Have stayed here 3 times before.also have stayed in numerous wetherspoons hotels and recommended them to everyone.i have to say we were quite disappointed this time.the staff were very helpful but this hotel needs a serious makeover.our room although bed and very quite wasn't the best.air con not working although we had a heater which was sufficient heating the room.and in all fairness the lovely guy who checked us in told us about it and said if we needed another heater to let him know.towel heater didn't work and tv lost tv channels!!!.OK if you wanted to watch kids cctv.the shower took a age to drain.sad to say but next visit to Salisbury won't be staying here unless major refurbishment.

Had the Monday earlybird special. Small fish and chips with a raspberry vodka tonic for 8.20£. Pints were 2£ and up. Right on the Avon River. Very local and friendly

Glum staff, particularly one women... totally lacking any manners. The place could do with a total refurbishment. Is Salisbury not a happy place?

Possible the most disappointing fish and chips I’ve ever had. Both my wife and ordered it and when it arrived it was almost thrown at us and the staff member ran off. It was a case of hunt for the fish amongst the batter. Sent email of complaint and received a standard response. We’ve had breakfast here in the past which we enjoyed and that’s why it’s three stars and not one.

don't know where to start really, despite being almost empty food took 30 mins, cask beer completely flat that was not first choice as online menu not kept up to date, coffee machine left unfilled, dirty tables everywhere left uncleaned. I like Wetherspoons but this was very poor experience all round

Myself and my friend ordered small fish and chips but were flabbergasted at the size of the meal. The piece of fish must have been the cut off rejects when preparing the fish. I’ve never seen a piece of fish so small, thin and overcooked! The cod was brown. The chips were ok but hardly enough to feed a toddler, mushy peas looked like a cat had vomited on the plate. Delightful!

6 of us booked 3 double rooms for a Friday evening as we were staying in town for the Craig Charles funk and soul show.

4 of us stopped here on a Friday and Saturday night and had a very nice time. We booked 2 rooms at the back of the hotel away from the noise of the bar area and outside and we did'nt here a thing all night. The rooms were fualtless as you would find in a 4/5 star hotel. The carpark was the only worry. They tell you to use the Central car park which was only 5 minutes up the road easy to find ,it was a huge open place and there did not seem much security going on. It was a pay and display and were not charged overnight , only paid for 8 - 6pm and Sunday was free at this time. However everthing was ok at the end of the stay.

We have eaten here on several occasions. Mainly on a value for money basis.

I visited this branch of Wetherspoons today and my comment is that it is the worst Wetherspooons in to which I have been. The place was very poorly lit, the carpet was threadbare in places, the toilet would not flush and overall the place was very dark and uninviting. I asked to speak to the duty manager to express my disappointment and this young man was completely ambivalent about my comments. Totally disrespectful. His comment was that he could tell the manager but he thought that “he (the manager) would not like it” but what about my opinion as a customer. Also I noticed that this Wetherspoons was not so busy as other branches which I have visited.

If you like to queue for 20 minutes this is the place for you. Full of blank faced drones working behind the bar, poor service, cold breakfasts, lots of students and a bunch of slack jawed goggled eyed yocals. This place truly sucks. Nice building though!

Our usual Fish n Chip Shop was closed due to annual holiday so we thought that Wetherspoons would be a reliable 2nd choice. We chose a table, went to the bar to order Fish n Chips to be told that they had sold out. This was a Friday evening at 5:44pm ... on Fish Friday. Very disappointed. We have had some bad meals at this place before and were giving it another chance as we thought that Fish n Chips would be a pretty safe bet ... !

Decided to go here for breakfast. The food was very good, as was the service. Excellent value for money, especially unlimited coffee for £1.50. We will definitely eat here again.

Came for a few days away spent day looking around Salisbury after a full day looking about decided to find wetherspoons . Not too busy quite helpful staff, food service reasonable. Drinks very good value as usual

Nothing special about eating here but for a quick lunchtime snack it is just about acceptable. The Inn is usually busy at most times but we only had a short wait to order at the bar. The food arrived without undue delay, but the filling in the paninis seems to have reduced considerably.

