Delicious food very reasonably priced. Quick service and friendly relaxed atmosphere. Lots of free parking and good disabled access. Highly recommended

It’s been reopened since its renovations for a year now, but we just tried it and it’s brilliant! Very good menu and food was great. Outside area was spacious and lovely in the sunshine. Also had a great selection of beers.

Popped in for a cuppa but the roast is too difficult to resist. Just delicious! Lovely pub & welcoming to dogs too.

Amazing atmosphere, beautiful views at the back and nice garden. As appetizers, we had the tomato cream cheese salad that was very good, the calamari was good but they have used bottled supermarket chili sauce. We wanted to have lamb burgers we were not told that were not available and ordered a white bottle of wine. We ended up having ribeye steaks, we asked if we can change the wine to red but we were not allowed even if we offered to pay for the two glasses that we had.The steaks were mediocre with not necessary chili oil on it, the chips though were amazing. The torte was great, the panna cotta had canned strawberries on top, we would recommend fresh strawberry compote. In addition, we would recommend since it’s a gastropub to bring small plates with the appetizers and bring the ketchup in a small bowl instead of sachets. We are going back to have the lamb burger, we hope they will compensate.

The food was delicious and the service was very attentive and accommodating. We enjoyed my partners birthday meal and would definitely come back. Thank you for a lovely meal!

The first time back for us since The Lamb’s reopening. It was our Christmas meal with a party of six. Such a beautiful Grade II listed building. The decor is very stylish and well done. The restaurant is a good size with different sections. We were in a smaller room. Even though there was a Christmas party of 40 we didn’t really hear them. The staff were very attentive and professional. The food was beautifully presented and high standard. I had the Gravlax to start which is treacle cured salmon. My husband had the Roast turkey and I had Ravioli with wild mushrooms for our mains. Then Christmas pudding for dessert. It was all superb. The ravioli was the best I have had. We were all very happy with our food choices. We all had a great time. I would go so far as to say, of all our diners club Christmas meals over quite a few years. This was the best. It was a reasonable price for food of such good quality. Definitely worth a visit. We are so very happy the Lamb on the Strand is back. Note: It has a decent sized carpark. Also a newly added path to the restaurant. Seating outside in the summer with lovely views.

Our first visit for several years and we were impressed. Friendly service and good food. I opted for fish and chips, which was lovely, and everyone else enjoyed their lamb and mint burgers. I did find the chairs in the dining room a little uncomfortable, and it was a tight fit around the table, but otherwise, a very positive experience and we will return.

Fantastic family lunch out today. The lamb was very good and vegetarian baked celeriac was a fabulous non meat roast option. Service was first class 😋

This is a lovely venue in the beautiful countryside of Wiltshire. We were warmly greeted by the staff, as we came in, and the great service carried on throughout the evening. We were seated at a slightly odd table in a corner, perfectly adequate, I just felt a bit in the way. Menus were handed out, although I'd looked online and set my heart on delights already, and we had a couple of drinks to get started. We went for a sharing arrangement for our starters and had the crispy pickled root veg, the bread and pistachio butter alongside the trout rillettes. The bread and butter were lovely, different combination that worked well. The pickled veg were nice, but some you needed your good teeth for whilst others were very soft. I'm told, as I'm not a fishy person, that the trout rillette was divine. Main course arrived and as usual I went for haddock and chips. I know this contradicts my previous paragraph but everything is better deep fried in batter! The Mr went for the spicy bean burger, which looked fabulous. A couple of niggles would be that the burger was very squishy for a bean burger, it kept trying to escape from the bun. I usually order fish and chips as it's a great way to compare how different chefs manage with batter. The chips were thick, chunky and crispy as anything. The tartare sauce was really good, as were the crushed peas - sounds daft but they tasted of peas, not making them like other places where they add god knows what to them! My niggle was that halfway through the fish - which was beautifully cooked and moist - the batter went a bit stodgy and lost its crispiness. It's a small thing, not really worth mentioning on the night as everything else was top notch. Dessert arrived, as it always seems too... I had the pumpkin spiced set custard which was a delight to look at, as well as eat. The custard was smooth and not over spiced, and it came with filo shards and the lightest meringue I've ever eaten. The Mr had the cheescake which was a concoction of blond chocolate and mascarpone. It also comes with Horlicks ice cream - which I tried and can safely say it was yummy. It wasn't a cheap night out, but overall it was worth the money. Next time I'd like to sit by the fire in the little dining room, not in a hallway. Please take yourself there and enjoy.

