We have often called in the flag when we have been out on our boat.the atmosphere and dynamics have changed ,all due to the previous management couple leaving.the previous couple (pete & shell ) made this pub the heart of the community the beer was always good the banter on tap and shells yorkshire puddings was a real treat. They made the pub feel cosy, welcoming and traditional with 6 top notch cask ales always on tap .But alas no more...i wonder where they are and hope their new customers enjoy the yorkshire puds as much as we did.. its amazing how its all changed no welcoming atmosphere,no heart or soul in the place,no well kept ales its such a shame that the owners didnt do more to keep the management that really did love this pub. .We will not forget the drag car on the car park or the bouncy castles and rodeo on the charity day they did so much to make this pub the heart of little Haywood,...just in case you still read your reviews...THANK YOU GUYS where ever you are... i wont be visiting again unless by some miracle the proper landlord and landlady return.

4 of us called in for a pint before heading off to a local Super Bowl party. Decent beer, pleasant surroundings and friendly & knowledgeable landlord. Will call in again.

6 weekly changing real ales the locals of this pub are spoilt for choice the managers are friendly helpful and welcoming.Ales are really well kept, with tasters given to help you decide.good range of amber, dark and lights on offer if you love ales you will love this pub.its a proper traditional pub serving quality ales, the landlord is always happy to explain the nurture of his ales and the cask mark accreditation is a testament to their hard work in providing quality. Thank you for a decent pint although we had to travel it was worth the visit

This is what pubs used to be like This pub really is the heart of the community.,we got a warm welcome from the landlord/landlady and customers, with a good choice of 6 well kept real ales ,if your are a real ale drinker then this is a pub that is a must to visit, with a well deserved cask marque accreditation its the first time i have ever tasted Doombar that had been kept properly i usually stay away from this one but the landlord insisted i tried it, stating you may have tasted doombar but you have not tried mine it was lovely i did not realise it actually tastes so good... i was offered a sample of each ale to try...that doesn't happen in chain pubs.. the taste, aroma and clarity was very good..they dont serve food but offer a good selection of freshly made cobs to order. This is a pub that has got it right with excellent beer quality excellent atmosphere and i agree with a previous review the landlord is as mad has a march hare but this is what makes it a welcome place for anyone always smiling and chatty who knows his customers and what they drink,.....dog friendly with dog treats being given to every dog that walked in with their owner .....Well done keep up the good work... My offer will always stand ..if you ever need a job or want your own pub you have our number...thats how impressed i was from 1 visit of the way this management team operate their pub ........

6 plus Real Ales and Ciders. All in good condition, well the ones I have tried. As a visitor to the area have not had time to try all the beers.. The ones I have tried are cheaper and better than other pubs in the area. Food is limited but there is Sky Sports, can't have it all.

This place has masses of room for friends to sit together and have a chat in quieter areas or join in the throng of folks in the bar. A good range of well kept real ales and they serve bar snacks too. It is a lovely old historic building with some points of interest and well worth a visit. The staff are very friendly and welcoming

Ordered a roll to be made up. Lady had a phlegmy cough, didn’t wear gloves and proceeded to wipe her nose on the back of her hand before putting the ham on my roll…..come on please. I couldn’t eat it, you’ll find it in the bin outside

We have been visiting the Boat Inn on and off for over 10 years as we visit Gnosall on our narrow boat travels. Whilst the management have changed a number of times fortunately the service and food standards have remained high. We did dine on this visit and both the food and drinks were excellent and the welcome warm.
