Totally brilliant place for great food and fantastic atmosphere. Staff go out their way take sure you have great experience. Portion sizes are great. Drinks are good. Entertainment in place varies and always lifts the atmosphere. This place is a bar and grill...come entertaining venue....but its also one of the best places I've been for great night!! 💯 per cent! Top marks

My husband ordered steak pie asked if the potatoes could be swapped with chips and told no that wasn't possible you had to buy a separate portion, also ordered macaroni and cheese, it came in the smallest little bowl with about 10 little tubes of pasta, definitely not with the £9/10 price tag, we waited about half an hour for our food and it was microwaved food definitely won't be back

Food is lovely and so are the staff, also a dog friendly place as well

Just had the steak pie and my missus had the Balmoral chicken, there must be a change of chef as both meals were terrible

Called here last week with my wife for a meal. The meal was adequate, but we were rather dismayed when we tried to get our “afters”, as we were informed it was too late. I wish staff would have had the decency to let us know. Obviously we will not return, as a little courtesy goes a long way these days.

Went for lunch/ dinner with my mum and sister and all our food was 5/5 Really good service and going back next week. I had the bacon and cheese burger. My sister got the fish which was fresh fish.

We chose the Kirkhouse inn for our meeting place after our visit to the Daldowie Crematorium as it had a good reputation for service and food, also it has a car-park. Mr J Burns.

Had lunch food was ok nothing better than before the new owners took over, bit pricey for the portion size! The 2 male staff were friendly enough. Wouldn't go out my way to rush back tbh.

The food was vile. Mac and cheese had no flavour. The pizza was undercooked. Sorry. But bring back the old chef.

I can only score the bar on drinks selection. I'm here on a Thursday afternoon so atmosphere is dead. Drinks 'selection' is another matter though when amstel is the best 'choice'. Really miserable range of draught beers. I don't think I'll be back for this reason alone. Poor.

Absolutely discrimination when I come in with my baby girl and my partner. We just wanna order beer and what..if we have a child we need order food...what is that? Why if I'm not hungry I need order food ? Why I need order food if I'm with baby and If not I don't need! Absolutely cheeky and discrimination parents when I just wanna spend time outside and drink one beer I need order food is funny...I don't wanna be drunk I just wanna one beer if is 26 degrees outside.

Attended with my daughter for a birthday meal and drinks. Service was great and staff was pleasant, food was yummy ty.

Got table at 1.20, ordered starter n main. Start was lovely didn't wait long main was so so. We then waited 20 mins for plates to be removed after we had finished another 10 plus mins to actually be asked if we wanted dessert. Daughter ended up going and asking. No idea what was going on, but jeez it was really poor service.

Was in last night for my works night out, had a great time staff were amazing & friendly, food was lovely, will definetly be back. I left my car in the car park over night, returned this morning to a full flat tyre 🙈 not the Kirkhouse fault, i had a puncture, staff tried to help, even offered me a lift, they were fantastic at helping me. Thank you so much for your help 😁

Food is very basic Mac and cheese the sauce is like powder and the stake pie the gravy is like water. The menus we where give was crumpled up and marks all over them and the parking is very small spaces. Won't be back as the food is just like very cheap pub food

A family of 16 all for dinner, food was amazing and atmosphere was amazing aswell, our waiter MJ Caldwell was outstanding, and great with his customer service skills to my 2 kids . Definitely be back

My two friends and myself had a great day here for lunch and drinks. The food was good and the staff very friendly and attentive. Special mention for MJ our waiter and barman. He was so funny and very helpful. Thanks MJ for making our day special. Would not hesitate to go back.

Service was amazing. Starters were delsih, mac n cheese was average (could taste the powdered cheese sauce), pepperoni pizza came out with no pepperoni on but was rectified immediately, had to ask for the sauce for cajun chicken. Drinks were ok priced.

Very very disappointed ordered scampi with fries and tartar sauce and any other bar kitchen would serve with slice of lemon and tartar sauce but not kirkhouse had to ask for tartar to be told don't think we have any sorry eh sorry why is it on menu?????????? 🤔

Amazing food good sized portions! Food came within 20minutes would definitely recommend!

I ordered Chilli corn carne and it came cold. I poked my finger into the middle and it was freezing. The dish was taken away and returned with the same finger hole in it so obviously had just been microwaved. So again I stuck my finger in the middle and still cold. So had to wait for a fresh dish to be made. £50 for 2 mains and a desert. So obviously the mishap wasn't reflected in the price. I'll give it a miss next time.

