Oh dear Not very good food :—( Very nice waiter but really one of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten. I wish I could say something good about this place but I finding it difficult.

This room was absolutely disgusting. The rubber bath mat was mouldy on both sides. There was black mould on the bathroom ceiling. The mattress had springs poking into my leg all night. The toilet roll holder was broken, and the toilet roll had to sit on the sink. The message from reception was " we have 86 rooms to clean". DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY "

Nous avons fait l expérience et franchement à ne pas renouveler. Accueil retissant nous nous sommes senti à l écart directe. Nous avons attendu bien 30 minutes avant qu on s occupe de nous. Les plats étaient bon sans plus et comme nous somme arrivé vers 20h, on nous a annoncé au moment où on finissait nos plats avec la note à la main que l on nous a posé sur la table qu on aurait pas de dessert...whaou le choc

Assez surpris par le commentaire assez négatif précédent car j'y ai diné le soir et petit-déjeuné le lendemain matin et j'ai été satisfait tant du service que de la nourriture consommé en qualité comme en quantité. Stay at this hotel knowing it is very expensive for what you get the reviews are accurate. The rooms are out dated. Bin I’m my room not emptied from last guests stains down the wall side of the toilet. No toilet paper. Does smell damp but no mould to speak of. Breakfast and coffee good but ran out of a lot of items, had to ask multiple times for the basics like milk or cutlery and food. 2 Pints of beer and a whiskey 19pounds very expensive. Most interactions with staff met with a total lack of interest. Great location and good strong shower.

There is no atmosphere in this restaurant. Dinner was clearly not freshly prepared. We hadn't eaten anything so poor since the 1970s. Breakfast was much better though.

Food was excellent I had squid cooked to perfection husband had a vegan option. Meal enjoyed while watching the sun set under the skye bridge Staff were friendly and helpful

Myself and my partner stayed at the kings Arms Hotel for a long weekend and we absolutely loved it! The room we had was a lovely double room with en suit and a see view. It was very cosy and clean. We had breakfast and dinner for the whole period of our stay and it was lovely. Great choice of food to pick from the menu and very well presented. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The took our bags to the room for us and gave us great information about the island and places to visit. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Ordered fish supper at lunch time for takeaway. The half fish I got was tasty, pity I didn't get to taste other half. The chips were of the frozen variety ( YUK) cooked in oil I think was several days old, you can tell by the inedible taste.

We had a lovely stay at The Kings Arms. All the staff were delightful and very helpful. They had fantasic local knowledge, giving us tips of places to visit and local amenities. The rooms were of a good standard; clean and recently refitted. However, we would say the only reason to visit the restaurant is for the staff and the views. For the money, the food isn't worth it. We had some hard, dried out spaghetti that had been sitting on the side for a while, and microwaved roasts. But the staff were most helpful when we had an issue with allergies, changing the food for us without issue. Overall, worth the stay, but eat somewhere else

After an issue with the original booking in an AirBNB property in Kyle of Lochalsch we were homeless for 2 nights. After visiting Kyle Hotel who didn't have an vacancies he managed to find a room for us at The Kings Arms. Never been so grateful. We arrived the night before to check the booking and pay for the room so we could start to relax. We were greeted by amazing reception staff who from then on just went above and beyond every request we had. Had a lovely twin ensuite room was at the back of the hotel which obviously didnt encourage a nice view but we had the best view out the front. We had food one of the nights, smaller menu due to covid and less guests but a good choice. The drinks menu was endless and very reasonable priced. The staff in the restaurant always stopped to have a chat and were really friendly. Cant wait to re-visit again.

Stayed for one night in room 24 nice clean modern and quiet room only downside was no plug near the mirror so could do hair!! Also got ticket parked outside would be good to let people coming where it is safe to park before they come

We stayed at this hotel on Saturday 22nd September as part of a coach party tour. We were 4 friends together on the tour, and when we entered the dining room for dinner in the evening the waitress insisted that we split up and find places on tables already populated, even though there were at least a dozen tables free. We protested but the staff were intransigent and haughty, and only when we threatened to leave and involved our tour driver were we begrudgingly allowed to sit together. The waitress claimed that they were expecting more guests, but only two more arrived the whole time we dined. To make matters worse we were served last, and again in the morning at breakfast, even though we were not last in. This made us late for our coach departure. The restaurant staff at this hotel need immediate refresher courses in customer service, they were terrible.

