The Kitchen Poole Park in Poole

I have tried this place a number of times because its closest place to my elderly mums flat. It looks so inviting but it is so disappointing every time!The food is expensive and bland and the most puzzling this is the tea! How can you not make a decent cup of tea?? Always a weak pot of gnats .... I have no idea what tea you use but its dreadful and probably cheap. Very annoying when it's almost £5 for half a pot !! Absolute rip off

Lovely setting but an abrupt waitress who was rushing and plonked down my tea and cake over the tray spilling it all, felt like she couldn't wait to get rid of me

Last time we visited this place seemed to have really improved but maybe it’s changed hands again? The food was limited, not great and overpriced and service was pretty poor. I know it’s tough in hospitality but wouldn’t go again. Visit Flirt in Bournemouth to see how to run a great cafe/bar

We stopped here for coffee and cake before our pedalo slot as that was all we had time for. Coffee was lovely and cakes were tasty. The billionaire shortbread was sooo good! Would come back again for sure. Would like to try out the food menu properly.

Beautiful spot on the picturesque lake. The food service and location were absolutely faultless. Natalie was very friendly and looked after us very well.

First and last time at this place. I am on Holliday. I decided to stop by because they have a great view to the water and I was expecting to have a great service as well. But it didn’t happen. The blond waitress that was serving me had a really bad attitude when I told her that my order was wrong. She toke the plate from me with bad manners and came back with the right order with a angry face. I came to relax and ended up having a horrible experience after this situation. The manager should train her team to know how to treat people better, because there's no point in having a great view if you don't provide good service

Considering the absolutely amazing location, this place has so much potential. The location, the building, the atmosphere and the staff are faultless, however the food and menu let it down at every stage. We went for breakfast but the menu was very limited and crazy expensive for what you got. In the past we’ve been able to order a more simple option such as scrambled eggs on toast but were told we couldn’t have anything that wasn’t on the menu. Disappointing considering they already served eggs and bacon. Instead we opted for what looked like beautiful homemade Victoria sponge but again, a big let down. The cake was stale and very expensive considering the quality. This place has so potential but the very limited menu and overpricing is letting it down so we won’t be returning. Fine if you want somewhere nice to have just a coffee with friends, just avoid the food. Such a shame!

It's a very nice cafe, we enjoyed it very much. You should especially ask for an iced Americano from Chris, who prepares coffee for us. It was the best I've tried in a long time.

TitleFood was good as was the service we received. Chris was serving us and he was excellent, a credit to your business. He had the answer to all the questions we asked. The place was covid safe and toilets were spotless. Look forward to returnimg

I was met at the door by Chris who was very effiencent and friendly. Covid restrictions were in place but they were explained to us by Chris. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was good too.

I went here the other afternoon with a couple of friends and so impressive with how well they enforce everything with Covid and the staff couldn’t of been nicer and more helpful, the food is sooo good! such a great go to place for lunch

Visited with a friend and our two girls. After ordering our food drinks and cakes for us and our children we successfully sat with our two 2 year olds and waited for our food. After a while of waiting my friends daughter was getting hungry. So to console her while waiting and trying to keep her sat still she gave her a small sandwich from a packed lunch prepared for later on. With that a woman working there marched over and said we aren’t to consume food from outside. After an unneeded apology from us and the explanation that we were just waiting for our food she marched off. And within a minute she was back aggressively telling us how it isn’t company policy without any other good reason. With no social distancing She again asked my friend to take the sandwich from her daughter. You can imagine the upset this caused! Iv never been so disgusted by restaurant staff in my life. She made such a scene that tables around us were staring at us. We were so embarrassed. If I hadn’t just spent £20 on quite frankly stale cold food which we barely ate half of, And the promise of cake for the children we would have just walked out. If you don’t want food brought in then make a sign. Or give a good reason why. Other than you obviously just don’t want children there. Our girls behaved beautifully and unfortunately I can’t say the same for that woman. A shame as the other staff were lovely.

My sister came to visit me down from north for the weekend after not seeing her for so long due to COVID19, so I decided to treat her to a late-ish lunch down Poole Park.We came at a busy time, but its a Saturday and the location is beautiful.So we expected that anyway..We were both so impressed the way the Kitchen staff handled social distancing inside as your ordering and waiting for drinks, not many places around here seem to care as much! even when being busy they all still managed to work together and deliver great service, the toilets were absolutely spotless and even had a little station inside were you could clean before and after use which is perfect and made me feel in some way 'safe' We both had a lovely lunch and coffee sat outside watching the water, with plenty to catch up on!Overall..an amazing experience followed by a great team!Keep it up 'The 'Kitchen' will definitely be returning.

