NO VISITAR! : )

Arrived at 4.15 pm on Wednesday 8th November for a coffee and cake. Before we could enter, the owner told us he was closing due to low numbers. We said "we are here"and he then announced the coffee machine had been shut off and was being cleaned. Finally he said come back another day. This business is advertised to stay open until 6pm. A very poor show and the owner's attitude to regular customers, which we are, left much to be desired

Favourite cafe in my local area. Staff are consistently pleasant and professional, even during busy times. Lovely interiors and a great outdoor seating area complete with flowers. I love their coffee and, although I haven't tried much of their food, what I have had was high quality. It's expensive but, to me, worth it for the positive experience.

We have been visiting this cafe for 9 years since moving to Glasgow . We keep returning because it has a lovely vibe and staff are friendly and welcoming . Sadly our last visit (hopefully a one off ) with family was very disappointing . The outside seating area was empty so we moved one chair to make a table for four . Your waiter came out and without saying hi or welcoming us told us off for moving the furniture . His explanation was that you are redesigning your outside space which made no sense at all . We were made to feel like naughty children which did not make for a pleasant visit . This is so disappointing after being such loyal customers.I do wish to point out that every other visit has been a good experience . Staff training required perhaps .

I was looking for somewhere to have a coffee with my friend and I had my baby with my in the pram, my baby was desperately due a feed and there wasn’t much else in the area so I thought I’d give this cafe a go. As soon as I came in the door with my pram the man gave a look of disgust, almost like “you can’t bring that baby in here!” Now I do understand it is a small shop, but I have been in smaller cafes with my baby and the owners have been more than accommodating especially as my baby needs fed. I felt unwelcome, so I turned around and headed for the nearest Starbucks, were I could enjoy a coffee and feed my baby without judgement. Sorry if my baby killed the “vibes” off your coffee shop, but I’d much rather be in the company of 100 babies than ever be in an environment like this again. God bless Starbucks!

So this is an unusual review. This is local go-to and a sun trap. There are a few members of staff who are lovely, but one very rude man, whom has prevented my partner sitting outside with our baby son. He claimed there wasn’t space for a pram; there was a whole empty section. Twice he has done this telling her ‘No, you can’t sit here with a pram…’ Firstly this is discrimination, and secondly he lets down what is otherwise a lovely place. On the way out, we overheard him tell a member of staff 'This isn't the clientele we want here...' We wont return whilst he works there, because clearly we aren’t welcome. Such a shame really.

Arrived to have a couple of drinks on Friday evening at 6:30. There were serveral free tables outside. We went and asked for a table and we told that the second member of staff was taking a break and they weren’t allowing any new customers for 15 mins. Really weird approach - instead of saying it’s just me - do you want to take a seat and I’ll be over in 10 we were turned away… the manner of this was odd - not apologetic and seemed frustrated by new custom if anything. This is now the 3rd time I’ve had a bad service experience in this place - from reading other reviews I’m amazed no one from Jellyhill hasn’t read any of these and is doing something about it? I appreciate times are hard but just up the road there are delightful people more then happy to seat you with a glass of wine and take your money!

Well, what can we say? A rollercoaster of ups and downs here. Ups? Absolutely everything. Like everything - fantastic place, sharing platters a delight, super coffee and brilliant service. Downs? Just one but it was a biggie - my lunch companion got a bit of tablet with her tea, I got no such sweet delight with my coffee. As I said to Amy, our superbly attentive server, I don’t want to say it’s ruined my day but, well, you get the drift. Having come crashing down to earth with a bump, Amy sprang into action, apologising profusely on the way, and a small bag containing tablet appeared at the table. She had - just - redeemed herself, and the reputation of this establishment. Go, but look out for your tablet. PS In case it’s not abundantly clear, this review is somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Brilliant place and Amy is utterly fabulous - highly recommended :) PPS please make sure Amy stops apologising.

Booked a table online for 2pm. When we arrived we were told there was a 20-30 minutes wait for food. We thought it was strange to have to wait that long for food since the cafe was half empty, but we thought we could wait since it was very windy and chilly outside so we said we would take the table bit the waitress reminded us that there was over 40 minutes wait for food so I reminded she said 20 minutes before but she insisted she had said 40 minutes. It felt like she was trying to get rid of us. Reading the reviews left by other people online now, I'm just glad we left. We found a lovely welcoming coffee shop nearby. Ordered soup and a sandwich. Unfortunately the chef must have been having an off day- soup (carrot and coriander) was totally tasteless, basically hot liquid with oil poured over it. Greasy and weird. Chicken n bacon sarnie barely adequate small and little filling. We politely spoke to the waiter (transpired to be the manager) and asked if he could remove soup from bill as we had not eaten any of it. He declined to remove it from the bill and as we had no intention of paying for something we did not enjoy nor eat, we had to ask again and debate the issue before he reluctantly agreed. He provided a verbal of the bill instead of paper copy and short- changed me. We advised him we would not return due to his poor attitude and lack of service. A lovely wee spot( among many others) in Glasgows west end let down by poor customer service. We note several similar customer reviews. Only reason I gave this place two stars was the coffee was delish as well as the roll when I eventually got it. What really disappointed me was the 15 min wait for this and both of my items coming at separate times. There is a real lack of organisation and timing at Jelly Hill Cafe Bar. Ordering to take away, I'm given my coffee in around 5 mins which is fine but waited 10 further mins for the roll. I was finished the coffee by time I got my roll but to make things more frustrating, I was watching a brown bag sitting on the counter for the last 5 mins knowing it was mine but clearly no urgency to get the food out whilst it's hot as it just sat there. I decided to head in to find out what was happening with my roll only to be handed the brown bag I seen 5 mins earlier. I voiced my frustration but at no point received an apology but just a bunch of excuses with no real justification as to why I was not handed the roll 5 mins earlier and sent on my way. Poor service and staff need training around building rapport with your customers with a key focus on how to acknowledge poor experience, show empathy and finding a solution to the complaint.

