The food was really nice. Loved the fish pie. Excellent. Had it twice. Slightly disappointed in the small fish salad. Plenty of fish but not enough salad.

Excellent food at a good price and great service. We had Sunday roasts and they are available in small or large size. All tasted good and the cheesecake dessert was delicious.

Brought my parents & sister for Sunday lunch to celebrate all their birthdays. Faultless, friendly service & excellent food - thanks all 🙂

we were struggling to find a good Pub in the area, and this one fits the bill on all points. we sat outside in their gardens area, which has been done out in a lovely way. the service was great. all Covid regulations adhered to,. the food is home made, Hubby had the Soup, followed by Fishermans Pie, which he struggled to finish.! having seen the portions, I went for the small size of their Lasagne which Im so pleased to have done that. !! this really is worth going to, its a lovely Pub, staff very friendly, it really is worth going to this vi

This is the only pub in town and is a traditional alehouse with friendly staff. There is also an outside garden with tables. We ate in the bar and shared the fish pie. It was very good indeed and enough for two - washed down with local beer of course. An opportunity for a good meal in a Cornish pub.

Friendly helpful attentive staff . Wonderful menu with plenty of choices to suit all tastes. Our family chose fresh tasty fish and chips , kapsan curry and delicious homemade steak and ale pie along with a vegetarian lasagna , empty plates all round. I love the idea of the smaller meal options Available too. All our meals were just so delicious, well presented and yummy. Tasty puddings, again a good selection on offer. Fabulous service.

Tried to visit this pub three times during our weeks holiday, and was turned away every single time.Unfriendly staff, and felt like we were a burden every single time. I completely understand that there are Covid protocols that need to be followed and adhered to, but this was the only place we were made to feel unwelcome during our holiday.It’s such ashame, as our cottage was less than a five minute walk away, and we’d have used it most nights. Instead we used The Dolphin Inn, which was about a 10 minute drive away.Our faces obviously didn’t fit!

We were very pleasantly surprised by this authentic little pub.We received a warm welcome by the staff and the food was beautifully cooked and very well presented. What was also very nice, there was no time limit placed on the table we reserved which unfortunately had occurred in other pubs in the vicinity. No names mentioned! In view of the recent opening, the atmosphere was easy and well organised. We appreciated it was a lot of extra work with extra measures having to be put in place and this establishment does it extremely well.We would highly recommend a visit to this pub!There is a car park which is characterful with a slightly narrow entrance if you are driving a lwide vehicle, but all very achievable.

So glad this lovely pub has reopened. Had a lovely meal on the first evening, the sea bass fillets were lovely, as was the salmon and sea food platter. Our friends rump of lamb was a very generous portion and looked and tasted delicious according to our friend. The Proper Job was very well received by my husband and friend. We were made very welcome as usual by Darren & Kay.

Best pub food in Cornwall, my wife and I have been visiting here for years whilst on holiday.Always had great food here The Sunday Roasts are wonderful, great choice too.Tribute beer first class, can’t wait to visit again this summer.Also felt very safe regarding covid due to the care taken.

We really enjoyed our takeaway meal on Saturday night. The steak pie with generous portions of veg and gravy, was delicious and presented in a very appetising way, for a takeaway! Some dishes are available is smaller portions which is really good. The scampi and chips for the less hungry, was perfect as well. Very easy to arrange by phone and collection was very smooth and covid compliant. Highly recommended!

Visited this pub twice last week while on holiday. Felt very COVID safe. Staff were really friendly and service was really good. Most importantly the food was great. Really liked the fish pie, it was the best I’ve tasted. Also liked the fact they offered two sizes in some of the meals on the menu. Hope they survive these strange times.

Great takeaway from the King's Arms last night - very tasty lasagne and the scampi and chips were great. Fantastic to get good pub food to take away in these strange times. Even better, the packaging was all recyclable.

Enjoyed a fabulous meal with great service at the Kings Arms last night. Nice warm welcome by the host, delicious meals including Fish and Chips, Rump Steaks and Homemade Pie, lovely. Reasonably priced Ales and Ciders. Was also very impressed with the Covid measures in place, very well thought out. We wondered if the previous reviewer went to a different pub to us! Great job, we’ll be back!

Popped in for a quick pint, the pub clearly taking COVID restrictions seriously. I had a pint of Tribute which really was tremendous. Garden area lovely to sit in, no qualms at all.

