The Navigation Inn in Stafford

We popped in for lunch on Saturday, had a game of pool and the most wonderful burger. Huge and delicious. The accompaniments were very good too. Plenty of big crispy, fluffy chips. My wife's jacket potato was equally filling. Lovely atmosphere too.

It was all going so well until the landlady started shouting at the children in the car park. Which made them cry, there are ways on how to communicate and ask children how to do something. She was agressive and it was completely unnecessary. The barman however was lovely.

Food was mixed. Burger excellent but jacket was a bit under cooked. Had to eat in the bar as we had our small but well behaved dog with us which was a slight disappointment as would have preferred the lounge. Service friendly, particularly lad behind the bar. Visited lunchtime after hiring a narrowboat for the day.

Stopped for a bar meal and drink after a walk along the canal. Good food at a very reasonable price and a nice pint. Very friendly staff/ owners. Would highly recommend a visit.

Yet another good lunch with excellent choice of beers and at prices which won't break the bank. Only get there a few times a year to meet up half-way with relatives. Location sublime and during summer when canal traffic increases, a wonderful meeting place. 👍👍👍

Absolutely Fantastic Food, Very good portions, Good price. The Food was Devine, it's a long time since we've had food cooked to perfection at any establishment. The Chef at The Navigation Inn deserves a Medal. 10/10. Will definitely Return, and can Definitely Recommend.

A cracker of a pub. Good food and a smashing atmosphere. We turned up soaking wet from a paddle on the canal and we were looked after with radiators to dry kit. Excellent 👌👍

Cracking pub in a great location. Called in for a pint and a snack after walking along the canal and stayed much longer than expected. Great atmosphere, snacks, drink selection and friendly staff. The onion rings are an absolute must!!

Have been here for drinks before and loved it in the bar,went for Sunday lunch but wasn't cooked as we prefer, roast potatoes hardly roasted (pale not crispy)didn't like the beef or the pork.beefburger was very bland

Popped in for lunch on the Summer Solstice . Lovely place with friendly staff. I had Beer battered Cod whilst my husband opted for a omelette. My Cod came with freshly made tartare sauce which was perfect . Delicious. We couldn't fault the service or the food.

Only had a quick drink and snack, so can't really comment on the food. But sandwich and chips were good. Only pub open on Mondays in village, average selection of beers. Other diners food looked appeasing.

Walked from Norbury junction down to here, which Great location for a nice pint, with a good looking menu! Before walking back- staff were polite and welcoming

After mooring near by we went to ask about ordering meal. We were told you had to make reservation so we asked if we could sit in beer garden for drinks with our dog and were told no dogs allowed. Imagine my disappointment when half hrs later when passing people sat in beer garden with dogs. We obviously weren't welcome. So sad as probably would have spent 100.00 on food and drinks for the 4 of us.

The Navigation is a lovely pub at the side of the Shropshire Union canal. There are a wide range of beers and wines sold, and the pub has an extensive menu of quality food. There is a large car park available if travelling by car. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the pub comes highly recommended.

Super helpful to me today with a photo project. Friendly staff who will go the extra mile for their customers. Great location next to the canal. Towpath a great way to walk off a hearty meal just watch your step if you've over endulged on the great choice of ale👍 🍺

Good atmosphere here, but no ramp access for mobility impaired folks from the Canal towpath - disappointing

Only popped in for a quick glass of something cold but we really liked the pub and the setting on the canal.

Lovely lunch really enjoyed it food was spot on very tasty with a drink staff really friendly sat outside looking down at the boats going by really relaxing well worth a visit we will be back thank you to the staff brilliant service 😊

We stopped for some drinks at The Navigation Inn at Gnosall, whilst hiring the Canal boat for the day. Great service and a lovely pint of Guinness. Pub was very clean and tidy, very welcoming.......

Another Gnossal canal side pub, easy to walk between the 2. Sadly no food on offer. Sat in the Tap room populated by locals. A bit noisy and let down a bit by the language being used. Worth a visit, but perhaps the other room would be better suited for families.

Great location the sunshine helped but could have sat outside and watched the world pass by. A working canal passes by just outside although located on a busy road, could not hear traffic. Eaten there in the past food was of good standard. Only stayed for a drink outside with the dog who was made to feel welcome.

Fitted us in for a quick bite on a busy Easter Sunday. Burger was made in house and very tasty. Chips the same. Decent pint. Cheery service. A good local boozer and a solid choice for a pint and unpretentious food.

Walked from stafford and popped in for a resr, warm welcome and a fire on goodt start, Friendly people at the bar and ordered some food and a coffee, food was lovrly and good value would be 5 stars but the coffee was not great but it is a pub not a coffee shop, well worth a visit

The staff were lovely couldn't do enough to help, very welcoming - the food on the other hand, although the navigation is a public house, was left to be wanting - I had the trio of sausage which I expected to be, given the name, the traditional three counties sausage, not three overcooked pork sausages and the mash needed to be seasoned and mashed better, the veg was ok and the gravy was lovely - my partner and I both agreed that it was almost like school dinners just not cooked as well but all in all a pleasant experience

We went as a family I ordered fish and chips as the menu was small not a lot of choice. When my meal arrived it was all over fried hard batter with virtually no fish inside kind of pound Iceland fish. We told the waitress who had no interest or customer service interest what do ever and although my plate was sent back virtually untouched no discount or apology given would not recommend this pub at all came out feeling as hungry as when I entered disappointing and rude customer service

First visit tho this Inn, stay were so welcoming and friendly, can't wait to visit again.

I was recently introduced to this long standing public house situated on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Gnosall and I was not disappointed, a warm and cheerful greeting awaited, a spotlessly clean environment, fine well presented beers & ciders and excellent service too. It needs to be said that the locals were also extremely friendly and helped provide a very pleasant atmosphere. I will certainly be visiting again very shortly.
