Came for lunch with the family and massively enjoyed my veggie roast. Nice mushroom and pumpkin seed slice with well cooked veggies, a plate so full I couldn’t finish and tonnes of flavour. Yummy G&T and very attentive staff. Thank you!

After a dreary rainy day we decided to go for a traditional Sunday lunch to warm us both up. Having stumbled across The Ladybower Inn previously we had heard the rumours of a new management team and wanted to try it out. The decor inside has remained largely the same although some great subtle differences include framed pictures of the Lancaster and the historic reference to The Dambusters. The staff were friendly and attentive and so welcoming you can't help but walk in with a smile. The pub had a great buzz about it and one of the best pints of triple X I have had poured. The food was exactly what was needed and was satisfying. The gravy alone should be jarred and sold to take home it was phenomenal. Brilliant food, great clarity in the pint and comforting friendly customer service.

New owners. Now a great family friendly and dog friendly local. The toast was excellent. The landlord and landlady are charming

Dropped by with several friends to have drinks and something to eat after a long hike in the Peak District to find out that the pub was shut despite being a Sunday. Was a bit thoughtless really and some pubs wonder why they lose visitors and profit. Also there was no clarity on the website that the pub was going to be closed on the day, so was a very disappointing and unwelcoming surprise to arrive to after a long hike.

Wish I’d read the reviews before we came! My original choice was sold out so chose scampi and chips with salad and my husband had hunters chicken. The wait time wasn’t so bad to say how busy it was but the meal was not worth the money. I was expecting home cooked chips and hot skinny French fries, the salad was a measly but if iceberg lettuce one slice of lettuce and one bit of cucumber! I could have had the same meal in Morrisons for half the price! Will not be returning as very disappointed

Picked the LadyBower Inn as was at a timely point in our journey for lunch. Drove into the car Park Opposite as no parking available on the same side. Walked across the busy road and saw no signs to say that the cark park did not belong to the pub. It became evident that the pub was seriously understaffed and we had to wait 15 mins for a drink and a further 15 minutes just to order our lunch. Lunch was OK interspersed with lots of shouting from the kitchen. The sting in the tail was a week after we arrived home i received a Fixed penalty notice for parking for min £30 if paid within 14 days. I spoke to the Inn and got told we should have registered on an IPad in the pub but as I said they were so understaffed no-one informed us. The manager parmed me off by telling me to call SPI directly. I tried. No phone line available - just on line. I appealed and they just rejected it out of hand.

Went for a drink at the ladybower inn, parked across the road in the inns carpark, which stated that it was for patrons only. Entered the pub and purchased drinks by card. There was no noticeable signage for the carpark, and no one asked if we had entered our vehicle registration number. We sat outside the pub for approx 1 hour then left. A week later a parking fine arrived for £100 , which would increase to £200, if not paid within 28 days. We rang the. pub and spoke to the manager, telling him what had happened, and stating that we had paid by card, so had proof that we had been to the pub as paying customers at the time in question on the fine. The manager could not have cared less and said we would have to pay it, as he could not do anything about it. For anyone thinking of going to the Ladybower inn, I would avoid it and go and spend your money somewhere that appreciates your custom.

We had a drive from Jessops hospital into the peaks and decided to stop off at the Ladybower Inn for a Sunday dinner as a treat after one of the worst weeks of our lives. On entry, we wondered why the music was so loud considering it was somewhere for people to sit and eat. It was £51 for two Sunday dinners, a small bowl of cauliflower cheese and a coke and a J20. The food wasn’t too bad but my partners plate barely had any gravy and we asked a waitress if we could have some more gravy. She seemed like she was going to get some and then just started serving others and carried on doing other things. Five minutes later, we asked the other waitress if we could have some more gravy and she just carried on as if we had not said anything. We waited 20 minutes and my partner ended up leaving half of her food after we had been completely ignored. The two young girls they had serving were running around like crazy, they were very clearly understaffed. Not good at all

This place is just awful and the staff are plain rude. They are serving Pepsi from 2L plastic bottles and thought it was OK to give us the flat dregs from two almost empties.. then just threw the empties on the floor behind the bar. The drinks were as flat as pancakes but the prices was definitely inflated. When the food eventually came it was no better. Cold, undercooked and not worth the exorbitant prices. Needs a new chef and better trained staff. Avoid if you don't want ripping off !

Nightmare visit. After a nice walk around the area we parked here and intended to have lunch. We parked in the designated parking area and attended spaces and visited the venue where they advised they were very short staffed. The food that arrived was awful and barely cooked. The staff looked rushed off their feet. Outside benches were broken and a safety hazard. Our main issue was on the return from the venue we received a parking notice fine of £60. There were no signs for parking warnings as this was the pubs car park. There was nothing to indicate you need to inform anyone of your arrival and none of the staff had enquired about our parking situation. When we called to query the fine the staff member was rude. We did did receive another call back and the venue had had numerous complaints about the same thing as many other honest visitors had been scammed by the venue/parking company for the same issue. Apparently you are supposed to give your car REG number to staff. How are people meant to know this if there are no signs or nobody advised you of this? Is this intentional deception or genuine errors? if this is a venue error/staff issue then anyone affected should be refunded. There are much better venues in the area so i would advise to avoid at all costs if this is how they treat paying customers. venue was also very dirty and unclean

It's sometimes hard to be objective and make sure the review is balanced, but if you can find the good in this pub then you're doing better than we did. It was awful right from the beginning and we should have known better than persevere. There were very few folk in there as well, and that was the second warning as it should be busier than that on a weekend. The waitress was as miserable as sin and couldn't hear what we were saying. No wonder, because chef had his 80's playlist blaring out from the kitchen so loud that no one could hear anyone else speak. The food took an ice age to arrive and when it did it wasn't worth the wait. Tiny portions with hardly any chips and it was colder than a corpse in a snowstorm. It takes real skill to get triple cooked chips burnt and cold at the same time. Over £50 for two cold stingy bar meals and a couple of drinks is just taking the mick. Needless to say we now understand why it was empty.

The roast beef Sunday dinner was nice enough although as a table of four we had the same amount of veg as the table of two next to us. The vegetarian roast dinner was just vegetables and nothing else which was disappointing. The Yorkshire puddings were great although there wasn't enough gravy for my liking so I asked for more and we were charged £3.50 for it!

I’ve ordered from here multiple times and this was the first time my order came late. I’m not upset though as they gave me a piece of cake to make up for it, I do live out of the way a bit so I understand the lateness 🤗

We stayed for a weekend. Room 5 was very comfortable and quiet. We ate both evenings in the restaurant. It was lovely to eat fresh food all homemade as opposed to processed freezer food often served in pubs. Staff were friendly and very professional. Vegetarian choice was good and breakfast had good options. We would like to thank all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable
