This lovely little place has a lot of potential. So stylish and quaint. The staff are always polite and very accommodating. My favourite deal for £4.75 is the savoury cream tea (or a black coffee in my case). A choice of Davidstow cheese or blue cheese and walnut with a small pot of both apple and onion chutney is lovely. My only niggle is the freshness of the scones. This time they were a tad dry? Other than that I loved sitting on the high stool watching the world go by 🙂

Lovely little independent teashop. We had cream tea for two and it was delicious. The scones were light and fluffy full of fruit. We brought two to take away as a treat later on too. Service was fab and would definitely go back again

One of the best cream tea’s to date, both of us loved the scones. I’m not a massive fan of tea but even I enjoyed the brew. The wife was over the moon with the tea pot and the little cups it came with. Couldn’t have asked for more. Service great and staff very polite.

Sweet servers. Lovely lunch. Everything you want and expect from a quaint café. They did forget that we wanted a sweet after our sandwich, after waiting a while for them to come over we decided to leave it, but this is readily forgiven when the servers are so nice. I had a soy vanilla chai latte which was yummy, and partner had a mocha frappe which he enjoyed. We had a cheese and tomato toastie and a coronation chicken sandwich and were happy with both. Would definitely return.

Passed this bakery whilst walking in the rain and the beautiful cakes in the window were a must have pick me up in the rubbish weather. Great deal of 4 slices for £10 and they were huge slices!!! Chocolate and caramel cake (delicious but very sweet) and a delightful berry and mint. Perfectly delicate taste of mint and so light and beautiful. Will Definitely be back again!

What a lovely place this is and run by such friendly, efficient staff who value their customers. The cream tea is to die for.. the jam... omg the jam.. Scones fresh and huge and the tea served in super, quirky teapots also if more hot water or milk is needed we were told to just ask...how refreshing. We have been in Looe for a week and visited everyday bar two when we were on long day trips away from Looe, my eldest son has insisited on it.... Other cakes too but not a massive selection for those who do not like a cream tea (my hubby!) place is top notch with a lovely clean loo as well, great when you have kids!!... Highly recommended and cant wait to come back. Thank you for proving Cornwall is the place for a proper cream tea :)

We visited the Kitchenside Bakery today, as we were looking for a place that did a cuppa and a scone! Although relatively small inside, the cafe had a very relaxed atmosphere and was spacious enough that you didn’t feel intrusive on others. Most importantly the quality of the Flat White, Hot Chocolate and Scones was fantastic, certainly the best we’ve had in the few days we’ve been in Cornwall. The staff were really friendly and the service was super quick (despite being full inside). Overall one of the little gems in Looe!

Stopped by twice on holiday to kitchenside. It's lovely inside but we took out both times; first for coffee (nice!) and secondly, for two scones with jam and cream which we had back at our cottage. £6 for two (plenty enough for four to have as dessert) and they were delicious. Generous servings of jam and cream too.

Discovered this lovely cafe whilst looking for a light bite in Looe the other day. My partner and I had tried several other places previously, but they were either closed or no longer serving food (it was around 4pm). When we found this cafe we noted that they advertised serving food until 5pm, but our previous experiences making us wary, we did double check that we could eat there before sitting down. The girl at the counter seemed unsure (perhaps she was new?), but the woman in the kitchen assured us that it wasn't an issue. We ordered toasties and when they came they were impressive: the bread wasn't the usual thin slices of bread, but instead big thick slices with a proportionate amount of filling. The overall look and feel of the place is traditional British tea shop - e.g. food is served on vintage crockery - but it is obvious that they are used to accommodating younger guests as there was a table with pictures for children to colour in and board games for families to play. We were very happy our other selections didn't work out and would come here again.

We popped in the Kitchenside Bakery by chance in the afternoon looking for a cream tea and were very pleased that we did. The cream tea was excellent using all locally sourced products - yummy homemade scones, Cornish clotted cream, Cornish jam and refreshing Cornish tea. A tantalising array of various homemade cakes were also on display and had we had time we may have sampled one or two.You could even smell fresh scones cooking away in the oven - heaven! The owners were very friendly and the atmosphere was most welcoming even though neither my Wife nor myself like Jazz. Called in here today ! Sat at a table and my partner ordered food! We ordered two lemonades to which the girl replied just take them from the fridge, there was no offer of a glass. The table we sat on was full of dirty crockery 15 mins and no one had cleaned the table. The girl then brings the toasties over and tries to balance them on the table instead of clearing. It was only when my partner asked her to clear them she did. Toastie was bland no cutlery given. There were three people working and the service was dreadful. Ironically they were looking for a waitress as a girl came in for an application form. Hopefully to replace the useless staff they have working there currently.

I arrived at the bakery before my wife and had sat down with something to eat and drink. My wife arrived 45 minutes before the closing time advertised on the door. The staff decided to start closing approx 40 minutes before the advertised closing time and then flatly refused to serve either myself or my wife despite me already being in the bakery and already consuming the food I had purchased. The staff clearly didn't know the time that the door showed to be the closing time and there was plenty of time for the order for the additional food and drink (only an extra cup of tea and a scone, nothing that required preparation). It was a very poor experience overall. A disappointing end to what should have been a pleasant visit to this tea shop. Whilst writing this i have observed a member of staff go and wash the closing time off of the door. There was no explanation offered for why they were closing earlier than shown.

Whilst visiting Looe, we popped in here on the off chance for a cream tea.It was so lovely - all home made cakes, with a daily choice of scones, that day we could have plain, fruit or blackberry and apple. The environment in there was lovely - and the cream teas we had were very tasty, the tea was very enjoyable too.

We visited this place on a gentle stroll back from the beach looking for a cream tea. It looked inviting but as soon as we entered it was clear that some kind of dispute was taking place between the staff and a group of customers. This transpired to be over the customers having brought their own picnic to eat with a cup of tea and charging their mobile phone. The staff were very professional despite strong provocation! After all the drama I was impressed with the choice of cakes and the large selection of tea on offer. I don't often find a decent decaf tea, but here I did. The cakes were large and the cream tea was lovely.I would eat here again without any hesitation - although I wouldn't recommend bringing your own picnic!!!!

Popped in for a coffee when staying in Looe and couldn't resist the gorgeous looking cakes. The chocolate brownies were amazing, so light and scrumptious. We'll be returning! Boys loved it too as between two poke stops

Found this place while in Looe and decided to have a cream tea. What a gem one of the best scones I've ever tasted ( and I have to admit I've tasted a few!!). The waitress assured me that they bake all their own cakes etc. They do light lunches hot & cold drinks as well. They also have a cafe & bakehouse called The Stables at Mount Edgcumbe in Torpoint in Cornwall where they sell local produce & homemade cakes so when we are in the area will have to give this a go.

What a gem! We had no idea where to go for lunch but chose the shed; a great choice! The steak was so good and the sole cooked to perfection. Great wine, appetisers and dessert to boot. Fantastic value and the service was great Thank you so much.

The staff were friendly, the service was prompt, the food was good. It's about as good as you could hope for from a family friendly restaurant at the price that it is.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.