It was lovely, and I’m fussy, best Sunday roast ever, by a country mile. The only observation I would make is it was a cold day and we had a drink in the bar as we were early, which could be a lovely welcoming area but the fire wasn’t lit. Fix that and it would have been 5 stars across the board. Definitely going back.

First time visit since new owners took over, had Saturday lunch, very limited menu,quite expensive for such a limited selection.Starter of rillette nicely presented apart from small amounts of what looked like small thin pieces of toast on which to spread rillette, no additional bread offered. Fish and chips quite greasy, have never seen such small ramekins for mushy peas and tartare sauce.Apple cake for desert was really tasty. All in all really disappointed, as previous visits had been positive with good portions and choices, admittedly all under previous ownership. Need to review pricing strategy and possibly add to the lunch menu, having a veggie burger and venison burger on the same menu is not very enticing to come for a visit

Fantastic Sunday lunch, with all the trimmings. Great service, beautiful food (hot when served! which isn't always the case with Sunday lunch). Save room for pudding! Very good vegan options as well. Our second time, and will be back again! Thank you.

Came for a Sunday roast and was probably the best one I’ve ever eaten. The beef was perfectly cooked and the range of vegetables that accompanied the meal were beautiful. Huge Yorkshire puddings, crispy and fluffy roast potatoes and divine gravy - you won’t want to leave a drop. The children’s portions are also very generous, but the absolutely unmissable item is the cauliflower cheese. You won’t regret ordering that too. The puddings were delicious too, all washed down with a red wine recommendation (for the adults anyway!). We managed pictures of those but the roast was so good we got stuck in straight away. Overall, a lovely experience with knowledgable, friendly staff in a relaxing environment with a great ambiance. We will definitely be returning!

This was the first time we had visited and it won't be the last. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The service was discreet and our welcome very warm and the place was decorated with antique artefacts and furniture. A really good place to go for a relaxing meal. There is also a lovely beer garden and dogs are welcome

Glad to see this pub open again, great transformation, much lighter and brighter, welcoming staff. Had the Battered Haddock, delicious, and i was tempted to have dessert, seriously yummy. Definitely go again.

It’s great to see The Lamb open again. Ignore any reviews that are more than a couple of months old as they’re irrelevant. The food is excellent with a reasonable number of choices on the menu but not too many that everything is fresh. There’s a good children’s menu as well. The wine list is extensive and has choices across all price ranges. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. £100 for two people having starters and main courses followed by coffee plus a bottle of mid-range (£35) wine. We will definitely be returning.

This is a GREAT pub and restaurant, just what this part of Wiltshire needs. Been here twice for dinner now - genuinely delicious food, just on the right side of unpretentious and unfussy, great local ingredients and lovely staff.

Without a doubt our FAVOURITE local pub, whether it is a outstandingly delicious meal or just a calm, casual drink, we cannot fault The Lamb on The Strand and the new management it is now under! Such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, fantastic service and an all round brilliant experience. The food truly is exceptional, and for someone who has so many dietary allergies, I have never once been made to feel like I am a pain, or be massively limited in my options, which is a hugely rare occurrence for me, so I honestly cannot thank them enough! If you haven’t yet visited, I strongly recommend you do, you will not be disappointed!!!!

Went there on 5th Feb hoping to have lunch. All closed up, no lights on inside, and Christmas decorations still up in bar. Car park empty. What a shame - this was a good pub with great food.

