Accommodation was basic but ok, would have given 2/3 stars but have given 1 star as our booking included a full English breakfast, which we didn't get and the owner had no interest in honouring the booking. We were told the email was a mistake. We were offered a cold crossiant/yoghurt and juice. Really disappointed with response of owner and can't recommend.

Comfortable spacious room in quiet location. Pleasant staff. Car park. Why does this site call the Kings Head a restaurant? There is no kitchen, you will get NO food. Free breakfast consists of a barely adequate so-called "continental" snack.

We booked a one night stay here. We needed a place that would accommodate our dog too and provide a vegan breakfast. We chose The Kings Head as when I called them, just two days before our stay, advising we were vegan, Ali the new manager was 'yep that's no problem'. I love this can do attitude. I'm pleased to say that Ali went out of her way to ensure we had a great vegan breakfast even making scrambled tofu. I have no doubt that she's equally as capable at other diets, special or mainstream! We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again as this place met all our requirements. Its also situated in The High Street of a great little town which was buzzing when we were there.

Me and my partner stayed overnight at the Kings Head the room was clean and pleasant the check in was friendly. We went out in Sawston for a Chinese at jade Gardens which was like a former working men's club, but the food was immense. After that we went back to the Kings head which was built in 1799 and has low ceilings and character , we had a few drinks and a laugh with Ben the landlord and a couple of interesting locals, a good night was had. The following day we got up for our complimentary full English. All said and done great place and great value.

Lovely comfortable clean room. Nice friendly staff. Stayed here before so was looking forward to a nice English breakfast. Sadly in the morning the pub was all locked and closed, even though I’d paid for breakfast. I emailed but they didn’t reply. Not complaining as £35 but this lack of consistency is why people stay in chain hotels!

We stayed one night in the family room. Very well set up accommodation in the courtyard of the pub with two interconnecting rooms and a private bathroom. The accommodation was ideal for us with two small children. The owners gave us a very warm welcome and we really enjoyed our stay. We had an excellent meal at the pub which was again ideal for our family. The pub really has a wonderful and friendly atmosphere. I was also highly impressed with the breakfast which was delicious. The perfect location for Duxford air museum.

We stayed here for the night following work in Cambridge, and an intended visit to IWM Duxford for which the pub is perfectly situated. Having read some of the earlier (pre-new management) reviews after we booked, we were a little worried. What I can say is that you should absolutely not worry! This place is warm, welcoming, clean, and very well apportioned, especially for families of 4. The pub definitely has a old world feel, which is rare now, and the fact no food is served when we stayed isn’t an issue as there’s plenty of other possibilities nearby. The room was fresh, clean and very tidy. Parking is a little tight, but manageable, and whilst the pub noise is definitely there, it adds to the character. I can only congratulate the new management for the efforts they’ve taken to turn the place around. Would definitely recommend, and will also consider another stay next time we’re in the area!

Visiting Imperial War Museum and stayed over one Saturday night. No evening meals served, but pub is situated on the main High Street and plenty of restaurants/takeaways on the doorstep along the High Street. Stayed in the converted stable block which was lovely, clean, tidy and good sized bathroom with decent sized shower, etc, which appeared newly installed. Plenty of hot water. Two small cozy lounges in the pub itself (the size of small living rooms) and two beer garden areas at the back, one covered. Quite a narrow entrance to the car park between the stable block and the pub (it is an old inn!) but adequate parking at the back. Plenty of towels, tea, coffee and biscuits provided along with complimentary toiletries. Landlady was very welcoming and helpful. Had a great night's sleep despite being opposite the pub door and beer garden. Really enjoyed it and would stay again if down that way.

Stayed here for one night pre to visiting Duxford. A warm welcome received. Rooms were very clean, lovely decor. Tea/coffee making facilities, tv, en suite shower, toiletries etc. I am sure if you found anything lacking the management would be very happy to help. Breakfast was included and was perfectly cooked. Great value for money.