We visited here with two small children, and were utterly disgusted we had ordered our food and drinks but it still had'nt arrived. After twenty minutes my two year old was starving so I took a small sandwich made earlier to console her and stop her from leaving the table due to covid. With this a member of staff approached me with no social distancing and in a aggressive manner, stated I was not allowed to feed my child with food not brought on the premises and to take it off her. As you can imagine my little girls face when I was asked to take it away from her. The member of staff then approached me repeatedly insulting me.I think this is outrageous how do you explain to a two year old they are taking a long time with our food !!I will never return to this place the food was stale and old. we are nervous enough about going out at the moment without members of staff bullying us! For attending to our small child needs.

We always enjoy visiting the kitchen ,excellent food and lovely coffee but most of all standards of hygiene are very high and most impressed to see that in the toilet you are able to sanitize before and after use and wish other eating establishments would follow this example ,you can definitely visit here with confidence.

Whilst awaiting my wife's treatment at the nearby hospital, I discovered this gem of a cafe. The Covid procedure was very well handled and I was served a very good coffee and a delicious Chocolate Tiffin. I noticed the staff were very attentive to customers' needs and the tables were regularly cleaned. The loo was spotless The views of the lake from the cafe were splendidI will return for a light lunch on my next visit

Very odd and very suspiciousSat outside on their tables - told it counts as takeaway and so no table service despite government rules at the moment meaning they should be. Toilets last cleaned on Wednesday afternoon according to the cleaning signatures (and it showed)Overall not taking the whole pandemic seriously at all, not least of which some dubious decisions around takeaway and flouting the law.I just hope they take kitchen hygiene laws more seriously than they do covid.Won't be returning

Nice location in Poole Park, overlooking the water. Nice to linger over food or a drink. Staff friendly and covid safe. We enjoyed coffee and cake. Generous portions of both.

A male staff member approached me and my mother in a very angry and confrontational manner. He had heard me voice my thoughts on why they didn't open until 10am, a private conversation with my mother. He continued to shout at me and would not go away even when asked to. I could only walk away and get back in my car. My mother who is 90 was very upset and frightened. This was totally unwarranted and this man actions need to be seriously looked at

Popped in for coffee with my mother and son and was greeted by a gentleman called Tom, he was extremely helpful throughout our visit, clearly talking us through their safety measures, finding us a table and making sure a high chair was clean and available. We were so pleased with the service we were receiving we ended up having food which was absolutely lovely. Will definitely be returning in the future!

The waitress was actively encouraging all customers to wear face masks. Her approach was firm and polite and made our visit feel covid safe and that we and our safety were valued. The food, pizza, was excellent. Can't recommend it high enough.

Visited here for breakfast, food was good and arrived quickly. The lady was very friendly and helpful talking through the Covid measures and ensuring masks were worn by all customers. Lovely views of the park and lake.

We ended up here unexpectedly. The owner/manager could not of been any more helpful in coping with a multitude of food allergies even with a reduced menu. We thank you.

Went to the outside ice cream shop but was closed as it was too early in the season. Went inside and were sold two small tubs of Kellysice cream.. charge was six pounds. Sorry wrip off time me thinks!

I come here every couple of months with my mum as it’s close to her work. It’s a lovely setting, really friendly staff, and tasty food, only problem is the price, it has constantly gone up I’ve toast couple of years and is VERY over priced. We had a salad most recently. £11.50, and to add chicken or a protein was £4. So making a simple chicken salad £15.50 which I think is silly. Even a prawn jacket potatoe is £9.50. Price review needed I think.

What a fabulous place to meet up with friends, family or as a couple. I have visited on a few occasions, for just a coffee, breakfast, lunch and have not been dissapointed. The food is really good and the service quick. I had lunch with friends last week group of 8 of us and Natalie looked after us, she was so efficient and courteous checking we all had what we needed and happy before she left us, as well as checking back later, nothing was too much trouble. We love visiting this place, its so relaxing.

Today my husband and I decided to get takeaway coffees so that we could sit in our car as the cafe was very busy. It was a cold very windy day and we were looking forward to a hot cup of coffee BUT what we got was a lukewarm cup of coffee. I realise that the cafe was very busy and it takes time to wait for the steamed milk to get hot, but our coffee was so lukewarm you could have bathed a baby in it!!!! Two large coffees cost £6 so we expect to have a HOT drink, I trust we don't get a repeat performance the next time we visit The Kitchen!!!! Having said all this, the staff are helpful and friendly, just make sure you get someone who knows how to make HOT milk ... even if they are busy!!!!

Popped in for a coffee after work and they were only 10 minutes from closing. The manager said it was no trouble and we were more than welcome to come in and relax with a coffee. Our waitress Natalie, was extremely friendly and made us feel so welcome.Not often you find service like this at the end of a busy day.Will definitely be back.Coffee and cakes were delicious too.Thank you xx

I popped in for lunch and didn't really know what I wanted. The young lady who served me (I think her name was Natalie) talked me through some if the items on the menu. She was very helpful and courteous. I shall definitely be back again soon!