When a coach is in a hurry a preordered lunch for 50 of soup and sandwiches for £6 allowed a short stop to keep the bus moving. Saves people from being hungry.

Got back late from a tour and needed something to eat. There was not much choice in the area and most had closed or was about to close. We thought we were going to go hungry. We were very lucky to come across the kings arms hotel restaurant. We asked if they could help us and they were very helpful and welcoming. They showed us in to the restaurant and brought over menus for us to chose from. They we're very good and did not rush us at any point even though you could tell they were getting ready to close. Our server was Cristian-Robert Dumitrascu he was very good he made sure we had everything we needed. The food came quick and was very very good. There was a slight smell of paint so you could tell they had been doing up the restaurant. If we're back in the area we would look at staying in this hotel.

Stopped in while on a tour on the pub side. It had a great selection of draught and bottled beers, as well as single malts. Cool place!

This hotel was probably once a lovely place to stay. The location is good and views from the rooms are lovely - even in rainy weather. The hotel however is terrible. The smell of stale smoke through the place is probably one enduring memory. However, the beds were clean but the rooms were tired and furniture in need of replacement. The breakfast was tasteless and miserable and we wre told off by a member of staff for finding our own place to sit in what was an almost empty dining room. The bar was lacking in atmosphere and the poor barman had to dash between rooms everytime we made an order at the bar. The price/ room was very expensive - another reason for not recommending this hotel to anyone unless, of course, you’re desperate.

We ate here as part of a large (22 people) tour group and were pleasantly surprised by the menu choices and the way they were presented. We enjoyed our app of Smoked Mackerel with horseradish cream, mains of Sweet potato bean and spinach Vegetarian Rogan Josh, cauliflower, braised rice and coriander naan & Highland Beef Casserole with potatoes and carrots, and the yummy Scottish ice creams

We were a party of 3 travelling with 2 small dogs and had booked 2 rooms at The Kings Arms on a BB rate.We arrived at the same time as a large group so the reception was extremely busy and the receptionist was a little harassed. That being said we were made to feel like an inconvenience. The receptionist seemed annoyed that we had arrived with dogs and asked did you tell us? We pointed out that there was no way to indicate this at the time of booking, and she duly changed our rooms to ground floor access. We were then told that the dogs were not allowed in any of the public areas, bar or restaurant which was extremely disappointing. We ended up going to a bar at the end of the road where spent £55 on food and drink. Given that we were charged £155 for 1 night at this hotel, I can't say I was impressed.  The price was highly inflated, the hotel far from impressive and given that the dogs were charged for their stay there should have been facilities for them. The hotel is not dog friendly and I would not rush back to stay there at the rates stated,it is clearly false advertising.

We enjoyed a great meal with an extra treat thrown in. The lounge served coffee and tea after dinner which was nice. You could see the bridge to Skye from the hotel which was very picture perfect. There was a lift but bags were taken to the room. The lift was kinda scary with floor to ceiling green carpet! Room was on the small side but had everything you'd need. Breakfast was cooked to order and very good.

Stayed for a long weekend, hotel is very nice if a little tired, upgrading ongoing so should be lovely in time, hopefully the will get rid of the carpet on the walls of the lift, great view from the room towards Skye Bridge, staff were bit gloomy looking but when you speak to them they are very pleasant, Christian was especially helpful. Breakfast was good however the evening meals were outstanding especially the fish dishes, my wife has the chicken on the first night and said it was excellent.

Visited with family this month - lovely hotel - staff very keen to please - nothing to much bother - food was excellent and hotel spotless. Weather was sunny if not brisk - we had a sea view which was stunning - lovely spot and really nice friendly hotel

Found the food in the restaurant to be fresh and good value for the money with local seafood available.