After reading previous reviews I thought it can't be that bad it's only 1 night! I was wrong it was bad!!!! Room full of dust taps dripping could not stop then. The smell of damp was bad. Scale round the taps. The Mattress was like sleeping on a sack of potatoes. The only good thing about the place was leaving. I have working away for 30 years and I can honestly say it's the B/B I have stayed in

Regrettably this was the only place available in the area to stay whilst attending the air show at Duxford. I have posted hundreds of reviews and believe that anyone can have a bad day so I always try to be objective but this disastrous excuse for B&B accommodation needs to be documented to save other travellers from a similar experience. The place is absolutely filthy, cobwebs etc. Bathroom atrocious, carpets appalling. Smoke detector hanging loosely from the ceiling. I have photographic evidence of all of this. We paid in the bar before we were taken and saw the state of the room. We paid for two nights but only stayed for one night. It completely ruined the weekend. We were going to the air show early start at 8am. Breakfast not available so they provided two packs of sandwiches and two bags of crisps from the local co op. I booked this through Expedia and will be letting them know the state of this place. Honestly I have travelled throughout India and never seen as much filth that a visitor would be expected to stay in.

As long as you are not expecting luxury, you get what you pay for here. The beer in the bar was the best I experienced in the whole stay.(including a couple of trips into Cambridge!)Would go back if ever in the area.

We are not particularly fussy people preferring to stay in a small pub with character but if I am staying somewhere I do expect the room to have been cleaned. The rooms were dreadful, thick dust everywhere and the carpets were filthy. We couldnt walk on them in bare feet. The bathroom and shower were disgusting. The mirror was covered in toothpaste and splashes from previous guests. The carpet around the toilet was badly stained and the shower in one of the rooms had a disgusting mark which was pointed out as a water mark and not mould. The shower was over a bath but didnt work so water came out of the taps and a dribble out of the shower. Thank goodness we had only booked in for one night. Money was taken before we had seen the rooms otherwise I think we would have left. Breakfast was a fry up only, no juice, fruit, cereals and the tea was a cup of hot water with a tea bag placed in front of you. In fairness the breakfast was well cooked but dont ask for tomatoes/mushrooms etc as they dont do those. The towels were nice in the rooms and whilst the bed smelt really musty the sheets were at least clean. I would never entertain going back to this place.

The Kings Head is located in Sawston and has some car parking at the rear of the Premises. Check in is via the bar and the room(s) are in a small complex next to the pub.Accommodation is pretty basic and in need of some TLC. However it is reasonably priced and close to Cambridge and/or Addenbrookes hospital. The price included breakfast which consisted of a cooked breakfast the next morning. While the pub is quaint, the clientele would not be the gentile types popular in the TV soaps. More beefcake than cupcakes. The accommodation would not be to everyone’s taste as is evident by the range of reviews. Fine for emergency accommodation or if you are working nearby and on a budget.

We stayed 2 nights b&b. Good points: clean bedding and towels, convenient for bus into Cambridge. Bad points: room was grubby, carpet stained. Bathroom disgraceful - dirty, pathetic luke warm shower, wc had to be pumped about 3 times to make it flush, very damp and skirting boards rotten. Noisy from drinkers outside smoking and swearing. Cooked breakfast was good but no cereals, juice or fruit and coffee was instant.Won't be going back.

My daughter got married there on Saturday, at short notice as the previous venue was shut down suddenly. Nicola Coppola the Landlady went out of her way to make things perfect for her. The Gazebos had extra decorations and two Cheese Wedding Cakes that were supplied courtesy of the pub. The buffet was excellent and the deserts complimented the real wedding cake. Could not fault this venue and recommend anyone contemplating a venue - this is the one!!!

This place "could" be great; nice pub, friendly atmosphere etc. BUT, Room we were given needs a deep clean, might seem obvious but furniture needs moving in order to clean around - the dust and debris near the stool in our room was unbelievable! Also, very cheap mattress, could feel every spring! Worse to come - bedside drawers contained old sweets, fags and other assorted rubbish - not good enough! Then after arranging breakfast for 7:00am (saw the evening staff writing the message) no one was around in the morning so we had to leave without the breakfast that we'd paid for. It would not take much to sort this place out, just a better cleaning regime and improve communication between staff. On the plus side; ALL the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful!!

We would definitely stay again but maybe not in the family room until it's had a touch of paint and a good clean

My wife and I went to this lovely pub with our dog for dinner. We booked a table in the bar area which is a real cosy bar. Everyone in the bar and the bar staff were so friendly. We sat there for a couple of hours having a drink plus dinner. The food was great, especially the home made pie. We will definitely return.
