Website has the incorrect information, as does the sign outside the establishment. This pub does not serve food. It was very annoying 😑 as we picked this place as it had good reviews. It's time for an update on your website. Pub was cosy typical of an old village pub. The one positive for my husband was that it serves Cheddar Valley

Awful. Not welcome with children apparently. Olly was rude and disrespectful . Absolutely dreadful. Couldn’t wait to leave

We found this pub on Britdtop as somewhere to syop in the csmpervan overnight. It was more like a uni student bar than a pub. Clearly all the reviews are written by youngsters under 25. We were the youngest in there by at least 40 years. We felt very out of place & awkward.

Camper van stop over with 2 hours notice . Real pleasure to visit made very welcome, however if you arrive with a camper over 7mtrs you may struggle

What a great pub! Did a stop over in the campervan. Enjoyed afew drinks in the evening, they dont serve food but is Local to cheddar where there are places to eat. Friendly staff and locals. Dog friendly.

What a great pub, well worth the trip from Swansea

Lovely back street pub off the main drag in Cheddar. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Two ales Butcombe and Otter. Lovely secluded beer garden and lots of nooks to explore. No food though. Ideal for a thirst quencher after thrashing up and down Jacob's ladder.

We visited The Kings ahead after walking the Cheddar Gorge trail, the staff are really friendly and made us feel really welcome. The pub is amazing, like a maze, with different areas. I recommend this pub to anyone visiting Cheddar, we absolutely loved it. We didn’t have food so can’t review this.

Looked a great pub, built like a rabbit warren (said by the staff) warm beer and not accommodating at all avoid go to the river side inn instead (to avoid clickyness)

We stopped for a few drinks in the morning, just before lunch. The place has outdoors tables, pool table, and inside tables, parking.

Under new ownership apparently. So far so good. Lovely garden.

Best pub in Cheddar by far. It's a pity though that so many pubs like this are owned by pub companies that seem to take advantage of their tenants goodwill and hard work.

Came in on a Wednesday evening. The pies were amazing as were the peas and mash. The pub looked fantastic and the gent who served us was very friendly.

Fabulous old part thatched pub tucked away in Cheddar, with revolving guest beers, and a cupboard full of board games - what’s not to like!

Went there after a long drive on Saturday night. Both had superb pies. Lovely ale. Great choice. Went here most nights/days on our stay for a week. The Tacos were a nice snack. Ben the publican was a great host and welcoming.

Found this pub my chance, quiet and quaint, lots of character, really great drink selection and the pie and mash selection and quality is amazing. Highly recommended, a great modern twist on a truly traditional English pub.

Fantastic traditional pub, with a good choice of real ales. The staff and locals where extremely friendly, but the highlight was the menu, which was a made up of a selection of fantastic pies. Highly recommend

Banging pub with proper pub grub

Amazing specials every week, taco Tuesdays, Octoberfest platters, Mac and cheese, pies, the bloody lot. Best pub in cheddar by a country mile. Also dog friendly with a great range of beers. Could not recommend highly enough.

Our favourite local! Ben is a top barmen and is very welcoming. We love how Ali changes the menu up every other week! One week ramen, next week tacos. You wouldn’t get food like it in a pub anywhere else. The food is no gimmick. I don’t know how she does it so well! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I found this place online while we were in the area, as they were listed as stockists of Pieminister pies which we love! When we walked in the pub it seemed very.....local. We almost turned and went back out as all eyes were on us! We were a bit early for food so we ordered a drink and went and sat in the back room. This was the best decision ever as it was amazing, and had a cupboard full of board games!! We had a great time playing games, and when our food came it was just as great as eating at a Pieminister establishment! The chap behind the bar was nice too, always friendly!

What a find! A gem of a pub, serving great value for money ‘pie and mash’. A choice of seven pies on the day we visited, including the excellent ‘Moo & Blue’. Relatively limited opening hours, so check before you go.

Fantastic and quirky pub. Really well laid out with good spaces for dogs or people that might need a bit of space. Very dog friendly. The food (pie and mash only) is outstandingly good with vegetarian and vegan options. If you're in cheddar and looking for a pub I'd highly recommend a visit!!

The perfect way to spend an evening with friends and family in this quaint 17th Century pub. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They have all the usual drink offerings available along with guests. The menu has a staple range of lovely pies and an ever changing specials board. Thursday evenjngs are quiz night, which is great fun. Although booking is essential as it's so popular. Would highly recommend a visit to this lovely pub.

If you are in Cheddar you can't miss its oldest pub. The building is a classic old pub very cosy with fireplace, bricks walls, board games and nice beers. I really appreciated the choice of rock music from the owner!

Stopped of here for a drink yesterday , whilst on a camping visit to cheddar . Such a lovely pub , we met the new owner who said they’ve been there for 5 months and what a lovely man, would recommend the visit.

Fantastic pub, Ben the landlord has a great sense of humour and allowed us to try an ale before purchasing it! All the ales that we tasted during our visit were lovely and fresh! The building itself is large and stunning with a large seating area to the rear. The pub is a period property with three or four different area/rooms (including games room). All of the food on the menu looked lovely and Claire and I went for pie and mash. Claire enjoyed the Moo Pie and I went for the Moo and Blue (bosting!) 😋 All the customers seemed friendly as well! Our party of 5 came here for lunch. It's a lovely quiet spot with a nice garden in the back. We had pies and the (enormous) ploughmans, which were all delicious. Bring your appetite.