I was on a conference with Union colleagues and visited here a couple of times while in Salisbury. The food I ordered on the app and it came very quickly and was hot. I'd happily recommend this establishment

My wife and I had booked a room so we could attend a concert in Salisbury.

Stayed here's with a group of (older ) female friends when visiting another friend in April 2019. Main gripe would be limited access for those with poor mobility. In fact we'd stayed there 4yrs ago but wasn't till we were told our rooms were on 2nd floor and lift only goes to 1st that we remembered. Our group are now less mobile so Damien on reception very kindly showed us alternatives on the 1st floor. He needed to seperate the beds and remake them which he skilfully did in a flash. The hotel is part of Wetherspoons so breakfast and other meals are available immediately downstairs in the pub or there are many other places very nearby if this tasty,great value food is not what you are looking for.

We visited for Saturday lunch we had a long wait for a table. Then a further wait for our food. Such good value for the price of a pint and a meal it is worth the wait. Don't expect fine dining in here it's a bit slip slap slosh. I had the chicken burger it was very good. The do put the caleries per meal on their menus which is helpful.

This is an excellent example of Wetherspoons offering good food and a great selection of drinks at the usual competitive prices. The inside is very stylishly decorated and is well worth a visit !

Hemos visitado muchos pubs de Wetherspoons y, en general, los encontramos bien valorados, establecimientos bien administrados. Visitamos este pub en 2 ocasiones recientemente mientras estábamos de vacaciones en Salisbury y sentimos que no era una de sus mejores ofertas. Aunque era una buena ubicación, hacía frío por dentro y posiblemente carecía de personal. Por lo general, solo había un miembro del personal detrás del bar, que hacía todo lo posible, pero siempre había una gran cola. As with most Wetherspoons they keep a good cellar and a good selection of drinks all at very reasonable prices. It’s a nice building and the food is always decent for the price.

Came in for a drink and sat outside on my first visit, long wait and dirty tables but on my second visit I walked round the bar trying to find a table without plates glasses and food all over it and found one but it haven't been wiped then I noticed all the flys around the window, never stepping foot in there again if it was that nasty at the tables what would the kitchen be like

I normally title all my reviews of Wetherspoons pubs as 'Just Another Wetherspoons' but this pub is far better than most that I have visited in the chain. The pub is clean and tidy and the staff extremely attentive, friendly and chatty. We ordered our food and drinks using the Wetherspoons app and they were delivered to our table very quickly and efficiently. All in all The King's Head is better than the normal Wetherspoons.

I had the surf and turf, the steak was lovely as was the surf just a little but disappointed with the portion size. Reasonable price and nice building and decor. The staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly

I think we chose the worse time to visit the pub. Unbeknown to us, their kitchen fryers had broken down, so there was only a limited menu. Not a massive issue as such, but it was handled really badly! We were in Salisbury for a gig and only had an hour to grab a bite and a drink or two. We ordered quickly using the app so we didn’t have to queue. This was their first mistake as, apparently, this can be switched off by management. At no point did any staff come over to tell us that the fryers were down and that our burgers would be coming with no chips! We had to chase our drinks and our food and by the time it arrived (with no chips), we had no choice but to start eating it. We asked to speak with the duty manager. Her attitude stunk! We explained the situation and told her we were not made aware of the broken fryers and that we did not feel it was appropriate to pay full price for only half a meal. She said she was happy to refund the price, but insisted that she would have to take the food away!!! We were flabbergasted at her attitude! We were starving and had no choice but to eat it as we only had 10 mins to spare. She offered free drinks instead. We reluctantly accepted, but the drinks never arrived . . What a joke!

Popped in here for a quick lunch. Very busy but the service was reasonable. Pretty standard food and I wonder how much of it is "fresh" as opposed to microwaved

Going into a Weatherspoon’s pub you expect to receive a certain standard of food, service and value for money.

