I called in here after traffic dodging on the way home for a quick drink. Good selection of drinks and they do food too. I wouldn't normally leave a review for a quick visit but got talking to the landlord and his wife and they were great. Very keen to show me the place and told me about nights they do etc. Locals seemed like a good bunch too. The friendly welcome definitely makes me want to go back with my wife and make a weekend of it. Decent beer garden so maybe a trip for summer.

Have paid several visits to the King's Arms - usually for a supper and to enjoy a thriving Pub Quiz which is delivered by Landlord Ben with great humour. The food is really very good - the homemade Pies are excellent as are the Mounfield Sausages made locally in Bubwith by Award winning Butchers A. Mounfield & Sons. When so many Pubs are closing, it's great to see a Pub become the centre of the Community thanks to very hard work by Ben and Emma.

This was a slightly disappointing experience, we have eaten here a couple of times and would like to support the new Landlords who always give a warm welcome.. Unfortunately today the service was very slow, the food was hot, all 'plated up', roast pork ( a little dry), one small yorkshire pudding each, plenty of veg and a couple of roast potatoes, the apple sauce was sadly straight out of a tin or jar. I would have preferred the vegetables on the side. The chocolate brownie and ice cream for dessert was delicious just gooey enough without being too soild. We eat Sunday lunch out quite regularly and were rather disappointed with our experience today

Called in for lunch to check if suitable for our large greyhound, to sample the food and check if it was accessible for someone with mobility difficulties. Lots of ticks in lots of boxes! Ben was so welcoming and helpful, the food we had was very good (try the sausage and mustard baguette cheeseboard and autumn crumble: all super), the service extremely good and there is lots of room for Fraser hound. The entrance access is good, with sturdy seats and space between tables for manoeuvring for those using sticks. There is a lovely restaurant and an attractive beer garden (pouring down when we were there sadly) and good dog walking nearby, including the village pond. The Kings Arms serves Sunday lunches and we will definitely trying those too. We're really pleased to have discovered Ben and Emma's cosy and welcoming venue and intend returning this week, with Fraser the greyhound. The Kings Arms is going to be added to our list of local hostelries, and we recommend that you give it a try too.

Very glad to say that the new landlords have hit all the right notes - in the right order!!! the official launch day was very well supported by a very enthusiastic Village. The Beer Garden is well equipped to entertain youngsters whilst the Picnic Tables provide sitting for watchful Parents,Already there is a regular Quiz Night which is very well attended by a great mix of age groups in "perfect harmony". To come is food, but sensibly things are being done step-by-step. well done.

In an era when Village Pubs are closing at an alarming rate, an Inn which is trying to reverse the trend is worthy of support. At the time of our visit, a one-course Sunday Lunch was all that was available - but no matter as the portion was very generous and the Mashed Potato and Cauliflower Cheese, among a good selection of vegetables, were excellent. Service was a little chaotic at times - but with a packed Restaurant on a lazy Sunday - who cares!!! Will definitely be visited again and hope they extend the Hours/Days of food service.

Visited for Sunday Carvery to find the pub has new management and no longer has a Sunday Carvery. Unfortunately the meal was very disappointing. The beef was very chewy, as was the lamb. The vegetables were virtually raw, apart from the roasted parsnips which were lovely. I think more staff would help as the waiting time was quite considerable through no fault of the lovely waitress who was trying her best to serve everybody virtually on her own. It might be worth considering returning to a Sunday Carvery as we have been previously on several occasions and found it one of the best in the area

I visited The Kings Arms today with my mum and brother. They had burgers and I ordered the mushroom and spinach pie. I had options to have this with cheddar or Stilton and either a flakey pastry or suet top. There was also choice of chips with peas or mash and veg. It didn't mention gravy on the menu, but was served nicely with a little jug on the side. As I'd ordered a veggie pie, I nearly presumed the gravy would be veggie but was glad I double checked! It was instantly whisked away to be replaced with some veggie gravy, but this was so thick that I had to literally shake the jug for it to pour out! The chips were very tasty but it took about 30 mins for the meals to arrive. There is a good selection on the menu and the feedback from the burger-eaters was that the meat was very condensed so they were quite chewy. The home-made coleslaw didn't seem to be home-made and the onion rings were very flimsy. Other reviews seem very complimentary but I'm not sure we'd go there again if I'm honest. Presentation was good but I'm afraid the taste didn't quite live up to the appearance.

We called in one lunch time, I had friends over and wanted somewhere to eat we chose the Kings arms as they do two meals for £10 this sounded good value . The service was good drinks bought to the table and order taken by a lovely lady. When the food was served the presentation was lovely the food hot and plentiful. There was a good selection of food and a selection of sweets too ( although we didn't / couldn't eat a second course. Both the lady who took our and the chef can't to the table to ask if our meal was alright, a nice touch. The pub looked clean and there's a nice garden if you want to sit out with a lovely view of the village green / pond complete with ducks. We will defiantly be going back and would recommend a visit.

Visited this pub/restaurant after the usual hunt on Tripadvisor for somewhere local but different to visit. Service was slow & we had a 40 minute wait for our meal AFTER ordering, although to be fair we were told it would be delayed. The restaurant wasn't busy so not sure why. The two meals ordered were chicken & ham pie with suet topping & marinaded chicken kebabs. The suet seemed to be about 3 inches thick & although nice & crusty on the outside was almost uncooked & doughy underneath. The "marinaded chicken kebabs" appeared to be just pieces of chicken rolled in chilli flakes/other herbs & then cooked, the resultant dish being very rubbery & so fiery it almost burned the mouth. The kebabs were sent back & the comment apparently from the chef was "would you like some water?". A bit unexpected if a bit farcical. The chicken kebabs were replaced with "unmarinaded" kebabs which were just about edible but still very rubbery. The restaurant needs either a new poultry supplier or a new chef, not sure which one.

A carvery was being served and as there was a number of locals eating we decided to give it a try. The staff were extremely friendly and the food looked good. There was beef, gammon and turkey on the carvery menu, together with a choice of three fresh vegetables plus mashed and roast potatoes and excellent Yorkshire puddings. My husband and I had a slice of all three meats which were cooked to perfection. The cost for one course is £8.95 and £11.95 if you have room for a pudding! Be warned, the portions are huge. Stumbled across this little local country pub and from the outside looked welcoming with its conservatory and large garden area. However on entering it just didn't live up to it. It felt very much like a "locals pub" and looked quite shabby in the main pub area, a little bit like a working mens club. The staff were fine, pleasant enough but seemed more interested in the locals. The food itself was average and maybe belonged on a 2 meals for £10 kind of menu as it all certainly didn't taste homemade. On the plus points there was a good kids menu and gluten free options also which you don't see very often. I'm afraid I can't see us visiting again.

My partner and I have eaten at the Kings Arms a number of times since Christmas 2012 around the time of the completion of the dining conservatory, often bringing visiting friends and family. From a Christmas eve meal, to Sunday carvery, to weekday lunches, fish and chips special Monday nights and general evening meals The Kings Arms has never disappointed. Prices are very reasonable, service always friendly and the menu varied. The pub always has interesting specials which are just as good as the regular menu, which we are slowly working our way through. The rump steak meal is exceptional value and the carvery on a Sunday is far better than much more expensive venues we've tried. There is also a good choice of beers on draught, so it's handy for us the pub is within walking, or stumbling distance home. Family friendly with a good beer garden and welcoming atmosphere this pub has everything.
