We stayed here for a couple of nights. Great location, staff were very friendly. Room was perfect for our stay and for the price we paid. Our view was of the square. Breakfast included which was a bonus. An old pub with a lovely feel. Would recommend and visit again.

Booking a table was tricky - nobody answered the 'phone, and when I called in at 4:30, the barman's English wasn't good and he couldn't be sure how to book for us. Luckily, when we went to eat at 5:30, the two sweet waitresses found us a table and we enjoyed a great meal. The food didn't sound enticing as descibed in the menu, but all three courses for both my wife and me were really delightful, tasty and well cooked We'll probably be back again soon; I recommend eating at The Kings Arms, Stow.

We all enjoyed an absolutely delicious roast last Sunday night. Every element of the meal was superb. The vegetables were cooked to perfection the beef was tender and delicious and the gravy was perfect. We also enjoyed our meal with Horseradish sauce. 10 out of 10

We arrived on Friday afternoon. Room was not ready so we walked into town. When we returned, what awaited us was not what we hoped for. The Cottage smelt and was really dirty. Upstairs area still had biscuit crumbs on the carpet. Bathroom shower was dirty and you can see from the photos, behind the chair was concrete and spider webs and wood loose. At least hoover the place. Sofa upstairs was threaded bare and had stuffing coming out of the cushion seat. On Sat morning we had breakfast which was good. Staff were friendly. I went to the gents loo and there was water all over the floor with loo roll mixed in. Blocked drains!! There was excrement on the floor and it stank to high heaven as the toilet had overflowed and had been left like that all night, so we were told by the lady serving breakfast. I reported it to her, so they knew we had. No one came to explain or apologise. So all Saturday we had a drainage company two feet from our door hammering away and jetting. The smell was horrendous. No apology from the Hotel! Shame on you. The cleanliness of the room was unacceptable We also only had one loo roll for two days. Had to go to Coop to buy loo roll for goodness sake. Left my glasses there and have emailed and phoned maybe ten times, left voicemail and said I will pay for the return postage. Yep! No reply. Come on! There is clear lack of management here. Not a family run pub, but a chain run pub which is clear to see. Car park has old carpet dumped in a corner that’s rotting away. We felt ripped off. It was our wedding anniversary and thought we were staying somewhere ‘special’ not the case whatsoever.

Hadn’t booked and just chanced it , simply because it was dog friendly and we were hungry. We were given the spacious window booth . Some tables were reserved but they were able to accommodate several walk ins too. Lovely light quirky decor. Friendly staff. Had the Stilton mushrooms followed by a nut roast which was served piping hot with plenty of gravy . It was delicious . Would recommend .

We booked a table for a Saturday evening. Our table was in the main bar area and a pretty dreadful place to eat as the bar was crowded and there was a constant stream of people entering the main door and walking past to enter different parts of the pub. The food was not great. One of the mushroom starters was overly salty and a feta and sun dried tomato salad was also rammed with salt!! Not reasonably priced with a piece of cheesecake being over £9. Would not recommend.

We went for a roast and its quality/price must be highlighted. We really liked the atmosphere of the place, the warm and friendly treatment of the staff, and the quality of the service. We were a group and everything went at a good pace. We would repeat it again.

This is by far the best and most reasonably price vegetarian roast we have ever had. Really appreciate when vegetarian dishes are priced fairly and as much consideration is given to them as meat dishes! Very cosy atmosphere and friendly service too. Thanks for a lovely visit.

Lovely little find whilst exploring Stow. Nice drinks, lovely log burner and warm friendly atmosphere. Only stopped for a couple of drinks, but the table next to us had bar snacks and they looked delicious!

The perfect place for a restful , clean & comfy stay . Breakfast fabulous . Evening menu great & the steak was super 👌 . Second time we have stayed here for the Cheltenham festival , and it didn’t disappoint. The staff are friendly , helpful & nothing is too much trouble . Highly recommended.

