Caffe Nero in Stafford

My favourite cafe in town with tasty coffee and lovely staff

Called in this morning. Blue bottles and many other smaller flies all over the pastries. These and other trays were not covered. The leather furniture (sofas) are absolutely "Minging" ....if you don't believe me, take a look under the cushions!!!!!!! I cannot locate a telephone number or email address for their head office otherwise, this email would have gone to them also.

Nice coffee and good place for a chat

Great coffee and nice pistachio mousse cake but let down very badly by only 1 staff member being there, and had a queue. Can't blame the single staff member, she looked run off her feet. There were dirty tables and quite a few had not had dirty mugs etc cleaned away. When I was queuing, I saw the staff member throwing beakers and mixing mugs in the sink then a quick swill before using them, not good. My local Nero always has at least 2 staff serving and are always able to clean tables and wash the crockery and beakers properly.

£7.90 for 2 medium lattes extortionate and weren't even in medium cups , tea spoons we're also dirty and customer service wasn't that great.

I am a frequent visitor to Stafford and always visit Cafe Nero. Love the location and coffee.

It is in a very convenient location. Since it is in the center of Stafford, transportation is very easy. The prices were reasonable according to the taste of the coffee we drank. I ordered a ham and cheese toastie, my delivery came and no body rang to let me know beforehand that they were replacing my toastie for tomatoes and Brie and I’m allergic to tomato so I rang them up and explained the situation and they told me to apply for a refund which I think is disrespectful as I’m severely allergic to tomato! Rubbish customer service I’m not happy at all! All I got was you can apply for a refund!

I don't much like coffee places anyway, but this is one I'll definitely avoid in future. Only went in because I needed to use the loo. Found the loo despite sign pointing in the wrong direction. Drank mediocre coffee and left.

Completely let down by inadequate staffing. We so felt for the poor woman in there who was literally run off her feet. Despite this she was incredibly professional and offered wonderful customer service. It's not the first time we've seen her in there alone. If it were me, I'd be telling the company where to stick their job. With the amount of folk walking out, they really aren't saving money by scrimping on staff.

So accommodating and lovely like always. The almond 🥐 croissant and the coffee is really good

Everything you'd expect from a cafe

Very poor service today. No queue, just slow service. Staff look extremely demotivated and stressed. The Stafford store is looking very tired and in need of a good clean or refurbishment.

Nice chilled atmosphere with a coffee and some cake

Caffè Nero in Stafford town centre is spacious and bright, with large picture windows looking out on to the street. The interior is smart enough but I thought that more effort could have gone into clearing and cleaning tables, particularly as the cafe wasn’t overly busy. The counter service was very good. Similarly, our coffees and sandwiches were of the high quality we expect of the chain and we enjoyed a lazy half hour or so watching the rest of the world go by.

Visited yesterday, they obviously had to sack the cleaner over Christmas. Food was ok. Usual tea coffee etc. Visit to loo was after, sorry about the photos but think this explains it

Vist 13.50 fri 15th December 2023. Cafe neuro stafford..I was in the queue waiting to be served 1st 1 young worker with glasses constantly messing with hair. (Unhygienic).then a worker blonde hair tinsel in took food to a couple sat by window with large black dog then she touched the dog not washed her hands grabbed a lady's sandwich out from the fridge then went on to make a coffee....I've complained twice now on Google about this shop....its filthy dust hanging from the lights is terrible I think ill ring the food standards agency because its not on..I ended up walking out as it was all making me feel sick.

They must be understaffed. Usually it's great, but lately the majority of tables are dirty or filled with used trays and cups. Takeaway cups only even when drinking in. Longer queues at the till even with both staff working hard to fill all of the orders. All in all. It's not its usual self.

Coffee was very nice although in a paper cup. Place needs refurbishing as sofas ripped, and basically looking scruffy, tables not cleared from previous diners.

The place reminded me of a down and outs cafe the coffee and tea were ok the felt dirty and dingy and the staff totally uninterested in the wraps ect they were seling no explanation of contents plus the tables were dirty will not be back very expensive for what it is.

Always excellent coffee by experienced well mannered and pleasant staff.