What a lovely lunch, service with the biggest smiles Natalie and Chris were both very attentive. We all enjoyed our food, from soup to pasta and of course delicious cake. Matched all our dietary needs. We will be back to visit with more family.

Went for a nice walk in the rain and stopped off here for some soup and a coffee. Nice view, buggy friendly, decent food.

Visited with Mum for light lunch. Although only midday it was quite busy but found a suitable table. As cold outside fancied something warming so we both had soup.

Come here every sat for a veggie breaki which is one of the best in the area. Super friendly and smiley service from young Natalie and Tom every time we come in!! Only thing I’d like to see is the management let dogs in as we would spend more if that were the case, lots of dog walkers we see around the park agree. Great place to come with kids free parking and great views!!

We visit poole park and the kitchen at Poole park regularly and always find the service to such a high standard, Natalie and Tom are always smiling and extremely helpful. The food is nice we always have the veggie breakfasts. Very pram friendly as we have a 5 week old son. As you are within a park where people walk dogs it would be great if you would start allowing dogs into the kitchen and the ark rather than only allowing outside seating.

Visitied today to meet with friends, found a table, it was grubby, but we were a quick turn round from it's previous occupants. Coffee was ordered, 30 mins later we approached the counter to enquire, but before we could we were told there would be a 10 min wait, we pointed out we had already been waiting 30 mins, we waited abother 10. They were busy, stretched beyong their limits, but an understanding of actually how long it was taking from order to delivery of coffee would have been good. It would not have been possible to pop in for a quick coffee today.

Visited here today with my family. Restaurant was very busy but we managed to find a table. Husband went up to order and was warned of a ten minute wait for our 2 drinks and piece of cake. Staff were friendly. Drinks and cake arrived. Unfortunately half way through drinking tea, I noticed a short curly black hair floating around in the milk which was definitely not from anyone in my family! Subsequently this put me off drinking the rest of my drink :-(

Tom really stood out to my father and I when taking our order at the till. Really sweet and efficient! (His name badge said Tom Tom, want to make sure I got the right person. Will be coming back again soon!

My husband and I visited The Kitchen for coffees on a lovely sunny January day and went to sit outside. The tables were filthy and there was lots of broken glass on the ground near the table next to us which I presumed may have been from seagulls feeding off the uncleared plates. I politely asked the young man behind the counter if our table could be wiped An day he agreed to do so. Unfortunately, this was not done. In the meantime I collected our coffees and drank them amongst the mess and debris. Another young man came out to clear the glass but failed to clean our table. I asked to speak to the manager who informed us that they had been under staffed and couldn’t be everywhere. Her response was very defensive and we felt, inadequate. We were offered no solution or recompense. As locals, we will not be recommending The Kitchen or using it again, sadly.

Came in today to have lunch with a friend had a very pleasant girl called kelly at the till who was very helpful to get me everything I wanted, our server was called Tom and he made sure we had everything we ordered and came and checked we where okay they both made the visit extremely pleasant and will be very excited to return again

Had a lovely first visit to the kitchen Poole park, having lived in Poole for years it was surprising I’ve never visited. Lovely atmosphere inside, great staff - special thanks to Natalie who served me the hot drinks and explained the different drinks to me, she was incredibly patient and polite. Would love to go again and try the food next time.

Heading over to the Lighthouse for a matinee performance by BSO & was very early so decided to head into the park for a light lunch & coffee:)

Lovely location, friendly staff, clean establishment, quick service, average coffee (sometimes the flat white is more like a latte), bland cakes. Banana cake - too sweet, tasted artificial and was dry. Black forest muffin - if I closed my eyes I wouldnt know what it was, it didn't taste of chocolate or cherry. Will go back for drinks and pleasant surroundings though!

I came into the kitchen the other day due to visiting family in Poole and was served by Tom Tom he was very attending and friendly. He helped me choose something of the new menu, very bubbly character and looks like he enjoys his job!!! which is rare to find these days,

Decent place been a few times, Park for free nearby, views over the lake, nice atmosphere, friendly helpful staff (well trained), food menu isn’t extensive but offers enough for most people to be able to have something decent for lunch instead of a drink and sandwich.

Ordered avocado with eggs and bacon on toast, which arrived cold and bland - not to mention the fact the avocado had raw red onion and tomatoes mixed in with it? (Dish was sent back)

I do not understand why this council run cafe, cannot designate a small part of the inside for dogs and their owners. There are no options for staying undercover when it’s raining, which means the multiple dog owners that use the park are unable to use it. The rules for allowing dogs inside cafes are left open for interpretation so why has the decision been made against dogs having access here?

