I was thoroughly impressed with the Cheltenham store. Every member of staff who served us or helped us was brilliant; they found shoes that were the right size and offered to store items behind the till so we didn’t have to carry them whilst browsing. The place to eat cafe was brilliant, especially for babies. They had a great selection of food and the cafe itself, from tables to floor was spotless. Again, the staff were outstanding; nothing seemed too much of a problem.There was a good selection of food for babies as well as high chairs with toys to keep them entertained. The toilets were clean and there was a really well thought out changing room/feeding room for parents. It is the best shop/cafe we have been to with our baby which made the experience so much easier. I would highly recommend your store to everyone and we will be back!

I’m honestly annoyed because my day has been ruined, I spent time waiting to exchange my money just to learn the bureau of exchange only exchanges pounds from british currency to foreign currency and doesn’t allow you to change your money back which is terrible for someone like me who has social anxiety especially when they get British money given to them everyday yet refuse to allow it to be changed back

Visited the store today and went to the first floor. While looking at the mobile phones not one member of staff approached and asked if I needed any help. I was there for quite some time looking and trying out a certain model of phone. I wanted more info than was on the display screen. As nobody approached me I decided to take my custom elsewhere. I don’t think I will ever go into this store and look again neither to purchase anything. Thanks to all the helpful staff and customer service.

Cafe staff were rude, young guy at the till gave the impression it was a nuisance to serve you. The person from the kitchen stood by the sandwich counter with a face like a wet fish. I nearly walked out as this was very off putting. The only person doing any work was a young lady at the coffee machine and another older guy clearing tables. This was about 2:15 and place was fairly quiet I won’t return and won’t recommend to anyone else

Visited John Lewis no less than 7 times from just before Christmas until a couple of days ago trying to speak with someone about the electric milk frother they sold us less than a year ago and which has been really disappointing. We just wanted to try and buy one that actually works properly. Not once did we find anyone assisting in that department and the one person we did speak with "didnt know enough about frothers to be of any help". They couldn't find anyone to help us either. Will buy on line from another company that actually wants our business. Very disappointed.

I visited here for a personal stylist appointment, and although I can’t remember the stylist’s name, she was absolutely lovely and made me feel very comfortable. She listened carefully to my needs and preferences, and I ended up leaving with outfits that I was really happy with. There was no pressure to buy anything, which I appreciated—it was more about getting great pairing ideas and styling tips. Overall, a fantastic experience for a free personal stylist appointment! Plus, I was treated to a free bottle of orange juice on a super hot day, which was a lovely touch.

Was so excited to visit and use my voucher I had been gifted .Arrived early so not too many people about over to the shoes and boots . Asked assistant for another size which she seemed reluctant to get . Gave up in the end and tried a dress on instead. Beautiful phase eight dress . The ladies changing rooms were filthy . Dust hairs all over the floors . Yes I know it's the Xmas run up but very off putting when retail is struggling because of online shopping maybe a little more attention to detail is needed . Customer service seems lost ...

I’ve never felt so invisible, I waited 40 minutes to be spoken to, while people who came after me were served again and again. I had lost my makeup on the way to Cheltenham and needed help getting ready for an event that night, I’d given up on my full glam, all I wanted was some concealer and mascara, I was happy to pay, nobody seemed to want to help, someone colour matched me, even though I had stated that I needed an express service or to pay for a service then told me they didn’t have concealer in my shade and couldn’t even sit me down at the 3 empty makeup stands I spotted, they even mentioned that we can stand off the side and for me to have a side to hold onto, I’m on crutches, I’d spent an hour standing by that point, walking around trying to get help. Bobby brown was the only of 5 stands I asked for “some concealer and mascara” and was quoted £55 and an hour wait. I left empty handed and very upset. I went to boots and I was seated in 3 minutes and even given tissue as I was crying as I arrived. They helped me, not John Lewis. Boots went above and beyond and gave me practically a full makeover. I bought every product they used. I know that Saturday was very busy, I didn’t expect to be so thoroughly ignored.

There's a man who wears a suit. Beard and bald. I think he's a manager, bur quite rude and lacks social skills. Bought an iPhone, asked what the warranty is. 4 members of staff, no one knew. In the end I was given a leaflet which was to take out insurance on the phone. Calamity. Weak. Poor. What's happened to john lewis? Train your staff and dont give senior roles to staff who have poor social abilities.

I came back to the store the same day to return some airpods i bought earlier in the day that after trying i disliked. Upon mentioning it to one staff member before i knew it 6 or 7 came over and started making various comments about the fact the seal was obviously broken or that i had quite a few headphones already on the bluetooth list on my phone. Its none of your business how many pairs of headphones ive owned in my lifetime. The whole atmosphere in this store is bizarre and uncomfortable & you should know better than to treat a customer asking for a refund as instantly suspicious, 7 members of staff & management giving me some sort of grilling & ridicule wasn't on tbh

A favourite retail environment. Modern retail establishments can often be bland and soulless in their attempt to be ‘all about the brand’…. not in this case though! JLP’s designers have created a sophisticated, contemporary space that works brilliantly well to disguise the scale of premises, the creation of different discrete zones maintains interest as you progress through the store (just like it used to be in the days of large department stores but somehow with a modern twist.). The natural daylight in the centre of the retail area brightens the space. This store covers all your needs for ladies/gents/children’s clothing, homewares, luggage, electrical and white goods, decorative lifestyle, home furnishings, beauty products, stationery and two places to eat. Highly recommended.

