Food over all 6 out of 10. Taste 7 out of 10. Luke warm once served. Starter good tasty stone bass, mains okay tasty well cooked venison luke warm, pudding shop bought? Service 4 out of 10. Inadequate attention to the table. Calamity service staff, bit like faulty towers. Venue 7 out of 10. Weak front of house. Chilly room. Guys we need hot food and better service. You charge well for it. Come on really?

Went here for a Christmas meal with family today, entire meal was ruined by poor service. My husband had to ask for the glasses to be collected and because so many had piled up the waitress dropped a whole glass of wine, which smashed another glass all over me. They ruined my outfit, ruined my baby's lunch because I couldn't feed her her homemade dinner due to risk of glass, I cut my finger trying to move glass away from my baby, and had to sit in wet clothes for the rest of the meal. I was not satisfied with the outcome of free wine and kids meals, as for me the day was ruined, my husband kindly paid while I was in the toilet, I would not have done! Two of our party also ate with their coats on as they were cold. Unimpressed to say the least poorly trained staff.

Visited for my a family birthday celebration. The size of our party meant we had to pre-order, but it was as hassle free as you could imagine and the servers came out with everyone's names, so it was super slick. The food never fails to disappoint.

Clean tables, warm, cosy & inviting. The staff were all very friendly and nothing felt like too much. Food was quick & delicious with generous portions. The children's menu had plenty to choose from and they also were generous in portion size (see the photo of the steak!) Thank you all! We will be back!

We had lunch here as part of Norfolk Restaurant week and we will definitely be back. The food was superb, especially the venison which was tender and very flavoursome. The staff were all friendly and welcoming and the building is cosy and full of character. We are so pleased we went there!

We were in the Norwich area and required food. This popped up as one of the nearest places and we didn’t even look at the menu. We walked in and got a table without booking. When nosying around I started to get the feel for the place. We’ve been to Michelin star and fine dining places enough and as such expectations are raised as well as the menu prices. Staff were experienced and very helpful when catering for my food intolerances, the decor well appointed and rustic and the aromas from the kitchen were hunger inducing and we like the ethos around locally sourced food. We just wanted a bite to eat so only had a main meal. The Pheasant dish arrived as did the venison for my wife, I got food envy. A well presented plate but was underwhelmed by the portion size and didn’t leave me satisfied. Perhaps as part of a three course menu it would have been about right. The meat was well cooked but seemed to lack the game flavour I was expecting. The sauce was a little bitter and left a slight burnt aftertaste I wasn’t overly fond of. The accompaniments were well cooked. The venison and sauce were unctuous, the portion a great size but given the near 150% price difference quite honestly I wouldn’t have expected less and my wife still managed it all. It would be a little harsh to give just 3 stars and I really struggle with this review. I tend to avoid hotel restaurants as the prices do tend to be inflated and we didn’t check the place out thoroughly, it also isn’t a Michelin star restaurant, although seems close to it and so shouldn’t be held to quite that high an account - very tricky. Would we eat there again? Maybe.

This is a really nice place to visit the food is always great well presented and the service is excellent and the staff are really great. My only concern was the menu choices, as it serves local produce the choices on my last visit seemed lacking and not as balanced as a menu should be, none of my group of friends had a desert as there were only 3 choices and not very inspiring.

Excellent service from all of the staff; we felt very looked after by everyone, particularly Kaylie (spelling?) who was extremely attentive. Venue was really nice, clean, modern and period and cozy. Food was great as it was hot, quickly received, although I would like my roasties to be crispy if I am honest. Very happy. Thank you.

Always a warm welcome here. River over the road where people sit and children play in the summer. Food is excellent quality, although I would personally appreciate more vegetarian options. Best to book - this is a popular place.

I recently stayed at The Kings Head for one night on a business trip. The hotel was easy to find and had plenty of free parking. I was met by Ella, who was extremely polite and made sure all my questions were answered. She showed me to my room and explained all of the amenities to me. The room was well-appointed and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was large and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and modern. I also had a great view of the gardens from my room. I had an evening meal in the bar, and it was excellent. I had a great pint of local ale and the food was outstanding. The service was also very good, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay at The Kings Head. The hotel is well-located, the rooms are comfortable, and the food is excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. I hope this review is helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions. P.S. I would also like to add that the hotel is very clean and well-maintained. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Love the coffee here so thought we'd pop in for a quick bite to eat as we were in the area. We ordered two flat whites and two fishfinger sandwiches and a bowl of chips. After a debauched Saturday afternoon on the Norfolk Broads, our stag group of weary, bloated thirtysomethings hauled ourselves into taxis to honour our dinner reservations at this quiet and refined countryside pub, where the giant, boucle dining chairs ensconce you and prearranged food choices are hurriedly delivered to your table. The staff were warm and good-humoured in the face of their understandable bemusement at our low energy, as well as many of my friends’ inability to finish their hearty meat dishes. I, meanwhile, delighted in the beautifully presented salt-baked celeriac, accompanied by the tastiest shimeji mushrooms and artfully sprinkled with pieces of hazelnut and fenugreek – all proudly sourced within 48.5 miles of the premises. In a weekend of chaos, the Kings Head gifted me a treasured interlude of expertly executed gastronomic joy. If I’m ever back in the area, there’s only one place I’m heading for dinner.

Menu does not match the food. The crispy patatas bravas were not crispy. Just call them potatoes in sauce. The dumpling stew was very spicy but nothing in the menu would indicate it was going to be spicy. My wife was really disappointed. The mushroom wellington was mostly pastry with not a lot of mushroom, which is normally the opposite of a wellington. Just call it mushroom and leek pastry. Not as posh I know. The peanut blondie had raisins in it. I hate raisins and would not have ordered it if they mentioned this in the menu. The quality of the ingredients, service and ambient was good. A pain to find a place to park.