This pub seems to have closed. Phone on auto-answer and you can’t leave a message. Online booking not working. Came out on spec and place in darkness. Shame because we’ve had some good meals here

It's always tricky catering for a large party but the staff at the Lamb on the Strand did an amazing job leading up to and during the evening. Fabulous food and wine plus a great evening had by all - we will definitely be back!

A work group of 6 booked a pre-Christmas lunch, at a cost of £21 each. We all had starters and mains. Everyone's meals (turkey and beef roasts) were delicious. The portions were spot-on and good plate presentation was visually appealing. I have to mention the roast potatoes because they were fabulous - fluffy and crisp! Being a veggie, I pre-ordered a nutroast which I couldn't fault.The attendants were lovely and did their utmost to make our lunch enjoyable.

We came here for dinner one evening and were warmly welcomed by a lovely lady and a table right next to a log fire which was nice and cozy.Service was excellent and ever so friendly. The food was incredibly tasty, be prepared for a large portion of food! Really nice food.

A group of 12 of us had lunch here recently. Everything was lovely. There was a table large enough for us all, in fact we had a room to ourselves. We had preordered our food and it arrived without delay. The food was delicious, the puddings went down particularly well. We will definitely be back to enjoy your hospitality and food.

Ample parking, small children's play area. Comfortable garden furniture.We sat (4 adults, 1 teen, 1 under 10) in the garden on very comfortable ratan furniture. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Service was freindly, informal and quick. Within the pub the di k g area is light airy and seating is spaced out nicely. Unfortunately the Lamb closed between lunch and evening or we could of sat in the garden all day. I was recommended to visit by a friend with the recommendation that they have never had a bad meal, and I was not disappointed.

My wife and I held a private celebration dinner party for sixteen family and friends. The meticulous attention to detail in the advance planning and throughout the actual evening from Bronya and Ian was superb. The food was delicious and expertly served by the staff in a room perfectly suited and prepared for the occasion. We and all our guests were absolutely delighted. Had dinner on Friday 12 July 2019 and had never been before.

Lovely pub in nice setting. Somewhat limited menu however the food that was served was really well presented and tasted delicious. Staff very attentive and friendly and always willing to help. One criticisim is that I thought the food somewhat pricey, compared to similar pub/restaurants in the vicinity, the cheeseboard (3 cheeses) especially so at £11.00

Strange set up,,,, pub not open on a Monday and Tuesday, but restaurant is, with a limited menu of English tapas,,, no atmosphere, and like sitting in a closed restaurant... just four customers....

We were very lucky to find this great pub. The menu choice and quality was first rate and we were spoilt for choice. My duck confit starter was delicately flavoured and I also tasted the lamb kofta which was also very tasty. The main courses were also good and included a delicious beef curry and a tasty ale and beef pie. There was a good atmosphere and the pub is tastefully decorated. If you are in the area, call in, you are in for a treat.

Meet up with an old friend every few weeks and we try various local restaurants and pubs for a meal.

We hadn’t been here for sometime so thought we would give it another try. The menu was tapas and we chose a selection. Nothing came with the dishes so you had to buy sides. The clams were inedible and everything else wa# deep fried with not much taste. It was not worth the £45 we paid. We will not be going back.

We had the best Sunday Roast. The beef melted in your mouth and the Yorkshire pud wasn’t hard and burnt like a few places we have been. The desserts were heavenly. We always have a lovely meal here and it is a charming country pub.

We are regular lunch time visitors at the Lamb, but rarely go for dinner. We went tonight for my partner's birthday and had a wonderful evening. The food was wonderful: he raced over his late and cla!s, and my smoked duck and lamb was lovely. The warm welcome that Bronya and Ian offer was, as usual, the icing on the cake. This is a venue

Absolutely beautiful food and excellent value for money. Service was superb. Lunchtime menu is a great idea. Two courses for £13.95 or three courses for £15.95.

Just enjoyed a lively meal. We went for basic pub food rather than the more exotic choices but the food was excellent. Lovely feel to the place and very friendly staff.

