I've been here a few times recently, and I have enjoyed each visit. Decent food, very friendly, helpful staff. Great place for lunch if you're in Yarm. Top marks.

Absolutely love this place. Staff are great and there’s space to take your dogs in with you. Food is incredible and never disappointed in every single visit for the last three years!

Booked for afternoon tea which after an hours wait we had to chase our order several times before finally receiving it after 1 hour and 20 minutes Food was good but spoilt by the wait sadly . Also price had increased by 38% since our last visit in August , an £8 per head price increase seems very high .

Lovely visit as always, food delicious and staff attentive as much as they could be. It was very busy however during December we expected that, there was a time when our drinks were empty so hubby just went the bar which was not an issue. Whilst there I did see a woman giving a teenage waitress a hard time. I think people forget the staff are human and doing the best they can in stressful conditions, especially during this time of the year. It costs nothing to be nice 😊

We have always eaten here every time we visit family nearby. Food and service usually excellent. It’s very busy due to a large function being held at rear and upstairs of venue. Starters of Soup, mushrooms and Chicken Croquettes, in fairness starters were nice. Staff frantically running around as very busy. Several times walking passed our table where we had empty glasses. Too busy to stop at our table. My wife was still eating her starter and the waitress brought over the main courses and placed on table. When she returned with the side dishes we did explain that we had not fully finished our starters and she apologised. Maybe kitchen told her to take mains out without checking if we were ready. Roast pork was very dry, veg slightly undercooked. Gravy like water. Again felt very rushed. Was not a relaxing family meal. We spoke to a senior member of staff about the experience and she did apologise and discounted the bill. Some of the younger inexperienced staff could do with more training. Hopefully next time we visit it will be less chaotic.

Booked a table for dinner for a party of 12 people, the service and quality of the food was outstanding. The booking process was very straightforward and handled very efficiently by Kimberley and Elle, nothing was too much trouble. The menu choice was very comprehensive with something for everyone. We were welcomed by staff who showed us to our table in the restaurant area and we didn’t have long to wait before the starters and main courses were served and all piping hot. If you want to dine in pleasant surroundings and are looking for quality food and service then this is the place, thanks Kimberley and her team.

Good food. £6.75 for a pint of Guinness is a bit steep.

It was my 1st all day brunch experience. Absolutely excellent. The staff were amazing they kept us topped up with drinks and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Although we were a big party all the meals came out together. I had fish and chips which was delicious. There was a great party atmosphere. Would definitely recommend and would definitely go back. A huge thank you to all the staff at the Keys

Fantastic place, we called in had the 3 course for £20, we thought they may of been small portions, how wrong we were great food atmosphere and service, we will definitely be going back.. I can’t rate this place enough, I just wish it was nearer to where we live just South of Thirsk…

Went 2 days in a week for breakfast.its ok but was a hot plate itself but the food was warm(not cold) but I like my food hot so had to rush it down otherwise once cold I'd have left it. Don't like beans in a separate container it implies to me it's been in the microwave & have to man handle food rather than tucking in. More expensive than other pubs serving breakfast in the high street. Girls serving fantastic but heat of the food puts me off

I didn't use the restaurant I went in for a rest and refreshments after a walk, I found the place to be very welcoming and clean. The atmosphere was nice and cozy and I didn't feel out of place being on my own.

Complained about a drink and got told I don’t know anything about wine by the manager. Didn’t get offered any exchange or alternative, and then got told I couldn’t have tried it beforehand as I ‘ wouldn’t take a bite of a sandwich at Greggs and put it back on the shelf’ . So I had no choice but to either drink an awful wine or not buy it in the first place apparently. S*** service. No offence to the girls at the bar this is directed to the manager 👍🏻,

Lovely place, lots of choices. Food presented well, however my steak sandwich lacked the steak as it was fatty and could not be eaten. However my friends ordered the same meal and it was full of steak. Just think I was unlucky today but this wouldn't put me off visiting or eating there again. Staff were amazing.

Had a great meal recently when visiting for tea with a friend. Food lovely as usual and great service from Jake who is always welcoming and lovely to chat to. Never disappoints.

