Good pub for the sport. Good selection of beers, typical greene king pub menu and friendly staff. Close to town and good car parking. Large beer garden at the front. Bar area has a few booths too for a more private experience. Nothing not to like so well recommended. Never eaten here

Looks a little shabby from the outside. Large beer garden at the front. Usual tap beers and a nice selection of real ales available. Staff were friendly and polite. Beer was exceptional. Enjoyed my visit.

Here from Oz. Had a local? beer, "Scrimmage" I think. Went down very nicely. Watched Arsenal smack R.M so a good night in a very welcoming place. Will be back.

Absolutely love this place- friendliest and best bar staff, and best pub food in the area. Not only the only place to watch live sports, but also a lovely friendly environment for family lunches and sunny days outside. We spent Gold Cup day here again as we do every year,and the atmosphere was amazing! Lots of fun, a great friendly crowd and superb food. It is also one of the only pubs I would go to by myself as a female and always feel safe.

Had a great day out at the lansdown. The staff went above and beyond for me and the family. Can’t wait to go back.

Wow! What a race day! We booked a table for the gold cup, the Lansdown excelled themselves, we had a heated hut, excellent food and friendly staff! For any event, would highly recommend and will be booking again! Many thanks, hospitality was 👌🏻

Had the flat iron steak, looked a but dry but was actually very nice, very tasty ans very tender.

Don't ask for hot drink, dinner time, no milk, EVEN offered to fetch a pint from the garage AND PAY FOR IT MYSELF! THIS WAS REJECTED! obviously not needing the custom.

We hired the function room for our boy’s first birthday and my gosh The Lansdown did not disappoint! Communication was extremely smooth, my requests were heard and it made the party go extremely well and stress free! They even had this gold wall as part of it. Bonus! We went for the silver buffet, but if the buffet we had was silver I can’t wait to see the gold and platinum buffets! It was outstanding, everyone in our party loved it and there was enough options and enough food to feed our family and friends twice if not three times🤣 I 100% recommend The Lansdown if you’re looking for a function room. They really take care of you and the room is just perfect. I’ve since been and had one of their roast dinners too, can’t knock it! All in all the pub seems lovely, the staff are friendly, foods delicious. I don’t know what more you could ask for personally🤷🏻‍♀️

What a lovely Sunday evening. We only live down the road but kind of forget about the Landsdown. Not anymore! It’s well priced, dog friendly (with lots of treats on the bar 🐶) and friendly. Grace was lovely and both of the girls were happy and cheery, a rarely these days, especially on a cold Sunday night in February. We will really support The Landsdown from now on, it deserves it.

The building needs a face lift, quite run down and the ladies smelt bad. Otherwise everything else was fine. Very good food and a well stocked bar.

Great place to come to relax after work and on my way home. Staff are really friendly and the Manager is around a lot and gets on well with all the customers. Many pubs you don’t even see the Manager It’s a sports bar brand of Greene King so Sports is always available to watch and there are some great small plate meals and sharers to keep you going Great place I’m in most weekdays now!!!

How can you have a pub that stops serving food at 8pm, without informing customers until you try and order?! Never known anything like it, absolutely mental 😂😂, there were lots of very hungry and disappointed people in there tonight, not sure that’s good for business!

Popped in for nibbles & a beer and was pleasant surprised by the selection and quality of their small plates, 3 for £15 is pretty reasonable these days.