Visited today (19th June) for an impromptu Father’s Day lunch with my dad. Despite being fully booked they managed to seat us with a warm, polite welcome. Both service & food were exemplary and nothing was too much bother for the staff. First time being here & will definitely be back. Note to management/owners… hope your staff are paid their worth as they really made this visit for us. First class customer service 👌🏼

Took a while to get food then awhile to pay but overall food was good

Decent pub food. Good portions. Reasonable prices. Table was a wee bit sticky, but easily solved by changing the cleaning routine and could do with a wee bit of redecorating .Good service, nice relaxed atmosphere and will definitely be back.

Good local venue with no nonsense food offerings. Try the steak pie. The only gripe was that the waiting staff preferred to deal with another table rather than us. They arrived 20 minutes after us but were served their drinks and food before us. Asking for our bill fell on deaf ears as the waiting staff prioritised the "other table". I had to go to the bar and pay . . . Was asked to wait whilst the waiting staff tended to the drinks for the "other table". Maybe the management needs to employ more staff or train the existing ones on customer service.

Ordered two bowls of lentil soup and got two child portions and was cold and was not enough soup for the roll. It was disgusting.

Booked a last minute get away to celebrate my friend finishing uni and to have some bestie time. What a lovely time we had. The new bar at the back, which was never there previously is delightful, cozy, sumptuous decor and food was so delicious! Had such a good sleep too. Bedroom was clean and simple and mattress super comfy. Staff lovely. My only complaint, my stay was too short! I’ll definitely be back! Thanks so much guys if you read this! Loved it! X

Went out for a quiet evening with a family member when majourley disturbed by a loud male who is known to staff. The male shouting and swearing while others (even children )are trying to have a quiet meal reported to staff but never seen this addressed and he continued resulting in us having to leave as nothing was addressed . Very poor from the staff team.

First time in the Kirkhouse in a while and won't be back, tried to order the two course carvery, had the starters then went for the roast, no potatoes left and the honey roast ham was bits of leftovers and the silver side was all burnt offerings this was at five o'clock and the carvery got closed because they had been busy. Tried to stay for a couple of drinks but it was so cold that every one had their coats on ,drunk up and went to the Clacken way overpriced £4.75 a pint Clacken £3.40 get your act together and turn the heating on

my sister booked a table for 20 people for Thursday 13th January after we said goodbye to our father. The minute we walked in the bar maid Lyn came over to us and we said that we have a reservation Lyn proceed to tell us that there was no tables booked with a attitude. My niece came out the family car and stumbled over a step at the front door and Lyn made a comment that she was too drunk and she would not be serving her. Then Lyn decide to say to my nephew that him and his friends where taken drugs in the toilet when they where just back from a funeral. service was shocking concerning the place was empty. definitely won't be back.

Great day/night food & drink was fantastic and reasonable prices and the staff couldn’t be any nicer so helpful..Dj was great to had every song we asked her to play.Such a great day/night could not fault it for anything..That good we went back 2 days later for lunch and wasn’t disappointed again food was lovely 👌👏🏻

Went on Sunday with the family, had a few starters which were really nice, would definitely change the bowls the starters are served in as makes it difficult to eat with them being so small, also a dressing on the salad would complete the dish, the carvery was absolutely delicious 😋 the roast beef was so tender and pink, really enjoy it, and the kids enjoyed the pizza a wraps, overall very pleasant, and the staff were lovely too

We live down the road from here but hadn't been since before covid. When we did go we found it was under new management so we were a little bit wary. Since then we've been quite a few times and I would say its just a different atmosphere from before. Its much more welcoming. All the staff are lovely (Joan, Lynn and Lauren I think) and you can tell they are doing their best to make you happy. There always seems to be a manager or supervisor there which I like and the manager works too rather than being a figure head. The menu doesn't have a great deal of choice for me (but I've always found something) but I think they're probably still working out what people like best. Last last time we went they had a special of quesadillas (bbq pork or chicken but pork was best) which were totally amazing and you got loads of them with a huge salad!!! Well done to the kitchen staff (JJ, Jerry, Kyle) for that. I would say its totally worth a go if you're in the area. Its very clean (men's toilets always have water on the floor which isn't so nice), you wont find more accommodating staff, the prices are reasonable and the food that I've had has been good.