Excellent at all levels selected the small chicken if that was small the normal portion size must be huge.

We booked for breakfast .. we were shown to our seats .. 25mins later we were asked what we wanted .. we ordered …. Coffee came within 15 mins .. after another 45 mins we were still waiting for food .. we left … absolute shambles …

The day started very rocky with poor hospitality skills from staff and poor communication with a long delay in service. Several drinks needed returning due to a funny taste in them. We had a disabled person in the party and had been asked twice to move from the table to meet other party bookings, despite us booking the table and advising of a disabled member in the party. It was not handled very well at all by staff. We asked for the manager, Jake came to the table and handled it all very professionally. Jake went above and beyond for the party of 7 after we explained what had happened during our visit. We had already asked for our bill which was £655.10 prior to Jake attending to our table and as a party we visit The keys once a month but had decided that we would not be returning again. However, once Jake was made aware of the service received he really did go above and beyond and could not apologise enough. He handled it all very professionally and for that I cannot thank him enough. Enough so, that after saying we would not return we did book again on that day for 16th November. See you all then

We booked a 60th birthday celebration and we we book a side room towards the back near the garden. The Buffett was exceptional and the room was a lovely venue. As us the staff in the keys are amazing. Always on hand, tentative and friendly. We go to the keys frequently and it’s always the same service and the same quality. Thank you once again for making our day a special one.

Bottomless Brunch! Came for bottomless brunch with a group of girlfriends. We chose the location as standard of the cocktails and food choice was really good and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were super quick with the service and the cocktails non stop! The food was delicious, great atmosphere and the cocktails were outstanding! The same you’d expect to pay £10 a go for. We all felt we got really good value for money and it was a gorgeous way to spend an afternoon with friends. Would you 100% recommend!

Visited for a Sunday roast and overall happy with the experience. The service was great and the atmosphere was good. The food needs improvement for the price though.

I have just been to the keys for a restaurant week, 3 course meal for £20. The food was amazing, and I couldn't fault any of the courses they were all delicious, especially the beef stroganoff 😋. The lady that served us was lovely (think she was called Angela) she was very knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely be back again

Lovely afternoon at The Keys. 20+ party but all meals out at same time (booked ahead) and lots of empty plates. Excellent food and generous portions. The staff are first class, so polite and helpful, and very friendly, would definitely recommend. Didn't partake this time, but the afternoon teas looked pretty special.

Asked for a parmo, didn’t specify size as typically would expect a small, charged for a large but when it turned up it was the size of a large males fist. Chips needed an extra 10 minutes, really poor experience

Absolutely fantastic customer service! I visited here recently as part of a hen party. We were sat outside enjoying our delicious cocktail's in the sun, when suddenly it started raining heavily! Members of staff went above and beyond and came rushing outside with umbrellas and escorted us all inside, keeping us, and most importantly the bride to be, dry. They then found us a table inside, even though it was busy and we hadn’t booked. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back☺️

Booked a table for 4 of us, 2 couples. It was for a catch up, wasn't a good idea on a Saturday night...the music was far too loud, we couldn't hear each other, the drinks we ordered had ran out, tried another brand of gin, also ran out😲. The food was lovely, but where we were sat we kept getting waffs of smoke blowing in..when your a non smoker that's no good..we didn't stay after the meal...paid and left...I would of loved it if just out for a drink with friends as music was great...just too load for a meal....

After arriving at 6.10pm for my granddaughters 11th birthday it took till 7.20pm to get food the children's food came out last on a red hot plate for a five year old the food was poor and not well presented didn't have time for the only thing my granddaughter wanted the brownie so to say it was a let down would be a understatement, the staff were pleasant so that's the only good thing

Food wasn't hot, seemed reheated to warm. Club sandwich was good size, much better than the chicken gyros in flat bread.

I have changed my mind about this place thanks to Layla who was so helpful and efficient. Hiring the right staff makes such a difference! Beautiful venue.

Lunchtime really slow service only seems to be 1 person doing the work the rest just wandering around. 3 mains ordered over an hours wait and the venue only looks to be a third full.

Worst parmo ive ever had. Complained to the staff but they weren't bothered as id eaten about a quarter of it. Will not return here ever again.