We stayed for 2 nights for a wedding. It was a lovely stay, breakfast was lovely. Our bathroom could do with a little update but didnt spoil our stay. The staff were excellent and so helpful. Shoutout to Riley and Chris. Thank you all so much

Very disappointed with our stay here this past weekend. We had an issue with our shower not draining which we reported on Friday evening but the issue remained all weekend, there was no offer of us moving to another room that had working facilities so for the whole weekend we had to quickly get wet, turn the shower off, shampoo and lather up before turning the water on again to rinse off but we’re still ankle deep in water and worried about overflowing the shower tray and causing damage to the room below. Also disappointing was that, although we had booked a table in the restaurant we realised the restaurant wasn’t open and our special occasion meal on Saturday night would be in the bar area - on an evening that Six Nations Rugby was being shown in the small, confined bar. We therefore had to cancel and trawl round to find an alternative place to have our anniversary meal. We headed back at 10pm planning to have a nightcap in the bar to find the chairs on the tables and the floor being mopped - 10pm on a Saturday night!!!!!! Lastly is was very poor customer service on checking out where the staff member didn’t speak to us, no question of enjoying our stay, goodbye and hope to see you again but just a hand out to take our key. Overall we feel the price paid £256 for 2 nights B&B for such poor facilities and service was very over priced and we will definitely not be recommending this hotel or returning.

Popped in on a cold Monday in Feb, mainly because it was the only pub with people in it. Nice and relaxed inside. Friendly staff. Food was lovely but Fish and chips were to die for with smashed up peas that were clearly home made. All washed down with a lovely pint of black sheep. Highly recommend

We had lunch here on 29th January 2024. The staff were very nice and there was a good atmosphere. I asked about the baked potato skins small plate dish to see if they were just pieces and was told that they were jacket potatoes. I was very disappointed as there were just two tiny halves, about 6cm across and were filled with finely diced vegetables. I would have expected a jacket potato to be at least 10cm. When I questioned this I was asked if I would like another portion, to which I replied yes I was then bought a duplicate dish. I was shocked to find that they were going to charge me twice as I did not think they were good value at £8.50. They eventually agreed to only charge me £3.00 for the second one. My husband had a panini which was very good and a substantial portion at just £9.00. On the whole a very nice pub but be aware of the starter portions.

I had lunch at the Kings Arms last week. Food was superb, and service excellent! It’s a small and quaint pub with a few tables and some funny quotes on the walls. I highly recommend the slow cooked beef with horseradish mash and veg… the pint of Tribute was spot on…

Stayed here for one night as a trip with my partner to the Cotswolds. Absolutely lovely room at the top of the hotel overlooking the square, yes as the hotel clearly states the stairs are steep so please be aware. They managed to fit us in for dinner which was delicious and the breakfast was also good. Lovely location Would definitely recommend .

Couldn't fault our stay here. We arrived Saturday for 2 nights. Our room was so spacious, really comfy and a great shower and bath. King sized bed was a bonus. This B and B had such a lovely feel about it. So cosy and homely. The breakfast both mornings was faultless. All staff we came across were really friendly and attentive. Would recommend anyone to stay here. Thank you.

Came for a night away between Christmas & New Year, stayed in a double room with my partner, lovely room, a good size bathroom with huge bath & separate shower, excellent breakfast in the morning, lots of choice, we were overlooking the back of the hotel, carpark at the back, very tight so get there early for a space, my only issue with this room was the light in the bathroom, very dark, impossible to put make up or even for my partner to shave.

We were constantly in the draft of the opening door at our table which made for an unpleasant experience whilst having lunch even though our table was near the wood burning stove. Lunch was okay but the veg was undercooked, the sprouts were particularly hard.

We stayed in room 8 from 4/12/23-6/12/23 room was amazing absolutely stunning. Extremely clean and very cost and warm. Food was superb we had breakfast and dinner. Staff very polite and accommodating. We will definitely visit again 😃😀

Our reservation a month in advance was not recorded. Luckily they had availability on the night. We we’re given a nice big table in the window. We thought this was nice. This turned out to be the bar table with random customers sitting at our table. We could not hear each other speak and could not get up to go to the toilet. After our main course nobody came to ask about a dessert . After a while the staff left to go outside and we had no one to speak to. After 10 minutes we got up to leave. This took a while as we passed the people on our table. The bar staff were unable to discount anything as management we’re not on site. We paid full price to our disappointment . This is the worst hospitality we have ever been given. An appalling display of service .