Wonderful value breakfasts and great dishes at lunchtime. Part of Weatherspoons it has old world charm inside. Excellent value drinks.

Nice choice of beer. I've visited the restaurant just to wait for a bus and have a pint. The ale was great, but more expensive than in Winchester or Southampton.

Se ha convertido en un hábito semanal para que mi hija y yo o el desayuno o almuerzo en el Kings Head Inn. Ya sea el desayuno o el almuerzo, mi hija tiene el mismo (Salmón Bagel con queso feta y Rocket - con patatas fritas) y siempre tienen su desayuno, con una gran relación calidad-precio. Ambas comidas, incluyendo una bebida es sólo £12. El servicio es rápido y la comida siempre es de buena calidad.

Entramos en este restaurante después de buscar algo de tiempo para encontrar un lugar para comer. Una vez que nos dimos cuenta de que se pide en el mostrador y darles su número de mesa, estuvimos en negocios. Probamos dos tipos de cerveza local y ambos ordenados de un menú que tenía excelentes precios y selección. Sólo me hubiera gustado tener más espacio para el postre.

Curry nos topamos en noche mientras visitaba a Salisbury por unos días y fue genial. El pub es bastante grande y animada. Probamos el nuevo servicio 'ordenar por app y funcionó de maravilla. I always love a good spoons, however even at breakfast time, there is a mad queue and staff cant cope, are trying their best to get through the orders but then things like coffee urns go empty and staff have to be told to replenish, runs out of sugar and milk etc. even in the vening time on a Friday night when going for drinks, it was really busy as expected but staff failed to monitor who was next, im heavily pregnant and was queuing right up at the bar for 15mins where many customers who squeezed in once a gap formed were served first, we had to eventually make it known that we had been waiting well longer than the others but were ignored and only then were we served. We went for lunch there too and had to ask lady to clean table for us but it was so difficult to find anyone, we eventually found somebody and asked she gave us such a dirty look, came and cleaned the table but was clearly unhappy she was asked!

I was staying at The King's Head Inn, so the pub was very convenient for dinner. You order at the bar. It was a quiet Sunday night, and I still waited five minutes to place my order, in a scrum where I couldn't tell if there were two lines, or one, or just whoever caught the eye of a waiter got served first. The ordering protocol never seems the same from one pub to the next. I ordered a Porn Star Martini. It came in an enormous glass and tasted nothing like a martini. More like a Planter's Punch, but it was very tasty. For £1.50 more I could have had a pitcher. I had the salmon fillet which was about what you would expect of a salmon fillet in a pub - dry and overcooked, but edible. The jacket potato was good, and so was dessert - warm chocolate cake with hot fudge sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. £16.45. A decent meal.

Went for family meal and two meals duly arrived. We sat there for 5 mins and the steak meal didn't materialise. We caught a passing staff member and asked where the 3rd meal was and he said he would find out. After ten mins my husband went to the bar as we had nearly eaten ours by then." Oh sorry sir I forgot to tell you we had run out of steak." So the waiter who bought the first 2 meals didn't think to check, the 2nd person we asked didn't bother even tho we specifically asked him to, he was sat by the bar doing nothing when my husband went to ask, and how can you take money for three meals and then forget to tell them you don't have one. Absolutely appalling and no apology just money back for non existent steak. Staff couldn't have cared less.

I only came to spoons for some drinks with some mates. It was a friday, but the pub was generally quiet. We arrived at spoons around 7.30pm, but it took a good 20mins before we were served to order some drinks. The young bloke serving was useless, rude, slow, and was focussing more on chatting to his colleagues out back (while we were waiting, there were a good 5 colleagues outback just chatting). I complained to the bar staff, and said it was a joke that its taken them so long to serve us, and they obviously need more training. Despite the awful staff on shift, the drinks value is brilliant and helps make a night more fun. Just a shame they don't invest in some decent staff, to help boost profits further.