We went to Poole for a few nights. We stopped in once for a coffee and a cake and once for breakfast before we left. Good coffee, quick service but you expect that out of season. Breakfast was varied with nice American pancakes and eggs benedict. Also very clean and comfy with a relaxing view of the lake. I suspect very busy in summer.

Without a doubt the best veggie breakfast in Poole. I have had it twice now and both times were spot on perfect. Not only that but great coffee and a great view. Nothing else need to say.

We stopped for a coffee after a walk round the park. Its a very light and airy restaurant overlooking the lake which must be even nicer if its warm enough to sit outside. The service came with a smile. The coffee tasted good and was reasonably priced

In particular would like to thank Chris at The Kitchen. My friends and I go every week with our babies after our class. He is always charming, efficient and extremely helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. The Kitchen is a lovely place with great food and friendly staff.

A pleasing venue overlooking the lake in the park. Snack meals were hot and well presented with the drinks served hot by friendly and efficient staff. A nice selection on the menu all fresh and well served.

We have eaten at the kitchen before, but today we called in for drinks. There was a lovely young man Tom who took our order, and suggested extras like the large sections of cakes. We decided on deluxe hot chocolate and a flat white. Lewis who served our drinks had a lovely smile and was very polite, the drinks were lovely and hot - I believe Chelsea made these. There was another person we feel we need to mention Natalie, she was very busy cleaning tables and serving drinks, all in all a great team who seem to work together to give all customers a lovely experience in great surroundings. We will definitely be returning. Thank you

Just enjoyed a really good lunch here with a friend. From the minute we arrived Chris made us very welcome. All the staff were very pleasant. Especially Chris and Nathalie. Our lunch was all freshly prepared and possibly the best ciabatta I have ever had. Best combination is a great location, delicious food and great service. I think the Kitchen nailed it today! We will be back.

I was with colleague on business and witnessed the owner of this place being racist and aggressive to two Scottish people. He told them their money was fake when he had not checked it. He then proceeded to threaten the elderly man saying I will ban you as Scottish money is all fake. Will never return. Ps food was awful.

Never previously visited here before but had been recommended. My family were down visiting from the lake district & came down to the beach for the day.

I stopped in at the kitchen with a friend and had a delightful time looking out over the water. I was served by two young ladies named Ellie and Chelsea whom were both very friendly and welcoming! I will certainly be returning again.

Would not go again - asked for and paid for 2 scoops of ice cream. Was shocked to see the tiniest one scoop, said “I’ve paid for two scoops” and was told “that is two scoops”. Suppose that’s what happens when you have kids running the show!

Fantastic view 2 he parking nearby. Easily accessible by all abilities. Dogs welcome on terrace. Friendly staff great menu and you can eat ice creams purchased from ice cream parlour as it's the same company. Just wonderful

We decided to stop for tea and cake, we were served by a lovely lady called Gaynor, who was very helpful informing of places to visit for the remainder of our holidays. I often call into this establishment for lunch or sometimes breakfast, food is always good and plentiful. Staff are good, particularly Gaynor who is really lovely. Location is a bonus too, overlooking Poole Park Lake and has outside eating areas as well as inside dining.

Beautiful venue but a shame about the noise. Difficult to hear your friends speaking so you either give up or shout louder. Good welcome and friendly staff,. Only had a coffee and a cake. Perhaps they could open up the upstairs floor for a quieter space.

All the staff are friendly and helpful especially Chris who is exceptional. We are regular visitors to the kitchen. Come rain or shine it’s a pleasant place to visit. They are about to open the upstairs area of the restaurant which we are excited about as this will offer a lovely view of the park as well as offering additional seating as it does tend to get busy around lunchtimes and holiday times. Food is lovely. Well worth a visit

Visited recently with family for lunch. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. We were served by Ellie, who was charming,another very helpful gentleman, whose name I did not catch and various other staff. All were very keen to make our visit perfect.

Called here for a snack while we were in Poole for the day. Plumped for the mozzarella cheese, plum tomatoes and basil toasted ciabbata with side salad. It was delicious and washed down with a massive pot of tea.

Recently visited The Kitchen last minute with my son on a walk round Poole Park last Saturday. Food slightly pricey but great quality and worth the money. Friendly and speedy service by all, we were served by Natalie and Kelly who were very helpful and bubbly, as were the other staff on shift. Will be visiting soon with the rest of the family!

Today I visited the kitchen Poole park, what a delightful visit I had got severed by the lovely team, Natalie was soo helpful on the till seemed very happy to work also gaynor was very chatty when she brought my food over also Lewis was such a nice guy when he brought my drink over only had positive things today and brightened up my day had such a present visit will definitely come again