Had the most amazing tasting Sunday lunch i think i have ever had! The food was absolutely delicious, and my pudding was stunning! (you should definitely go for the chocolate mousse dome). Lovely staff and we weren't rushed, had time to breathe. Nice atmosphere and a fab meal. The portion sizes were just right, we didn't leave hungry, and we didn't leave feeling sick. Definitely cannot fault the amazing food! On the more expensive side but you definitely get what you pay for and we will definitely be returning soon.

This is almost my second home - I come here for dinner with all my friends locally. The food is absolutely tremendous - can't fault it. The atmosphere is lovely here, when it's cool enough; there's a fire at each each of the bar. Smashing staff - so friendly.

Had a lovely meal, friendly service. Wasn’t rushed had time to breath, chat enjoy the night. A well priced mid week special menu, very tasty feel full but not over full for three courses. Would go again.

four of us had an excellent Sunday lunch today, food was excellent as was the service. Plenty of parking and a nice atmosphere as well. Not the cheaper end of the market, but you get what you pay for - we will definitely return.

I came here for lunch with a friend and was pleasantly surprised at the range of menu options, including the reasonably priced omelette with chips and salad that we both opted for as we only wanted a light lunch. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. The chips were clearly home made, really tasty, and the salad perfectly dressed.

Most enjoyable place for lunch. Mum and me both chose omelettes - not often seen on a lunch menu - which were beautifully cooked and served with the crispest delicious chips ( the basket didnt look big but seemed to hold far more than it looked as we were almost outfaced!) just enough salad with a tasty dressing. Perfect. And the service was great. Happy, busy and attentive. And such a reasonable price for what we had . Highly recommend

Myself and my wife popped in for lunch yesterday (Saturday) and we were very pleasantly surprised.

Although I have reviewed The Lamb before, I feel the chef's, staff and owners should be highly praised. We made a last minute booking for a family Christmas get together. The owners are always very friendly, accommodating and go out of their way to make our evening very enjoyable. The food was fantastic, all our meals were served promptly by the friendly girls. The pork belly starters and blue cheese fritters were delicious. Myself and my mother in law had the guinea fowl which was superb. All in all the evening was very successful and can't wait to return. I love a tea cup, but not for my cappicino! £3 each for 10 mouthfuls of luke warm coffee from a machine. Not impressed.com

I booked a table to eat here last weekend and meet with some friends, I had accidentally booked close to last orders and as a result ended up staying beyond closing time in the afternoon. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, despite us taking a while they didn't rush us and made us feel incredibly welcome.

Well cooked, tasty English food. Reasonably priced and excellent service. Would recommend three course lunch menu.

We decided to go to the Lamb at the Stand off the back of a review done by a local newspaper. First of all did the reviewer go to the same place as we went to?? they must of took a wrong turning some where along the way.

We have visited this location many times, always great food and a very nice atmosphere, the staff are lovely as are the owners. We have never been disappointed.

I cannot speak highly enough about this wonderful pub/restaurant. We went for their Beaujolais Nouveau evening and what an evening it was. Excellent food, carefully chosen wine and genuinely friendly service made it an evening to remember. Highly recommended on all fronts 👏👏👏

This is the first time we ever visit this pub. Where we sat was good near the fire. The choice of food on the menu was good. I had a starter and main. Both food were brilliant. The main I had was a ale pie with chips which you can have a choice of chips or mash. The pie oh wow was exceptionally good very hot and good filling inside. We all throughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff are very helpful and laid back.

The food and service here is consistently good and great value. Everything presented elegantly and tastes delicious. Interesting selection of freshly prepared vegetables is particularly impressive. (No problem here in getting your 5- a-day.) Come and try for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

My partner and I had visited here on a Sunday and had enjoyed a very tasty and well cooked Sunday lunch so decided to visit again for an evening meal. We arrived at 7.30 pm and although the place was very quiet only 2 other tables with diners, there was a warm welcome and a nice atmosphere.