We booked a meal with our friends at The Kings Arms and I have to say with the current situation all the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful to our requirements. Food was excellent as too was the drinks. The social distancing aspect was well set out and clear information throughout the pub explaining processes with Covid. In very difficult times The Kings Arms have done a fantastic job to make you feel at ease and relaxed with friends at a quality cornish Pub.

This pub is now serving meals indoors with advance booking. A difficult one to allocate stars, since we enjoyed a really nice meal here with friends, so no complaints about food or service, BUT we did ring in advance to enquire about Covid19 precautions and were reassured they were in place, including safe distancing tables and hand sanitiser on arrival. In reality, although there was a table for sanitiser with a notice there was no sanitiser in place, tables were safely distanced and there's a one-way entry/exit flow, but none of the staff who served our table were wearing face protection, and certainly were not observing safe distancing. Only one person who greeted us and showed us to our table, wore a visor. Since this was the first time we'd ventured into an indoor public area it's certainly not something we will be repeating.

A friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the tapas sharer - we sat outside in the pretty garden, surrounded by lovely flowers and shrubs. We had booked our meal ahead so it was all ready for us when we arrived. Social distancing was observed so safety all round. I would highly recommend a meal there, very welcoming and friendly with a lovely social atmosphere.

Visited this traditional pub/restaurant on saturday night whilst visiting friends. BRILLIANT. After receiving a lovely warm welcome, we had a superb meal, piping hot, really tasty. A wide choice to choose from, can highly recommend the fish pie and the super fresh cod. Proper food in a proper pub, nice atmosphere, lovely staff.

In Lockdown,looking for somewhere open on a sunny day. We were rewarded by a warm welcome and a generous, well provided Ante Pasta to share. It was memorable and had surprise elements created by the chef. The olive bowl had slivers of garlic,chilli and lemon added. We sat in the sheltered garden with some shade for madame, drank Proper Job and enjoyed the lemon meringue pie. Despite Covid circumstances, the atmosphere and welcome gave promise of what is usually offered. A good find off the main tourist roads.

Excellent service considering the limitations of Covid rules. A limited menu but the quality is as high as ever. Staff are being very careful and providing attentive service without being over powering. Felt very safe with all the measures in place.

Top pub, top beer, top food, top hosts ………… miss this place so much during COVID 19 lockdown - and I’m not alone !!

I had the small cod and chips, delicious and good portion. My husband had the fish platter which he thoroughly enjoyed. All beautifully presented too. Good beers too, and a nice roaring fire. Oh and a big car park and sheltered garden, would be nice in the warmer weather.

We have been here a few times with my Grandmother who lives in the retirement village close by. The Sunday lunches are excellent with lovely fresh vegetables and large portions, as well as smaller portion options for my Gran. Tuesdays they do an OAP special which is brilliant value. Always friendly and helpful, the only downside is having to go up to the bar when you arrive to get your table, and then at the end to pay, especially with an elderly unsteady relative.

We have just eaten Xmas Lunch @ Kings Arms with friends & we must say it was delicious & fantastic value for money. The service was very good & the pub has a lovely cosy feeling !! many thanks we will be back. (Table 10)

As the Americans would say this pub serves up an awesome Sunday roast lunch. We both had the beef although lamb was on offer. I had the large plate at 12 pounds while my wife had the small plate at 8 pounds. Two Yorkshire’s and three roast potatoes on the large plate accompanied by four slices of oh so tender beef. A little too well done for me but extremely tasty. In fact the whole plate with excellent vegetables was very good indeed. This pub was recommended by a neighbour and we will definitely be returning.

Tonight we had the best pub meal since we have been in the UK, fantastic service from the waitress, bar and above all the Chef. Not one complaint from our party and nothing but praise for the food. Do yourself a favour and try this place out.

When my wife, my sister and i walked into the pub, we immediately noticed that some tables were occupied and all the others had reserved on them. Fortunately we had also reserved one. This is always a sign of a good restaurant. Our order was taken promptly and when the food arrived we were delighted with what we had chosen. I had the traditional Sunday roast. The lamb was tasty and all the vegetables (and there were plenty) were just right. My wife said that the fish pie she had was equally as good as the ones she makes and my sister thoroughly enjoyed the lasagne. The deserts were also very good. Two of us had the sundaes and one the sticky toffee pudding. The helpings were generous and all in all it made for a very good Sunday lunch. The staff were also very pleasant.