Dylan was our server and he had great service was very friendly and good at his job! Me and my mam have been here twice now while I’ve been purchasing a car locally and it was a great place to come and eat. I had the vegan burger and vegan wrap and they were both great. Prefer the burger in my opinion. My mam had the spicy chicken pizza and the spicy burger and she loved them both. Portion size was huge! All round great place to visit

Visited the Kirkhouse today after my dads funeral to enjoy a nice meal with family after a sad morning however the whole thing was a shambles from start to finish. Service was very slow, took 15 mins to have drink orders taken and about 25 minutes for food orders to be taken which waiting staff were then in a rush to get quickly moving on before people had even finished telling their order. Food took a further 45+ minutes to come out with steak pie coming with chips (menu only says mash), Mac n Cheese burger having mayonnaise (again not stated on menu - allergy issue), sliders all being the same (no jalapeños, no cheese sauce, just burger and mayonnaise), chicken being absolutely solid etc. Several orders were sent back due to this, when steak pie came back out with the mash it was cold as staff have clearly just put the steak pie aside for 10/15 mins while making the mash then plated it up without heating the pie. Mac and Cheese burger also took over 20 minutes before staff decided to let us know they would just take it off the bill and not cook it which wasn’t any good to us as we were completely unaware and had been waiting for this. We were alerted that someone had walked out of the kitchen earlier that day and we did also see another table behind us walking due to the poor service. The manager took 4 meals off the bill (which is very poor considering 1 meal and sides we never received and several were uneaten) however we explained this wasn’t really good enough as we had prebooked this and they were fully aware they had a table of 16 coming in advance. 6 people from our party went for food elsewhere afterwards. Overall a very poor experience and was absolutely gutted to have that end to an already sad day. I can understand now why everyone says the kirkhouse has gone downhill as it never used to be like this. Would unfortunately never recommend again until management sort out their issues and take a proper look at why customers and staff are walking out.

Food was disgusting, ordered steakpie and mash - came out with chips and wasnt told about the change, the meat was chewy and the pastry was undercooked. My friend ordered the mac and cheese and pasta was overcooked and very bland. Even when we had sat down at first we ordered drinks then we were clearly still looking at the BASIC menu when we were asked 3 separate occasions if we were ready to order. Then came to take our main plates away and was then asked from Joan very abruptly if we would move as a party was coming in. Which was not our problem as a party should have been reserved in the first place. The kirkhouse is an absolute joke of a place and we will not be returning ever again. Service was awful i do not recommend this place atall. AVOID !!!!!!

I was in the Kirkhouse at weekend, staff were very pleasant & helpful also had a lovely meal, there were four in my company & all had a enjoyable time, the manager keeps a good bar with no problems 👍

This once was a place that I regularly enjoyed dining in. Tonight my experience of the place was awful!! Customer service from the young girl was lovely however she was rushed of her feet whilst the "manager" was sitting down. The main was very unpleasant and far too spicy. The manager never came over to offer exchange or anything. Very poor service will not be back.

New Menu is awful, no prawn cocktail, no cajun chicken, loads taken off menu. We ordered black grilled chicken salad and supposedly home made coleslaw, plate came, tiniest breast of chicken, no sauce, miserable wee bowl of lettuce, and the whole plate looked empty, had to ask for peppercorn sauce,had to buy it,had to buy chips, asked where the homemade coleslaw was? Girl went to find out, didn't come back, sat waiting for cutlery for ages, peppercorn sauce arrives, chips finally arrive, now chicken is cold but chips boiling.....bring back the other staff,the other menu and sack the manager cos the staff all run around looking petrified of him. That's why I didn't complain, we'll never be back.oh chicken n salad? ×2 and 2 cokes = £28.

Our prawn cocktail starter was nice but waited for Sunday roast which I wasn't very complained and it was taken away and we were given fresh roast dinner. It wasn't the best roast we've had. But we were given our meals and drinks for free. I would go again but not order the Sunday roast dinner.

Booked a table for drinks for 6 people. I understand that due to Covid it was table service for drinks but the service and length of time to be served was shocking. After asking one barmaid for a round of drinks we were told she would be right however she didn’t return. 40 mins later we got served and had a drink. The place wasn’t overly busy and seemed to be a few staff members however they were either too busy chatting or the male staff member flirting with the younger customers. We had a lengthy wait for every round. We were left disappointed with our visit as we have previously had many enjoyable nights out in the pub but sadly won’t be returning.

Enjoyable lunch break meal with my grandchildren. Reasonable prices with great portions.

I was passing through Shettleston for work and popped in for a quick meal. I don't review often - but I couldn't let this pass. I didn't have any expectations and was very pleasantly surprised. For a pub, I thought the food was very, very good. The service was great and it was very comfortable. I dined alone and was made to feel very welcome and not at all awkward. I will definitely be returning when I'm next in the area.

Been eating in the kirkhouse my whole life but never again. Since it’s been taken over it’s went right down hill. When my drink finally came the guy said one for the boy and handed me it. I might have short hair but quite obviously female. It’s 2021! Not one attempt of an apology. Not inclusive or welcoming. Then the kids meal came out 20 mins before the adult. So child now fed and hyper while we are trying to eat ours. Then stupidly ordered a pint and waited over 20 mins, which would have been fine if it wasn’t for the fact that there two tables in and 4 members of staff. Absolutely ridiculous. I’m gutted it’s the end of an era.
