We’re do I start, I drove from Liverpool to horncastle near to this restaurant, I was recommended to visit here by a local who I asked where was nice for a roast dinner. However from walking through the door of the Lea gate inn me and my partner were assisted by very helpful staff in a very professional manner, they made us both feel very comfortable in their establishment. Now let’s get to the food… wowwwww I got the lamb shank roast dinner and I could never describe the taste and quality of the food no matter how much I tried but I would definitely agree that the roast I had today was by far better than any I’d ever eaten before by a country mile. Put it this way the portions are huge and I had to have a sleep before making my journey back to Liverpool because I couldn’t bring myself to leave any of it, even the gravy was so good that I couldn’t bring myself to put mint sauce on the roast as the food was so nice I didn’t want to ruin it. My missus had the Lincoln sausage with mash and caramelised onion in gravy and same again her outcome was exactly the same as mine. We both came to the conclusion that we would travel to Lincolnshire again in the near future just to revisit this restaurant but stay over for night. All in all the experience that we received was unbelievable, The pricing on the food and drinks was reasonable for the quality that you receive, The service is second to none

Very disappointing customer service and care. We were in the area for the weekend for a special family celebration. We found the insistence that we pre-order food strange, given they were unable to tell us what the catch of the day might be. The staff seemed stressed when we arrived and didn't let us sit down or look at the wine list before asking for drink orders. A power cut meant that we had to leave, after being told they could only prepare sausages and mash for us. Sadly, after the power cut happened, instead of giving us the info about the lack of food, they brought our drinks and then insisted that we pay for them when we left - this felt quite dishonest. It wasn't a very large order of drinks and, considering it was late afternoon on a Sunday with nowhere else to go, really felt like a rather mean decision on their behalf. The owner clearly did not care, hardly listening to us, and sent a member of staff to speak with us who just kept repeating that the power cut wasn't in their control (which was not our complaint). After we expressed our disappointment in feeling misled into buying drinks for a meal we weren't aware we could not have, the waitress even suggested that she hoped we would return. We assumed the lack of choice for decent food pubs in the area means that this pub doesn't need to make any effort to care for customers.

We stayed for just one night in a family room with our two grandsons. It was a spacious ground floor room and beautifully cool on one of the hottest days of the year. We had a double bed and the boys had a single bed each - so much better than them having to share a sofa bed. The bathroom appeared to be recently renovated with a shower over the bath. Yes, parts of the hotel are looking tired but the hospitality business has had a lean few years and many hotels are similarly in need of redecorating and new carpets. However, our room was clean and comfortable and the food served was delicious with the breakfasts being outstanding. No breakfast buffet here, which made a very pleasant change, but a menu with many freshly cooked options all served with a smile by Kyrie. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

We have had Sunday lunch here in the restaurant before and it was a nice experience. Still finding the gluten free options limited and I do object to paying for a Sunday lunch with items missing as they just don’t seem to be able to provide a gluten free Yorkshire pudding? It’s not difficult . However, this Sunday , having made a booking for four adults , I expected to be seated in the restaurant. My guests hadn’t been to this area before so I hoped for a nice experience. Apparently, they had a booking for 15 in the restaurant . We arrived, asked if we were with this group , on saying no, but we have a booking, we were shown to the dog friendly area in the bar , and to a table which was not laid for Sunday lunch . Cutlery was provided rather haphazardly, along with jug of water with glasses that I used to have at school 35 years ago! Well used, dishwasher marked, looking very sad! I have a dog and so am used to being sat in second class accommodation to eat, but not when I’ve made a booking, and do not have my dog with me. I would’ve liked to have been asked if I minded this? The meals were ok , nothing exceptional, at £18.75 per head, rather overpriced for this setting . We were bothered by flies throughout the meal . And, as mentioned in previous reviews, there are huge cobwebs hanging off the plants in the conservatory area which is the walkway to guest accommodation? Sorry to say, but something is not working at this venue , just something missing in consistency, maybe a woman’s touch is needed as attention to detail is sadly not there? Shame , as they’ve spent some money on some things .

What a cozy pub! We called in for a bite to eat mid afternoon to a roaring warm fire and welcoming staff. We came with our dogs so sat in the bar area near the cozy wood burning fire. The staff were friendly and accommodating which made us feel really welcome. We ordered the double burgers and flat iron steak, all 3 of us enjoyed and would eat what we ordered again. I asked if they had anything for the two dogs and they were kind enough to bring out a couple of sausages with our meals as well as a water bowl.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon while staying at tattershall lakes. The staff were all very warm and welcoming and made sure we were well looked after! We had never heard of the lager they had on offer but the 1 advised to us based on what we normally drank was very good! We both had starters and mains and really enjoyed all of the dishes! I had duck from the specials and my only negative would be that there wasn't a lot of duck, but what I did have tasted really good. We would definitely come back and recommend.

