Very nice old pub with friendly staff. Varied menu with several gluten free options. We had dinner here twice during our stay and were all very pleased. Some dishes are also available in smaller portions.

We visited this pub for the second time this year when we have stayed in St Mawes . Both times it has been warm and welcoming and the food has been exceptional . The value for money is also exceptional . Tonight there was a selection of tagliatelle’s on the menu . I had seafood and my daughter had wild mushroom. They were superb . The pudding looked gorgeous too, although I only had room for a sorbet . One hundred per cent recommend this place .

The Kings Arms excels in both service and quality. The staff are efficient and friendly, always providing professional and prompt service. The facilities are immaculate, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The menu offers a variety of traditional pub dishes, all prepared with evident care and skill. their lasagna, which is exceptionally good, and the fish and chips, arguably the best we've ever had—cooked to absolute perfection. The atmosphere of The Kings Arms is another highlight. It is incredibly cosy, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment that is perfect for any occasion. Despite the high quality of food and service, the prices remain reasonable, offering excellent value for money. Overall, The Kings Arms is a standout pub that combines great food, a warm atmosphere, and stellar service. It comes highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy traditional pub fare in a friendly and professional setting.

This was a lovely find. A real treasure of a pub. We wanted somewhere to eat at a reasonable price with a good selection on the menu and the Kings Arms was perfect. Great choice of pub food with some extra special specials. Choice of small or large made it ideal for taking older kids who didn’t want the children’s menu but couldn’t eat an adult sized meal. Good value prices too.

We went to the King's arms on Saturday night. Me my wife and her elderly mum. We was welcomed with a smile and shown to our table. Two of us had the squid salad starter and my wife had chilli garlic praws with bread board it was all beautiful well preand full of wonderful flavours. For mains we had probably the best fish and chips ive ever tasted.the fish was freash tasting and the batter was amazing could tell it wasn't frozen. So you can keep your rick steins. This is better by a mile and alot kinder on the wallet. Finished off with cornish ice cream. So thanks to the chef 👨🍳 and very attentertive staff this is my go to place. Many thanks paul b

Tuesday 22 August 2023, my husband and I after visiting a nearby garden we drove to ‘The Kings Arms’ public house in Tregony, which once was an old coaching inn back in the 18th century when Tregony was a thriving harbour port before the river silted up and became no longer navigable. We had booked a table here at 7.00pm, and we were served to a wonderful meal. We did not bother with starters, as we were saving ourselves for the main course and dessert. My husband and I for our main course had baked hake with a seafood risotto, which said delicious. We washed all this lovely food down with two pints of ‘Proper Job’ St Austell bitter for my husband, and I had a pint of ‘Rattler’ Cornish cider. We both had the banana waffle with caramel ice cream and toffee sauce for our dessert, which was really scrummy and the perfect finish to our meal. We did not bother with any coffee or tea afterwards as we were both well fed and contented. We have been coming here for many years and it is always a pleasure to return and Kim the landlady is wonderful.

A last minute decision to book a table for our evening meal, but despite it being a late booking the staff were able to fit us in. The decor is lovely, and worth reading the framed posters within the bar about the old inn rules. The menu was great and the specials are well worth a look. As a family of four, with two teenage boys, we ordered a cheese and bacon burger, steak and ale pie and two chicken curries off the specials menu (photos attached). Unfortunately due to the sale of a number of chicken curries that day, there was only enough for one portion, so I swapped one to a vegetable curry, and I was so glad that I did, it was extremely nice. We followed our mains with desserts. The waffles with fruit and ice cream and the fruit crumble - both more than worth it if you have the room! We interacted with a number of staff, and each and everyone one of them were polite and welcoming. We have enjoyed our visit that much we are planning on visiting again before we leave. And will certainly be returning when we are back down on holiday.

The golden lion pub in St. Ives, Cornwall is a big golden lie. The only semi accurate portion of their image is the lion. All of the food tasted as if it was found inside the rotting, months-old carcass of a poached lion. The onion rings were wet and pustular, they tasted as if they were fried in the neck oil of the surly bartender who took our order. The testicular mushrooms were the best thing we ordered even though the garlic mayo on the side resembled a tepid bowl of curdled man-milk. The burgers were obviously cooked on a griddle that hasn’t been cleaned in years. The food had remnants of meals from years past. Giving it a vintage, nostalgic quality. The chicken was shriveled and flavorless with enough mayonnaise goop on it to feed a family of 4. While waiting waiting for the fhood, we had time to take in the odor of unwashed children and great-grandpas ashtray. The table we sat at had a stickiness that I’ve only felt on the gummy underside of a second graders desk. 3 hours later, while writing this review, we taste these rancid flavors once again through accursed burps. This truly remarkable combination of disgusting furniture, surly servers, and god-awful food has truly cemented this place into our hall of shame.