Came mid-September and managed to get a table without waiting.

On arrival there was a dog lying on the reception counter top. I have a dog but don't think this is appropriate. Anyway I was given a room on the second/top floor. Got there by the oldest ramshackle lift I've ever been in. In fact once I got up to 2nd floor decided right away not to use the lift again. The room I was given was an attic style room which with it's sloping bedroom ceiling wasn't any good to me being 6ft 6. So went back via staircase to reception to complain and was given a room on the ground floor. Room 11 like the room I was give upstairs it was right at the rear end of the building in fact the very last room.

Arrived here late with no other resturants arounf decides to go with fish and chips to be 9n the safe side. Smelly greasy food. We wish we'd gone to bed hungry.

Après une très bonne version du Haggis en entrée, le reste a été plutôt décevant sans aucun problème majeur toutefois: juste un important manque d'imagination dans les plats proposés et leur présentation et une cuisine particulièrement riche en matière grasse, surtout en ce qui concerne les desserts.

Estuvimos solo una noche. La chica de la recepción muy borde y seca. El hotel y la habitación antiguos y dejados. La habitación sencilla, limpia, con vistas al mar y con toallas, jabón, galletas y te. El desayuno correcto. El precio caro pero en la Isla de Skye todo es caro.

Well arrived at hotel for late check in. In fairness booking for 9pm think last available. however if as is case on Isle of Skye catering for tourists not unusual to eat at this hour, especially through the long light nights.

Stuck here because of tour drops off. Would never have come here on our own. From the outside it looks okay and when you walk into the restaurant it doesn't look bad though the hotel looks like a trucker stop. They don't want to serve us because of the hour being close to 8pm. We were told let us know what you want to see if the kitchen still has it. Ordered some type of mushroom appetizer, garlic mushrooms, that showed up as canned mushroom soup over bread. Husband had soup. Soup was okay. The service was not great. There were other tour groups there but they didn't seem to want to serve. Breakfast was similar. Hard to get them serve and we had to be out of there to meet the tour group at a particular time. Not helpful. Cold breakfast. Would not recommend this place.

The restaurant is for the guests in the hotel but they will take non-guests as walk-ins off the street. They do schedule the guests, mostly from bus tours by the look of it, so you need to check that they have space before you decide.

Excellent restaurant qui a de nombreuses spécialités locales. Les poissons sont bons, normalement cuit ''Al dente' accompagne de puree de pommes de terre et de petits pois verts pas trop cuit( il faut aimer). Les desserts c est surtout d'excellentes patisseries ou de coupe de fruits

Restaurant was empty for dinner and you would have to reserve at least 4 hours before to get some food made. We strongly felt that we were better to go somewhere else to eat. They offer free breakfast with room, in the morning from 7:30 to 9. As for the hotel, very basic but clean. Location and view is great.

We had a dinner just after the rush, scallops on black pudding a bit different, the roast chicken with potatoes and veg. went down very well but I couldn't finish the ample helpings. Staff very busy but efficient.

My partner decided to give it a go so I tagged along.We ordered a burger and a pork which both felt like rubber glue and a rock.Complain given to waiter regarding this however, we were told that the chef did not see anything wrong with it. No apologies from chef and other staff members could not care less. The receptionist was also very rude. AVOID!!

Das Hotel ist ziemlich abgenutzt und allgemein ziemlich altmodisch. Die Sauberkeit war okay, aber die Möbel sehr abgenutzt und es zieht. Das Essen im Restaurant kam sowohl zum Abend als auch zum Frühstück sehr schnell, waren aber keine kulinarischen Highlights. Keines der Gerichte war gewürzt. Einziger Pluspunkt ist das sehr freundliche Personal, vor allem an der Bar.

