Terrible experience. Coffee is watery machine standard coffee served in takeaway cups (after asking to sit in). Sausages in the sausage bap were crunchy (no exaggeration) and the tuna panini was tasteless. Would avoid purchasing food here at all costs. Ruined what was otherwise a very enjoyable country park walk

Fab local cafe, great environment, friendly staff. I’m a vegan but that’s no issue with their cakes! They also have the best coffee in the area, and very cute dogs visiting all the time

Situated just off the carpark past the visitor centre, this is a lovely little cafe. Prices were reasonable we had a latte and bacon roll. The Bacon Roll was in a large bap and filled with three rashers of bacon, very good value for £4.95. They do basic fare with jacket pototes, paninis, cakes etc. We sat outside on the decking overlooking one of the lakes, but there is inside seating and by the entrance picnic tables and a playground for children if you are visiting with them. Lots of dogwalkers calling in for a post wander coffee, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.

Nice and unique cakes- we shared a caramel and apple. There was plenty of options including gluten free ones. The ambience is relaxing and calm, especially outside overlooking he pond: perfect time for cake on a Sunday afternoon. The interior was very pleasant and the chairs were comfy.

A pretty Little café with a nice selection of light bites and cakes. It’s ideally suited for a cuppa after a short walk round the park and excellent for snacks after the kids have been in the play park. The only thing recently is that we’ve turned up before 4pm and it’s been shut… have the opening hours changed?

We needed a relaxed break and some lunch after attending a close friend's funeral. We knew she loved walking in the park and having a good coffee and snack on the cafe terrace, so it was the obvious place for us to go. . It was a shame that the only veggy options on the menu at the moment are a jacket potato or a cheese and onion pasty (as I cannot eat potato) but we had a warm welcome and the member of staff was very helpful, which we appreciated. My husband had the jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw which was excellent and very tasty, with a generous and fresh salad garnish. I much enjoyed my lunch too and the coffees were great. We are not local, but hope to visit again when we are in the area.... and look forward to a wider menu....it's a lovely relaxing place to spend some time by the water, we had a very enjoyable visit.

stopped here before heading for a walk around the country park, served by a very pleasant lady working on her own at the time, we had coffee and cake which was really nice and they offered a variety of food and snacks. Covid track n trace system in place and hand sanitiser. I would definitely recommend here for refreshments if visiting the country park. One way system in and out too.

This is such a quaint little cafe in an amazingly beautiful setting of the country park. It has the option to sit inside, or out on a small deck space which overlooks the most gorgeous scene of water, reeds and wildlife. The drinks are decent, as is the food. However, despite being very friendly, it was felt that the staff didn't really listen well to your orders and got easily flustered with any order made with more than 3 items. In fact, one coffee wasn't made, one was made wrong and the sandwiches we ordered had one missing as well.If you have time to wait and don't mind repeating yourself a few times to be sure your order is correct, the food and drinks are worth the wait and the setting more than makes up for any little errors made.

The coffee was good as was the tea, the cakes where ok and did gluten free which I am told was a nice cake chocolate and orange. However, they seem to allow dogs all over the place including the tables. If you are a dog walker that may be acceptable, but to allow the inside the main café uncontrolled is not acceptable. We sat outside overlooking the lake which was quite pleasant but would not go back due to the strange smell in the café and the dogs everywhere.

I went in after a long morning walk and all I needed was a coffee to perk me up. Unfortunately I had to wait a very long time for it to be made and there was a lack of customer service. However the coffee was delicious and the scenery from the outside seating is beautiful.

Pedí mi café y me senté.

I have visited here several times now so My review is based on all visits not just today's. The staff in the cafe need some serious training in customer service. Everytime I have found them rude and abrupt. Upon one visit with family and visiting grandparents we waited nearly an hr for sandwiches. When asked we were simply told 'they are being made' today hubby askedwere sugar etc was for tea the person serving just pointed! I won't be using the cafe again.

What a lovely cafe in a great location. We had a walk around the park which we were lucky enough to chance upon, it has a great kids play park and sculptures dotted around. We rounded it off with lunch at the kingfisher cafe on the decking. Even though it was a bit chilly it was nice to sit and watch the wildlife outside, very relaxing! The staff were busy but friendly and our paninis were delicious. The coffee is worth a mention too. They also do kids lunch boxes which are great. Definitely worthy of a morning / afternoon out.

the forecast being good we headed for Barnwell Park as we know the little ones love the extensive play area. This was the first time we've been since the new cafe had opened,so we had a look. Very disappointed. Little choice, slow service and overpriced.no basics here, just pannini's & baguettes (sold out of jacket potatoes before 12pm!),and expensive slices of cake. I ordered 2 pannini's (small size) & a can of (multipack!!!) coke..........£13.50 !!!!Lovely cafe and outdoor seating area but way too expensive. Bring your own picnic !

Visited today with family, ordered jacket with beans, sandwich, 2 sausage rolls and 2 cans of coke for a total of £18.30. Whilst ordering the girl behind the counter took a box of frozen Mccains jacket potatoes out and proceeded to pop in the microwave. Felt disappointed as soon as I witnessed this and didn't hold much hope, food arrived, jacket was ok, a little cold and just couple of spoons of beans, not worth the money and I would expect jacket potatoes to be freshly cooked, not frozen! The setting is lovely, food was average, small portions and over priced. Would only visit again for drinks.

A lovely little coffee shop but on the day that I visited with a friend the service was particularly slow. There were two staff on and they were both dealing with one customer who couldn't decide which coffee beans they wanted to buy. The lady behind me had two small children with her and their ice lollies were beginning to melt. I did have to ask the staff to serve us and again the service was extremely slow. My friend was waiting outside on the decking area and she timed that it took 22 minutes to get two filter coffees. I do hope that this was just due to the place being new and everyone finding their feet as the setting itself is lovely

Barnwell is a lovely peaceful park and has always been lacking a coffee shop. The new cafe is perfect with a lovely outside seating area. My 15 year old son said it was the best cheese sandwich he had ever had! It was mixed with mayo and spring onion and looked tasty, I had ham and wholegrain mustard mayo and this was tasty too with a well presented side salad and kettle chips all for £4.95. The cakes looked lovely but we opted for ice creams.

Had a lovely meal there with my wife and son. Rob was very welcoming, and even arranged for the chef to whip up a vegetarian wellington for me which wasn't on the menu. Tasted great, and then I was stressed to an extra portion of garlic and herb toasties, which were also great. A jazz band were setting up which we couldn't stay for, but I'm sure it turned into a great evening. We'll definitely visit again. Food was great and staff were very attentive.