We have wanted to eat here for ages having passed by numerous times. Today we had a lovely lunch with old friends. The menu is interesting and the food was excellent. Lovely cosy surroundings and log fire - great staff and reasonably priced. What is there not to like about this place.

Sunday lunch for four was a very enjoyable experience with three roasts and a curried trout the food was hot served in good time with excellent veg selection. The service was efficient and friendly so would definitely recommend this pub .

We visited here last night for a meal on the spur of the moment travelling back.

The food was delicious and the presentation was excellent,but there were only two tables being served,so the service was much too slow!

Very good meal. It was busy, so there was a bit of a wait and would have appreciated being warned. Well worth it, though! Good menu and specials board. Excellent service. Not fine dining but pretty close. Slightly expensive but not ridiculously so.

Beautiful pub with a lovely garden to sit out in during the good weather. From here, you can relax whilst watching the kids play on the play equipment whilst they make new friends. Hosts welcoming and attentive. Staff friendly. The food was amazing. We ate here two nights whilst staying in the adjoining cottage. The scallops were melt in the mouth, chicken rendang beautiful and the fish perfectly cooked. Highly recommended.

Have been here a few times in the last few months and each time we have not been disappointed with any part of the experience. Excellent food, great selection of gins, a decent real ale all topped off with first rate service.

My husband and I have eaten here a few times recently and it is now our favourite place to eat. So for his birthday on Saturday we decided to bring 9 family members along. The pork belly bites are to die for, the fish chowder is excellent and my brother in law said the chicken rendang was superb. The pub itself was fairly busy but the staff were very attentive and looked after us all extremely well. Everyone said they had a fantastic evening and will return again. We will also be coming back bringing more family and friends. Thank you all for a truly lovely evening.

My wife and I had lunch here today Monday 16th July 2018 and we were very disappointed after being leed to believe that this was very good food. There were only to other ladies in on our arrival and the did not appear to be eating. I had a burger and my wife had upside down Shepard’s pie. After fighting off the flies we started our meals. My wife said she was underwhelmed with her meal and I had to ask for my chips to be changed as they were so hard I could not eat them. The burger was £14.95 but if I wanted cheese or bacon these would be £1.00 each extra. We mention the flies after our meal to the landlady by pointing them out to her all over our plates. She said she didn’t know what to do about them as they were in the middle of the countryside. But with the prices being a little higher than average, I must say I do expect a little more, not less

Well, we have used this pub restaurant quite a lot in the past but our visit last Tuesday was a bit different. Although there was a warm and friendly welcome from the Landlady, , it is quite a large venue, and there were only 5 dining and 2 drinking all evening. This affected the atmosphere a little bit. We dined and the menu was the standard fayre and no specials board. We had the burger and this was dry and not great. Maybe because it was a Tuesday but we expected more and unfortunately got less on this occasion.

We were looking forward to a Sunday roast. Presentation very nice. Pork lovely but didn't come with stuffing.. However, beef was far too underdone 'very rare' and was not advised of this.. very strange veg choice something that resembled sun-dried tomatoes with herbs and red onions (and I think aburgines) very strange with a Sunday roast like having a moussaka on the side.. mixed veg was ok even though it had white beetroot in it.

We called in for a evening meal we was the only people in the entire pub.the welcome was the best part of the evening.we orderd 2 beers and 2 mains from a very limited menu.the prices seemed very expensive for what was offered.my gammon was like boot leather and extremely salty.my wife had a burger which was tasteless.The ale was £8.40 for 2 pints so 2 beers and 2 mains cost £40 which was a total waste of money.take our advice Keep Well Clear.

Visited with friends and enjoyed a superb Sunday lunch, great selection of food to suit all, each meal chosen was superbly prepared and everyone confirmed it tasted great, we will definitely return! Staff were really attentive, but not intrusive.

Visited here for Sunday lunch whilst house hunting in the area and it was great. Extremely good value, especially when you can tell that the chef is making an effort.