A very old hotel, partly refurbished, but lacking in more up to date amenities, such as wifi only available in downstairs lounge.In our bedroom on the second floor, the window wall was slanting,, but the curtains hung vertical, so not not blocking the light out, and giving cause for no privacy from people in opposite bedrooms across the yard. Not God! Comfort of the bed could have been much better, but as we were only there for 2 nights, made do. Both breakfast and evening meals were plentiful, and were served very quickly, despite 2 coach loads of other guests. Would we stay there again, probably not.

Had to wait for the staff to check whether they could squeeze us in for diner as apparently the restaurant was fairly fully booked, but after a minute or two were taken to a table. Good choice selection on the reasonably priced menu, from which we had Scottish braised Lamb Shank and grilled Salmon followed by Apple Crumble with Custard. A pleasant dining area with staff who were keen to be of assistance. Intending returning, but will probably ring ahead to book a table.

Went on a WTT trip was booked in this hotel. I'm sure it was because it was so cheap.First desk lady was very rude. The hotel was terrible and dirty. The food was cafeteria food. Will not travel with WTT again because. They didn't do there job,by checking out hotel.

This hotel is very very run down. Capet is thread bear, rooms were small and beds were suitable for children. Its very old fashioned with very little to offer other than location. Large holes in the ceiling by the lift, To be honest I was shocked at the very poor standard this hotel was in. I was booked in on a DBB rate but did not have either. I was very upset when I saw my room. Parking is very limited. I would not stay again EVER

We had a very nice dinner there. We did not have reservations, but they worked us in. This is a nice upscale restaurant, but not expensive and I would recommend it.

No esperes lujos y modernidades en uno de los únicos hoteles de la isla de Skye. Hacen lo que pueden con lo que tienen, y te atienden con una sonrisa.Las habitaciones son muy sencillas, aunque correctas. Cuentan con secador y radiador para toallas (hay hoteles más chic que ni siquiera tienen...). El desayuno abundante y variado, pudiendo elegir entre el continental y el típico english breakfast.El personal es atento y amable.

We arrived towards the end of lunch service to an empty dining room, which could benefit from re-decoration. There was no atmosphere. The waitress was attentive and friendly but seemed to have difficulty understanding us properly. We ordered two portions of mussels and requested larger portions as a main course rather than a starter. When our food arrived it was a really small starter portion, at first I was disappointed until I tasted them and discovered I wouldn't have been able to have eat a bigger portion as they were bland, most of them were really small in crumbly shells and found a few bits of broken shell floating in the sauce. Ordered with a side portion of chips which were edible, obviously frozen rather than freshly produced chips. My daughter ordered a kids macaroni, she only eat about half of it and described it as ok, when she usually loves macaroni. My friends ordered fish and chips which they enjoyed but have eat better quality food for less elsewhere.

We enjoyed our Dinner at The Kings Arms, but it was spooky a bit by the hotel focusing on looking after a German tour group. We booked in for dinner but had to wait for a tour group (This also happened for breakfast)We enjoyed some 'Scottish' food in an ordinary dinning room. The Hotel has great views but that was not exploited. The wait staff were good, but struggled to understand Australian English.

Stopped here for a bite to eat whilst staying in Plockton. It was okay. The staff were friendly and obliging. The food was okay, not brilliant for the price. It wasn't an expensive dinner but I've had better for the same price. The dinning room is a bit dated and I suspect they get most of their business from coach holidays.

Got to the hotel early, so had to wait a bit for them to prepare over 20 main dishes for 6pm. The waiters were not the friendliest but the main person organising the staff was great. The large room itself was very basic and bland, in need of modernisation.The food was very tasty tho, We ordered the lamb shank and loved it.

My nephew and myself booked in and spent a night in The Kings Arms Hotel in Kyleakin just off the Skye Bridge when we were touring The Western Highlands of Scotland.We booked into the restaurant for our evening meal once we had settled into our room and I must say that both the meals and the service were first class and prices were very reasonable. We had roast lamb and roast chicken for dinner and can recommend both dishesThe dining room overlooked the Skye Bridge and had plenty of tables and chairs to suit all sizes of groups of travellers.I would like to make a special mention of the young Hungarian girl who I think was the Restraurant Manager? Sorry but I never got her name :-( Her command of English was very good and she had a very welcoming and warm personality. She took the time to chat and also made shure that we had everything we required and that were happy with the service and meals. She was already waiting on us going down for breakfast and once again I will give the service and the meals top marks.The rooms were spotless and very comforable. the only litle niggle was the wifi signal was weak in our room but there was a good signal in the lounge.I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending to anyone staying in the Kings Arms Hotel it has a nice location, with comfortable clean rooms, good affordable meals and drinks and excellent customer service.