⭐️ We’ve just had the most amazing meal. Everything was cooked to perfection and given we had two courses the portion size was bang on. I read some of the previous feedback and it nearly convinced me to find somewhere else, but nothing is too much trouble here, we met the owners who are very obliging and couldn’t do enough for us, it felt like a real Lincolnshire country pub. We had the steak and it was great! We would have absolutely no hesitation in suggesting this to family or friends, or even you, reading this review! Thanks, The Leagate Inn ❤️, absolutely banging!

We visited The Leagate on September 18th for lunch and were very impressed with the historic building which included a pub with restaurant and a hotel, the very friendly and helpful staff and the delicious food! We had made a reservation and on arrival we were seated at a table next to the window where the sun was shining through! We ordered some drinks and perused the menu, Kyrie our waitress told us about the specials and two of us had the minted lamb burgers, the other two had the haddock & chips. None of us were disappointed as the food was excellent! Unfortunately we were all too full to partake in any dessert but would definitely return to the Leagate in the future!

Lovely food, delicious Sunday dinner. The garden with play area was perfect for our large group with children. Very helpful staff and well organised, especially considering our large group. Menus need updating on the website as they are their old ones.

I have some very bad news for you!! I knew that the Trop will be imploded on October 9, 2024 at 2:30 AM, very early in the morning. I heard that the implosion date changed twice, initially it was October 2 at 2 AM, then changed to October 8, also at 2 AM. Then it changed once again to the final date! Prior to the implosion, there will be fireworks and a drone show. On April 2, 2024 (right after April Fools' Day), the Trop closes its doors for good (not an April Fools joke) at noon, 2 days before its 67th anniversary. I know the Trop was a 67 year old hotel. The Trop is the third oldest casino on the Strip and also one of the few remaining casinos during the city's mob era. The Trop is my favorite hotel. Before the implosion, the demo crew took about 5 months to dismantle the hotel, leaving the towers' frames behind for implosion. The reason why the Trop is getting demolished because they wanted to build a new $1.5 billion Major League Baseball stadium that will be the new home of the Oakland Athletics. Construction of the stadium will begin sometime in April 2025, one year later after closure and it will be completed by sometime in 2028, just in time for the 2028 season. Before the construction, you will just see an empty lot where the Trop used to stand. If you like the Trop like me, you will think something is missing, "Hey, where did the Trop go? This doesn't feel right at all!" I have also heard that a new Bally's will be built along with the stadium. Why do they wanted to build another stadium, at this location by destroying the Trop, just why out of anything. They should build that stadium in an empty lot or something instead of destroying the Trop. We stayed at the Trop for 2 nights, right after Christmas Day in 2022, not knowing the hotel will get demolished 2 years later. Before we went to Vegas, we stayed in Los Angeles for 2 nights. We left LA at 11 AM, making our way to Vegas. It supposed to take about 4 hours to drive to Vegas from LA, but there was a very bad traffic jam, lasting into the night time. We got stuck in traffic for many many hours, before getting to Vegas. We even tried to bypass the traffic by exiting random roads and finding our way back to the freeway. At 11 PM, late at night, we have arrived in Vegas, checking in to the Trop very late! Our parking spot every time was in front of the bungalows. The doors that leads right into the bungalows are key carded, so we had entered through the front entrance the first night and check in. We stayed in the winter, so that the pool is closed. It was very sad that we did not experience the pool area at all, that this was our only time visiting and staying at the Trop. We are very lucky that we picked the Trop as the hotel we would stayed at. I am very sorry to see the Trop go! Farewell, Tropicana! I will miss you a lot!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I just wanted to see what they are building in the land where the Trop stood in the years coming! I really wanted to know!

Here for Sunday lunch with friends who visited. Food was good, staff friendly. But be warned your table is only yours for 90 minutes!! Very shortly after eating our meal we were reminded the table was needed and asked to leave. We quickly finished our wine as the pub was packed so didn't allow us to move elsewhere. I appreciate hospitality is suffering at the moment but not sure we will be back due to this restriction.

The Barge is located right in the centre of Grimsby, if you are here drinking then it's a must visit place. The barge itself was being painted when we got there which will end up looking good and giving it a nice refresh. Inside is nice, good jukebox and nice service. Beer is on thr pricey side but worth it - there are a lot if dives in this town so you get what you pay for. Ample outdoor seating which was nice in the sun. Would recommend.
