The Kitchen in Stroud

What a wonderful place! We were staying in the area and came here twice. The weather was pretty dreadful but as soon as you walked through the door it was such a warm welcoming interior and the lady who I believe owns it was just so lovely, friendly and very welcoming to two wet walkers and our dog. The coffee was excellent and our dog even got treated to dog biscuits. We shall definitely return... Xx

Booked afternoon tea for 6 of us. What a delight! Sandwiches, cakes, tea, coffee and service were top drawer. Definitely worth a visit. We will certainly be returning.

Very nice place and lunch was fine but I was a little disappointed that my blue light card was not accepted despite it been clearly advertised on their website and their sister restaurant in nailsworth accepting it when I last visited. Other than that was a nice lunch.

Stopped for lunch last Saturday. Great atmosphere. Cappuccinos always the best! Had some focaccia/ pizza to start with, then a tuna melt, some chips and a slice of their amazing brownies!

What a little Gem! We moved nearby recently and exploring places to eat we stopped here for lunch. The staff are extremely friendly and the lunch was superb, freshly cooked light, delicious pasta, really authentic Italian food washed down with a lovely glass of wine! Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

I loved "The Kitchen" b4 it was bought by the new people. All the food was homemade on site when it was the " The kitchen" Now as the Amalfi, oh my days, terrible. I got a ham salad, as wanting nothing major. Plastic cheap ham, piles of lettuce and nothing much else. Nothing homemade. Cakes etc were all bought in. Looked nice but pre made off site. Not even the scones made on site. Very very over priced for what u get. I was in on a Saturday Lunch and nobody in except for me and one other lady. Don't go. Save ur money. Pop up to Henry's at the top of high St. Soooo much better food.

This restaurant is a gem in the middle of the Minchinhampton countryside. Sylvia who runs it was a delight and the food felt like a big warm hug- comforting , delicious and like your Italian Mama made it with love! Definitely a must try and I’m only sorry it isn’t open for dinner.

Delicious food well presented. Delightful and attentive staff. Gorgeous interior. Staff went the extra mile to ensure our anniversary lunch was unforgettable. Chicken mozzarella snd pesto Paninis were sublime.

Had a lovely lunch at this charming cafe. Beautifully decorated with a cosy feel. Sylvia, was friendly and welcoming and by the time we left she felt like a friend. Definitely sit in one of the bay windows and watch the world pass by as you delve into some delicious treats!

What an absolute gem. Went to Cucina di Amalfi while camping in the area and were welcomed by the most friendly owner Sylvia who is unmistakable Italian. The food was perfect (risotto with asparagus) and I really couldn't resist the chocolate cake that was made by Sylvia herself. We were treated to a delicious Limoncello with our cappuccino and a big hug when leaving. There seemed to be quite a few locals that are regular customers, which is always a great sign of a very good establishment. I'm almost tempted to move to the area. Apparently the family has another Italian restaurant in Stroud that's open in the evenings and we will definitely have to try that when we're in the area next time. We have just been for a visit to this really nice cafe. The service we received was so friendly and helpful. Also the coffee was really good, and my companions breakfast was apparently fantastic. We would certainly visit again!

We loved the Kitchen prior to it's purchase by Amalfi, but Amalfi's other restaurant in nearby Nailsworth is one of our favourite local restaurants so we were sure they would maintain the great food and friendly atmosphere we had experienced previously at the Kitchen, and they have! The food is great and the atmosphere is even more welcoming than it was as the Kitchen. It will definitely be one of our go-to places for weekend brunch. We haven't had dinner there yet, but given our experience at their other restaurant and looking at the menu, we are looking forward to trying it!

Visited this lovely cafe/restaurant today with my friend and had a very warm welcome from Giulia and Laura; delicious cappuccino and flapjack. My friend asked for gluten free cinnamon toast and it was served promptly- nothing was too much trouble. Sat in their pretty dining area and enjoyed the atmosphere. This very pretty cafè/ restaurant, was such a lovely place for our family lunch out, we were greeted with such a friendly atmosphere coming in and had brilliant service all throughout our meal. There was a selection of authentic Italian dishes which we all chose- they were delicious and our very kind host explained to us what each dish was . There was also a wide range of panninis, baguettes, sandwiches and light bites aswell as a lovely selection of cakes and drinks to chose from. Overal our experience was such a treat!!

Having frequented this cafe in Minchinhampton when it was called The Kitchen and run by the wonderful Assumpta we were reticent to return now she has sold up n retired but my old school friend was visiting with her husband n wanted to return to Minch whilst with us. We booked for lunch and on arrival, whilst it wasn’t busy on a Wednesday lunchtime, we were greeted by the new wonderful hostess - Sylvia. What a lovely lady, so friendly and chatty with a beautiful genuine Italian accent. The cafe started to fill up after our arrival. The cake display was great n she happily explained each one to us. We all ordered sandwiches or paninis with coffee n cake to follow. The food was delicious, well presented n filling n the cakes were yummy! We will definitely return.

Booked for afternoon tea for my mother's 80th birthday and couldn't have had a better experience. Food was delicious, plentiful and a wide choice of fillings on sandwiches and Sylvia proved to be the perfect host. She treated us like old friends and made a real fuss of my mother and nephew ensuring we had an absolutely delightful afternoon. Would recommend to anyone.

My retirement lunch could not have been improved in any way. Our food was as recommended by Sylvia and as delicious as she described it. Her warmth and goodwill enhanced the experience many fold. We will be back.

I came whilst waiting for my car to be repaired a few days ago and had some breakfast here, the food was delicious but the service really stood out to me. I was served by a lovely and kind lady who spoke to me whilst i was alone, you are not often met by such warm people when going for food nowadays :)

What an amazing place, went there with my work colleagues for lunch. We didn’t book a table and Silvia was very kind to squeeze us in as it was a very busy day for the cafe! The food is amazing, especially the Lamb shank, so much attention to details on each plate ( I kept looking over at other tables and what their food looks like - one word - DELISH). Service was so friendly and professional, something that many places lack. Will be back, highly recommend this place.

Every dish we had looked fab and was so good - especially the turkey dish on the special’s board! Best I’ve ever eaten! I absolutely loved the brunch at Cucina di Amalfi. The staff were very friendly and easygoing. We felt completely looked after! The Vegetarian full english brunch was amazing, and the raspberry almond cake to die for. I would have gone for another slice if the portion wasn’t so big!😍 Highly recommend.

Before new ownership this cafe used to be thriving hub of the community. Sadly I was disappointed by the coffee and the hiked up prices which may explainwhy it was almost emptyat peak time. It used to be hard to get a table without pre booking.The staff were attentive but maybe too attentive, we felt under pressure to order food which we didn't want. Very sad as this was such a lovely cafe when I visited in the past.

Lived in this area for 65 years but this was my first visit. Very impressed. From the outside it looked like a small cafe/ restaurant, but upon entering we were very impressed with how spacious and light it was. Very quick personal service to take our order and our order arrived promptly. The quality of the breakfast I had was very good. I hope one day we can check out their lunches !