How does this place do it? Extensive choice of meals, friendly, hard-working staff and some amazing offers.We usually pop in for hot drinks if we are shopping on a Saturday morning, but this week we were in town in the evening and decided to have a hot meal after work.My husband had a generous-sized portion of salmon with jacket potato and salad, which he said was beautifully cooked and I had the Tandoori chicken skewers with yogurt and mint dip and salad. My husband had a pint of lager and I had a lemonade, and our total bill was £18.The lemonade is 99 pence - in Salisbury's pizza establishments the same lemonade is between £2 and £3.The young man who served us was polite, as are all the staff, despite being rushed off their feet most of the time.We are old enough to remember when this was Salisbury's County Hotel - Berni Inn, which was a real treat when I was a child and visited Salisbury a few times a year.Times have changed and it is now a cheap and cheerful Wetherspoon, but it is still housed in this beautiful building and we really like it.

Back again at the Kings Head, after a mornings shopping what better place to rest your feet than the Kings Head , food and service excellent, can recommend the Managers Special.

Came here for a light supper and drink after a busy working weekend. The wine was good, ambience pleasant, and food tasty and very reasonably priced.

Had lunch here today. Food was served quickly by nice polite young lady. This pub has recently been refurbished , clean and well kept inside. Window seats have lovely view. The outside area is lovely.Positioned on riverbank, well kept seating area with tables and brollies alongside riverside walk. All in all a very nice experience.

My wife and I visited the Wetherspoons KIngs Head, Salisbury for an early evening meal.We ordered the 'Steak Night' special offer - two 8oz sirloin stakes and a bottle of wine for a total of £16.99.At that price we did not expect much. How wrong were we? The steaks were well cooked, well presented and delivered quickly in a friendly manner.The KIngs Head is well situated on the banks of one of Salisbury's seven rivers.A short walk from the city center, The Kings Head is well worth the visit.

I had noticed The King's Head's Thursday curry night special a week ago. Happening to find myself in Salisbury on a Thursday I thought I'd try it. What a pity ...While the accompanying onion bahji was good, the veg curry was pretty tasteless. The naan was cold and hard and the yoghurt absent. All in all a disappointment.On the other hand, The King's Head is to be congratulated on reserving large areas for non-smokers.

Whilst walking past the other day we thought we would pop in for breakfast so we went in found a table and i went to the bar and got our coffees and sat down to look over the menu. Whilst we was looking the little old lady on the table next to us had her toast delivered to her table by one of the managers. The toast looked like it had only been toasted on one side so the lady said to the manager about it and the manager told the lady that is how it comes. Anyway after a couple of words being exchanged the manager did change the ladies toast but she was so rude to the lady everyone that was sat in the area was on about it. So we drank our drinks and went elsewhere.

We have been here for lunch a few times now, when we visit Abergavenny. Service, food and beer always very good. Well worth a visit, when you are in town.

Went there with my parents , it's good value, good prompt service with the typical Witherspoon menu . Nice location next to the river , easy walking distance from the Cathedral

Like the title says its a spoons. Good value food and drink and the loos upstairs - no surprises.Just finished wondering round town in the morning and came across The Kings Head by the river. Popped in for a beer and a burger at lunchtime, a no risk lunch you know what your getting at spoons, I am not a fan of the brand at night but at lunch time it really is great value. Nice location on the edge of salisbury in a fairly old sandstone building. Well staffed at lunchtime so you don't have to wait long to be served and there was plenty of seating.No complaints.

Continuing my tour of Wetherspoons around the country - as I find them as I am dragged sometimes reluctantly to shopping with Madam. I liked the aspect by the river - and noted the outside seating and Madam remarked it would be pleasant to visit when it is slightly warmer than the current 1.5c.I thought the inside (and first floor) looked clean and smart, had good quality lighting and matched an impressive city to shop in. The Cathedral dominates, of course, but there is a historical feeling to Salisbury that makes this a better experience to, say, Bournemouth or Poole or Taunton. But Bath is perhaps better. Car parking is a little heavy so I would consider a train visit providing one gets an Advance deal.The choice of ales and so forth is well known and whilst I did not have a meal here, I have to say it would have been against the odds to have had a bad experience as that has happened only once (in some 40 odd). This chain does have outlets right around the country so naturally there is going to be some that are a little 'rough'. Since they do get a lot of use it is not surprising that there is a queue for refurbishment. This outlet looked spanking new. What made a good impression was that the chap serving took the time to ask about Xmas and how it had been for us. A little bit of effort goes a long way - I think I spotted 'Team leader' on his lapel.I note that this has accommodation and all in all I got the impression of a good quality hotel. I have stayed at three so far ( and at Weston twice due to a superb advance deal) and i would consider that this is likely to be one of the better ones.