Poor bottomless brunch. 90 minutes started as we ordered despite a 10 minute wait to get drinks. Mac and cheese was penne pasta? We had to ask before each order, as if the staff avoided eye contact to slow things down as much as possible. Very disappointed

Popped in for an afternoon of lunch with some friends The staff are all lovely and particular, thanks to Cheryl and Julie who looked after us All our food was fantastic, and I particularly recommend the prawns in cream sauce and the sticky toffee pudding The Beef fried chunky chips were unbelievable! There is a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and there is an excellent selection of beers wines and spirits The toilets are very clean and there is a wonderful outside area I very much look forward to my next Visit

We've only been here once but wow the food is amazing. The decor inside is beautiful. We sat in a booth & had Sunday lunch. It was honestly lovely. Can't wait to visit again soon

Booked here today 13/04/24 for afternoon tea, firstly the staff were lovely and welcoming and happy to help and couldn't do enough to accommodate you. Secondly the afternoon tea... WOW! Best afternoon tea we have ever had, beautifully presented and amazing value for money!! Experienced many afternoon tea's all over the country and so amazed to have found the best one yet on my doorstep! Already recommended to family and friends and cannot wait to re book our next visit! And even planning a big future event to hold here and we were that impressed! Thankyou for a great experience.

Good food good atmosphere and very good service

Decorated beautifully. The Sunday lunch is honestly the best I've had. We had the brisket which was so soft and tender you could cut it with just a fork. The waitress was lovely & patient while we chose our food & drinks. I love that they allow dogs in too. Definitely highly recommend!

Having eaten several times on a Sunday, the lunch is excellent. Plenty of meat and never ending vegetables. I would definitely recommend. The only negative, no real ale.

Fantastic service as always, very good breakfast.

We had afternoon tea, the scones were freshly made and delicious as was the scotch egg. The selection of cakes was wide and they were lovely. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our afternoon tea and would highly recommend it to anyone else. We look forward to returning for another one soon.

A fabulous Saturday treat being looked after by Angela and Nadine as we had a girly afternoon tea with lashings of Prosecco in The Keys Yarm. We were treated like royalty, fed gorgeous food and were kept topped up with Prosecco all afternoon. A perfectly lovely time.

Would just like to say a BIG thank you to everyone at the keys for a lovely mother's day!! love the makeover to the place and the excellent meal. ended up taking a very large portion of meat home for a very happy staffy dog!!! amazing value for money. Will definitely be back xxx

Fantastic family Sunday lunch. Staff were amazing and fitted us in at zero notice after we'd been let down by another venue. Rescued Mothers day for us. The food was excellent, the staff were super friendly, helpful and attentive. 5* experience all round

I visited last night and was planning on having fish & chips but took advantage of their restaurant week offer, 3 courses for £20 from their special menu. Well, I was so pleased I did, food was amazing, large portions and served hot. Lovely flavours and everything cooked fresh. Staff were attentive but the right balance of not being overly, they were very friendly and chatty, plus great service. I would definitely come back here again and it deserves 5⭐

Today 25 Feb My wife and I had Sunday lunch in the keys at 5pm it was extremely quiet so you would imagine easy for us to enjoy a Sunday lunch with starters.But this was not the case,my mushroom starter was cold so sent back my wife had finished her starter before my cold starter had been replaced with a hot one.Then our main courses arrived with cold mashed potatoes on our main plates with cold veg on a side plate.We obviously complained and were told that we wouldn't be charged for any of the food that we were served which was good as we left it all. So if anyone is thinking of going to eat in the keys do your self a favour and go else where.It was abysmal.

Lovely meal parmo and excellent staff and service.

Occasionally popped in for a pint, brilliant service and polite friendly staff at the bar. Not tried the food so can't give reviews on that. All in all I enjoyed it.

This is a nice spot for a family dinner but they could be a little bit more vegetarian friendly. We went for Sunday lunch and didn't realise they offered a vegetarian option because it wasn't on the menu, it was only when the waitress said they had a Wellington. The food was good, just add all your options to the menu!