We have been for dinner 'cause we booked 2 nights in The Kings Arms Hotel. It's in the centre of Kyleakin, very easy to find. The car park besides is always quite full, better to park a few minutes away. The place is quite nice, big and warm, quite tidy. The personnel is quite kind, friendly. The food was quite good, good to taste different specialities especially fish plates, good sweeties. It's better to book in advance especially for dinner 'cause it's a small village and this is one of the very few places where you can have dinner until 8.30. Good!!!

Our tour group was lodged at the Kings Arms and ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant. We got pretty good food and decent service. This came as somewhat of a surprise to me, since the Kings Arms is, to put it kindly, not a very good hotel. I would have certainly chosen to dine elsewhere if the meals weren’t included in the tour.Our servers were youngsters from Eastern Europe. There were some language problems, but nothing that couldn’t be worked out. Like other diners, I found it bothersome to get my beer at the bar way over on the other side of the lobby and bring it to the table myself.

Had dinner & breakfast here as part of our tour of Scotland. The restaurant is okay - the carpet is ancient, worn & rolled up in a series of wrinkles in many areas. The staff is efficient & functionally friendly.Food was good & selection was okay. One oddity - we had to go down to the bar at the far end of the building to get our drinks rather than the waiting staff bringing them to us.Still much better than the horror story of the accomodations here.

Io e mia moglie abbiamo avuto la malsana idea di cenare in questo "ristorante" giusto perché alloggiavamo nello stesso Hotel...Esperienza pessima, ambiente squallido ed asettico, ma soprattutto cibo assolutamente insipido!!! Durante il nostro viaggio abbiamo girato la Scozia in lungo ed in largo, ma questa è stata indubbiamente la nostra peggiore esperienza culinaria in territorio scozzese. Assolutamente sconsigliato!!!

Food was average at best. No atmosphere; just utilitarian - dinner. Menu was limited though service was ok.

Vor einiger Zeit haben wir bei einem Aufenthalt in Kyeakin versucht, im Kings Arms Restaurant zu essen. Es war Abend, wir überlegten, wohin wir gehen sollen, schauten von außen durch die Fenster und sahen, daß die Tische sehr schön gedeckt waren. Fast wie in Frankreich! So beschlossen wir, hier unser Abendessen einzunehmen. Drinnen wurden wir erst mal an der Rezeption aufgehalten und äußerten unseren Wunsch betr. des Abendessens. da müsse er erst fragen, antwortete der junge mann und wir gingen derweil auf einen Whisky an die Bar. nach einer Weile kam er wieder und sagte, daß dies o.k. wäre und wir könnten im Speisesaal Platz nehmen. Gesagt, getan, aber damit begann auch das Unheil! Wir wurden in besagten Saal geführt, wo inzwischen auch eine große Reisebus-Gruppe eingetrudelt war. Wir wurden dazu gequetscht. Eine Speisekarte bekamen wir nicht zu sehen, stattdessen wurde uns der selbe erbärmliche Krötenfraß serviert, den die Pauschaltouristen vorgesetzt bekamen. Auf unseren zaghaften Einwand wurde uns erklärt, daß es nichts anderes gäbe. Da nützten auch die hübsch eingedeckten Tische nichts. So hatten wir uns das nicht vorgestellt!Nun wissen wir nicht, ob das da immer so zugeht oder ob das nur ein einzelnes "Versehen" war. Wir sehen nur immer die Reisebusse davor stehen und unser fazit lautet ganz eindeutig: Da gehen wir nichtmehr hin!!!
