 🤗🙌. Lovely waiting staff, great food, atmosphere and decor. Will definitely return, without me driving, so that I can have more than one Mango Colada .. preferably during the time frame when you can buy 2 for 1 😋

It was a bit like sitting in a holiday camp canteen. All you can here are loud voices. The food was mediocre, it does make me wonder how they manage to cook it so quickly, the food wasn't overly hot either.

Absolutely top notch service from Kane, matt and Alice, cannot fault them despite being very busy! This bar team is a brilliant part of your team, well done to them they deserve praise for their attitude towards customer service even though very busy, smashed it guys

Such a lovely venue! And great service too. Would be a good place for gatherings, parties and even wedding parties! Try it, you won’t regret it.

We have been to cosy club a few times and the things that attract us to it is the atmosphere is very nice, service is good, food quality is good and just the right price.

Could rate this any worse , the setup is good love the photos and vintage feel But drink menu , and food is diabolical My steak was tiny and terrible cold taste

Loved the decor and the drinks were very nice. The prices were more what you would expect in London though.

Great venue, good atmosphere, excellent bar staff, brilliant service. I must also mention that your security team are extremely professional at their job, they look great in the Peaky Blinders attire (love it). They are very welcoming, positive, courteous and respectful. They greet everyone with a cheerful smile & a verbal greeting, which is a good start. As the first port of call to the venue, they are impressive and refreshing to see (unlike other door staff in the vicinity of the premises). I always look forward to seeing the two guys, for the banter, happiness and joy they bring to Cosy Club Chelmsford. They are an asset to your venue.

We had our christmas party there well presented good food and good service

Greeted quickly and our waitress was lovely. The mocktails were really nice. Crayfish roll was a bit dry and annoying that you all have to get the festive menu if one person wants it. Why? I work in a restaurant and it makes no difference to the kitchen... Busy for a Wednesday lunch which was good. Big sized coffee! Food was fine. Liked the separate vegan menu!

Alice and Kane were absolutely incredible at the bar, the small plates were unreal which were suggested by leah who done an amazing job in the restaurant aswell as tending to the bar area, these 3 people deserve big praise as well as the kitchen

We visited for breakfast. It was way better than “Bixx” but similar price. I would prefer original baked beans than the one with bacon. Overall it was outstanding!
