Generous portions of delicious food. I didn't like the roast potatoes, hence 4* Fab desert menu. Giant profiterole was yummy. My friend had a knickerbocker glory. Will definitely go again

Comfortable and friendly surroundings. Sea bass was very good. Great place to eat and meet with friends. Varied Menu reasonably priced.

Lovely lunch including steak pie and seafood dishes.

Very poor meal, seabass tiny, portion of "crispy" mash was minute and soggy, sauce was only good thing. When asked was everything alright I told the waitress who said she would tell the chef but he more or less said it is what it is ......really, shocking !! £16 and still hungry when I left!!! Won't be going back. Much better places to eat nearby.

Brilliant and now allow well behaved dogs into the pub in a designated area.

Food always presented lovely and so tasty . The service is very good indeed .The staff are so polite very friendly and always professional. I find the service makes each customer feel special and always ready to please. The atmosphere is perfect I love the location and the pubs values reflect where it is situated . Nice atmosphere and to be honest I feel the Falcon can and does cater for every occasion.

Excellent, Staff, Food, Drinks!

It's not worth one star we had Sunday lunch here on the 21 4 2024 two Adults Sunday dinners one mice and dumpling and a parmo we should have sent it all back but my wife didn't want to make a fuss.we will not be going BACK.

I wrote thiis review a year ago but visited again yesterday. Still a pub that has no beer. Madri, Carling and Staropramem near identical lagers but the three beer pumps are still unused. Still no food. Not even crisps. Caters for the older crowd. We asked about real ale or craft beer and was told there was no market round here for that. Despite having three hand pumps which proved to be purely decorative on the night of our visit. But there were three keg lagers available which are all quite similar. Didn’t bother with food

Fabulous food, every single visit.

The quality of the food was terrible. The plates were mad hot so i suspect it was reheated. We both had the small fish and chips. The batter was soggy, the fish did not taste fresh/ was poor quality and the chips were burnt. We left without finishing our meals. The next day we emailed the falcon at hilton to complain. They offered us a free meal for 2 which we politely refused. I thought our digestive systems had been insulted enough. We wont be returning.

We went there on the 18th Dec for a big family meal and it was great. Food is good solid pub food, very tasty, good value. Had the black pudding parmo. Would recommend. Beer selection was good and all the staff were lovely. Goos service. Would recommend.

Came for Sunday lunch a few weeks ago and will definitely be coming again, had a great tasting roast that was beautifully presented and there was barely anyone in so we could sit where we wanted and not be disturbed unlike at the nearby cattle markets such as Anson Farm and Toby Carvery. A well kept secret in a scenic location.

Great Sunday dinner. Recommended.

Good food the Steak and Ale Pie is the best! I know in the area.

Sorry but we wont be coming again. Orderd a small fish and chips and mushy peas, the batter on the fish was really thick and heavy and wasnt cooked right through as it was still sticky and gooey next to the fish, the fish itself was dry and wasnt very warm. Asked for tartar sauce and didnt have any. Hubby had a Hot Shot parmo he said it looked better than it tasted as it was quite bland. We loved to go to the falcon a lot but over the past few years it seems to have been changing hands, its seems to have gone down the pan. If you look at all other photos of the fish and chips they have sold and look at mine they are similar in shape and thickness. Looking at it i would say the fish was allready batterd when frozen. Sorry if this is long winded but when you think how much it costs to eat out these days and some only go out as a special treat i think IN MY OPINION the Falcon At Hilton can do much better.

A lovely village pub serving excellent food. We had a great lunch time meal the menu suited all of us with smaller and for those who wanted larger meals. Would recommend this to all.

Got a large and small mince and dumplings for my wife and I. Only difference was they were on different sized plates - in fact the small one had more mince!! My ‘large’ had the smallest amount of mince I’ve ever seen on this dish. Service was so slow, the chap kept complaining he was by himself to ‘cut costs’ It used to be great here but terrible now

Hadn't been for years, decided to pop in, staff friendly, decent prices and the food was lovely, would go back again. Lad who works behind the bar, Reece always helpful and polite, can't fault him.

Sunday lunch meat was too thin like out of a packet. Wont be going back for that. Other food ie parmos were great.

Easy access with friendly staff. Arrived for early supper few customers but lots of reserved tables. Ordered at the bar with meal served approx 15/20mins later freshly cooked and hot. Majority of reserved tables now started to fill, staff coped well and meals were served quickly and competently. Would recommend. Good food lots of choice reasonable prices.

First time visiting the pub this evening and was a really lovely visit. Staff were very friendly and was able to have a good laugh when ordering my food (because I’m quite picky) which was nice. The pub was very clean and cosy and the food was lovely! Very great customer service and quick with food too! Will definitely be coming back soon!

10/10. Group of 8 of us with ages ranging from 17 to 89! Staff were polite and food was absolutely amazing. Every plate was spotless at the end of the meal with no leftovers. Great price for good quality home cooked food. Highly recommend the steak and ale pie!