Good wholesome menu, good range of beers and wines. Reasonably priced, attentive staff and good ambiance. Try to go when they have live music for even more atmosphere.

Invited 9 of my family who live in Cornwall and Devon for Sunday lunch at Kings Arms all had different dishes and all of them said ,without prompting ,how lovely, the food was and they would come back again.Plus on top of that that the portions were huge to the extent that my wife and 2 others couldn`t eat it all.Although they still managed dessert which again were huge.I would also like to mention the staff who were brilliant because our lot arrived at different times wanted different things etc.etc.and they handled it all with a smile so thank you all at KINGS ARMS,Tregony.

Ate here last night for the last night of our holiday. We’d booked a table, as it was a Saturday night. When we arrived we were told the main restaurant was full, so we had a table in their small dining room. Fine in itself at the time. Food was excellent, portions are huge! We had Fish Pie and Steak & Kidney pie - both excellent, followed by Black Forest Sundaes - again very big!

We found this by accident seeking another pub at St Ewe and we glad we did. As we walked in we happened to notice the superb presentation of food for other diners. Portions are quite big so don't eat too much beforehand. Well worth finding with a neat car park behind as a reminder of its history.

I visit this pub regularly with a Lunch Group and everyone enjoys it every time and never had cause to complain

We have been here three times during our two week holiday. Once for a drink then Sunday lunch and an evening meal. We were made to feel so welcome each time not always easy with three young children! The food was delicious.plus a great selection of children's meals and gins!! Thank you for the hospitality.

We tried this pub on three separate nights and found the food well cooked, good value and good portion sized. The place was very popular, as one could see from the numbers dining at the pub and all the staff were very friendly and very accommodating. We found live entertainment one night and the place was packed with people of all ages. It's a warm and welcoming place.

Was trying to find somewhere to eat on our last night in Cornwall. So glad we chose here. The beef lasagne & veggie curry in particular were amazing & I highly recommend!

We called in at the Kings Arms early evening without booking. The staff were very accommodating even though they were very busy. The food was excellent with the service to match.

Had a fab meal here following a busy day exploring the gardens of heligan and mevagissey. Wonderful food, which was all fresh and super tasty. Generous portions and generally a really nice pub overall!

Wife, Daughter, her Partner and I were touring Devon, Cornwall etc in a 4 berth camper van when we came across this little gem and decided to have an early dinner. What a great decision that turned out to be. The decor was beautiful, seating comfortable and, although there was no actual fire it, the smell of wood smoke permeated the air, It was lovely. The drinks & meals were ordered and the drinks arrived after a short wait, followed shortly after by our meals which were piping hot. The meals were varied and very well cooked and presented. They included Fish Pie, Steak & Ale Pie, Gammon Roast/Boiled potatoes with Salad and Chicken Breast with Chips & Peas. These were followed by Pavlova, Apple Pie & Custard and Ice Cream.

Saturday 15 June 19, My husband and I went out for dinner with our friends Dave and Jill to ‘The Kings Arms’ public house in Tregony, which once was an old coaching inn back in the 18th century when Tregony was a thriving harbour port before the river silted up and became no longer navigable.

A group of about 18 of us went for lunch, having pre-ordered our meals before. They were friendly and efficient and managed to produce our meals quickly and getting the meals to our 2 groups - one inside and one outside! The meals were all enjoyed. We had a variety of meals like vegetable or beef lasagne, jacket potatoes with different fillings etc. They were all good prices and good portions (they had different sizes for different appetites) and well worth another visit!

Beautiful sunday lunch (went for the lamb) roasties and vegetables delicious, lovely atmosphere and a nice pint, dog friendly too so rosie was welcome and got a treat. Will most certainly visit again

Delicious pub food, great customer service. There are board games to play while waiting and a lovely outdoor area.

Chose this pub as a halfway meeting place for relatives visiting the southwest! Absolutely delighted with our choice! Ale and cider very well kept. Staff very pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. Food was very well presented, and extremely reasonable price.

Reading a couple of reviews on here they talk about typical pub food , well I'm very envious of these guys then as their locals must be great !

Food was great. All of us had the fish and chips. I would have given 5* if they did home made chips! Lots of games to keep kids entertained. Desserts were lovely. Spot on really.

