Spectre Cheltenham in Cheltenham

We just stopped in for a couple of drinks before dinner. Friendly new bartender and a clean, spacious bar!

Great pub friendly staff good lagers and ales and ciders and a good pub for sports

Walked past many times, but thought I'd give it a try. First impression was of people at a table vaping. (Is that legal?). Stood at the bar with several other people waiting to order a drink, but no one ever appeared, so we left. Oh and they no longer do food, as others have said and their website shows drinks only. I can't see it staying open for much longer.

What an absolutely brilliant place. The new managers are so friendly and welcoming and nothing is to.much trouble. The whole place is really clean too

Expensive beers...Absolutely horrendous frozen chicken , frozen chips and frozen peas for the pleasure of @£15... So bad.. avoid

The steak was rubbery and tasteless..never eating there again

Good place for quiet beer, Rahal & Sam were very nice and attentive.

Enjoyed the spectre very much, came in for a couple lunch time beers and had excellent service from James behind the bar!

This is without doubt my fav sports bar. Came to Rahal Man and felt so connected with his vibes. Will gladly return more often!

Popped in for lunch for the first time today. Definitely worth doing. A big menu to choose from. Had a lasagne, great value for money served hot and tasted great. Have found my new spot to eat when in town!

I want to give spectre 5 stars but can't because last time me and friends were there, there were rough people outside scrounging stuff like cigarettes from friends of mine, then later on in the evening those scroungers ended up turning on us and were trying to cause a fight. And the staff clearly knew what was going on, and they seemed to let it just carry on 😕

Visited Friday night for a few drinky-poos, loved the atmosphere and DJ, had some stunning cocktails from the ever attentive James who gave 5 star service all night! Loved it would come again.

This was my first time in The Spectre but my friend has been in many times before. We went there for lunch and the bar staff were very friendly. The food we ordered arrived at our table a short time after ordering and both our meals arrived nice and hot. We both ordered puddings with our main meals and there was just the right amount of time between our main meals and puddings being brought to us. The toilets were nice and clean as was the main bar and seating area and we will definitely be going back again.

Came in tonight to watch the Chelsea game (shocking result #lampardout) Had a great time and was served by a lovely young man named James, excellent service from him in particular and made my first visit a good one, much appreciated young man.

I came in a few weeks ago for a few drinks and some food, I was served by the very helpful James, and our delicious pub grub was cooked by Rahal. I had a great time playing pool as well! Would recommend

Great sports bar, with good beer and food. Bar staff are very friendly. Children welcome too. And in todays economical climate, the bonus is the prices are great too. We popped in with our grandchildren for some food, before a show at the theatre.

We’ve been going to the Spectre for a few years now. The new menu is so much better than in the past Cannot fault the service although I would like to see the staff more professionally dressed ( eg wearing an attractive uniform) Prices reasonable

Went for some food here today ... Waited 1hr 10min for 5 small plates. At no point we're we advised there would be a wait. At 50min I asked how long. Be 5-10min I was told but no apology. If they had said initially we would not have placed an order. We went because we had a good experience on our last Cheltenham visit but never again. Staff really didn't seem interested. Even as pouring drinks they we leaning on bar. All in all a 1hr 10 for food is a poor show.

Similar to Wetherspoons in food choice and price. It’s the first time I’ve been to Spectre and was pleasantly surprised. The food was well cooked,fresh and arrived quickly.

Decent prices and choice. Pool table is definitely a bonus. Staff was polite Nd professional.

Absolutely disgraceful.been drinking in spectre for ten years as a regular.when it's been dead I always was in there keeping them going 12 months year after year.soon as racing starts you charge us the same as outsiders.£405 for a bog standard lager on sunday.i will not b going to the spectre ever again..

They shouldn't put there prices up on race days. Should think of there locals.

Really friendly staff, had a good laugh with them, not the cheapest boozer in Cheltenham but get what you pay for. Loads of different sports on when visited Saturday afternoon, really good atmosphere, no complaints from me .

Bit basic menu. Service was slow considering there was only about 10 people in there when we arrived. Really more of a sports bar than a place to dine.

Friendly and helpful staff. We ordered from the small plates menu and were quite pleased. The chicken was lovely and moist, the onion rings, chips and bhajis' were also really nicely cooked. We will return very soon.

I dont usually come in here but by chance I noticed it was the same menu as another pub i had visited recently which had amazing chicken wings on offer. I am fussy about wings and these guys cook them exactly how I like them. Loads of drink on offer and plenty of screens for the football bar staff seemed friendly and the service was nice and quick. Will definitely be back for more wings! Came back for more wings and just as good! 12/10/22
