The Lane Bakery in Dover

I ordered a birthday cake for my wife's birthday 1 month ago April 2024 I arranged to pick up today 24.05.24 on arrival at shop was told not ready , and to come back in 20 minutes . I arrived back at shop 30 minutes later still not ready ,also I had ordered a sign happy birthday 65 today which was not available, I was not impressed by the service at all.

The Lane often host special events, we attended their cupcake masterclass in December. Since being diagnosed with Coeliac disease I was worried I wouldn't be able to take part in events like this moving forward. The Lane Bakery were absolutely amazing, they completely understood my requirements and even set us up our own little station with gluten free cupcakes and decorations. The staff had double checked all the decorating ingredients and provided alternatives to those that I could not have. It was an amazing cupcake class and I wasn't made to feel left out or any different just because I have Coeliac disease. Highly recommend and the cakes were amazing!!! We had such a fun evening learning to decorate cupcakes, the hosts were extremely friendly and the cupcakes were yummy!!

Ordered a bespoke birthday cake. Staff communicated brilliantly, understood our needs, worked hard to complete this at fairly short notice. Fantastic cake in terms of design, appearance and flavour. Delighted. Will definitely be ordering again. Also prices are v reasonable.

Ordered a cake for my partner’s birthday. Absolutely fantastic as usual! This is the second celebration cake I’ve bought from The Lane and would not hesitate to go back for the next one! Fantastic service, fantastic cake! Everyone is always welcoming, friendly and the cakes are simply excellent.

Ordered a cake for my son’s baptism. Asked for a chocolate cake with sage coloured icing and got exactly what I asked for. We used our own sign. Got lots of compliments on the cake and i myself, thought it was lovely. Ordered for 2 days before Christmas.
