Great bar, would definitely recommend.

NYE at the Ketton Ox We came as a group of 4, the event was really well managed and we even got a choice of table. Atmosphere was great and the table accessories and the welcoming drink were a nice touch. We had table service all night ordering off the app meaning we got to enjoy the full night without queuing at the bar. We have drank in the Ketton for a few years but since NYE it’s become our regular. Great for afternoon drinks, watching sports or a meeting point to begin a Yarm pub crawl, not to mention the food is brilliant value.

Had the food and it was brilliant! Thoroughly enjoyed it, perfect Sunday lunch time meal. Sean and Leo’s service on the bar was delightful and were very welcoming towards us. Would definitely recommend!

Me and my boyfriend had a great night here! Stopped in for some food and had a great meal each. I had fish and chips and my partner had a lasagne and they were both brilliant! Compliments to the chef! Shaun and Lucie were great hosts too, and were very good at making sure we, as well as everyone else, were looked after! Always recommend this place!

Ketton ox is a great local yarm pub. All bar staff are great specifically Leo who is always a really friendly lad and always is a great lad to talk to.

Popped in for lunch as we were passing. Ordered food and a few drinks and everything was excellent. Andy the manager was friendly and chatty, really nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back

Went in for lunch with friends and will never return. When the food was brought to the table the food was literally just dumped. They got my order wrong and when I queried it I was accused of being wrong. No apology given. Said they would rectify my order by sending the correct side out but never did so I ate the part of the meal that was correct as it was going cold. Never had such terrible customer service. On a positive note the part of the meal I ate was nice. However after I emailed a complaint, the manager Andy was fantastic. Very apologetic and clearly cares about customer experience. Hence I have increased review.

Our works Christmas do at the Ketton Ox in Yarm was absolutely brilliant. Hosting our group of 25 people, the pub delivered an exceptional experience from start to finish, ensuring the buffet catered for different dietary requirements. The atmosphere was brilliant, perfectly capturing the festive spirit and making everyone feel welcome. The food was a great. What truly stood out was the service - the team was simply brilliant, attentive, and efficient, ensuring our large group was well taken care of throughout the evening. Their friendly and professional approach significantly contributed to the success of our celebration. Overall, the Ketton Ox proved to be an excellent choice for our Christmas gathering, combining great food, a warm atmosphere, and outstanding service to create a memorable event for all involved.

Nice enough looking pub but unfortunately had a fairly limited choice of beers (I'm not a larger drinker). Nice and quiet this afternoon though so plenty of places to sit and chat.

We were met with such a lovely welcome from Lucy, she was so warm and genuine and couldn’t do enough for us. So nice to have genuine hospitality.

Okay so the Pub is nice, plenty of tables and friendly helpful staff. Sadly the food was abysmal, I ordered Giant Pigs in Blankets which was essentually Sausage and mash on a giant Yorkshire pudding. The appearance looked good, and was a very generous portion of food. Sadly the Gravy was stone cold, had a weird floury texture and was unbelievably salty. The Yorshire pudding was also cold and had a strange taste. Suasages a tad dry like they had been kept hot for too long. Mash, again it was cold and heavy. I enjoyed the Peas though! Hopefully this was just a off day for the etablishment, I would strongly recommend the food temperature is checked before serving and perhaps taste what they are putting out. On a bright note, the Guinness was excellent!

Great traditional pub in Yarm, staff always warm and welcoming with a particular shout out for Lisa, nothing too much trouble for her and welcomes you with a smile. Definitely recommended if you are visiting Yarm.

Met by a girl named Lucy, happy to introduce me as a patron, amazing service for me and my partner, other staff members very polite also! Only popped in for one but will be returning! Only purchased a neck oil and spirit but props to the owners for the freshest pint this side of the North East!

We have visited today 16th November for drinks and nibbles, the pub was busy and lovely atmosphere. We were served by TJ fir drinks and food, lovely girl couldn’t do enough to ensure we had sauces for the table. I noted the rest of our visit the staff never stopped constantly serving and helpful even though busy.

Went for a quiet pint or several on my own because my wife recently left me for another woman called Mavis. I was served by a lovely young ethnic lady called Tia Joan. It's a smashing pub and all the staff were polite and courteous. Can recommend wholeheartedly

We had planned to visit here for a few drinks on Halloween with friends as ours and friends children were at various parties across Yarm and the place was packed, but still just an amazing atmosphere and the service was near perfect! Both of the staff, Finn and Lucy, took great care of us a number of times at the bar. Lucy was polite, welcoming and very chatty, and Finn could very well handle the pressure of the busy pub and almost make it look easy. We didn’t grab any food on this occasion because we knew we’d have mountains of sweets and snack to eat later… but that didn’t stop us looking as meals were carried past us. As always, the food looked incredible! One of, if not THE best pub in Yarm!

This place is normally great for a drink and a meal on a night. Unfortunately tonight wasn't the best. My girlfriend and I ordered food and it wasn't great at all. My girlfriend ordered the streak pie and fries. Unfortunately the gravy was so thick it wouldn't come out of the jug. Fifteen minutes later we got some more gravy by then the food was cold and also the new gravy wasn't much better then the last. Also I ordered the fish shop platter with brown bread. It came with white bread and no butter also the only thing hot was the fish. We won't be coming to eat in here again Unfortunately. 2 stars for the drink.

Visited this pub recently and our experience was nothing short of perfection. We ordered food and drinks both which were super speedy and absolutely delicious! Lucy on the bar served us all night and couldn’t have done enough she was fantastic! Will definitely be coming back and trying more sooner the better!