Nos dejamos guiar por la ubicación al lado del canal, con una vista preciosa al lado de las ventanas, y por la carta. Con un aspecto de pub inglés, el King's Head ofrece comida a precios muy asequibles y la verdad, muy rica, tanto los copiosos desayunos como sándwiches/hamburguesas, así como la bebida y variedad de esta y un café bastante decente. Eso sí, se trata de un establecimiento de comida "rápida", hecha con cariño pero con platos combinados, esencialmente.Tienes que ir a pedir a la barra y pagar allí, atención, y luego te lo traen a la mesa. El local es enorme, con dos plantas, y hay muchos parroquianos y locales durante todo el día: siempre lo veíamos lleno. El servicio, aunque tendrás poco roce con ellos dado que no sirven en mesa, muy educado, rápido y amable. Nos gustó tanto que fuimos a cenar y desayunar (por unos 8€ un café, un plato con beans, huevo frito, bacon/jamón, tostada, mantequilla, hash browns... casi no te cabe el plato en la mesa). Además tiene una bonita terraza exterior, que no disfrutamos porque para nosotros la temperatura era similar a la de Narnia, pero los autóctonos parecían estar encantados.

Buscamos un lugar para cenar de hamburguesas y que estuviera bien de precio y encontramos este pub/restaurante que nos gustó mucho, eramos un grupo de 20 personas y cenamos estupendamente, y barato!! Mi marido y yo comimos dos hamburguesas gourmet, caseras, con queso, bacon, y muchas más cosas, acompañadas de patatas fritas, una botella de vino blanco y dos refrescos de cola y solo pagamos 22 libras!!, una pasada de barato!! y la comida estuvo muy buena, es un sitio recomendable. A parte de hamburguesas también tenían carnes a la brasa con precios muy ajustados. Lo recomiendo! Nos gustó mucho.

Called in for breakfast mid morning on a Saturday with a party of eight wanting breakfast in a leisurely setting. Sat upstairs where everything was clean and tidy with plenty of space. Ordered breakfast in 4 couples with the first 2 full English breakfasts arriving at the same time as the person who placed the order got back with the coffees. Porridge took a little longer but worth the wait. There was a mistake with one of the accompaniments but staff very apologetic and service was excellent in putting it right. Would be a regular stop if we lived closer.

Noi abbiamo trovato la catena Wetherspoon per caso. In 2 si mangia mediamente con 15 sterline! Scaricate la lista dei pub convenzionati e andate sul sicuro.

We went to the kings head last night and the service and food was rubbishMy steak was murdered my chips were soggy we had a free drink included and when I asked to change it from coffee to a soft drink also on the list of included drinks I was told oh I have to get the manager and we have to change the till so I don't think we canAfter moaning at them I finally change them but not without hassleIt seems the staff on friendly and wanting to please and keep the customers happyMy step daughter had lasagne and it looked as though it had been thrown on the plate no presentation qualityWe had to ask to get the table cleaned and the pudding was microwavedDisgusting

Visited both on a Friday night for a few drinks and a Saturday lunchtime for food. Drink prices very reasonable plus the food was cheap and very enjoyable. Well done to Weatherspoons!

La comida es espectacular, y los precios (teniendo en cuenta lo que vale todo en Inglaterra) son excelentes. Pedimos nachos y hamburguesas, y nos encantó todo. El servicio hay que pedirlo en la barra, y te lo traen a la mesa. Hay wifi gratis.