It is a traditional looking pub with open fireplace, beams and a typical English food. They have a small menu with traditional food but there is a special board as well.

Very popular with the locals, reservations are a good idea. They will try to fit you in if there’s room. Sunday traditional roast and good puddings should please the hungry.

Came for lunch with friends and children including my double buggy which can my difficult to fit in places. The lady and the chap were very helpful and accommodating and the food was lovely. Great atmosphere & fire burning :-)

One of the best pub interior makeovers undertaken by St Austell having the sense to retain all of the character of the original coaching inn.Sunday roast was superb.My friends both had the 'small' roast lamb' which was big and I had the 'standard' which was huge.(£7.25 and £11.00) both being terrific value.Came with all the usual roasty bits and pieces and plenty of gravy.Nothing but praise for all of the servings.

Friendly service and nice food at this country pub. Decent menu and it’s nice to see a small portion option on a number of the main courses - ideal for older children. Definitely recommended. Good value for money too.

the food in this pub was very poor. didn’t enjoy any of our food as it was greasy or over cooked. the food was very bland and unseasoned... do not recommend.

We were staying in Tregony village at a lovely Airbnb. We went to this Pub on Friday night for dinner, and had a great meal. The food was perfectly prepared and delicious, especially the lamb shank and the fish salad. Friendly staff and servers. We went back a second night because it was so good and close by.

On the recommendation of our B&B; hosts tried the Kings Arms and were glad we did.The atmosphere was attractive and the hosts friendly.We were welcomed and made to feel at home;much appreciated after a long day of travel.The menu was varied and reasonably priced.My wife and I have quite different food preferences but we found items which suited our palates very well .My Italian dish was generous and very tasty.

Welcomed by the Lady who runs the place and a few locals in at the Restaurant which shows how a village pub survives in these day,s. They serve smaller potions for the older folk and the less hunger, the ale is of good stock and popular with all. This Pub has a disabled toilet for the customers.

Lovely traditional pub. They have a good range of hand pump beers, the menu was also traditional and very tasty. We had the steak and ale pie, which came with a variety of vegetables. The portions were huge, leaving no room for dessert!

After a long, slow and hungry journey across the Roseland peninsular, we found the Kings Arms open and offering a delicious menu choice. Our small, elderly Jack Russell was spoilt with affection and treats. Staff are friendly, caring and the food freshly cooked. A good choice of wine, ales and gin made for a debate on who was driving home! Lovely evening - thank you! Photo is duck with rhubarb compote and hake with beetroot purée.

We ha dinner here in the garden and were very disappointed by the food. A fish pie that tasted like it had been heated up from frozen, mostly potato with some sliced artificial crab/ seafood stick, a couple of shrimps and perhaps a taste of fish, really poor for 15 pounds. Steak pie was as bad with under-cooked spuds, overcooked veg with a piece of soggy pastry on top of a couple of pieces of meat swimming in glutinous gravy. The redeeming factors were the lovely garden and great Cornish bitter.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch then came back for a last meal before we went home. Both times we had great food, good service & good beer. Well done, well worth a visit.

We visit this pub on a regular basis when we are in Cornwall. The menu is varied, the food is consistently good and the service first class. The Sunday roasts are delicious and half portions are available if required. We've visited on many occasions and have always been made to feel welcome. Overall, excellent, well presented food, excellent value for money and highly recommended.

Wonderful staff contribute to a good pub experience in attractive surroundings in the non-coastal village of Tregony.

This place is a rare find. The food is a bit pricey, but you get quality. Only marked his t downon accessibility, otherwise it would have been a five star!

We saw this place as we passed and decided to pop in on our way back. Pretty good decision as the food was really nice. Korev on tap which is a lovely pint of lager.

Spent 2 evenings in here as I was staying in a local B&B;, both were very nice indeed. Special mention to the staff who are superb, I came here alone and was very well looked after so thank you. I had the fish pie one evening which was lovely and the traditional burger the following evening which again was nice.Nice Cornish cold beer too. Totally recommend coming here.

Saturday 16th June 18, I came over horrendously sick, so I could not go out for a meal. My husband had a quick wash and brush up and then went out for dinner on his own to ‘The Kings Arms’ public house in Tregony, which once was an old coaching inn back in the 18th century when Tregony was a thriving harbour port before the river silted up and became no longer navigable.

