nice spot, with seating indoors & out. Great selection of cakes/pastries and a pretty good menu with a specials board. really nice that brunch options are served all day. I gave a lower score only because we were let down a bit by service & food quality. At the till there was a little confusion as they didn't have everything i ordered - but i thought sorted out until at the table realised i had been overcharged, which they did correct after going back! The food arrived quickly and looked good - but we had 2 dishes that turned out really very salty. I'm not sure if it was just a mistake, but it spoiled the hot food.

Plenty of staff so no queues, very efficient at keeping tables cleared and wiped down and staff generally very friendly and helpful. A nice cozy little cafe to have a meal, snack or drink, all reasonably priced. I thoroughly recommend the cheese and mustard straws. Delicious.

A quiet start to a Saturday morning breakfast service but the drinks and food were slow to appear. When they came it was an excellent coffee and the pancakes were good. The toilet was a mess one set of taps were broken and not very hygienic so it’s a 3 and a half out of five.

Wanted takeaway coffees and cakes. Stood by counter waiting to be served. No one else waiting, 4 members of staff behind the counter, Two on their mobiles one chewing gum. No one looked up, no one welcomed us, no one asked us what we wanted so eventually we walked straight back out

Although only living a 35 minute drive from Thorpeness, my wife and I have visited there several times before but this is our first time of dining at The Kitchen possibly because we have had difficulty finding a vacant table. If you've got a good appetite then this is the place to eat. I had the Kitchen Ploughman's and could not finish all of it. The piece of cheese was probably bigger than some of the pre-wrapped pieces you buy from supermarkets, likewise the piece of sausage roll and the sliced ham was most adequate and very tasty. All these were accompanied with an adequate sized mixed salad portion. The slice of, I guess 2 cms thick slice of wholegrain bread was cut to give two pieces and was accompanied with two pre-wrapped butter portions. We ate in the in-doors restaurant area which was clean and tidy and the staff were most friendly and welcoming and with a sense of humour.

Such a great place. Went mid morning fur just a drink but saw the food coming out of the kitchen and decided to go back for lunch. Delicious food, good service. We sat outside for our lunch which was great. Food selection is great and breakfast looked fab.

My family were so impressed with the Kitchen and the lovely food. My husband and I eat there on a regular basis. There is always an excellent choice of delicious food. Plus nothing is too much trouble if you want a variation to the menu because of a food allergy. Well done to Amanda, her fabulous team and the chef. 👏👏👏👏

We had a great brunch here whilst on holiday. Thorpeness itself is lovely for a walk and we enjoyed cooked breakfasts all round afterwards at The Kitchen. Friendly and efficient service.

We visited for coffee after walking on the beach with our dog, and fell in love with the place. The counter display was superb and we were spoiled for choice! The coffee was excellent, the welcome from staff was warm and genuine. We took a couple of scones home which were as large as our heads and superb! 10/10

Came across this cafe whilst on a walk from Aldeburgh. It was really busy but we managed to find a table. I had a lovely hot chocolate & my husband had a coffee. We shared one of the huge sausage rolls & a shortbread, there was such a huge selection of tasty food it was really hard to choose. Highly recommend.

Walked up to Thorpeness from Aldeburgh on new years eve and new years day. Just wanted to congratulate all the staff at the kitchen for coping with an extremely busy period but producing excellent quality food alongside prompt and pleasant service. Tables cleaned as you sat down, drinks and food arrived in good time and obviously freshly prepared. Particularly enjoyed the kitchen breakfast after the bracing walk ! Thoroughly recommend and will definitely continue to frequent whenever we are in the area

We have a holiday caravan 15 minutes from Thorpeness and pop along to the Kitchen most weekends we are at our place. I cannot fault it. The service is second to none. The food always comes out so quick and it is superb. The staff are friendly and helpful. We always bring our visitors with us and they always want to come back when they stay with us. Ps, dog always welcome.

It's years since we visited Thorpness and it hasn't changed a bit still as lovely and quaint. We decided to go to The Kitchen for lunch and what an amazing lunch it was. The cappuccino was the best l have ever tasted and the prawn open sandwich was absolutely delicious and the cheesy chips amazing. We haven't stopped talking about it since.Well worth a visit and great value for money, my husband and I will definitely be back again.

Stopped for lunch after a morning walk in the village. Enjoyed the large floured baps from the brunch menu filled with egg/bacon/sausage. Service was exceptionally quick and food reasonably priced. We sat putside but inside tables were available. Definitely recommend.

We have been visiting Suffolk for around a year now and came across the Kitvhen by accident. We now head out yo Thorpeness (which is lovely village with a lovely stoney, quiet beach). The coffee is great while the food is always good quality and quantity. Highly recommended!

Expensive but massive scones and pots of tea BUT unfortunately, even though there are lots of outdoor tables, dogs are allowed inside. While we were there one dog defecated on the floor, most of which was smeared up by the owner. And later on another dog, in spite of whining to it's selfish owner to go out, deposited a massive puddle on the floor which the owner knowingly ignored when they left. The next occupants of the table rested their feet in it. Urgh!!!
