Friendly service, nice traditional look and decent food and a decent selection of beer. I'd happily eat here again and try something more than the pretty good BLT I had this time.

Great local. Barperson serving us knew his/their stuff and was very pleasant. I'd like to go back to try the peanut butter scotch. Nice pint of Butcombe.

We had a wonderful lunch there today and the lamb was truly spectacular. I would huge recommend this place for beverage and something to eat.

Really kind staff here who made our night just perfect. I was visiting with a friend, and we sat in the garden that backs beautifully on to the river. The kind staff turned on some wonderful lights and we had a great evening. Thank you! (Also, the lamb here is DELICIOUS!)

Couldn't go into the rear garden overlooking the river due to a wake but lovely none the less. Dog friendly for those with furry friends.

I cannot sing high enough praises for the food here. It was all beautiful, huge portions, and at such a reasonable price. The service was friendly and welcoming, and there was also a band playing.

Absolutely spot on service. After telling the barmaid Poppy of my gluten allergy she diligently obliges with extra hand hygiene. All the bar staff are friendly and top dollar.

This was our first visit to The George and Dragon and most definitely will not be our last. The menu was not only varied, catering for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans, the prices were incredibly reasonable. The lunch menu offered two ciabatta sandwiches for £12 so in this cost of living crisis, it makes eating out that little less stressful. The warm welcome we received from Keith was not only genuine but also made the visit more memorable. His customer service was exceptional and he was warm and bubbly and friendly. Nathan was the chef on shift and the food was exquisite. I had the BLT ciabatta which was delicious. Perfectly cooked bacon, not greasy or fatty like you can get in some pubs. The garden seating area is so tranquil and peaceful it adds a touch of something extra. Thank you guys for a wonderful family lunch…10/10 all round. We’ll definitely be back. If you are looking for quality food at reasonable prices and fantastic service… head straight here.

Not bad for a last minute booking having béeen let down by our hotel. Typical pub food..value for money. The live music was an extra which we didn't need but it was good that we atleast got a meal with not much notice.well done george and dragon.

Good food, but seems like delays for larger groups. Small interior, and live events which some may like, cause issues if you want to eat and talk. A good place though. No parking though.

Large outdoor eating space. There are no issues with this pub on this visit.

A really great old English pub with excellent food. Staff very friendly. Beer was also very good and I was immediately given some samples so I could choose the right beer. We recommend.

Went in on Saturday and has gone downhill since our last visit. 5 people queuing around the bar (why queue at a bar!!), service was very slow so we left and there was a man behind the bar with long hair and wearing lipstick and eye liner!

Great atmosphere at the karaoke night. They also have a pool table!

A friendly welcome and nice drinks. The food was super, loved the lamb shank! The atmosphere is warm and the decor quirky. We had a meal before going on to the theatre and it was the perfect start to our evening.

We are not local to the area and just popped in for a quick drink. The staff were warm and friendly and the food was fantastic. They also served a perfect pint of Guinness!

Cory the barman was the most welcoming and gracious host absolutely fantastic service. Food was lovely and we had a brilliant chilled night playing board games. When we visit Salisbury next we will definitely be returning!

Amazing experience for a 40th birthday party. Was able to use the hut out back would looks lovely anyway but was aloud to decorate. Brilliant price on buffet style food mix of hot and cold. Staff where brilliant and helped with anything that was needed ! Could not recommend this place more.

A warm welcome on a wet day for a small party of adults and children meeting in Salisbury after travelling long distances. Children provided with toys - just the thing for a wet day. Food and drinks excellent and exceptional service from the young man from behind the bar. We were not rushed and all went well. Highly recommended for families. In good weather there is the opportunity to use the pub garden which runs down to the river.

Cory couldn’t have been more perfect as Barman and host for the evening. He used his charm, skill and respectful personality to make sure we and those around us had the perfect evening. He was working hard, but took time to make us feel special as visitors to the town. The meal was delicious and I’d fully recommend this quirky, traditional old fashioned inn with a twist of the original. Thank you so much.

Popped in for a pint, was greeted with fantastic live music with a twist! Can highly recommend going on Sunday evenings assuming the live music is a regular event! Great pint of Guinness too to top it off

The staff here were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the products and dishes served. They made great suggestions for places to go in the city and made the time here a hugely pleasant experience. Would thoroughly recommend.