We popped in shortly before Christmas 2024. The main reason was to watch the football as the pub has plenty of screens and we've watched the rugby and football here before, plus the atmosphere isn't too bad. The main bar area was pretty full and there were no free tables. As we wanted to eat that meant that we couldn't sit there, so we moved through to the area at the side, a good sized area with 12 other people who were, like us, waiting for the game to start. So we took a table in this area and ordered our food at the bar. It then became apparent that another game was being shown in this area, so we asked 10 of the other twelve people which game they wanted to watch, so as not to be rude; no one wanted the game that was being shown, so we went and asked at the bar if the channel could be changed. Initially we were told yes, so everyone was happy. To clarify the remaining two people were having a meal and weren't interested in watching the game, so job done. Everyone was happy. After ten minutes the channel hadn't been changed so we went and asked again, this time the guy said no, as he knew that there was someone who wanted to watch the game that was on (one person, four screens?????) - well this wasn't the case, as we'd spoken to everyone! The barman made it clear that he wasn't changing the channel. So all twelve of us left this area of the pub and stood in the bar area, or at least we did until our food arrived some twenty or so minutes later. When we sat down and ate our food there was now only one other person in the area which we'd all vacated, a lady who had been stood at the bar talking to the barman who'd told us that he wouldn't change the channel?!?! Umm. So that wasn't great. Like us the other twelve customers weren't impressed at all. Anyway, now to our food. I had the Christmas Turkey dinner, it was OK at best. The roast potatoes weren't great at all, they were really dry and barely roasted. The carrots were 'mushy', and the sprouts weren't too far behind plus the turkey was dry and the sausage, in the pigs-in-blanket wasnt well cooked. For what it was £15.95 was a lot of money. My son had the festive Christmas burger with a portion of fries and a solitary onion ring! One of the saddest things you'll see this Christmas, sat on the plate, all alone, like it had been taken away from the rest of its family 🥲. The burger wasn't very tasty, it wasn't well seasoned at all, not very tasty or flavoursome and the sauce, which was cranberry, didn't add to the experience. So our experience, including the meal, at The Lansdown wasn't great. We certainly won't be rushing back any day soon. The decor and furnishings are also tired, there were big chunks of plaster missing in the corridor that leads to the toilets. The bar does offer a good range of beers, including low alcohol and alcohol free beers, lagers and ciders. Proper pub, great for sport! 🍺🎯

Stopped in for lunch. Their daily lunch menu is a comfortable mix of pub food and food to match a mre eclectic taste. The staff were great, friendly and attenttive. Was here for an hour and will definitely go back.

Unfortunately terrible food. Christmas dinner was barely edible..luke warm, horribly dry, tasted like a terrible frozen then microwaved roast dinner..only able to afford treats like going out for dinner because of blue light discount ❤️ was a really disappointing meal that spoilt the treat.

Lovely staff particularly Grace such a lovely and diligent lady. Food was amazing especially whilst watching the sport. Definitely will visit again strongly recommend.

Start with the only negative to end with the positives. The only issue I had when visiting The Lansdown was the toilet. The cubicle in the male toilet does not have a working lock, other than that, the toilets are your standard pub toilets. Visited for the first time today, to watch the football and have a meal with a good friend. Food was fantastic, I would HIGHLY recommend the Korean BBQ chicken wing sharer and the battered halloumi and pulled beef croquet small plates, followed by the sticky toffee pudding! Service was fantastic, bar staff always smiling and someone I assume to be the manager/landlord present and interested in the customers. Plenty of screens to watch the sports on, two games shown tonight and pub ‘split’ in two to facilitate both matches, but didn’t feel divided. Outdoor area with a good amount of heaters to keep you warm when outside smoking. Also noticed wheelchair lift to aid wheelchair accessibility due to entrance being lower than pavement. All in all, lovely place to eat, drink watch your favourite sport and socialise.

Great place to stop for a bite to eat or even just a drink. Large selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, all reasonably priced too! Food has always been super and menu has a nice variety. Lovely garden for these warm summer evenings, staff are all fab, polite, attentive and friendly. Best of all while pub is dog friendly and staff are super happy to welcome dogs ☺️ will be back! Everything you could ask for at this place! 5 ⭐️

Nice and tidy pub to visit not far from train station. Shows all sports and staff are really accommodating, menu has definitely improved with more gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options available. Friendly atmosphere and drinks are fair priced. Will be back for future football matches

Amazing pub great atmosphere and lovely food

The pub is very important for Cheltonians because of the location, excellent garden & sports bar feel however it needs a fair bit of investment to bring a shine to the place. It is very tired. Guinness & Gin were fairly priced and very nice too.