We did the new bottomless brunch which was fantastic value! Cannot fault it or speak highly enough of the quality of food and drinks. So tasty and a fantastic way to spend a special occasion. Special shout out to Nadine our waitress who was so lovely. We want her as our adopted mother! Highly recommend

Super disappointed, 40 minutes wait for food which didn’t arrive. When I asked I had someone defend the wait rather than say sorry and check. Turns out a printer error our order wasn’t even put in. Extremely disappointing

Went to Key today for lunch and it was so delicious that I just had to write a review. The staff were brilliant - so friendly, kind and efficient. We were really impressed and can’t wait to go again.

Very chic and boutique vibes this pub / restaurant and not to mention lovely food too! All served on time as it was a rather large group I was sat with which many restaurants stuggle to cater for but no issue here! Starters and main went down a treat! Would definitely visit again. Generous tasty portions too!

Leaving one star as zero isn’t an option. We booked a meal for my daughter’s birthday- us, her friend and grandparents. We waited nearly an hour for starters when they came to us and said they couldn’t tell which were the kids’ starters on the order. Kids finally got starters an hour after ordering. We’d ordered a beef stroganoff only to be told 45 minutes after ordering there was no rice to go with it so my mother in law could either have potatoes or chose something else. The waitress came back after another 20 minutes to tell me there was no rice to go with my kebab. I hadn’t ordered rice- I’d ordered corn and honey soy chips. I asked them not to bother cooking corn (we’d been in there for nearly an hour and a half and were getting quite bored) and just to bring out whatever was ready. There was nothing on the order that was right- my food came with regular fries, my mum ordered pork skewers, she got salmon and prawn. My skewers came with a flatbread (I’m gluten free) and no mayo as advertised. The food that we did get wasn’t great at all. We hadn’t even finished the food when we got told we had to leave because kids weren’t allowed in there after 9. We weren’t given the option of desserts. Various excuses of being busy, waiters leaving etc were given. Thankfully the bill was waivered because it certainly wasn’t worth paying for.

I booked a table for my family, who were visiting the area and really wanted to try the parmo that they had heard about. They weren't disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed all the food they ordered. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend. Keep up the good work

We have been to the Keys in Yarm today for lunch for my daughter’s baby shower and it was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. All of the staff went above and beyond to make the afternoon so special . The food was absolutely delicious , fresh and piping hot. I am not someone who generally writes reviews but today I just had too as it was all so lovely . Ide highly recommend !

A wonderful merry Christmas Outing! We recently had our annual Christmas outing at The Keys Restaurant in Yarm, and it was an absolute delight! The venue provided an all-in-one experience with fantastic options for drinks at the bar, a delightful dinner in a private and ambient environment, and even a space for dancing – the perfect dessert after our meal. The service was impeccable; every order went off without a hitch, and the staff's attention to detail was outstanding. The team at The Keys truly went above and beyond to make our experience seamless. We'd give them 11 out of 10 if we could – bravo to the entire team! Special thanks to the team shout out to Felicity, James, Poppy, Layla, and, of course, the talented chef. The pre-event booking process was also incredibly simple, thanks to their efforts. We highly recommend The Keys Restaurant for any group, whether small or large, seeking the perfect venue. I took my two daughters to celebrate one of their Birthdays, her 21st. No problems getting seated and served. The server was friendly and professional. I asked if my other daughter could have a fruity cider with her meal as she is 16, the server said yes. We ordered 2 cocktails and a fruity cider, then our meal a few minutes later. We were then approached by a lady who abruptly asked for ID, I said we asked the server first if it was OK. She responded BY WHO, thankfully the server was close by who said it was her. Sadly she got told off in front of us and other customers. The server apologised to us. The food was delicious and hot. We ordered another 2 cocktails and a diet cola. We felt watched for the whole meal and this made us very uncomfortable. Then on receiving these next drinks another lady appears in my eldest daughters face and sternly asks for her ID, which she showed her she took a while checking it, handed it back and walked off. I have no problem for ID checks, it is good practice, it is the rudeness that is not acceptable . I would not want anyone to lose their licence over 1 cider. This I feel could have been handled so much better. I do not recommend this place.