Pre lockdown I often enjoyed a wonderful coffee served by friendly and welcoming staff. However after months of waiting for restrictions to be lifted, I ventured out with a friend. There where no seats available but I saw a stack of chairs outside on the pavement,I proceeded to lift a couple down but to my dismay a man came running out of the shop screaming that I wasn't to touch the chairs. I understand fully the restrictions which have been placed on the hospitality sector but his attitude was all wrong, his customer service was none existent. Why where the chairs outside anyway? I feel the freindliness of many has disappeared since we now have to cover our lovely welcoming smiles. A total contrast to what they used to be like and yes sadly things may never return back to normal but a little courteousness goes a long way. So I suggest that the man brushes up on his customer service instead of thinking that everyone that comes to the cafe has the virus!!! I do hope things change but right now I feel I wouldn't go back. Nice coffee shame about the one member of staff.

Buen croissant sabroso.Vale la pena otra visita

Only ever had coffee here but it's always good. You get a free piece of tablet with it , don't make my mistake think its a sugar cube and spend 5 minutes stirring your coffee trying to get it to dissolve

I visited the cafe on 26.1.20 around 2pm with one other adult and my baby. As soon as we walked in the waiter told us there were no tables with no offer for us to wait, only a moment later for a table to become free right in front of us. I thought this strange considering the waiter surely had served this table their bill and therefore must have known the table was about to become free, but instead was willing to send us away? Once at our table, we ordered coffee and food, having to choose alternative options due to things not being available on the menu. 50 minutes later we were still waiting for our food when it finally arrived. This wait was very poor and quite surprising. Even if the kitchen had become busy, the cafe is not especially big and we ordered a sandwich and waffles which surely do not merit a wait of 50 minutes? No apology for the time we had to wait was offered by any of the staff. The sandwich ordered was chorizo, cheddar and caramelised onion. The sandwich had 3 small pieces of chorizo in the whole sandwich, a small sprinkle of cheese and 2 pieces of onion. The sandwich was barely filled and was mainly just bread, which was extremely disappointing.  We raised this with the same waiter serving us and explained we were not happy with this.  He just said 'ok' and took it away. We were not charged for it however there was no apology, considering we had waited 50 minutes for our food, and then received a very poor serving of food, it is quite unbelievable. I am extremely disappointed with the service received, not just with the poor quality of the meal but also with the inadequate level of service that the staff offer. Even when we were leaving, another one of the waiters brought back our change, and did not even look in our direction or say goodbye. This unfriendly attitude does not exactly make customers feel welcome. I should say too that I did try to email them about it all however the contact email they have listed isn't a genuine address, my email wouldn't send.

I've been here few times in last couple weeks. Came for breakfast and service well not great and food quality v average or below for breakfast roll. Coffee is amazing. In a nutshell I love the snugness of the place and the fact in good weather you can sit outside.... However I do not recommend for food. Coffee or drinks yes! It's a shame as all they need is simple little menu did well

Bit disappointed seeing as came here for an evening carvery two days in a row, only to find it shut, even when the hours on Google claim it's still open until 9PM. First showed up on Tuesday, only to find its shut monday and Tuesday all day (picture 1). Showed up the next day at 5 only to find the new opening times are actually until 5 not 8 now (photo 2). Please update the hours to make sure they reflect the new opening times.

Had cocktails here, and really can't fault the taste and theatre of them! I thought they were slightly overpriced as the ones we got were somewhat small in size. The decor and lighting was super atmospheric and a great setting for a date. However, the music was a bit too loud and we were had to shout at each other to hear. No choice with the adding a tip on card machine, you had to. Which I wouldn't have minded so much if the staff member making my cocktails wasn't rude and rolled her eyes at me more than once when ordering. I had the Hazelnut Whip (festive special).

Prices weren't shocking so I'm not gonna slate the quality of the food, which was ok. The expression you get what you pay for is where my only gripe comes in...had to pay an extra £3 for a side of chips as the £6.50 fishfinger sandwich came on its own and what arrived on the plate wasn't a £3 side portion of chips which is a shame as it annoyed me a little. Kids meal was reasonable and came with more chips than I got for an extra charge lol. Overall, pub is nice, good atmoshphere and great layout with the tv screens etc but the foods probably not worth it based on my visit.