Staff lovely and helpful..only downsideis music to loud, and where ever you sit inside you blown at by the air conditioning. And no it's not hot outside !

Lovely helpful staff, ok atmosphere. Music not to load. Bugur was good, chips soggy and pale. Bang bang chicken was yak. Noodles slimmy. The chicken was just a cut up over cook breaded chicken burger. Not much flavour. Over cooked slop for veg. Way to many seasame seeds. I couldn't eat it the rest as it became far to oily. Don't bother with the extra colsaw . It band, and over priced. Cocktails were good but way overpriced. We won't be back.

In my opinion this is the best coffee in stafford delivered with very friendly service.

We had an apricot Danish pastry, very disappointed with it. It tasted like it was leftover from the day before, soggy with no icing sugar on top and very sour apricots. Not in a hurry to revisit this cafe. ☹👎

Stafford Caffè Nero is our favourite coffee shop. Very welcoming to our wee Yorkie and super friendly staff. 😀

Very nice coffee, muffins didn't taste too fresh, they were date stamed 2 days old. Maybe just have a coffee next time

Idk why, but Caffè Nero is my favourite of all the high street coffee chains. Maybe it's the photos of Italy, the light jazz music playing, the free water available to help yourself to? It just feels nicely understated and continental

My boyfriend and I like to go here whenever we go out in the town because we like the food and he loves the hot chocolates. Only rating 4 star due to the fact that there have been quite a few times where we've arrived to no food being available in the fridges which is a shame. Otherwise a nice little cafe.

I really like Caffè Nero as a brand, so I’m glad there’s a Stafford location. The baristas there are really friendly, and the place itself is kept clean. However, it loses a star because the toilets are slightly dated and a bit dirty. However, I love coming to Caffé Nero nonetheless! I recommend it (:

Nice place to catch up with friends. Considerate staff and service. Great food and drinks. There are usually seats available.

My favourite local chain coffee shop. Service usually excellent as are the drinks and cake. Sometimes hard to get a seat especially in the winter when outside is a no no. Don't forget the discounts if you have meerkat rewards or a three mobile phone. These make enjoying a coffee even 'sweeter'.

The place was very run down and tables and chairs were dirty. The cake wasn't very fresh. Good job the hot chocolate was hot!

Needs a bit of a make over. Looks a bit tired inside. However our cappuccinos were very good and the chocolate bars we bought. Even better, there is 25% of food and drink with the Meercat app.

This was the first time I have used my meerkat discount and it went well, lovely coffee.

Just awful, coffee was lukewarm, asked for a shot of hazelnut not the half a bottle....complained to the barista person, who just topped it with frothed up milk....I ended up with sweet, warm milk...ick!

This branch of Caffe Nero is ideal for anyone who is travelling by bus within the Stafford area as it is close to the main bus stops in Gaol Square. I bought a flat white coffee and a croisant which were delicious.

Frequent customer, quick service, friendly and attentive staff and very good coffee. Update: no change. Still the best coffee in Stafford.

A relaxing atmosphere and always friendly staff☺

Survive & coffee was great. Only problem that there was no facilities for dogs. I had to use a cup for my dog to drink water out off.

Love the new vegan whipped cream on top of the hot chocolate with soy milk. This was my previous review. Normally the staff are lovely. Today the barista was nothing short of rude. I selected a tea cake clearly labelled as vegan and requested dairy free spread, to be told we don't do that. I asked about people with dairy intolerance and she shrugged. I said I'd leave the tea cake and ordered a soya milk hot chocolate with mint syrup and vegan whipped cream. It was missing the syrup so my husband took it back. No apology and a LOT of syrup was put in making it pretty much undrinkable as it tasted like toothpaste. Will be avoiding the Stafford shop from now on. No idea what the point of selling vegan teacakes is if they don't have dairy free spread. #vegansofstafford

Love Caffè Nero. Nice place to sit and chill. Good selection of cakes, sandwiches and baguettes.

When will cafe Nero start staffing their establishments? A disappointing experience that was 20 minutes waiting to be served. The unfortunate staff member on her own at 10am... doing the best she could. Management need to take note and sort it out!