Not a very good experience I'm afraid. Quite cold and not very inviting. Food tasted good but later I had an upset stomach. Probably better in the summer when you can sit outside.

Large and open pub with a garden that stretches a long way back to the river Avon. Plenty of seating inside and out, with covered areas for inclement weather. Nice selection of beers and friendly staff.

This place is mint. Great in the summer. Nice and cost on the winter. The guy behind the bar with the long black hair has the best customer service skills I have ever experienced. Legend. Keep up the good work mate.

Visited a month or so ago and enjoyed the atmosphere and food. Popped in today whilst shopping with my sons, 12 and 15 ( older sons request as he enjoyed his food so much last time) we had a really lovely welcome again, lovely bar man, food really tasty again and enjoyed a couple of the games on offer. We will definitely visit again, recommend the 3 dishes for £12, great value. Thank you.

An absolutely horrible pub, having gone in there once to initially book a gig new in town I accidentally broke a piano lid….went back to apologise and offered to pay to repair the damage to the lock but one half of the landlords (nick) is clearly someone who likes a bit of a power trip….. Went back in over a year later with some friends and played some music….still barred 😂😂😂 Then a load of its rather childish clientele including a member of his staff wrote a dis-track making fun of illnesses like addiction (ironic when they sell alcohol) when we tried to book a Sunday lunch in there with a local business as a peace offering. The food is ok but the front of house are pretty dire and people regularly report the beer being off, but they refuse to change it.

Absolutely awful .Had a pint of real ale ,took one sip and tasted off and was cloudy.I asked for a replacement ale ,I was told that as the keg was not empty it was ok .These people have no idea how to look after there beer . My advice would be to try elsewhere in the street.

Awful. Beer was discusting Took one sip ,clearly off it stank and was cloudy,the bar person rufued to change for any thing else because " it can't be off the barrels no empty" So I left .Terrible.lf you want a good beer this is not the place for you .

Wahnsinnig gutes Essen, sehr netter Service und tolles Ambiente. Die Location hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Absolute Empfehlung. 😋🤗 Nettes Plus: Es wird einmal die Woche ein Gamingabend gemacht, wo man Brettspiele jeder Art spielen kann. Jeden Tag gibt es was anderes zu erleben.

About 20 minutes away from Stonehenge, there's this pub I really enjoyed! Great food, excellent service! I think I'll be back on a Monday to watch Dungeons and Dragons game sessions.

Friendly staff and amazing food, both in flavour and portions. It has been some time since I had such a juicy chicken breast in a burger. On a side note, the pub has boardgames and a "Geek & Dragons" event on Mondays. As a geek I find this amazing!

Booked a table on-line based on earlier reviews. Not a great looking place from outside to be honest, but a good pub atmosphere inside, pleasant staff, nice pint of beer and excellent pubgrub style evening meal.

George & Dragon was so awesome. They had an indoor area, just like an atmospheric pub should be like, but also a vast outdoor garden area in the back. Staff were super friendly and so accommodating. The fish & chips were amazing, literally the best...

George and Dragon is a most excellent public house, the food is always delicious and hot, unless you order something not, drinks are plenty, hot and cold beverages. The staff are awesome, polite and helpful. Would definitely give this public house the award for best pub in Salisbury.

Litrally stumbled on this place on the way back to the hotel having given it a wide birth when we were sober at the start of the evening due to it looking abit 'spit and sawdusty' but it was a great decision to go in....

Come across this pub quite by accident. Needed to eat but the 2 previous pubs stopped lunch at 3. Luckily this one still did food. There was a good range of beers and the barman was among the best I have ever come across. Friendly.chatty.informative...

Lovely staff and a beautiful historic building, but the venue was frustrating as a wheelchair user, and seemed tricky inside for an autistic member of my party to avoid being too close to speakers.

Small pub with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. We had the Sunday beef roast and it was good solid food and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again the next time we visit Salisbury.

Friendly service from all staff during our work night out. I don't normally choose a burger when I go out for food, but it came with rosemary salted chips & very light creamy coleslaw & sounded nice. It was delicious & I cleared my plate. Everyone enjoyed their food. Great to have some live music to listen to as well. Spacious area outside. I was expecting less, but got more & would definitely come back to support this independent pub.
