The Last Post, Beeston Wetherspoons in Broxtowe

Walked in for something to eat and walked out again! The last post is an apt name as that's what would be playing if you ate from this pub. The place was filthy with an entire table for 4 covered in empty glasses. Sauces smeared all over another table and food all over the floor. We managed to find a table not covered in empties or uneaten food and found a hair stuck to the inside of the menu. I'm not particularly fussy but it doesn't take a genius to know that hygiene isn't near the top of the pub's priorities. In order to avoid salmonella, we left and lived to moan another day. Don't even let your dog eat here.

I have just had lunch this afternoon. We have to wait for our meal for more than 45 minutes after ordering and had 5 minutes to eat our lunch before we get out of this restaurant. Very bad experience! I dont know whats wrong with this restaurant. The total time we had been there around 1 hour and half, with 5 minutes of eating just for simple meal time! I saw the other customer came after us but they had their meals before us at least 20- 30 minutes! Very bad experience! I would like to rate 0 star for the experience of we have meals today.

We come here often when seeing our son in Nottingham. Very nice food at a reasonable price. A lovely atmosphere here too.

Cheap food, not great quality, pizza undercooked and doughy, no chocolate sprinkles for cappuccino not the best wetherspoons I've been to.

Food arrived after 30mins and was cold on arrival. Will not be using again.

The Wetherspoons food never seem to really disappoint. However the burgers were dry and overcooked. The fish and chips were really good. The atmosphere was good too and spacious. Free refills go down well with many.

Went for a breakfast with my brother. We were there first in when it was empty. Breakfast was delicious. But then something weird happened. Other people came and sat on the tables right next to us when it was completely empty do theese people also park next to other cars in an empty car park?

Busy pub, similar to most Wetherspoons. The young girls that work there don't seem very happy tho, no service with a smile.

An OK wetherspoons beer OK good choice but let down by the staff they looked like they didn't want to be there try to engage in some sort of conversation got nothing but what you want to order's. A smile goes a long way

Beeston spoons is a place everyone should experience before they die. It's just a spoons tho tbh.

Good pub food, great service. Loud atmosphere but not too bad. Happy to go again if in the area. Great for what you expect of these kind of pubs.

Never enough staff behind bar takes a while when busy ..

You know what you are getting at JDW. Beer relatively cheaply, coffee refills, and toilets at the top of the stair. This one is relatively spacious and they have a good turnover of real ales.

I'm beginning to feel that it must be more than coincidence that whenever I visit this particular branch of Wetherspoons the staff are so unfriendly. Nottingham city centre 'spoons staff are far more welcoming. A simple 'hello what can I get you?' would be nice.

It's a Wetherspoons so you probably know what you're getting, this is definitely one of the better ones with a good range of ever-changing guest ales and friendly service. Like most of their pubs it's a large, open space and there's nothing special about this one.

Went to the last post for lunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. We ordered 3chicken tikka masala’s: 2 with chips and 1 with rice, plus cod and chips. The food arrived but only one was actually a tikka masala, the other 2 were jalfresi. The waitress did not advise us, we only realised once we tasted the curry and found it was rather hot! I had to return mine as I didn’t like it tho my granddaughter didn’t mind it. Just disappointing-by the time my masala finally arrived the others had all finished eating. It rather marred what was a special occasion, it wasn’t even busy in there so maybe the chef didn’t take his specs to work, I really don’t know but I was expecting better. No recompense offered either.

Food was great asked for specifics and they delivered and portion size was amazing as always for a weather spoons would go again .

Overall a really good experience. I love the chicken wings, cocktails and fish & chips here. 😁

The service from the girl is unacceptable very aggressive facial expression and rude towards customers

The service in this place is unbelievably bad the waitress we had was looking pissed at us and aggressive she dumpt the our plates on our table and left

If you like a good customer service I definitely do not recommend it . The waitress is so aggressive and keeps unprofessional behaviour , maybe is better to find better trained staff

Went to The Last Post for an early breakfast before making our way to East Mids airport for a flight out. Getting there for opening seemed to be the ideal opportunity to get a cracking breakfast and we certainly made the right decision. Every item was cooked nicely, the food was piping hot and sent us off on holiday quite happy and sated. It genuinely was very nice indeed.

