The Kesar in Sandwell

Absolutely disgusting. The recent order that was sent to me. The curries all tatsed the same. Meat buna and chicken jalfrezi, both tatsed the same. Meat biryani tasted just jeera, no flavour nothing. Just 100% jeera. It was ridiculously expensive and nothing tasted like how the flavours suppose to be. I recommend that you don't waste your money on a place that does not care about customer service and provides food which tastes same no matter what you order. It's absolutely a joke. Never again.

First time ordering here. The food was OK. Arrived late. When the order was delivered, the driver tried to charge us again when we already paid. When I called the restaurant about this, they weren't particularly bothered and said if you don't want to order again it's fine. Glad you can afford to lose customers.

Garlic chille achari was overly hot today still an edible heat for me but gf didnt eat any. Lamb was tuff too today and chicken in the starter kebab was chewy/dry. Also forgot the mango out the chutney tray so not a great order.

The meat and the naan were very tough and chewy.

2nd time I've ordered and the order was missing items. This restaurant used to be my favourite but the quality of food is now poor. My husband unknowingly has just ordered again and they have forgotten the chips. Yet again another order missing items. We won't be ordering from here again.

Found this place by accident, had traditional keema,naan, chicken curry, n basmati rice...the food was fresh, n tasty......prices were good... best news was bring ur own alcohol.. Worth a visit for good curry.. .. parking's a bit difficult tho.....

Absolutely rubbish. Ordered South Indian king prawns, it was watery, too much onions and completely tasteless. Deshi tikka biriyani was swimming in ghee. Made me feel sick. Only nice thing was the naan bread. Nice and soft.

this is a first all the food was more or less cold had to warm it up in microwave and forgot poppadoms and cannot wait another hour or so has have young kids waiting for food.

How the hell did this place get 4.6 stars? The food was absolutely terrible words cannot even describe how this was the worst Indian food I have ever had in my life and even worse I ordered this as my birthday meal. The food was beyond bland and dishes that were meant to have some spice to it had completely non-at all. I ordered pathia and it was watery, but it was like watery whereas the water and the tomato sauce was like separating for some reason. The lamb that was also in the dish I’m still trying to work out how you can have lamb that is cooked in a sauce yet is drier than the Sahara desert. The onion bahji’s were also bland. The chicken biryani tasted off and don’t even get me started on the spinach and lentils. The only thing that was good about my meal was the peshwari naan Which I am convinced they must’ve not made themselves considering the fact that it was actually good. They had the cheek to give me one less tiger prawn in my dish than what was stated on the menu when I ordered which is a liberty when I paid £10 for that one Dish. It is safe to say I do not care if This is the last Indian takeaway on earth I will never ever in my life be buying anything from this restaurant again I would rather go and buy a pot source from the supermarket.

Trading standards are dealing with a complaint I had with the food containing long black hair and refused to except the responsibility because I sent photos in but obviously I removed the hairs from the curry so they refused all responsibility I had eaten there for over a year without a problem but this was unacceptable food standards

We phoned up for a table last minute at 10.30 they said it was ok to go and when we got there we told them it was our anniversary we had a starter and main and service was brilliant after we had eaten they came out with a plate and a desert of ice cream on with a candle in each saying happy anniversary it was a great touch to a great day thank you guys great service and so welcoming will go again

We ordered biryani but we never received the vegetable curry that goes with it .Very disappointing that took the edge off our meal.

On this visit about the Atmosphere the Music back ground was great but there was a Family one of the group a man he was so loud and noisy he one of those who has to be heard and in the end we had to leave we took our food with us it was very noisy just that one person. Beside everything else was perfect the staff are friendly helpful poppadoms took a while to come freshly cooked I think. We been to this place a couple of times you can not fault the place vert clean. This review base on this last visit

Sorry for the 2 star. Meal on the whole was great as usual, the lamb chops however tasted fishy. Cant do cross contamination meat/fish flavours it makes me feel weird.

