This was our 2nd visit to the Kings head, and won’t be the last, we love this place, and it’s a great place to stay when visiting Warwick, the tapas was lovely, and nice size portions, probably ordered to much, because was used to small tapas portions, not a bad thing though. The room for the night was very reasonable, being under £100 a night with breakfast, it’s not 5 star, but very clean and tidy, so if your looking to stay in Warwick, look no further, oh and ring them directly and save at least £15, by not going through a web site. We will be back at Christmas to visit the Christmas market

We have visited many times for the tapas menu which is fabulous, south American food in Warwick ! But this is the first time trying the Sunday lunch. We shared tacos to start which were delicious and then my husband had the solomio steak sizzler which was also tasty and fantastic . I had the lamb Sunday lunch and couldn't fault it. Loads of meat and veg. Beautifully cooked. Lovely atmosphere, we felt like we were on holiday. Loved it.

This building is 400 years old and a thriving pub so expect some character. Located 5 mins from market place and in walking distance of town and castle. Car parking on site or 2 mins walk if full. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Good value.

Been here a few times for food and drinks, the staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome. They've changed the menu slightly and we took friends who were visiting us. All of our food was freshly made and we couldn't fault it. Quite large portions. The burgers were pure beef and the milanese de pollo was delicious. (Hubby changed the mash to chips) Will definitely be back. 😋😋

The pub is well situated being a 5 minute walk into Warwick. The room was quite small and basic, but adequate for one night and good value for money. The bed was comfortable but overlooked the garden and there was music playing past 11pm. I had ear plugs thankfully! The bathroom was small and only lukewarm water in the shower. Breakfast was good - fruits, cereal and cooked options. The staff were very friendly.

We were treated to a superb welcome the first time we came here, and after a couple of visits, we felt like part of the family. It's rather poignant as we used to live only a few doors down several decades ago. Even if we hadn't had this connection, I'm sure the owners would have made us feel like this, and if the excellent service wasn't enough to keep us coming back, the food is exquisite - you HAVE to try the Tapas. We are steadily working our way through the rich and varied menu, one special at a time. It's currently our favourite place to lunch in Warwick, bar none.

A proper home cooked meal with a friendly team, kitchen lady is lovely (sorry I didn't get names!!) Went back this weekend for another roast, highly recommended! The stuffing is lush ❤

Was recommended for Sunday lunch. Was disappointed. The potatoes weren’t normal roasties. The Yorkshire was a dense ball of mush. The meat was dry and tough definitely not just been carved off a fresh joint. Vegetables left a bit to be desired. Was very nice inside pub and maybe will try something from the main menu if I go again. But they need to up their game on the roast.

We stayed overnight and as it was their "steak night" had an evening meal as well. The meal was excellent and our steaks cooked to perfection. Our room was clean and tidy and we both slept well. A more than adequate breakfast was provided in the morning. An added bonus was the gated car park to the rear of the hotel. Prices compared favourably with other similar establishments in the area.

Unfortunately we waited a long time for our food, almost an hour and we were only one of two families in the restaurant. When our food came out the plates were cold and the vegetables were only just warm. We sent three of our plates back while one family member continued with his food. We asked for the plates/ food to be warmed up. We had to wait a further 20 minutes for the food to return. In which time the other family member had finished his meal and had to sit through is eating ours. Even when the food was returned it was only mildly warmer. The meal would have actually been really lovely if it was hot. We were given 20% off the bill but it was terrible service and we would much rather have paid the full amount and been satisfied with the food.

I booked to stay here for two nights as we both wanted to visit the castle. This place is apparently 400 years old and 5 minutes from the centre of Warwick on foot. I would like to review the Inn as a place to stay but can't find it on tripadvisor. The place is owned and run by an Italian family and I have to say the food is wonderful. Full English Breakfast is cooked to order and with juice, coffee, tea and toast, along with a selection of cereals, was superb. We also had dinner there on our first night. My wife had deep fried brie followed by a lamb shank and I had garlic mushrooms in a cream sauce followed by one of the best cooked steaks I had had in ages. We didn't have dessert because the portion sizes were so large we were stuffed. All this and a bottle of wine for around £45! The owner and staff were warm and welcoming, and I would recommend this place anytime. My only regret is that they don't serve meals on a Sunday. If they did we would certainly have eaten there again. Instead we ended up at grossly expensive place just up the road called Micatto (see separate review).

Sadly the coffee I ordered was only just warm and the chicken Caesar salad was more like a side salad - which although was fresh, was not what I expected. I ordered the Caesar salad as I don't like onion or tomatoes, and unfortunately the whole salad was made up mostly of these two items. When I expressed my disappointment at this, the `Chef' was sent out and went on at me about how Caesar salads can be made up of what the chef wants! I have no recollection of ever having Caesar salads containing either these items. No replacement or refund was offered. Won't be visiting again due to attitude.

Upon our arrival we were made very welcome by the friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble for us. We decided to have a drink in the modern, yet oldie worldie bar before being shown up to our room. The bar was fairly quiet but had some regulers who we started chatting to and made us feel very welcome. After our drink we were shown up to our room which was really nice and very comfortable. The room was also well equipt with tv, tea/coffee and more importantly free wifi. The was also an iron and board available if we needed. After a wonder around the charismatic town we decided to have dinner back at The Kings Head. I had a homemade burger which I highly recommend and my partner had lasagne which was also homemade and very delicious. We decided to have an early night as a busy day ahead of the castle and Stratford. The hotel is on a main road, the windows had a secondary glaze but the road was really quiet and caused no bother to a good nights sleep. Breakfast in the morning really hit the spot for the day ahead, we had the cooked breakfast and was really good. After breakfast we checked out which was very quick and easy. We were also able to leave the car in their car park as the castle is a ten minute walk and the castles car park is really expensive. I highly recommend staying here and have already recommended it to friends. Next time we visit Warwick we will defiantly be staying again. Thank you to all the Kings Head team who made us very welcome and happy to chat with us and recommend places to do and see.

We live in Warwick and only wish we'd discovered the King's Head sooner than we did. It's tucked away from the town centre a little just within a stone's throw of Sainsburys and the monstrosity of Barrack St Council building. But once inside it's a delight, it's very cosy with a large fireplace and laid back ambience. We often go there for a pub lunch. We're vegetarians but there's plenty of choice of baguettes, paninis and omelletes, or there is a more extensive mains menu if you're a little bit peckish and all very reasonably priced. We'd definately recommend the King's Head - and it's worth the short walk out from the town centre.
