Very popular and atmospheric. We hadn't booked. Greeted by friendly and helpful staff member who managed to find us a table having explained there would be a 40 minute wait for food which was fine for us. Food arrived after 30 minutes and was delicious. We had the lasagne and vegan chilli. Drinks service excellent.

Sports pub, so maybe OK if you want some pints and watch the footie, but the the red wine I had was vinegar, they had no ice or lemon/lime for a gin, and couldn’t print a receipt. Wouldn’t return!

Carabao Cup Final day, the only sports bar in Lymington has a DJ/Karaoke going on instead of allowing the Commentry on the match !! What idiot did that on a Cup Final Day ? You also have Scottish League Cup Final and Six Nations Rugby plus two of the best supported clubs in the Carabao Cup Final and they have a DJ on !!!!! After fine, but NOT instead. My friends and I will not be returning any time soon ! Why pay Sky TV so much money and then drive customers away. Madness

We dropped in with dog at midday for a drink. Charming ,spotless, comfortable, open fires, obviously a favourite with locals, but we must have passed the visitor test as were were made welcome. We looked at the menu, which was not lengthy, which was the first good sign. It was obvious that everything is prepared and cooked in house. We could see that there must be someone with real skill in the kitchen to cook these dishes. We were not disappointed. Husband's fish gratin was top notch, with perfectly cooked selection of vegetables on the side. My fillet of bream had delicious crispy skin and was perfectly cooked, on a bed of samphire within which were some excellent king prawns, cauliflower puree, roasted cauliflower, caper butter and a side of new potatoes. We will return. We wore masks, others didn't, including the staff.

It's always frustrating when a pub says it serves food until 3, but when you arrive at 2.42 and are begrudgingly told that they are 'only just ' still serving. Then there were the noisy barking dogs whose owners didnt seem to take any responsibility for keeping them in order. We did manage to order our meals, somewhat hurriedly. When the haddock and chips arrived they were very nice, freshly cooked, a little over-priced by our standards. The pub itself is comfortable and warm but the lady who served us was not especially friendly and we felt overall a little underwhelmed by the experience

Had a wander through town and came upon this gem. I couldn't believe the prices £3.05 for a pint of Stella. Asked the lovely lady at the bar prices for various beers she happily obliged even though she was constantly pouring pints for punters in the garden. I think this place is a proper pub, old school yes, Macmillon cancer collection bucket well supported by locals, we chipped in as well. If you like a nice pub with no frills get yourself here. Turned up at 830 for drinks and to watch football but was not let in. Was told they were closed despite being many people there and spare tables inside and out. Very strange behaviour for these economic times but good luck to you if you’re in a financial position to turn away customers but I think it’s very rare and perhaps the fact that we weren’t locals was a factor. Disappointing to say the least.

With COVID-19, a one way system has been implemented for serving, but we found the outside benches had been repainted and it was easy for disabled access. Unfortunately the beer garden is inaccessible to electric wheelchair users, due to the gravel surface, but you could still use the benches in the "smoking area". Fortunately there were no sporting events on TV when we visited which meant plenty of benches could be used for access. You do find that when sporting events are on, many smokers "hog" the benches to watch TV and then there aren't many benches available for use. Also in the beer garden, if the gravel could be replaced by resin, this would make the beer garden more accessible for disabled people. We found the beers to be fairly priced, possibly the cheapest in Lymington, so now offering good value for money. Being Disabled makes it difficult to access many hostelries, but with COVID-19, the Kings Arms has made some good improvements.

Such a disappointment. Visiting Lymington and looking for a pub showing football, the Kings Arms looked just the ticket. Until we went to pay for our drinks and nuts - at which point the unsmiling barmaid said it was a cash-only pub. In 2019. And nowhere that we could see was this fact advertised. So I asked where the nearest cash point was and she gestured towards Waitrose - which turned out to be a significant walk. The thing that stunned us was that she then removed our drinks and nuts to behind the bar - the message presumably being that while I went to the cash point she would not trust my partner not to drink her drink, eat the nuts and do a runner. When I returned with the money, despite the drinks being in front of her she asked “what was it again?” then took payment with not a smile or semblance of empathy. All in all an antediluvian attitude and the opposite of hospitality. Needless to say we will never return.

What a very odd pub. To be located on the high street of Lymington you would expect so much more considering the fact that Lymington is. Tourist town. The Kings Arms certainly doesn’t invite you in! What pubs / restaurants these days don’t offer card payment facilities?!?The landlord is incredibly rude and does greet new customers with any kind of warmth or openness. A real ‘locals’ watering hole, the type that everyone turns and stares at you when you walk in. Lovely! Not for us. We turned around and walked out. I can’t comment on the food or drink as we had no facilities for payment which in turn was a saving grace as I wouldn’t have wanted to give them my money. Best avoided. There are far better food and watering holes on Lymington high street.

Visited with a group of friends recently. The restaurant had lots of good support from local friends so we decided to try it. The Kings Arms has nice atmosphere and friendly, efficient staff. Good beer, and a small, but very good wine list. However, the meals were just ok. I was disappointed with my risotto, but I do know risotto is hard to get right, so was prepared to write off to experience. However, my fellow diners also thought their main dishes were average fare as well. Not so bad to complain about, but certainly not what the billing led us to believeMaybe we struck an off night, as other reviewers have been more complimentary?

Warm welcome, staff were dressed up as it was St Georges day so nice atmosphere. After a drink we were shown our room, which was very large with a kingsize bed, and ensuite with a shower and sink. All very clean. During the evening we opted to stay in the bar where there was a live band which was very good, locals were very friendly, be warned you do get charged more for your drinks than the locals !! We were warned that it does get busy which it did, and had a lovely evening till the end... a glass was accidently dropped (which happened in front of me) and the 'manager' suddenly shut the bar and wouldn't let anyone else have the drink even though last orders had not been called, he then disappeared and left it all to the bouncers to deal with, so a sudden end to our first night away from 4 children in 7 years, and my birthday. such a pity.

Decided to go in with 3 mates for a light lunch and an afternoon drink. It's a proper "boozer" with real drinks, real food (none of this poncy stuff that is far too overpriced) and real locals! The staff are friendly, the young lad looked after us very well. I'm a resident of lymington but never popped into this place until recently, I have returned since and will carry on using this place. Food is cheap but tasty. It's no frills

Great location and a comfortable venue. The food was good but not exceptional and the service was pleasant but not quick.

This is a great Histroical I cannot stress more that this is a lovely Hotel, nice rooms comfy and dining is great, If only I had the money I would move to this area as it is so beautiful, and I could wonder at my hearts content through the forest, with lovely little villages along it's edges.

Super little cafe with utterly delicious baked breads, pastries and buns. The sourdough loaves on their rustic shelves look & smell wonderful! Enjoyed a perfectly brewed coffee from their own roastery and a vanilla cream bun which was heavenly. The staff were so happy and friendly, I have to mention them all so thank you Harriet, Charlotte & Izzy - what a lovely little place!

Best fish and chips in a long time… the small size of the kiosk had me convinced it would just be drinks etc, but oh, how wrong I was! Such a variety, quick and friendly service