My go to Indian place, food is always nice just wish you would put the cheese on the naan on the outside rather than inside.

Love the food but we ordered Desi biryani and veg biryani and unfortunately it seemed that the veg was the same heat strength as the desi biryani and my elderly mom was unable to eat it - the veg biryani is normally mild

Been coming here years. Onion bahjis were burnt. Still full marks though as the Ceylon was perfect for me, never tried that dish before its nice and balanced like there is some heat but also an abundance of flavours. Magic little team at the kesar its the best about.

Lovely Food at a Great Price 👍🏻

The reason for two stars on quality is because the rogan Josh was below average there was no tomatoes in the dish 6 pieces of small chicken and the sauce was like water everything else was excellent. I’m in two minds now weather to order from here again I’m extremely disappointed

Been here a number of times since their opening as well as having many takeaways delivered from there and I’ve always been pleased with the food. Last week I ordered my regular dish, a king prawn palek curry only to receive a dish which was unusually smelly, (even for fish) prawns which were chewy and certainly didn’t taste right. I immediately rang to complain thinking that my curry would be replaced but no, I was told the next time I went into the restaurant that I would be ‘looked after’ Tonight my husband took our granddaughter there for tea, it was a disaster. Not quite sure what has happened, if there is a new owner or even a new chef but we won’t be going back there. Overcharged on set menu, no discount given on the part of the meal we ordered to take out, food mediocre, constantly interrupted by waiters etc etc Be aware that despite there being no information that you pay 10% more if you pay with any type of card as apposed to cash, this also applies to takeaways. We will not return

Food was absolute delishh. Top of the class food served. Ayush and the rest of the staff were superb with the hospitality. Chef Youbraj delivered top quality food. Chef special was top class too. Would be my go to place if I am in the area. Thank you so much to the team at KESAR for the best in class experience 🙏

The food was lovely as always but we were missing the drink we ordered, received plain naan instead of cheese naan and the bottom of the bag was swimming with yoghurt as the pot had leaked

Kesar provides a beautiful blend of great Indian/Nepalese food with a lovely ambiance to make a dining experience for any occasion worthwhile. We went here with group of friends and every dish is so well made and curated to fit any palate. The customer service was impeccable and we enjoyed every bit of our dining experience here. We can’t wait to be back again!!

Food is average. It's a Bangladeshi Indian Restaurant and the same is reflected in the flavour. We were getting the raw taste of the spices in the curries. Ambience and service is good.

Love this spot i must have ate here 20-30 times. Love the lads and the relaxed no thrills atmosphere/decor. You can go here and stuff your face and bring a cupa few beers. Curries and starters are banging. Not a grill spot though its a curry place at heart so don't expect that 10/10 mixed grill, get a curry 100%

Always the best Asian cuisine around for miles in my opinion, staff are brilliant and they always send me a tub of chopped coriander to add to my already well cooked meal. Never go any where else, this establishment is 💯%

First time i have had a delivery from this restaurant. Have always had a delivery from another restaurant which has sadly lacked in quality. So gave these a try. Have to say the food was outstanding as was delivery and service. A bit more expensive but well worth it. Thanks guys will be coming to you from now on.

Delicious food, piping hot and delivered within 30minutes. This is the 2nd time we've had a delivery and both times brilliant. We ate in a couple of weeks ago and that also was delicious. Staff lovely

First time here is very nice meal we had the special that's on at the moment... The food was top notch and very good friendly service and nice atmosphere.. there was also parking right outside. Will definitely go again had a lovely time for valentines with my wife.

Got food late 45 minutes. GOT HAIT, WHITE LONG HAIR IN MY PARATHA...ordered lamb tikka masala and its sweet curry like chocolate, when complained, Mr. H, MANAGER SAID ITS MOST POPULAR SWEET DISH, ..IN EARTH WHERE LAMB TIKKA MASALA IS SWEEET....thrown to bin...sending all evidence to health and safety now...And most surprising, No apology at all from restaurant...