I never really enjoy the Ox. The staff can be really abrasive, actually downright rude around closing time and the lighting is unpleasantly harsh in some areas. Only plus is dogs are welcome.

We were welcomed by James who was very polite and friendly. The sears were full outside as the sun was out but plenty of space inside. Both James and the lady (who I didn’t get her name) ensured everything was ok with our meal and made it a pleasant experience. Very good customer service.

Excellent pub with a good selection of craft beers, wines and cocktails. Neat and tidy place with a good atmosphere and well worth a visit.

Ordered Mexican via Uber Eats (Burrito Bandits) which is actually the Ketton Ox. Order was completely wrong although the receipt was correct. Rang the Ketton Ox and was completely fobbed off. The below was what was delivered. This cost £27!. Avoid at all cost. Absolutely the worst service ever. Wouldn’t mind if they had been apologetic but they were simply rude.

There are a couple of good pubs in Yarm. The Ketton Ox is my favourite.

We popped in for a meal today and we were delighted with the food! There was a little confusion between us and the staff on, but she was so apologetic and took great care of us, aided by the young man there too! I’m not sure of their names, it was lunch time on 5th of July and they were brilliant! Great food and service as always!

Service had been really good. Lisa couldn’t have done more for us, checked on food that she thought may have been out of stock but they had had a delivery rather than trying to fob us off. She also brought over our latte when done. Couldn’t have asked for more. Food was great 3x fish and chips and a chicken and cheese burger, quick, efficient and cooked to perfection! Thank you Lisa!

Visited a number of times for the football and always received fantastic service, the pub is always clean and tidy and the drinks selection is pretty good. The past few times I’ve been in I was served by 3 lads, I think their names were Fin, Sean and James, always give great friendly service and they make me want to return. 5 stars from me.

As the closest thing to a local I have, thought its time to write a review, great choice of beers and lagers, always like the choice of music, service is always good but during this long awaited sunny spell Lisa deserves a special mention, been twice this week and a big thanks to Lisa for the excellent service on both occasions 👍 Thank you 😃

Visited for lunch, wrap was lovley but the toasties were over cooked and very dry which was a shame.

Sadly since the current management took over there is very little customer service in this pub now. With the exception of a couple of bar staff, Dan being one, very few seem to actually like serving customers. There is no engagement, no hellos, smiles, they look like they don’t want to be there which is possibly the case. I always think if you don’t like working in hospitality then do something else. I have used this pub for over 15 years so only come in to see regular friends. The staff at the George are welcoming, polite and friendly to customers. Not sure what is going wrong in Ketton Ox.

Can't rate but approaching appearance of peeling paint and tired chain grill style menu made my feet take me back to the car and somewhere nicer. Might have been alright. I'll never know!

Some excellent value simple bar food. Really well cooked, little extras like sundried tomatos in the salad really elevated it.

Attended a birthday party just over 2 weeks ago. I did not have food, so I can not comment. The bar was very busy but had plenty of staff behind the bar. The service was very poor. The young females in particular, who either ignored me ( and this was felt by others among the group, who commented on the poor servive) or on their mobiles. There was no please or thank you. Very ignorant in fact. Would I recommend? Probably not.

On a weekend trip to Kirby Lonsdale we visited the Snooty Fox which is part of the Stonegate group and the food was superb so he when we visited Yarm we decided to have lunch at the Ketton Ox which is part of the same group with an almost identical menu so we hoping for a similar experience, how wrong we were! The food was awful at the Ketton Ox & we won't be ordering there again, out of the four meals we ordered the Chicken Burger was OK but nothing special, the batter on the Fish & Chips was a soggy mess, the gammon steak was as hard as the sole of a boot with the onion rings also missing and the Pizza was burnt & bland with way too much tomato paste on the base, it was horrible & a Chicago Town Pizza would beat it hands down. Obviously all the food is cooked from frozen and no care was taken with any of the meals. What a wonderful place to spend an afternoon! Popped in for a bite to eat off the back of a recommendation from a friend and ended up staying till the evening. The staff are lovley, lots of choices on the menu and reasonably priced! We will be back again.

Me and my husband popped in the Ketton Ox last week. Service was excellent and the staff were friendly. We had some amazing pub food which came with a good atmosphere. This was not a planned trip bit would definitely call in again.

We called in for food on Mother’s Day and it was superb! We had 2 pies, fish and chips and a burger and it was flawless! We did feel sorry for the chef as he did inform us that he’d dropped one of our pies, but was quick to react and we only had to wait a further 2 minutes, and he was so apologetic. Amazing service from everyone!

No gluten free meal highlighted on the menu, no gluten free menu. Certain people get seriously ill from consuming gluten and it's embarrassing pushing your way to the front of the bar to ask.

Lisa who works there, is such a fantastic, vibrant person she makes visiting the KO a great experience. There is a great choice of beers and my wife says Lisa does the best coffee in town.

Always a good pint when you’re served by Lisa, always has smile on her face, pleasant and very accommodating and very helpful.

Thought I'd pop in for a pint and the price was reasonable, quite a busy pub. I never tried the food so only 3 stars, can't judge it if I haven't tried it. Sport on TV, the place was warm and had some music in the background to comfy overall.

We were advised to visit the Ketton Ox as it had wheelchair access and disabled facilities. The staff were extremely helpful both with entrance and exiting the premises - some of the best help we have had in any establishment. We enjoyed our meal, even more so as we were advised that the January deals were still available. Would recommend for a pub lunch and will hope to visit again. Thank you.

If you like the Ketton Ox, you will LOVE Wetherspoons! Had some lunch, undercooked sausages, frozen chips, it reminded us so much of Wetherspoons quality but the food was worse and so was the beer? Can’t recommend it I’m afraid!