Jasper From the Cheltenham store called me as I requested a call back. He introduced himself, provided reasons for the call, he had informed me that the products have been arranged. I had asked Jasper to add another product which he went and searched for in store given there was only 2 left. He promptly called back to confirm the order. He also reserved an item at another store for me to collect at my request. Such a great example of a fantastic customer service experience. Went for a coffee & cake at around 12:45. Cafe not busy at all but service for hot drinks was poor. The lady serving was slow & seemed inefficient although she was extremely polite. Goodness how she copes during busy periods as it took ages to make my coffee. After a long wait, she realised she'd made me a latte instead of a cappuccino! There was a male member of staff just hovering around the cakes doing nothing & another staff member (female) faffing around with saucers. Why either of these couldn't have stepped in to help is a mystery. I didn't have the feeling that any of them were on the ball. Heaven help customers during busy periods, they'll have a very long wait.

We bought a TV on 24 Dec that was not properly installed. Getting this done involved 2 visits. It then turned out that there was pixilation and that it didn't synchronise sound and vision. We have had 2 further visits. Synchronisation is still not right. Attempts to get John Lewis to deal with it simply result in my being referred back to technical support which is the bit of the organisation that has failed so far. As recently as a few days ago I got yet another stock email again moving me from pillar to post. This told me that technical support wanted to ring. When I did of course they didn't even recognise the ref no and I was expected to start again from the beginning. How do I get some customer service.?

The place to eat Cafes are always difficult the place is a tip Dirty tables of the 12 tables around me 5 are still loaded with crockery It took me a long time to find a clean table The lady on the cakes was very stretched and so helpful despite being under pressure The offer 2 prices of cake and Prosecco no Prosecco out of stock the girl on the till was having to leave the till to fulfill requests to get napkins I spoke to the customers in front of me and I said do you think this is organised chaos as we were waiting to pay they agreed The lady on the drinks was lovely and working on her own of those that were working hard which was 3 I saw as many staff walking or fiddling about doing nothing This is store of the year what is the last store of the year like These people need some help please

We bought some coffees and a cake from John Lewis' cafe called The Place to Eat☕️ It was our first time ordering from here and we thought the atmosphere was so lovely and wholesome. Our coffees were a bit bitter and the cups were quite small but everyone has different preferences, so we didn't mind :) However the pumpkin spice cake was absolutely delish! Also the staff were very nice, the service was quick too. Overall we had a great experience❤️

Try to return unwanted gifts from John Lewis. They were branded John Lewis products.I did not have a recipt of proof of purchase as it was a gift. The products were sealed and unopened. I was told they were not able to even give a credit note. It was a computer said no moment! Not great customer service for a company which prides itself on its service. No understanding or flexibility.

I went Christmas shopping and one of the things I wanted to get was perfume for my wife. So I went into John Lewis in Cheltenham. All I wanted was “just” perfume with the EXPECTATION of potentially buying the perfume, pay and go like other shops. Not this time. I came across Julianna. For something which is normally a mundane transaction turned into a buying EXPERIENCE. To use the tired worn out phrase “BEYOND EXPECTATIONS” would not be fair to Julianna. This was TRULY beyond expectations. She was very friendly, approachable while maintaining full professionalism. She packed the perfume in a Dior bag and made it look fantastic and presentable rather than just drop it in. I asked her where the men’s fragrances are so I can tell my wife what I want to get and without asking, she gave me some free samples to try out. Customer service like this is rare in todays retail industry and I certainly commend her. What an asset Julianna is to your company!

Went for Coffee on Sunday at JL Cheltenham. Store closes at 4.30 and advertised closing time of Coffee shops was 4.00pm. Went to both Coffee shops in the store at 3.10 to be told they were now closed. Customers sat in the coffee shops still at 4.10 when I passed again. Shocking service. I called the store number to let them management team know that this was not really the kind of service JL were known for. However you can only get through to an automated service that then takes you to a call centre in South Africa who can not put you through and only offer a call back after they have contacted the store. Really! This shows now concern for genuine feed back and is so inefficient . JL you have lost the plot and a loyal customer.

Chaotic layout makes finding anything virtually impossible. No prices on or anywhere near many of the items, some with misleading labels that are for a different product. Limited staff who mainly seemed to have to go and ask someone else before they could answer my query. I had to go to 3 different areas of the store, before I found the Christmas gift tags, bizarrely they were nowhere near the Christmas shop. Solihull store has always been better run than Cheltenham, I won’t be going back to the Cheltenham store.