Their Beer festival is on now and has some lovely beers on tap 🍻

Visited Friday night as a new port of call. Bar service ok, sat at a dirty table and cleared pots and glasses away so we could use, nobody clearing or cleaning tables. Used the App to try and order, NO Fish and Chips???? On a Friday?? Strewth! Ordered a Gourmet Sirloin Steak, what a joke! I wish now I had soled my shoes with it, dreadful, all fat, in fact it was fat trimmed with inedible meat! My friend’s Chicken Tikka was ok. Terrible experience, avoid! If you look at my 100+ reviews, you will see that I am very complementary to good venues and very rarely negative, but this outfit needs serious surgery. I will be writing to MD Tim Martin with my observations. (Table number 23. 7-45pm).

The top up Coffee ect might sound a bargain, but try getting one..the machine's are always out of milk or chocolate,not once have I been able to have a top up due to poor service.

Went for breakfast with my mum and son, breakfast was awful! Ordered 3 traditional breakfasts, they came out luke warm, egg was well overcooked, beans were dry, the other breakfast had egg shel under the egg, it was genuinely awful, left feeling we had absolutely wasted our money & time and was left feeling pretty off for the rest of the day! So disappointing... Only plus is I do like the sausage... wish I'd taken more pictures

Uncooked eggs, after asking them to be proper cooked and black pudding was like eating brick it was that hard. Wouldn't trust eating here again.

Problems with kitchen on our last visit. Big choice of ales. Always busy.

I have never really been a weatherspoon person, as when we do go out for a drink we normally will go to small places so we can talk and listen to music. However, I had the most brilliant time on Saturday. The atmosphere was great, the service was great, and it is so cheap. We ordered some snacking food, but due to them being shorted staff the menu was limited which wasn't great, but totally understand. We have been here for breakfast before, as the do do a wonderful breakfast. I really did not want to leave on Saturday - but had to go to our works Christmas do. I could have stayed all night here as it was really really good.

Food was ok and the staff was great, however having two tables numbered 59 does not help our food and drink being delayed.

It's 'Spoons. You know what it is and you know what you get. Toilets upstairs, long term residents on favourite chairs, all the standard fittings and affairs. And not as cheap as it once was.

Steak over cooked and full of grizel. mash was overheated.

Quiet Tuesday night but nice place and quick service

Standard 'spoons with perhaps less than normal atmosphere and decor. Felt more sparse than most spoons and a little tired. Food was average, and as always very good value for money. Nothing special but still an acceptable place to eat and drink.

Worse weatherspoons ? .. worse pub I have ever been in and I’ve been in a few . Tables filthy . The most rudest staff I have ever met ! .. used to go a lot but after the last time , told my partner we will never go again . The barmaid was very rude , and when pulled up in her behaviour then glared at me for the 2 hours I was there . All I can say is desperate for staff used to be a lovely pub .

Spoons needs to send a mystery shopper and do something urgently! I do not know who would ever give this place 5 stars. I have been here on several occasions and it has always been shocking. The first few times I gave them the benefit of the doubt but after a 7 month break I thought perhaps it was under new management and had improved. It hadn't. Staff are rude and slow and cannot carry more than two plates at a time. Cannot be bothered with simple tasks like wiping down tables or fetching cutlery. Nothing feels clean in this place and i always feel like im going to catch something. The food takes forever to come and you will wish you had eaten anywhere else but here. So that is my advice to do just that. I will never eat here again until I hear it is under new management and the reviews improve.

I had the cod meal. A staff member walked over to see how the meal was. I said that the fish didn't taste very nice. She retorted that it was fresh and walked off! Disgusting way to treat a customer. I had two relatives with me who had different meals, one of whom left hers and the other said not as good as previously. Got new staff or what? Change the attitude and the quality or lose customers. Also hot chocolate was like water. Doesn't anyone service the machines?

Affordable dining options: Due to the low prices, I am willing to lower my expectations on the food quality, so I am satisfied every time. Unlimited refills on hot drinks are also a great attraction, as I can invite friends over on weekdays and enjoy a leisurely gathering. At night, it also functions as a bar, and the beer prices are cheap, making it a great happy hour spot.

It's a Wetherspoons nothing more. Not a bad spoons but not the best locally either. Therefore an average rating for an average pub.

Service always great in this wetherspoons. Never a long wait for drinks, food always good and atmosphere great. Toilets clean and staff always visibly clearing/ cleaning tables to make comfortable for the next guests. An easy going spoons pub. Always make a point of coming.

Nice pub quick service from friendly staff

We stopped by today for a drink in the beer garden. I've never been asked to leave a pub before especially a wetherspooons one. The problem was I wrongly thought sitting in the beer garden with my dog would be absolutely fine as it is in 99% of pubs. Now my dog is clean, well behaved and quiet (which is more than I can say about some humans) but this was too much for the staff and they asked me to leave. So I collected my things together and left. Anyway I won't be going back to a pub that has a backwards policy of not welcoming well behaved dogs in the beer garden.