Good pub but food was not up to standard I'm afraid.....Yorkshire pudding was very overdone and presentation was non existent

My reviews tend to be positive and look for the good that's out there.. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL... Booked for a large birthday meal, paid deposit and ordered in advance.. Plain cheeseburger came with no cheese?? The 1st drinks order took 40 minutes to get to the table, we were so crammed that the tables next to us were so close their coats were on touching our table. The decor is old and tired not welcoming at all. The staff were all very young which is good that youngsters get jobs to earn spare cash but when the workforce is made of of 18 and under, that's down to paying as little as possible!! The food was either cold or tasteless not one person in our group enjoyed the meal, even the sticky toffee pudding tastes burnt. And finally we went to pay, we mentioned the £70 deposit at the till we were asked if we wanted to split the bill into families and take £5 off each one we said no well sort it ourselves paid the bill just as we were leaving we checked and they hadn't gave us the deposit back. When we challenged the response was well we mentioned it but wasn't sure what you wanted to do... WOW Most places remove it from a final bill.. POSSIBLY THE WORST VENUE IN TEESSIDE

Lovely menu with a wide variety of options. We enjoyed the Salmon and the Chicken Fajitas. Warm, friendly staff, can recommend and looking forward to returning.

Just called in, thought we try somewhere different. Didn't try food but menu looks lovely and the staff are so friendly. Big shout out the lady who came and gave our dog treats and a water bowl. Lovely to find staff that are chatty and welcoming. We will definitely be back

We visited here recently as we were staying along the road on a little caravan site. Had a beautiful meal with generous portion sizes, extensive menu and excellent service. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this place to other’s as it truly is a hidden gem.

Very disappointing. I had the small Sunday Lunch. We were there at 6.30pm. What I didn't expect was that they served a dinner that had been ready for lunch time. The roast potatoes and carrots were so hard I couldn't cut into them, and yorkshire pudding was hard and dry, obviously it had been cooked at lunch time. The only thing fresh were the vegetables that came separately. Terrible. They shouldn't put Sunday roast on the menu at 6.30pm if it was cooked at 12pm.

Lovely pub that ive used for a long time, but the meal we had on this occasion was well below par. Had the steak and ale pie which was that dry in my wifes case was uneadable, and really must have been made 5 days to a week previous totally unacceptable to the extent wont be using the falcon again.

Went for Sunday lunch, staff were very courteous and efficient. The lunch was lovely apart from the meat which appeared to similar to sliced meat bought from a supermarket. I had pork which came without crackling, which was very disappointing; this also made it seam like the meat wasn’t cooked as a joint and carved fresh. My husband had beef and it was the same, more suited to a sandwich than a Sunday lunch. Everything else on the meal was superb, especially the Yorkshire Pudding.

Went on Sunday evening for Sunday Roast. Meals delivered were not up to usual standard. Veg was uncooked and difficult to cut. Manager took same away to have fresh meals plated. Replaced meals were worse than original. potato was cold, roast potatoes had just been warmed selection of veg was disgraceful. Manager stated that chef had tested temperature of food and it was all above 60deg. I think that was Farenhiet!!

Superb Fish & Chips, perfectly cooked for my tastes, nice crispy batter even the chips were spot on. Loved it.

Lovely clean place plenty of polite staff food very nice however although the sliced beef was good I'm not sure it was roasted in house more like thinly sliced prepacked beef but still very tasty and I suppose they could have a machine to slice it that way so apart from a large table of very vocal people some occasionally using offensive language which therefore slightly spoilt my visit as there were no other tables to move to

Lovely people but after being assured gluten free and vegetarian available , there was a poor choice for a Sunday lunch. Those who had the Sunday lunch were disappointed. Not going back sorry. Need to up your game. The fish I got was awful.

Me and my wife were struggling to find a place to eat, as everywhere was booked up, I phoned the falcon at hilton, and the guy on the phone said he only had a table for two left , it was near the entrance and the toilets, I just thought we need something to eat, when we arrived the guy behind the bar was very welcoming, I ordered drinks then went to our table which was fantastic, no smell from the toilets and no drafts from the entrance, I ordered large and small fungi parmo, only waited 15 minutes, and they were the best parmos we have ever tasted, so massive well done to the chef and a well done to the guy behind the bar, we will definitely be using this place from now on 10/10 for the customer experience, New years eve 4pm.

Food and service was great, would highly recommend to anyone looking for somewhere nice and quiet to eat and drink

Exceptional outstanding food with great customer service. Massive portions Celebrating our wedding anniversary we booked table at the falcon. Great welcome and the updated modern look is absolutely stunning when I think what it was like prior to the new owners taking over. Steak pie outstanding chunky steak home made pastry absolutely delicious Stir fry is the best I have ever tasted the sauce is so tasty the selection of vegetables in this dish was honestly great. Along with good food was good service and they didn’t let us down. Thank you Gemma for the warm welcome👍 The rhubarb gin was heaven in a glass Thank you for a great evening

Nice food friendly service, good social distancing measures in place

First visit since the day before the first lockdown! There have been a few changes not least to the decor. The menu and selection of beers and other drinks is still extensive though. They have returned to bar service so feels more like a proper pub. Very good service, food excellent and Black Sheep tip top as it always was.

Food took a while to arrive but it was quite busy (Saturday night). I've had better meals in there before than what I had tonight but I would still return. Pleasant decor and setting in general.

Promised a lot, but failed to deliver on most. Attention to detail (and customers) poor, food not up to much, and not served as described in menu. "Sorry we made a mistake" would have sounded better if not delivered by an inexperienced teenager, who admittedly was trying her best. Saddens me, always kind of liked the Falcon.