This is a green king pub, but it has a higher standard with better food than the other Green King pubs I've been to. We had a great meal, and the service was great. The garden is large with plenty of seating. We only gave it a 4 because the parking lot is very tiny and the garden is next to a very busy street so it's noisy. FYI, they give 15% for our hard-working blue light members. 😀

Shame, has the potential to be a buzzing busy pub but unfortunately needs some direction . Has lift for wheelchairs etc to be able to get to the bar and a good selection of ciders.

I was in Cheltenham visiting friends for the day and we went To the lansdown for lunch. I was very pleasantly surprised with the amount of gluten free options available. The food was very nice, bar staff were very helpful. Would visit again. Another great experience today at the Lansdown

This is my second review for the Lansdown, as I wanted to share how well managed it has been throughout the recent Euro tournament. The whole pub was full to capacity inside and out, with a lively and excited crowd. The manager and staff team should be congratulated on the superb way in which they managed to create an amazing atmosphere, which also felt safe and welcoming at all times. There was an inevitable and unavoidable wait for drinks but they had extra staff brought in, and each of them was friendly and smiling despite the pressure. I cannot speak highly enough of them all. Fantastic team. Thank you so much, and we will see you very soon x

Fab place to eat and watch your favourite sport

The food menu is very bland, nice pie and mash however.

This was out first visit to a Greene King pub and will be our last. Ordered half chicken roast dinner for two, no stuffing, pink chicken, large plate filled with a Yorkshire and two pots of gravy. Chicken pale and tasteless, roast potatoes pale and greasy, undercooked carrots and a measly portion of cabbage. On offering feedback offered free drink but refused, a bad meal is a bad meal cannoned bought off with a free drink.

Went to watch the football with friends in the huge garden! Ordered food and the drinks and food arrived very quick! Great atmosphere!

Garbage. Toilets are a bombsite and the prices are ridiculously high. Wait staff carry a permanent long face and seem to take umbrage with any request to be served. Only go there under durress..

What can I say about the Lansdown? Food great, service great, staff great. No matter where I go in Cheltenham I always end up here at some point, it's my go to place. Although it's a sports pub it's a very diverse establishment with a wide range of clientele. I do enjoy a pint while watching the sport but equally visit with family or my partner for a quiet drink. They also make a real effort during major sporting events (racing or big tournaments). I can only say, keep doing what you're all doing and thank you 👍

The Lansdown is cheltenhams hidden gem. Loads of parking, good food and lots of sport to watch if that is your thing. We were welcomed by super helpful staff which made the experience a delight. Great pub, great atmosphere and great staff. Win win win !

Excellent Sunday lunch, and service

The service was good, but the place is quite dirty. The food was alright but did take a long time to arrive. A lot of menu items were also not available.

Went here for a full English breakfast yesterday What a disappointment The scrambled eggs was barely a table spoons worth The sausage was hard as if it had been cooked twice The toast was only toasted one side and the butter was a cheap margarine And to top that off we ordered 3 breakfasts but only two were delivered to our table and we had to wait 15 minutes for the other one to arrive Never going there again

Went in with my brother as a treat for him he is 18 has SN I purchased the Groupon deal. I was disappointed as they told me they don’t accept it even though when I purchased it I looked on the website and it said they accept it for here. I paid out of my pocket which is fine but don’t advertise it when they don’t give it we had a lovely time and good food

Excellent service, wonderful staff who will adjust your drink the way you like it if you ask. Incredible spirit choice...also colour coordinated which is lush and needed because they have soooooo much choice. Heaters that work for those who smoke or just want to outside in the cold and you won't be cold, trust me. Plenty of places to choose to either socialise or hide away. Genuinely could not recommend this venue more highly, ticks all my boxes. Best staff I've had the pleasure of dealing with.