We use this place maybe 4 or 5 times a week. Spend a lot of money there. Good value for what you get and 90% of the staff are great. And that's the issue today. Enter the large, ponytail haired lady with glasses and looks like she's been chewing wasps all night. I assume her role entails customer service and satisfaction but I assumed wrong and to be honest should have known better having observed her on numerous occasions. We took our two dogs into the beer garden which was a third occupied and by the way had no signs to say no dogs in that area. We had come through the side gate and apparently the main door has a 'only guide dogs allowed' so wouldn't have seen it. We walked into the area to be greeted by the said member of staff who simply barked (pardon the pun) very loudly for the whole area to here as if loving the opportunity to put a paying customer in their place, 'NO DOGS IN THE AREA!!!!'. And then simply walked away with no intention of listening to anything else I said. How has this rude person, supposedly a supervisor too!!!! kept a job. The situation was clarified and apparently it appears The Last Post is one of the few pubs that bans dogs from the beer garden in Beeston. Sad and outdated policy. Will I go again? Yes. But I'll be highlighting any dogs in that area I see and expecting the same treatment, or maybe Weatherspoons come in line with competitors.

Cheap drinks as expected but tables are usually sticky and full of plates and glasses and take a while to be cleared. Food is ok. Some staff are friendly, others not so much. Especially the one who throws bottles into the bottle cart from quite a distance, so they crash as loud as possible, this is done on purpose as it’s every time and never that busy that she can’t just walk and place it. No atmosphere as no music/tv which is expected, always go as a stop gap before going elsewhere.

Food was very poor, one had burger which was burnt no relish and about 8 chips, 3 of us had chicken strips which states with mayo,there was one completely with no mayo, and just a dot of mayo on the other two and a mean a dot not even as big as a 1p piece when asked if there was any more mayo was given a snapped back answer of no, and we had probably 6/7 chips there was not hello from the server and our plates was thrown down in front of us will never go again and will tell people not to go

Had a lovely plate of fish, chips and mushy peas. It came with an alcoholic drink of my choice, just over a tenner. The food was delicious. More than excellent value for money.

Always good. Consistent quality food and drink. Usual low prices for this chain. Great staff and good beer selection. Short walk to the trams and buses. A lot quieter and orderly than many of the pubs in this chain.

Well located near Beeston town center. Friendly staff and good value drinks on promotions! Plenty of seating inside and outdoor at the back garden area! Very popular with the locals

Asked for poached egg on toast as advertised on the menu told they only had scrambled or fried egg. I then asked why as you just put an egg in boiling water and they obviously had the eggs and told again we don’t have poached eggs - no explanation as to why by the bar person or why it was on the menu. Service with a grimace is the usual here from one bar woman in particular although the men are usually more pleasant and courteous, only go in for the coffee refills usually. There are a whole lot of other Wetherspoons with much better service and food so this is definitely not a slight on all Wetherspoons, but service is definitely the worst I’ve ever had here. ( I have had food here before but generally don’t as it’s often not hot and slapped in front of you )

Just been in for something to eat I had a simple jacket and cheese with a salad well I wouldn't have given the lettice to a rabbit never mind a person looked like it had been sat next to a oven for a week it was soft and bad cheese was awefull no way was it chedder. Partner had the buttermilk chicken burger that was no better .No one came round to see if everything was OK with our meals so I presume they know what there sending out .Won't be eating in this pub again . Terrible.

Ever been to Spoons on the 90s? Like stepping back in time this place. But that said it is one of the nicer ones!

Typical service in a spoons, slow but very polite staff. was full obviously the pull of value priced drink, didn't eat but food prices have gone up quite a lot.

Very rude staff member (Eve) she struts around shaking her hair all over the place even whilst carrying food she slams the plates down agressivly never smiles has no customer care skills and seems very inconfident about her work this isant on 1 occassion its how she goes about all the time.. so many people have stopped going to the last post due to her being very rude and unpleasant really cannot understand how she is still employed there... She actually frightens people

Nice friendly staff better than most 'Spoons.

We visited the restaurant and enjoyed a large breakfast set together. The price was fantastic for sharing, and we recommend opting for the drinks with unlimited refills. They have a coffee dispenser offering a variety of coffee choices. Next time, we'd love to sample their beer selection, which looked quite enticing. Fun fact: the place used to be a post office, so there's some interesting history to learn while you're there.