We came here for Sunday lunch, three adults and our dog. Was made very welcome despite not booking a table. We sat out in the lovely courtyard area. We chose one roast beef and two lamb but they only had one portion. The owner (we think) suggested sharing the lamb between two and having beef also. The meet was very tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly (not rock hard as in other places we’ve visited). Puddings cheesecake and crumble DEVINE. Please visit this place you won’t be disappointed. Staff were lovely and friendly. Will definitely be back!!!

Giving a 4 star for very nice food, but 1 star for a very long wait for food, about an hour, we understand that they were busy but this was 8 o'clock in the evening on a Sunday, if there was a long wait then we should have been told on arrival, the waitress who was serving us was excellent and very apologetic as she told us at one point out meals wouldn't be long, 20 minutes or more later we still hadn't received our meals, she was again very apologetic, this was in know way her fault and for her customer service and attitude a 5 star.when we finally got our meal it was like I said very nice for that we cannot fault.We can only assume our order was forgotten as our meals were offered to us for free. The chap who brought our meals was also very attentive

A group of about 15 of us walked in the area. We went to the pub to pre-order our lunches before the walk, The service was friendly and efficient. We went and sat outside in the garden which was really well looked after and had plenty of plants. We all enjoyed our meals from sandwiches to main meals. They also provided both small and large portions of their main meals - their small portion was fine for all of us and their prices were excellent.

The menu was varied and good prices. They catered for smaller eaters which was good. The pub itself is very old but the current owners have made it into a first class establishment with excellent friendly staff. The food was delicious and served quickly. You can either eat in the bar or separate restaurants. The gardens are very pretty with tables, chairs and umbrellas. Good car park.

The beer and food is always good at the Kings Arms. A little dissapointed it was Saturday night and quiet, it lacked a little atmosphere, but in 15 years of visiting the area, that was a one off. Look forward to visiting in early October whe we return to stay at Ruan High Lanes.

We're just back from The Kings Arms. We had 3 Lasagnes and a fish n chips. Perfectly cooked at a reasonable price with fast and friendly service. Parking at the rear through the arch to the right of the pub.

I have been using this pub more in recent years though I remain a "not really a pub person" sort of bloke. However, this pub remains reliable for its quality of food, beautifully kept ales and a friendly atmosphere. Being too tired to cook after a long day out we dropped in, and thankfully found they had a table free. I always enjoy the Tribute ale and recommend it to anyone, so that was a good start. My main course of mackerel was lovely and yet again the chocolate brownie was superb - possibly the best I ever had!

I was staying locally and this pub was booked for me. Friendly people. Lovely garden. I had a fish starter and fish pie as highly recommended. Portions great.

We were from overseas travelling around the UK for a month, usually staying in new accommodation every day. We were recommended by our B&B; host to try this pub as it was closest to our stay. We were tired by the end of the day and specifically only went to eat and have a drink then return back. My husband got the history from the manager on the building which dated back to the 16th century. The food was very tasty, I opted for the seafood pie, whilst he had the steak. It filled the spot!!

Passing through Tregony after a long day out with friends, we decided on the spur of the moment to stop and have supper. So pleased we did. The welcome was very warm and friendly, the surroundings traditional but comfortable and clean - and what we tasted of the food was all delicious and home-cooked, rather than from an off-the-peg standard brewery menu, which is unusual. This place obviously has a chef who is interested in serving wholesome, homemade pub classics rather than reheating ready prepared mass-produced foodstuffs from a large supplier.

We arrived at the Kings Arms, Tregony, at just after 1.45pm on a Tuesday - the board outside said they were serving lunch until 2pm. Nobody was waiting at the bar so we immediately asked about lunch to be told that lunch was finished because "the chef is on his own today and has a lot of clearing up to do". The lady behind the bar did go and check but the chef was only willing to do a jacket potato or sandwich. We had been out all morning and were looking for a more substantial lunch so politely declined and left.

Always get amazing food and service, highly recommend. The setting is idyllic and you’re always greeted with a smile and a friendly atmosphere

We ate here on a Sat night in the restaurant area. Lovely character pub with friendly staff, excellent quality and quantity pub food, a step above average pub grub. Good value for money and worth a visit.

What lovely local place, fire going very welcoming staff very very friendly could not fault the service. We both had steak and wow just wow but came out just as we requested and my pepper corn sauce was amazing. A pleasant welcome change from our normal place we shall defiantly be visiting again