We’ve been planning a family for a long time and would always have a look at the baby gear at John Lewis in particular the buggies. Well it finally happened and we’re expecting twins! Tried to phone the store to see if they had the double buggy we needed, the lady on the phone was not familiar with the brand and we were not able to talk to anybody on the shop floor, we were told that no they did not have this buggy. Fast forward a few weeks later and we found ourselves in John Lewis looking at baby things and there it was, the very same brand and model of buggy we had previously phoned about (we were told it had always been there), at this point, we had already placed an order for the buggy With mamas and papas. It amazes me how bad the customer service has got at Jhon Lewis, this would have been an easy couple of grand for them. We don’t bother with them anymore as there’s no difference between them and other local shops. I really hope they can sort themselves out.

Had a great experience using the personal styling service. My stylist (Rosie) had everything ready for me to try on, it was much less overwhelming than wandering about the store. She was so responsive to what I liked/didn't like and we found me an outfit very quickly. I really enjoyed trying a few things on that I wouldn’t usually have picked out. The changing room was large, clean and really comfortable. Just a great experience, I can’t wait to come back!

Elliott the Security Officer escalated a conversation into a conflict with his Gangster attitude towards customers. Elliott will be hearing from my Solicitor first thing in the morning. Do not attempt to return anything to John Lewis Cheltenham especially if you’re not White.

Completely fed up with the service at JLP Cheltenham, mainly the baby department but also make-up. I’m 8 months pregnant & waited a good 15/20mins today with a question about car seats. There was 1 assistant listening to another lady this whole time, who was clearly just browsing and chatting with her mother. At no point did she acknowledge me or say she’d be there in a minute. I interrupted in the end to see if there was anyone else, because I couldn’t stand for much longer. She then said she’d get someone but still no one came so I had to drag the equipment off the top shelf to work it out myself. I was planning on spending the best part of £500 but was so physically uncomfortable I had to leave. Now at home I’m fairly sure I have a pulled stomach muscle from hauling stuff around. Mentioned to guy on main check out, wasn’t fussed. This is not the first time and even when you do get someone the level of knowledge is relatively poor in comparison to other stores (the guy in the High Wycombe store for example is fantastic but sadly we don’t live near anymore).

Disappointed to see Nesspresso had gone , wanted to buy capsules , and drop off recycling , your staff at till not happy to take my recycling !!!! And quite dismissive . Not received anything on my email from you to say they were going. Staff in perfumery were aroubd chatting when I needed assistance had to go find someone to serve ! Not good . Clarins staff very good but hadn’t got enough of the products I needed in stock . Used my afternoon tea voucher in hufkins restaurant, staff not brilliant . Not a great experience in Cheltenham over the weekend m sorry to say 😰

One of the smaller jlp stores but more than enough choice. If not in stock then fast delivery to home. Tech support brilliant. A reasonable charge for setting up a mobile phone. Saves hours of messing about. Soup always good in the cafe. Well done.

John Lewis Curtains & Blinds Fitting service should be avoided, after 8 weeks still waiting, I email them, get a reply, we are looking into it, I reply is that it, then emails are replied with "out of office away on leave". 3 visits to the store, finally get an appointment to fit, cancelled with 48 hours' notice, I am told fitter is sick ?. Next appointment 2 weeks, if you speak with them on the telephone, there staff do not seem to understand you are annoyed and put the phone down, unless you calm down and be very nice, OVERALL BEST AVOIDED.

I love shopping in John Lewis.I work in town so find it convenient now to park in John lewis car park.However, my first day parking was lovely.......until I returned at 6pm and didnt know where to get back into the car park as the store was closed.I looked around Albion St for the door and 2 members of John Lewis staff said you cant go in here its for staff I replied I know it is, I just want to find the stairs to the car park.They said you'll have to walk up the ramp....this was not helpful at all and extremely dangerous. So I waited and another member of staff came out and he was so kind and helpful and showed me the scanner for my phone qr code and the door to the stairs. Can I suggest you let your staff know about the access points for customers as other people may have the same predicament I had . Many thanks.

My husband and I called into John Lewis, Cheltenham, this morning as we were having trouble with a sound bar we purchased from them in 2022. Martin from the Audio Department was excellent in explaining what the trouble was and said he would ‘phone us later to see if we had managed to correct it. True to his word Martin ‘phoned us and from his expert instructions we sorted the problem out. Thank you Martin for all your help.

Absolute garbage purchase for which there was no meaningful apology. Purchased a roller blind which I was suspicious of when I went to use as one end had been sellotaped. Roller mechanisms missing. went back to store and obtained mechanisms only to then find the blind had been cut to a shorter width - totally 2nd hand. I used to respect the Lewis brand but not anymore. 1 star is the lowest possible !! Can whoever wrote to me from Lewis' please get in touch again as now found receipt🙄!!

Good pub for the sport. Good selection of beers, typical greene king pub menu and friendly staff. Close to town and good car parking. Large beer garden at the front. Bar area has a few booths too for a more private experience. Nothing not to like so well recommended. Never eaten here
